Tshila was beginning to think she'd been stood up. Oh god, it was highschool all over again! She remembered this one time she was supposed to meet this guy she kind of liked for lunch, but he'd never shown up! And everyone at the school seemed to hate her except, like, one person and it was all sad and depressing and lonely and she did not want to relive it and she was just getting ready to leave and head back to the circus and spend the night working out and forcing herself to smile, while pretending it was all okay and she wasn't actually deeply hurt when a pink haired guy showed up and said hello to her!

She perked up straight away. Wow! He was really, really tall! Like, super tall. A super tall, beanpole. With the pink hair, he kind of looked like a lollipop! A really, really tall, cute lollipop (actually, that was kind of a disturbing train of thought so she decided to not think it anymore). So, okay, he wasn't a muscley surfer guy but he had pink hair and that was kind of cool so she wasn't going to complain.

Tshila grinned and gave a short wave. "Hi! I'm Tshila! I'm so glad you showed up because I was totally starting to think I'd been stood up which would have been depressing, like whoa! I mean, not really, but, you know, kind of? Not like soul-crushing depression or anything but it would have been kind of sad, know what I mean?" She took the box of chocolates (so sweet!) with a barely concealed squeak of delight, and held out the flowers. "I suppose these are yours but they're kind of wilted. I mean, I got them this morning because I was worried they might run out later or something and they kind of went all wilty while I was getting ready so I hope you don't mind. Because it's totally the thought that counts right?"

"Oh, wow! I forgot to introduce myself, huh? I'm Tshila! It's really nice to meet you! Oh wait...did I introduce myself already?"

Lyra was still beaming by the time that her date approached her. The girl was roughly her height, but she had a minor advantage with her heels. "It's nice to meet you, Snyder. I'm Lyra, here these are for you." She handed over the small bouquet and smiled at the girl before clasping her now free hands behind her back. It was even more exciting that her date was right around her age, a small part of her had worried that she'd end up paired with someone her dad's age. Yuck. But now she could go have fun with someone who wasn't too old, or even too young. "Did you have anything in mind for our date?" She tried to conceal her excitement, but found herself simply too ecstatic to not ask. Oh, she hoped it was something fun and exciting!

Lunesca sent a scowl her brother's way as he left to go be with his date. She really didn't mind too much once she saw that his date was practically still in diapers. She scoffed and turned her head back around to the forming crowd to see someone walking towards her. The girl was rather abrupt with her, something Lunesca liked. "Oh, hell yes." And with that, she tossed the flowers over her shoulder and in to the surrounding bushes. She never wanted to put up with this crap anyway. "I'm Lunesca. I'm very glad that you don't seem all too much into this dating crap. My brother dragged me along with him." She rolled her eyes and glanced over towards her brother's direction. She got a better deal than she had hoped for. The best case scenario had previously been a night of small talk where she tried desperately to avoid the conversation of any form of love. But not now, now she was going to go have some fun! "So, what do you have in mind?" She brought her hands up to her chest and moved them about in a playfully maniacal way.

Ezekiel's attention was drawn from Lunesca when he spotted the flowers that he had been looking for. "Good luck." He smiled back over to his sister before walking up to the young gentleman. The closer he got to his date, the younger he looked. Zeke was left feeling like a ***** by the time that he was close enough to know that those were definitely the flowers he had been searching for. Oh well, here goes. He had been practicing most of the night before, with Stephanotis in fact, to make sure that he would make a good impression on his date. Well, unless they didn't like magic. However, if they didn't like magic they weren't worth his time anyway. He reached his lengthy arms towards the flowers while the boy scoured the group of people and with a quick flick of the wrist, the flowers had become a long-stemmed red rose. "Hello." He smiled and bowed before him. "My name is Ezekiel, and I will be your date for this evening." Way to go Zekey, way to go. Is all he could keep telling himself. He had a horrible fear that something would go wrong and the whole thing would've spontaneously combusted, but thankfully they were both burn free.

Keegan had been singing screeching along to Sweeney Todd at the top of his lungs back in his room at the inn. The volume was up rather loud as it was and his singing was able to drown out whatever small sounds were left. This is exactly how his small baby boy was able to get out without him noticing. It wasn't until another song had ended and he walked to the kitchen to grab some popcorn and fix up a bottle for Sani when he noticed a flyer sitting on the kitchen floor. Upon further inspection, he noticed that it was an invitation for Sani to go to the Garden. He turned to see that the door was slightly ajar and that there was no Sani in sight. With that, he ran out the door in attempts to find his seed. He never should've started teaching that damn kid how to read. He was breathing quite heavily and bent over with a sharp pain in his side once he arrived to the garden.

He was quickly scoping the area and trying desperately to hear over his own breathing when he spotted him. Not only did he spot Sani, but he spotted two people with him! Oh goddess. He had left his son for two seconds and now he was getting kidnapped and goddess knows what else! He took off running again, fighting through the pain. "Hey!" He started screaming from a few feet away before stopping in front of them. He grabbed Sani up by the waist and held him on his hip. "What the... hell are you two... doing with my... child?!" The words finally escaped him through his breathing. He turned his head to look at Sani who seemed to have been crying, "shhhhhhh! It's going to be okay. Dada's got ya." He bounced him a little and smiled before turning back to the dirty kidnappers. "Well?!"

...Well this was new. Chun Fei told him to go away and he did. This wasn't to suggest that she was popular, far from it! She had no friends other than Jian, afterall. But usually people didn't take her seriously, or they pulled that 'Aww you don't mean that', or they just chalked it up to her being shy or scared. She hadn't had such an obedient yet negative reaction like that. For the moment, she forgot herself and the mask she was trying to wear, and her mouth fell open in surprise. He had insulted her, hadn't he? He had said something mean about her face and then walked away. She was offended, yes, and maybe she should have just let him walk off, but this was a first, she couldn't let it go.

Sethrian was taller, so Chun Fei had to trot to catch up. "W-wait!" she almost-cried, her voice louder than before but still not quite reaching outdoor-voice levels. "Y-you should apologize to me," she gasped as she caught up enough to see his face. He wasn't even good-looking, and he thought he could just be rude without another word? "Mama always says 'gentlemen should be kind and courteous to ladies, and always apologize when they make a mistake'," she explained, speaking in a distinct Chinese accent as she mimicked her mother. "So I'll take my apology now."

As usual, Peter's worries turned out to be no big deal. Skyla's date turned up, it looked like, but rather than some big, burly kidnapper-looking guy, it was a small pink-haired girl. The blonde-haired man had let the tiniest sigh of relief escape when she saw that his sister would probably be okay. Now he could focus on himself, on enjoying Valentine's Day with whomever his date turned out to be! ...And he didn't have to wait long at all. It seemed that he had just turned his attention away from his sister when a blonde-haired kid appeared in front of him. Before Peter could react much at all, this strange teenager shoved a second bouquet of bittersweet into his arms, then took off. Peter was stunned and without really thinking, he called after Alec, "Oh... Thank you...!". It seemed a little weird to thank him for that, but it was out of his mouth before he realized he was saying it. For now, he just frowned at the mass of flowers he was holding. What was he going to do with two bouquets of bittersweet?

It felt like Yuri had been waiting forever. It probably hadn't even been that long, but she was getting tired of holding these orchids up for her date to see, and her feet were beginning to ache a little from standing. Ahh, if she could find a bench to sit on, that would make everything better. Though to be honest, she couldn't say she was very impressed with whomever her date was, if they still weren't here. She didn't even want to think about the prospect of being stood up, so instead she put her focus into glancing around the garden for an open bench. She spotted one not too far off, and had begun to walk over, when she noticed a familiar blonde head that captured all of her attention and stopped her dead in her tracks. She could feel her pulse quicken and a cold sweat break out on the back of her neck. June was here? He was here without her? ...Well, duh, of course he was, they had been separated for a long time, they didn't do activities like this together anymore. But was he alone? For a split second, she imagined herself going over there and saying hi, and then it wouldn't matter that she had been stood up, and the two of them could talk like old times, with the romantic setting, and... Thankfully, maybe, before she could get her hopes up, she realized that June was talking to a young woman. Were they on a date? She was cute, smaller and younger than Yuri was, with cute blue hair... 'I had blue hair once!' she thought. As she gawked at them from a distance, she realized the flowers around them were beginning to spin, and Yuri's bouquet of orchids fell from her hand. The woman crouched down to pick them up, but when she went to stand up, her head spun and she felt dizzy, so she... just sort of stayed crouching like that, until she could keep her balance again. At least this way, they wouldn't see her, right?

Oh yes chocolate! This man sure knew how to get a lady excited for a date. She'd have to remember to hide those when she got home, or else her sister would steal them. One thing she had learned living with her older sister was that older siblings never stopped stealing candy from younger siblings. At least now she was smart enough to take that into account, no her candy would not be stolen. She turned her attention back to her date, taking the box of chocolate from his hand. In all honesty the date did sound a little boring explained like that, dinner dates never exactly appealed to the girl, but walks had potential. Sure going for a walk didn't sound fun, but there were so many things that could happen along the way! Especially in this crazy town! There was always bound to be some sort of adventure while off on a walk in Nirvani. "Sounds good," Mitsukai decided, smiling again at the man. "Where to?" she asked, wondering which direction they'd start off in.

----------------

Ugh, she was still waiting. How dare someone make her wait so long, they really didn't know what they were missing out on. They had the best possible date they could get, and yet they weren't even here yet. That was not acceptable. She stood with a hand on her hip, she would have used both hands but one was occupied with holding her flowers. How long did they plan to keep her, Elizabeth Berry, waiting? She looked around with an obviously irritated look on her face. She was thinking about confronting the event coordinator to make a complaint until a woman crouching down caught her attention. What was she doing down on the ground like that? She'd get all dirty down there and her date surely wouldn't be impressed. Being the kind and generous soul that she was Elizabeth decided she had no choice but to help, it wasn't like she really had anything better to do at the moment. "What are you doing on the ground?" Elizabeth asked her. "Your date's probably just gonna leave if they see you like that," she advised her. Seriously though, who wanted to go on a date with a woman who spent her time crouching on the floor? No one, that was who. "No one can even see your flowers if you're down there," she reminded her. Gosh, this woman was weird. Did she know anything about going on dates? Probably not from what Elizabeth could tell.

Javor was startled when a young girl interrupted his conversation with the boy by flinging flowers in the boy's face. He didn't even have a chance to respond when a young man bounded over and demanded to know what they were doing to his son!

Javor flinched at the boy's (Keegan) loud voice. "Why are you shouting when you are the one who left him alone for anyone to speak to? It is normal for an adult to stop to aid a screaming child, yes? Especially one who has been abandoned by an irresponsible parent." Honestly. He was merely helping the child stop screaming. It was a perfectly reasonable thing to do for the sake of the child and the ears of everyone around. It was that little girl that was the trouble maker!

Saying of which, Javor turned to her (Amie) and gave her a scowl. "You should not throw things at other children. It is the mark of a serial killer in the making and if you do not stop now, one day you will find yourself in jail for a vicious murder and then they will kill you by injecting you with a poison that will make you go to sleep and never wake up." He reached to pat her head gently. "You are merely fortunate they no longer subject one to lethal amounts of electricity. Now then. Be good."

"And you," he said to Keegan. "You must to be a better father and not leave your little one to screech in agony anymore." He would have patted Keegan but the boy was radiating the same sort of vibes one would get from a mother bear (not that Javor knew from experience, but he assumed) so he opted to not pat him--it would be troublesome if he lost a hand.

"Goodbye then!" he said, waving slightly as he started away to find the mysterious person with the oleander bouquet. However, he'd barely taken ten steps before he very nearly ran into someone (he was distracted by another rose trellis). Javor pulled up short, just in time to keep himself from running into the much taller man (Xiero). Ah.

"It is you," he said. "You are the one with the oleander bouquet. I have been looking for you."

________

"I am not a gentleman anymore than you are a lady. And nothing I said was remotely a mistake, merely honest," Sethrian said flatly, rounding on the girl that had chased him down. Hmph. What happened to her. A few seconds ago she was all shy and on the verge of tears and now she was chasing him down demanding an apology? Really? Seth tipped his head back slightly, lips twisting sardonically. "You seem awfully assertive for someone who was nearly in tears less than ten seconds ago. But since you're feeling bold..."

"I believe you owe me an apology for telling me to go away when I was merely attempting to help a lost little girl. So if you'd like?" He glanced at his arm, shifting his wrist so the bracelets there shifted off his watch. "Go. Anytime now."

Not that he expected an apology of course but she if she that type of woman--the kind who demanded special treatment by virtue of having estrogen--he would be damned if he'd play along. He couldn't stand females like her, no matter their age.

At least he wasn't feeling guilty about the blind date thing anymore. In fact, this felt deliciously like revenge against whatever idiot had tried to set him up with some bratty kid in the first place.

"You have to be ******** kidding me. There is no ******** way I'm doing this, Sage."

"Oh, come on. It can't be that bad. It's meant to be fun! Besides, you haven't left the house besides hospital appointments and school for days. Suck it up."

"I just thought I'd tell you - you ruin my life. Genuinely, ******** it up royally."

"Don't be a drama queen."

Asa shot Sage a glare. To be fair, he was currently dragging him down the street and toward the park, against his will, by the back of his shirt. After spending so much time at home, he was more than aware Sage would be forcing him to venture outside again. Or it could just be that, once again, Asa had managed to sneak into Sage's alcohol.

It didn't take Asa and Sage too long to get to the park. And once they did, of course, Sage made them stop to pick up some flowers. He obviously couldn't resist the romantic urge in him to try and inspire Asa (with much difficulty) to do something nice for the festival. With an almost demanding look, Sage gave Asa a small bouquet of flowers. "You like black right? It fits." Asa raised an eyebrow, slowly and hesitantly he took the bunch from his brother and gently felt the petals of one of the Black Dahlias between his fingers.

"I don't have a date. What's the point?" he asked bluntly. Sage shrugged lightly as he paid for his small bouquet as well, holding the Lily Washingtons to his chest. Asa could swear the guy practically screamed feminine but he wouldn't say that right now. Maybe later. When he could comment on his scatter cushions and "unisex" fragrances.

"There is a point. There's always a point. Now, go find some of your friends and show them you're, you know, alive." For a moment, Asa paused to say something in retort but he knew that anything he would say would only be used against him later in some form of argument. So, with a roll of his eyes, Asa decided to split away from Sage to go find someone he knew. Asa split off to wander further into the park. He wasn't dressed in a particular way - a pair of skinny jeans, white v-neck shirt, leather jacket and converse was all he really needed as far as clothes went.

After a little while of walking around, Asa found himself close to a friend of his. Brian. Maybe it was the fact that his happy-go-lucky nature reminded him of Isaiah or the fact he had those deep brown eyes that Asa liked but he found himself with the slightest crush on him. No matter how much he told other people he wasn't interested in guy, Asa most definitely was. But he'd continue to deny it. Just in case... "I didn't know you'd be here for this... thing," he observed as slight smile crossed his face. "Technically I'm only here now because of Sage... but details, details." He waved dismissively and walked over to stand a little bit closer to him. "I think Sage also has tried to get some kind of match maker thing for me... that's why he gave me," he raised the small bouquet of flowers. "these."

-Rune LeBlanc, Brooke Page, Julian Fate, Miah Bernadetto, & Stella Hammett-

Fortunately she wouldn't have to debate that for a long time, since there was someone in front of her soon enough. Simply catching his breath and standing there. He... looked older. But that wasn't really it, there was this air to him... She couldn't pinpoint it just yet, but the whole thing felt odd. This was not good. "...Hi." said the girl slowly. Inwardly Brooke sighed, a lot. To the man she simply let out a small breath. "Yeah, that is what they're called. So... You might be stuck here with me." She wanted to emphasize the 'might', this was a bad idea. Proceeding to look around for a moment, if only to let it sink in for the two... "If that's the case then... I'm Brooke." And this is weird. Finally she would look up to the male and give a not-so-enthusiastic smile. She at least tried to make enthusiastic.

Eventually he would find the damn flowers. He would, and the date would happen, and that would be that. Of course, he didn't count on many things... as wondering who his date might actually be. As he finally located the long-awaited monkshood, he was definitely sure a kid wasn't in his list of possibilities. Yet for that moment he wondered if he could arrest the matchmaker... No, that's something his foster mother would do. With a small clear of his throat, Julian headed in the direction of the girl who dressed in black (Scarlet). "Hey there" greeted Julian with a small smile... very small. Pretty much none-existent really. "Those would monkshood aren't they?" Maybe he got it wrong... Maybe his good memory decided to lapse on him today.

Miah had been entertained with adjusting whatever hair she thought was out of place, a habit she had whenever she was waiting for anything, or anyone. Soon enough that wait would be over with an acceptable match. Well, physically at least. "Are you now?" replied Miah, looking him over for a moment before meeting his gaze. An ever so small smile grazed her lips. Maybe this wasn't such a bad idea after all. She might have some fun tonight. "Well then Alec" she began to say as she stood from her spot and kept his gaze. "I'm Miah." He seemed optimistic. Well that was something. She remembered she was holding on to the bouquet and held it slightly in Alec's direction. "Do you mind taking care of these? I'm really not big on flowers." Besides, weren't those things for the guys? Well that was the logic that went with most girls being told to bring the darn things.

It seemed the Zinnia's attracted her date, it was looking good. He at the least identified the flowers. Stella had had two years where the date didn't even get past that. Of course what caught her eye was the slab of pink that stood out. Not that she minded in the least, she had blue hair after all. It was refreshing to see color around. People tended to be boring really, blacks, and greys, and whites and that. Stopping her mind from wandering so, Stella tilted her head slightly to the side and smiled at her date. "Stella. Nice to meet you" she replied, extending her own hand to his. She hadn't shipped anything to his address... this was even better! A stranger! "Looks like we have a date to enjoy."

"Dont be," June responded as he held up the picture of the flowers he had used to find his date. The artist painted a lot of flowers over the years, but he really didn't know anything other than what a rose and sunflower looked like. And really, he didn't care to know anything more than that. And with that, his eyes blanked out a bit as she talked. Not that what his date was saying wasn't interesting. There was just something else distracting him at the moment. June felt a eerie feeling crawl up his back. It felt like he was being watched, a feeling he had been having on and off for a while. Was he being paranoid? Well, that was a question for another time. Umi's motion of handing June the flowers snapped the blonde back into this world. "Traditions are for people who ain't got any idea how to live," He spoke in an apathetic tone that didn't due the phrase justice. And with that, he lazily plopped down on the bench the woman had been sitting on before. June patted the spot next to him figuring they had time to just sit around and do this whole "get to know each other" step. Not like he had anything with a time restraint planned, "Tell me about yourself."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alec let a big grin take over his face. It was nice to have been well received by a woman who he received well. A blonde beauty who shone with confidence. If nature allowed it, Alec would probably be a bit red in the cheeks right now. Of course, his nature couldn't allow such a thing. He had to stay cool, no matter how nervous his inside was. And in truth, he was a bit queasy. But, his outer smile never faltered, even when his date announced an apathy towards flowers. How could she not be big on flowers? And Carnations at that! Flowers had lots of medicinal effects. Dianthus Caryophyllus could relieve inflammations and even suppress nausea. Hell, it could even calm the nerves! It was such a wondrous plant. However, despite his inner ranting, Alec took the flowers haphazardly, "Me neither." He could feel his hand grip tightly at the frustration of his complying with such an outrageous thing. And as he could feel his body go to throw the Carnations to the side, he stopped himself, "No need to toss them though." His speech was relaxed and he leaned the flowers onto his shoulder, bouncing them a bit. "So what are you big on?" He asked, hoping to fish out something that might help him decide where they should go.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Erika beamed at the thought that the man she was going out was actually being a gentlemen. Maybe it was the fact that the guys around her were so... Not polite that made being treated like this fell really good. The men in her life were not really grade A. June was always so rude, Ray in another world, and Peter... Peter was just not manly in the slightest. Of course, her father was the perfect gentlemen, but no one could reach that level. Though, Rath was pretty good. "I don't mind, one bit" Erika spoke happily as she moved her hand up to grab his arm. Yet, when the tip of her finger grazed him, the blonde jolted in fear. A kind of primal fear she hadn't felt in quite awhile. The woman remembered that she was going on a date with a complete stranger. And while he was seemingly nice, the idea of not knowing him unsettled the girl. It had been awhile since she met someone new who wasn't a toddler or their guardian. Erika shook her head of the fear though. She was too big to be afraid of a stranger. She swallowed nervously and wrapped her hand around his forearm. When she felt comfortable she sighed in relief and gave herself a quick victorious arm pump. With a smile she turned to Rath, "lead the way."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Skyla was just about fed up with waving her flowers in the air (after about ten seconds) and was just about to call it quits when another girl came up to her. Not much older than or taller than little Skyla, the pink hair girl attracted her attention via the question. Camellia? Was that what these were called? Thought the tiny blonde as she examined the flowers closely. Her eyes then wandered back to the other girl lazily as she extended her arm out to give them to Penelope. "Are you looking for these?" She asked in her mouse like voice as her gaze intensified, waiting for a response. She remembered Erika explaining someone coming to look for Skyla's flowers and that they would be a pair... But, the girl didn't really understand what that entailed. There was a mention of going out for fun though. And maybe even some food... Skyla's mouth began to water a bit as she dazed off at the thought. But, she snapped herself back into play and re-intensified her look. "Are we going to have fun together?" She asked bluntly as her tiny mind began to contemplate what the day would entail from here.

Valentine's Day hadn't been much of a big deal for Conor ever before. Yeah, maybe when he was a hell of a lot younger and looking to score with some desperate broad, but, today? Nah. The day just reminded him of how him and Keith weren't together at that moment, but, then, every ******** thing had decided to do that for the man since Keith got that stupid job offer inland and he just had to do it. He was grinding his teeth in frustration, but he forced himself to stop with the doom and gloom for the moment. Not because John was looking awkward as hell, though Conor would prefer he quit it now because he sure as ******** wasn't going to allow his boy to look like that, but because he had a friend coming. Yeah, Conor had more friends than that Riley b*****d who hadn't even called in sick or <******** anything. Shocker, right? Wrong. Tate was the coolest ******** around and he.. he was just really cool, alright, and anyone who thought that Conor would be stupid enough to not jump at the chance of becoming friends with someone as all around awesome as that was even more brainless than his son.

He looked over the people going to and fro at the garden, arms crossed and scowl slowly erasing as he concentrated on looking as cool as possible. Which morphed into excitement because he was going to hang out with Tate and, sure, he had his son with him and John was there too, but it was still pretty damn cool. The appeal to being with the guy never wore off even as the years went on and Conor was well on his way to a bright, peppy mood when he spotted him. That guy with Keith's face. He cringed slightly as he spotted him and, feeling his mood drop significantly towards darker depths, Conor turned his back on the guy to shove a cigarette at John. "You look dumb as s**t. At least try to seem cool, alright? ********>" He snapped to the taller, who nodded fervently.

John was always happy to please his dad, after all, and he didn't hesitate to light one up. Besides, even if John wasn't really certain on the reason behind it, he sorta knew his dad calmed down whenever he smoked. Or maybe he wasn't seeing any change and John was the one calming down? Ah, he couldn't believe he was assuming things again! He silently threw apology after apology at his father, but all he got was a scathing look that sent shivers through him. So, instead, he turned away from the shorter and studied the flowers in the garden. He liked flowers - pretty, colorful, and they smelled so nice.. It was only better that there were so many girls all dressed up around them too. He smiled slightly at a couple of them and rolled the cigarette between his fingers nervously. Ah, he really hoped he could meet a girl today - it was Valentine's day, after all. Maybe he would get lucky..?

The contest was just about to prove Ed as the victor when, suddenly, a girl had crashed right into the table, successfully knocking the wind out of the woman behind it and causing what could almost be consider a smile on the man's face. Almost. He took one look at the situation and decided that this was a complete waste of his time, chiding his past self for ever thinking that a staring contest with a failure of an event coordinator was going to amount to anything for him. He shook his head and turned away from the table to head home and do what he should have done in the first place; retrieve his keys from his home to open his library.

But, something had him halting. The red, fully-bloomed roses that he was supposed to find had walked just by him. He would have shrugged and continued anyway, but it was less that the search forced onto him had a finish line in sight and more so that the one holding them was none other than Rune LeBlanc. He turned and stared in what may have been surprise at the situation. Rune and him weren't anything close to friends. They didn't hang out much and it was only his father who ever took an interest in her, though it didn't make sense and frustrated him more often than not, but.. She was certainly something to him. He frowned slightly and inwardly berated whatever part of him felt some kind of loyalty to her as he approached her, unwilling to simply abandon her on her date. "Rune." He called as soon as he fell into step beside her, looking down at her with a frown, "Why are you here?"

Junior wasn't really supposed to be here. No, he was supposed to be at home, waiting by the phone just in case Yuri's date fell through so he could come pick her up from the bar because that's usually where she went before asking for him to help her. Not that Junior was ever much help, but.. but maybe he could be today? It was a stupid thought he had had while doing his regular passive routine at home that maybe he should try the initiative and.. and be there to help her before she went to drink herself under the table. Maybe it would be better for both of them if he could show he could be the first choice and not the after thought, but, as he finally arrived to the garden, his heart decided to stop. Just a split second as he noticed how many people were here. He saw his nephew over there, but the boy was busy and.. and no Yuri..? He was too late, wasn't he..?

Of course he was. He waited too long and now Yuri was calling his house looking for him and he wasn't there. He was about to sink to the ground himself when he saw someone had beat him there - off at the far end of the garden was Yuri, crouching on the ground for whatever reason. He started for her before he could think much on it when someone else seemed to beat him to it. Maybe it was her date..? He crept just a little closer, but this was pretty weird, wasn't it? Following and watching two women in public... What if Yuri saw him? Oh, Goddess, she was going to think he was a creep and never talk to him ever again. He swallowed hard and turned around to try to see anyone he even vaguely knew that he could approach. There was Mitsukai, but she was on a date, and.. and, Goddess, he didn't know anyone here. He started to sweat with all the panic bubbling up inside him before he saw someone who looked somewhat familiar. Yes. Yes, it was one of the student's parents that he substituted for!

He was headed for Mr. Sage Knox before he could realize how stupid it was for a teacher to just walk right up to a parent during an event where he probably had a date of some kind. So, he stopped in front of the man and looked at the ground for several minutes as he debated on whether he should walk away or not. In the end, making sure Yuri wasn't going to crash at the bar again won out and he slowly turned his head up to look at Sage. He cleared his throat, "A-ah, hello, I.. I'm Mr. Waldroup, who.. who is your son's teacher, substitute, we have.. a new teacher n-now I think, but.. b-but I taught him for a-awhile and.. I-I'm sorry, I-I wasn't with anyone here and n-neither were you, so.. I th-thought.." Oh, this wasn't going well at all. He felt like he was about to pass out already and he hadn't even got to the part where the other spoke back. This was just the stupidest idea he could have had in his life.

Brian had just been considering actually going after Chun Fei even if they weren't obviously matched up because her date seemed to be bombing pretty fast. The guy she was with seemed pretty old, after all, and he didn't look all that nice either. Maybe saving the day for her would earn him a date or something? But, before he could make that first step towards the situation, his flower had changed from delicate white blossoms to a thick-stemmed red rose in a flash. He gasped and almost dropped the flower in shock, but it didn't take too long for him to figure out that it wasn't some demon flower as his date introduced himself. It was just a magic trick and, based on the eccentric introduction of the man, he guessed it was from the real deal. Ha! How cool was that? He got paired up with a professional magician and - oh, he was pretty.. old.

He creased his brow slightly as he observed that. Maybe not all that much older, but it was obvious he was looking at an actual man and not the fellow 'men' Brian was categorized in. Cool as that trick was, this date was going to get pretty awkward fast with that age gap. He could already feel his entire family breathing down his neck once his uncle - the gossip-y one - caught wind of this. Not that he cared all that much, but, if any of them were bored enough, he could see some real drags in his future.

"Brian Waldroup, it's pretty cool to meet you too-- Asa!" He twisted around as the other boy had magically popped out of nowhere with a bouquet of his own. Thank God. "Oh, man, I'm glad to see you here." He laughed in relief as he slung his arm across the shorter's shoulders and pointed to Ezekiel, "You're going to join us, right? This guy was just going to take me - ah, where were you taking me again?" He directed that at his date curiously. Certainly, with an entrance like that, he had to have some kind of extravagant date planned, right? Which would be cool now that he knew he wasn't going to be stuck alone with him the entire time and had a friend to relieve some of that ice. Whatever Asa's brother was trying to do, Brian was sure to come first, right? He hoped so at least.

This was probably the worst day of Sani's life - it felt like he would die with all of the feelings overwhelming him right then and he wasn't sure how he could possibly express that concern or if anyone would care because Da wasn't there yet! First, some strange man had taken him aside and.. and said something he didn't really understand entirely, but he knew when someone was saying something scary and that was definitely scary. Monsters, he was talking about, he knew it. Not the funny, happy monsters with round teeth and bright, wide smiles on his T.V., but the ones that would try to chop him up like he was a peanut butter sandwich put into triangles just for him. Except it wouldn't be tasty, it would be bad because Sani would be dead. Like the people on T.V. It never occurred to him that he could be like that ever and, though he didn't know the true extent to it, he knew it probably hurt.

Hurt like he was about to experience when another stranger had approached to save him, he had hoped. But, before that could happen, something hard and prickly had slammed into his face and everything was tears and wails again because that hurt, why had someone hurt him? Those wails only increased to the loudest his vocal chords could manage when he saw his Da because why hadn't he been there sooner, Sani was almost dead, dead, dead, and Da was supposed to be there to stop this from happening! He clung tightly to the man and eventually simpered down into whimpers and hiccups.

"Kthyluanhihiii, Kauthhhhlhihihi.." He tried his best to repeat that stupid monster word that the man had said, but he just couldn't get it out! It was hard and he hated it, so he just went to speaking what he knew he could say. "I face hurted, she throwed it - she throwed that and h-hurted me." He said urgently as he indicated the little girl (Amie) before dissolving back into tears because that really had hurt and the little girl was still there when Da was supposed to have chased her away like he had the other man.

Zhi had been busy pretending she didn't see the librarian staring at her, which wasn't that hard to do when there was love in the air and she had a date to get to later that evening~ Ah, she could already see her beautiful wife greeting her in a fluffy apron, serving her a meal, which would actually be the meal that Zhi prepared before she had left the house, but the picture would be just as great regardless of the little details. She let out a lovely sigh when the table slammed into her stomach and that sigh turned into a wheeze. Manicured nails scratched at the surface of the table to try to stop it, but the damage had already been done. She could only shove the table back into the girl who had caused this whole mess and try not to outright murder her for what she had done.

She caught her breath and soothed her aching stomach as she observed the brunette. Cute, cute, almost as wonderfully energetic as her River was when she was young and probably the epitome of the daughter Zhi wished she had, but there was a bitterness in her impression of her considering she had just attacked her with the stupid fold-out table.

Though, that could have been an accident. She fixed her hair and cleared her throat, "No, you aren't." She answered first as she glanced at the plant she had with her. A fern. Ah, right, this must be Kasie. She picked up the clipboard on the table and flipped through the papers there until she found Harper's match. "He should still be here. Here, I will take you to him." She had to get Elizabeth's date started too, now that she thought of it.

She stood up and set the clipboard upside down before rounding the table and grabbing the girl by her shoulder maaaybe a little harder than necessary. "Jian is.." Oh. He wasn't that far at all. She spun Kasie around until she faced the teenager, standing just before the garden and maybe only a few feet from Zhi's table set up. It looked like Kasie had just run right by him! She rolled her eyes at that and pushed her towards the boy, "Stand in front of him until he notices. Good luck~!" She sang out before releasing her and heading straight to where Ms. Elizabeth Berry was harassing some girl having a panic attack on the ground.

Huh. This may be a little awkward. "Elizabeth Berry." She greeted without a second glance to the girl on the ground, "Lucky you! Your date is a special one!" Or probably the worst one could get, but, whatever, Zhi wasn't going to reveal that. "You must go to the Sonata family mansion and wait at the stables for your special date~! I can bring you there, if you like." May as well offer some sane human interaction to the poor woman before sending her off to her potential death.

Umi sat next to June, stretching out her legs and arms as she watched the people milling around. "That is always a loaded question, isn't it? It's hard to condense myself into a few sentences but it makes me sound pretentious if I give you a sermon, yeah?" She smiled slightly, glancing at him. "But I suppose I can at least give you the basics. As I said, my family just moved here. My father is sick and the doctors, they believe it will be good for him to rest in a place that is not stressful for him. I did not want my mother to have to take care of him alone--her English is not so good so I left school to come here with them."

"But it's not so bad. I found a job right away and it's nice here. Very beautiful. Not much chance to study music but I suppose I can think of it as a break to keep working on my music alone for a while. And my father, he is doing well so, it's good."

She gave him a sheepish smile, not knowing if there was something in particular he wanted to know or if she sounded whiny about her situation--which, she hoped not because she didn't feel whiny about it. It was what it was and whining surely wouldn't change that.

"And what about you? Have you lived here long? What do you do?"

Hmm...That was a good question. Kenneth didn't really know the area very well yet. He did just move here. Shoving his hands in his pockets, and looking around. He knew he saw a few places around here the other day that seemed interesting but he wasn't sure now. Looking back at Mitsukai, he gave her a small smile. "Well I'm still pretty knew around here so I don't know the area very well. So why don't we head that way?" He pointed to the direction where his sister was. Maybe they could look at some of the flowers while they were still here.

Penelope smiled. Nodding her head yes when the other girl asked if she was looking for the flowers. And then again after she heard the question. "Well I hope so. What would you like to do today?" She really wasn't sure what to do today. And she didn't want to say the same thing her brother did. For one she didn't want to go on the same date as him. That wouldn't be fun. So asking the girl what she wanted to do seemed like the best answer. She puled the rest of her hair to her right. Running her fingers through the ends as she waited for an answer. If she couldn't think of anything to do Penelope wouldn't mind trying to figure something out. And then it hit her. She hadn't introduced herself yet and she didn't know the girl's name yet. "By the way, my name is Penelope."

Tate & Brody O'Ballivan &

"Da why the hell do we have to go to this lame thing? You already have Mom, so you guys don't do this festival. Why are we even going?" Shaking his head Tate just let Brody ramble on as they walked towards town. Did he want to go to the Valentine's day festival? Heck no, but Brody needed to get out and it was a roundabout way that they could go fishing after. It was time needed between the two - especially since they had been fighting more often recently. With a sigh the man decided he needed to make his point. "Do you think I wanna be at this festival? That what you think Brody? Hell no I don't want to. I love your Momma' and I want you to be that happy someday too. Just 'cus you were a ladies man at your old school dudn't mean that it's the same here. So hang loose talk to a couple people and then we can go fishin or somethin' before work." With that being said the two men rambled into the town square and saw it was busy with awkward people trying to talk to each other and make small talk. With a small chuckle the older man just shook his head and muttered 'young love'. Seeing a friend of his across the square he clapped a hand on Brody's shoulder and made a head motion pointing to where he was heading. The younger man looked slightly panicked for a few seconds and then hid the expression and replaced it with the ever more common cocky smile that had become usual. "Da you know I'm not gonna meet anyone if we're just hangin' with Conor and John right? But at least we can fish later. Right? Just us?" The almost pleading expression made Tate want to hug the boy, but knew that wouldn't go over well when people were around - so it was another shoulder clap and a smile. "A'course it's just us. You at least know how to fish, finally got it figured out now don'tcha'?" With a quick laugh, the man continued. It'll be just us though son, don'tcha' worry." With the conversation over the two men reached where Conor and John were standing and they all went through the whole 'hello how you doin good to see you' handshake type thing and stood around just talking. At least it was going to be an interesting afternoon.

With :: Conor, John Thinking :: We'll isn't this going to be lame. Get through the afternoon and fishin' with the boy. Can do.

Jian hadn't been paying much attention to the festival that much, he had been way too busy arguing with himself in his head. Up until now, he had been keeping a distanced eye on his sister, because believe it or not, while he cared for his sister, he didn't really care so much that he'd monitor her every movement. Who'd ever mess with a girl like her anyway? She was totally harmless, afterall. But then that guy showed up, all tall and adult-like, and Jian found that his attention had become much more focused on Chun Fei. That's when the argument started. He didn't want to seem like he cared, he hated the idea of being a smothering older brother, but you know, the two of them had shared a uterus together once... Okay, now he was full-on staring. He couldn't really hear what they were saying, and Chun's back was to him, but he saw Sethrian's face, and he didn't like it. ...Ahh, they had started to walk away. Without even really realizing it, Jian began to follow them, but eventually he was stopped by a girl (Kasie) standing between him and his target. He glanced at her for a split second, long enough to register that she seemed somewhat familiar, that she was in his way, and that she was holding a fern. A fern? Why in the world was she holding a fern? ...And having completely forgetting why he was there, Jian let out a soft "'Scuse me," and paused, waiting for her to move out of his way so he could continue trailing after his twin sister.

Chun Fei liked to think that she in control of things, and sometimes she faked it quite well, but more than anything, she was still figuring out how everything -- people, human relationships, the world in general -- worked, and she was a lot clumsier than she wanted to be. If she had had her way, she would have magic powers, like those girls in ill-fitting clothes in the comic books Jian read, and could make people do what she wanted with a flick of her finger. But instead, she got a strange mix of indignation and self-conscious embarrassment because he was confronting her and calling her out and oh Goddess she couldn't handle confrontation. She would have paled, if her face hadn't begun to burn pink. She wanted to control it, but... Well, she was beginning to feel timid again. "D-don't bully me," she said in a tiny voice, staring up at him with everything she had, but she had to bite her lip to prevent herself from doing anything more embarrassing than just the odd stutter. "I hate adults, you ruin everything," she managed to huff, throwing her bouquet of flowers against the ground. Aaand she had begun a temper tantrum. She really wasn't helping her own case.

Yuri probably wouldn't have minded that much, in the grand scheme of things, to just spend the rest of the festival crouched on the ground, maybe locating a paper bag to hyperventilate into. Maybe she would have even done it, too. It looked like some of the couples were beginning to move off into their dates. No one would notice if she just stayed there. But then someone spoke to her, and for a split second, Yuri thought a billion of impossible scenarios (Her date? Some hunky firefighter there to save the day? Junior? June?) before realizing that none of these people sounded like a teenage girl. And, of course, she looked up to see a (spinning) girl (Elizabeth) looking down at her. In various ways, probably. All of a sudden Yuri realized how ridiculous this was. She was a grown woman, she had gone through school and gotten married and divorced and reproduced, and she was acting as if she were some timid schoolgirl. "Oh... yeah... Dropped my flowers..." she mumbled and tried to smile reassuringly, but it probably wasn't convincing in the slightest. She still didn't stand up either, because another woman -- Yuri had been around long enough to know Zhi on sight -- showed up and began to talk to the teenage girl. Yuri took this as a chance to escape. She stood up halfway, and sort of ran all slumped over like that, until she reached an empty bench and sat down hard. Her flowers had long since been forgotten, and from her now significantly-more-stable-and-much-less-weird position, she gave June and his date a few more peeks just to confirm that they weren't making out or getting engaged at that very moment. She told herself that this was reassuring, but it didn't make her feel any better, so she tried to distract herself with something else. Her eyes immediately found Junior's hair -- it was hard not to, it was just so orange -- and for a split second she felt a little bit more grounded. Her best(?) friend was there, he'd find her and calm her down and she could maybe look at things without feeling like she had been submerged underwater. At least, that's what she assumed, until she saw who Junior was talking to. A man. A man? A man. A man! On Valentine's Day? Immediately she leaped to conclusions. Junior was on a date. With a man. Yuri inhaled so sharply she choked, and once again the floral backdrop began to spin and swirl out of focus.

Yes. Both John's and Conor's faces lit up as they spotted the O'Ballivan boys - Conor, because that should be obvious by this point, and John, because.. well, this should be obvious as well; John just liked to meet anyone, regardless of who they were. They were greeted with smiles and, though profanities were present as always with the older man, it wasn't any less jovial. John was a bit less talkative, though, as he looked at Brody, because it wasn't like he was all that close to the boy and John wasn't sure if he could say anything without really messing up, so he kept his expression friendly and maintained his silence outside of the greeting until Conor broke in.

The man had been wrapped up in admiring Tate to where he almost forgot what this outing was supposed to be about. Getting their boys some girls so he could spend more time with Tate because - uh, he meant, so John could be more of a man or something. He set his hand up on John's shoulder and glanced around the square with the keen eye of an experienced player~ Or he liked to believe he did. Truth was, Keith was the real player in the pair; Conor just sorta took whoever came onto him. So, he ended up picking the first girl he saw (Lyra) - hey, she was with another girl too, so it worked! He pointed her out and looked at John, "They're ******** hot, eh? Go talk to them." With that order, he pushed John forward and stood back to watch, arms crossed and eyes critical.

He probably wouldn't do anything 'bad' with Tate standing there, but it was best not to test his dad! So, John nodded his affirmation and said a quick, "It was nice talking to you, Brody." before heading up to the pretty blue-haired girl a short ways away. Far enough for no one to hear what he could say, but he could still feel eyes on his back as he reached the girls. Oh! That was.. Lyra, wasn't it? He vaguely remembered going to school with her, though she was sort of a kid then and, now, she was sorta not. Uh. "Hi, Lyra - uh, I'm sorry if it's weird I know your name, I'm not trying to scare you, but we both went to the same school, so.. yeah, I... I'm sorry." He sent a look back at his dad before scooting closer to Lyra and oh, jeez, there was another there. She was already on a date with someone.

He jerked back and frantically waved his hands at the other girl (Snyder), "Uh, I'm sorry, are you two on a date? Oh, Wayne, I'll just - uh, unless you aren't on a date, then I guess I'm sorry? You just look.." He stopped - oh, his dad was glaring at him right now, wasn't he? He looked back - yep, he was mad at him. John wasn't doing this good enough. So, he grabbed Lyra's hand and covered his eyes with his other hand, "Sorry, sorry, sorry, I'm just going to.. take her for a little while, 'kay? It'll just be a little while and - uh." Oh, this wasn't going well at all and he knew he was getting that look right now! But it wouldn't be right to just leave this other girl alone without a date, so he took her hand too. "You can come too? I mean, you might get hurt if you don't." He didn't know if his dad would be more angry at him or them if this didn't work, after all.

Meanwhile, back at Conor and the O'Ballivan's, the man wasn't angry at all. Actually, he felt a little proud that John was working his magic so quick on not just the first girl, but the second girl as well! Ha, course he was - it was his kid! He was grinning widely at the scene before looking to Tate, "Looks like my boy's scoring pretty ******** quick, yeah?" He paused briefly, considering if he should go ahead and point out the obvious or not. But, however much he liked sucking up to Tate, he still couldn't help competing with John a bit. He was obviously the best son anyone could have and all because Conor made him that way~ "Brody could probably learn something from him, y'know."
