"...Thanks Quin." Being single for so long hadn't done her self esteem any favors. At his insistence, she almost felt a little pretty. Almost. It made her smile though. "And I know what you mean...my grandma died. Now that she's gone...I'm really sad I didn't visit her nearly as often as I should have..." She shook her head as if to physically remove the painful thought. "But you're not all alone anymore Quin. You've got at least one friend! Me. How about we move on to the next exercise?"

He frowned ever so lightly as he let go of her hands to go back to standing upright. It seemed he would need to help her boost up her self-esteem, she was a very pretty girl but she hadn't realized that just yet. "Adora..if i'm complimenting you too much just tell me and I'll stop" he said getting the vibe that she seemed a little unhappy. "how about..we take a break and I try to get your self-esteem back up?" he asked her with a light smile.

"What? Oh no!" She felt her face heating up from embarrassment. She looked away from the male as she frowned deeply. "I don't want you to think that. It's not like that at all." Great. Maybe this was why no pae wanted to date her. Low self esteem was no attractive at all. Without warning, she pulled her legs up to plunge her body into the water. The cool water water washed over her warm face, and it gave her a brief break from the awkward conversation. Unfortunately she could only stay underwater for so long, and had to stand back up. "Ugh...I've made an awful first impression." The female muttered, her arms wrapping themselves around her stomach.

He frowned before unwrapping Adora's arms from around herself "No..no..you made a great first impression" he told her before taking her hands from around her stomach and lightly kissing her fingers. "You made a wonderful first impression, we just need to work on you realizing that you are a beautiful young lady" he told her lightly. Before embracing her in a friendly hug.

Now that she was completely embarrassed, the female avoided eye contact. Despite his kind words, she had the all too sinking feeling that he now saw her as broken goods. Being the daughter of such a loving fae was just as much as a burden as it was a blessing. He was a warm and attentive father, but put a huge stress on her finding love herself. When she couldn't meet his expectations, it felt like she failed him. The warm hug took her by surprise, and she blinked back the tears. "Why are you so nice to me, when you barely even know me?"

He lightly wiped her tears away with finger lightly "because, its part of my personality and you seem like you deserve someone who will make you happy" he said and smiled lightly "and because i'm enjoying your company" he told her. "Besides sadness doesn't suit your pretty self" he told her.

((since she blinked back the tears...there weren't any for him to wipe away... ^-^; But I do appreciate the thought!)) "I don't want to bother or inconvenience you..." Today was supposed to be a fun, relaxing day. Now it had gone all wrong because of one simple statement. She fervently wished she could go back 5 minutes and smack herself on the head. "How would you even go about upping ones self esteem?"

That made him chuckle lightly "my dear Adora, you are niether a burden or a inconveience to me,if anything you are a pleasant companion to be around and I appreciate you teaching me the basics to swimming" he told and lightly patted her forearm. "As far as how we can raise your self-esteem that is something i have yet to figure out, but i'm sure i will come up with a way to do so" he told her with a smile.

"I'll teach you more than the basic's eventually." She responded with a bit of a light chuckle. The female gave a bit of an uneasy smile, confused still about what he possibly could come up with on the spot. "But, what should we do for now then?"

He chuckled lightly glad she was feeling a little better "not to worry im in no rush to learn how to swim, sitting and soaking is good enough for me" he told her with a smile " where there is a way, there is a will" he stated.

Exhaling slowly, she nodded and allowed herself to float. Looks like they weren't going at that exact moment, so the pressure had been lifted. "So...What do you do for fun Quin?"

He thought about it before answering her question "I've never actually thought about it before" he admitted before sitting back in the water enjoying the cool temperature.

She tilted her head to the side, strawberry hair glistening from her earlier dunk into the water. "I keep forgetting you're new here. You probably haven't had enough time to find out what you like and don't like." She grazed her fingertips along the surface of the water, playing with the ripples it created. "I like swimming, singing, and hanging out with friends." All too sadly, she hadn't seen any of her friends in a very long time. She wondered how everyone, even Azure, was doing. "My dad told me a long time ago there was a place called Headquarters. There were tons of pae around, all the time. One wanted for nothing, as there was something in HQ for everyone. Most pae spent their time there. Now everyone is all divided up."

He tapped a finger on his chin "I'm sure I will figure it out eventually" he told her. He nodded his head "well, you've been longer then I have so you would know by now, I'm still figuring that stage out" he told her "hum..I've never heard of that place...although I'm pretty sure that is a good place to meet some new friends there" he told her. He lightly splashed around in the water with a hand.

"Same here! I have complete faith in that." She grinned at him. "It was a fantastic spot to meet pae. I'd take you there but...well, according to daddy, HQ was completely destroyed a few seasons ago. But you've got one friend." With that, the female suddenly pushed on the water with a hand, sending a fine spray right onto the green and black male. "Me!"
