Fastidiously cleaning the last bit of fish from his talons, Sanji pointedly ignored Fynn and Cordelia. Fynn might have the best fish now, but, that was because the bestest fish, Sanji's fish, had been eaten, and could no longer really be called a fish. Sanji tilted his head thoughtfully at that. Was a fish in the belly still a fish?
Sometimes, he astounded himself with his intelligence. He was about to ponder the existentialism of food some more, when another merperson interrupted his thoughts.
The handler was upset? Sanji glanced over toward her, and saw she was still smiling. He didn't see a problem. What would a handler have to worry about anyway? Their concerns were simple: keep him fed and properly revered, and feed the others when absolutely necessary. Honestly, they had a hard enough time keeping those priorities straight, it was hard to believe they had enough higher function to be upset about anything else.

Wickett parked neatly in the shade of some cedars, then held the door open for the tour group.
"Curiousity Coast," he announced, "and our Underwater Center is close by. Here we keep our aquatic residents... Ah, Ms. Utkin. Are we here in time for feeding?"

Steve's head was out the window as they drove up the sandy path he wanted to take as much of this in as he could. He could smell the salty air and feel it stick to his face as they drove through the forest. He pulls his head back in the car & scribbles in his notebook a little doodle of the area. " Oh we get to feed the residents?" A huge smile spread across Steve's face, " I love meal time."
She heard the car come up but despite that it was the sudden voice of her 'Bosses' that made her suddenly freeze in surprise for a second or two. Despite her attempts to appear professional her nerves sort of went into a bit of a tizzy causing her to stutter at first, "A-Ah y-yes," She turned to face the oncoming guests with the handle of her bucket in her hands.
"M-My name is Nadya Utkin a-and I take care of the p-precious ones here," her face broke into a blush as she tried to claim herself just enough to get her words out. Her dark eyes flicked over toward one of the guests that asked if they were going to be the ones feeding them and her breath sucked in a little as she tried to come up with an appropriate response.
"S-some. You all may feed some of them. Yes. It...It isn't that they are dangerous but they are a little touchy sometimes," she gave an apologetic smile, "despite how much I work with the Darlings they do have a lot of instinct t-to contend with." Her heart was hammering a million miles an hour within her chest it felt like it was a humming bird about to escape. "B-Before I offer you all a fish to feed them...If Ariel is willing, I would like to have her perform a trick for you all."
Maybe the other ones would fall in line...?
The young woman glanced over where Fynn and Ariel were, she hoped the taur would move the mermaid into the water since she seemed to be on his back at the moment. "Ariel~. Are you ready my little Doll?" She chimed out trying to look confident and happy and for the most part it was a rather clever and well put together ruse on her part. Nadya felt her nerves slowly fade down.
I can do this. Just picture everyone nak--Wait. No. Bad idea. I cannot do that.
She fought down the blush threatening to take over the entirety of her face now.

Well that was no fun. Nadya may have said he had outsmarted her, but really, it was she who had outsmarted him. By cutting the game short, he hadn't had the chance to really tease her! The Kelpietaur pursed his lips a little, as if to say 'you win this round' before he glanced over his shoulder at Cordelia, twisting at his waist to set the fish down in her lap with a grin and a wink.
-Here Cordy, you have best fish- he replied, giving the mermaid's fin a pat before he turned around, eyes automatically flicking to the water where Bloodwater floated. -Today is special. People coming?- he replied, sounding quizzical but not the least bit perturbed. If they were anything like Nadya, they had nothing to worry about -- she was the best.
When the SUV showed up, the bronze kelpietaur paused, eyeing the two men who exited with interest, and perhaps a little bit of possessiveness. The one who spoke to Nadya in particular got a little warning look... not quite aggressive, but just letting him know not to mess with their trainer. He could feel the little russian girl's heart speed up, the stutter in her voice as she stumbled over her words, and the more worried she became, the more possessive he felt. Kicking off the sand, he hustled back to the aquatic trainer's side, pacing behind her a little while he watched the two men, his expression easy-going and relaxed. The second one though, the one who looked far more smiley, earned himself a look of intrigue. After a few moments of quiet observation, Fynn finally stepped closer to the two, coming very close to Steve and bending down a bit to look at the notebook in his hand.
Only when Nadya mentioned Cordelia's trick did Fynn turn his attention fully back to her, brushing the back of his forearm against hers before he started towards the ocean. -Silly Nadya, Cordy is always ready for fish- the kelpie teased, glancing over his shoulder at the mermaid before he splashed into the water up to his flank, deep enough to where Cordelia could slide off his back and move easily into deeper waters.

Steve's face was wide with a smile when Ms. Utkin said they would be able to feed some of the residents. He knew all to well how picky some creatures could be when getting fed by a stranger. He remembered the one time he was at a zoo and some little kid tried to feed a monkey a banana through a fence, well the monkey got the banana alright be he also got the poor kids finger in the process. Steve looks at his fingers & gives a little shutter, and snaps back to real world " They do tricks to?!" He sounded more surprised then he wanted to after all he's a animal dude not a biologically impossible creature dude, he had no idea what to expect from these creatures.
With all his attention focused on his notebook for the moment he didn't even realize that a creature was now practically at his side. He was in shock when he looked up to see a furry fleshy thing standing near them. "Wh..whats that?" He just stared with big eyes as the creature went into the water.

Harlan Wimple, Attorney at Law, scuttled after Mr. Wickett, one question after another tumbling out of his mouth.
"How many days since the last on-the-job injury occurred here, Mr. Wickett? How are the creatures kept secure? What protocols are in place in case of an emergency? What happens if one of the creatures gets loose?"
He gave Steve a sideways glance.
"Mr. Steve, please don't get too close to the animals. Creatures. Entertainment."
Harlan jotted down a few notes before turning his bespectacled gaze back upon Mr. Wickett.

Bloodwater stared for a moment as more people showed up. He listened to the conversation between Nadya and the new people backing up from the platform Nadya was on as they moved closer. Seeing them his expression darkened a bit. So far the group seemed to be mostly males while he had seen one of them before the others he did not know. The merman's tail twitched a bit as he slid deeper under the water and away from them.
He had just started to be able to relax around the other inhabitants. His natural adversarial of males and Nadya's nervousness around them increased the merman's irritation. Bloodwater flared his fins pushing them out in an attempt to make himself look bigger. Unlike earlier his ear-fins where also puffed up.
Bloodwater has short black hair, red eyes and his ears are small black fins. He has black scales going up his arms and shoulders he has fins on his arms from his wrist to his elbow and one along his back. His tail is made of the same black scales that show up on his arms and is framed by long red fins on each side and one hanging down at the bottom. His skin is a lighter shade of black than his scales.

{Fish fish fish best fish - Ooooo, new people! Are they best fish?} She stared at the SUV hungrily, from her perch on Fynn's back. But Nadya quickly demanded her attention, and she delivered, her eyes never leaving the trainer's hand. Fynn brought her back to the water, and Cordelia dove in, swimming in a circle before she peeked just her eyes above the water, waiting for Nadya's signal.
{Nana will give Cordelia the best of the new fish if Cordelia does this one right!} She proclaimed proudly. She did not register the difference between the guests.. and treats.
Suffice it to say. Nadya noticed the look the mermaid was giving those meandering out of the SUV and quietly resolved that Ariel would not be hand-fed by anyone unless it was Nadya herself that did it. It seemed a bit dangerous.
For a brief second she stared at the man giving 'advice' and asking questions.
"They are beings. Human or not. They can entertain, but not if they don't wish to and not without proper amount of motivation." Nadya mentally tacked on 'much like humans' but she kept that in her head. It seemed that the attorney had caused a bit of insult on the Handler. While she would have said more she carefully kept that tied down and unsaid.
She wanted to keep her job.
Nadya tilted her head toward the man that asked about the kelpietaur, "His name is Fynn. He is a kelpietaur - uhhm...Water horse and man, hm? Sounds about right," toward the end she dissolved into quiet mutterings as if trying to question her own wording despite everyone being there and listening. The Russian woman spoke louder once more, "He is okay if you touch or pet him while the mermaid that was on his back, her name is Ariel," she gestured to the mermaid and then paused a moment, "she is best if left alone, generally. Ariel has those she trusts and distrusts. It is best to admire her from distance."
Suddenly she seemed to recall that Ariel was in the water and waiting for a cue. Nadya cleared her throat and did a signal, "Show them your best flip, Darling!" There were a couple of clicks from a clicker accenting the command.
Maybe the others will do a little something without command just purely out of desire for more food...? It had happened earlier and thus it gave her some hope of something impressive happening.

Waiting.. waiting.. waiting... pretty fishie floating in the water so pretty and red and - no must keep focus on Nana.. waiting.. waiting..
Cordelia heard the clicker and dove hard into the water, wiggling deep down until she reached the bottom. Seconds later she rocketed up forward, her fins catapaulting her into perfect circles in the air. She flipped, and flipped, and dove effortlessly back into the water without much of a splash. The jump had her sinking down, but she was floating back up as quickly as possible, her eyes peeking out from underneath the water to watch her handler intently. Either she was going to get rewarded, or another trick was at hand. Whatever the case may be, Cordelia's eyes were solely on Nadya.
Fynn gave Cordelia a winning smile as she slid off his back into the water, watching her ready herself for the trick she knew was coming. And the fish which would be the reward, of course. He didn't quite understand what Cordy meant by 'new people, are they best fish,' but she wasn't in the right mindset to listen to whatever answer he came up with anyway, so no harm done. Ducking under the water, Fynn decided to swim under the water the rest of the way back to the beach, cresting the waves just as it became too deep for him to stay under, his golden-copper hair glittering wet with saltwater.
Splashing back up onto the beach, he gave a glance towards the newcomers again, eyeing them for a second with distinct curiosity. Another man had joined them, it seemed, this one a lot less good-natured than Steve seemed to be, seeming, if nothing else, to be very concerned about quite a number of things that Fynn didn't understand. The word 'creature,' however, caught his attention abruptly, even more so when Good-Steve used it as well, and the Kelpietaur gave the two men a skeptical, quizzical look, one eyebrow raised.
Well, from Good-Steve's pointing, they seemed to be addressing him. And Nadya seemed to want to please them...
Meandering amiably towards them, Fynn sauntered right up to the little group which had begun to form from the SUV, close enough that it was clear he had no idea what person space was. At first, he merely peered at Harlan, giving him a friendly, albeit amused look before once again his attention was refocused to the notebook in the man's hand. -These people, so much scribbling. What is it they were doing with that stick?- he asked no one in particular. Instead, he circled them a bit to stand behind the two, quite literally leaning over their shoulders to look between the two notebooks, water dripping onto the paper as well as their clothing and hair. Of course, he couldn't decipher any of it. It all looked like one pretty, if a bit random looking, picture to him.

Nadya rewarded the mermaid's performance with a small but exotic fish, one that Ariel seemed to enjoy quite a bit each time the handler gave it to her. These were fish she was saving up for the performance. Nadya went as far as buying them from money out of her very paycheck rather than forcing the higher ups to order them for the event.
After a few moments she held up hand again, "One more feat, do a twirl in the air. Like ballerina, I showed you once!" Nadya even illustrated with a twirl of her own to remind the eager mermaid in the water.
She was glad that Fynn was being a good friendly boy. Nadya promised herself that she would give him a treat later as well.

The arrival of strange humans had Sanji's immediate, wary interest. While they were currently watching Cordelia perform another of her mundane tricks, the Shenlong uncoiled himself, and flew up into the air. He wanted a chance to study these new people before allowing them to get to close to him.
Sanji undulated in the air above the SUV, occasionally dipping lower to take a closer look at one person or another, but never close enough to touch.
