Wide-eyed and worried, Take shuffled back to Wickett with a new fax. "Um, Whorl messaged again. He want to change that...thing's area again." Face growing more and more incredulous he continued, "He thinks the giant gelatinous cube would look better in the Coast's center, something about a-a-watery environment bringing out it's shining personality?'" The man looked ready to cry, and handed the paper over to the security chief before running away again.

His job was to show the new guests just how fun everything was? Barry's face fell at the knowledge that there would be 'suits' onboard. Seriously, this was turning into the best real life experience of Jurassic park he had ever heard of. Except he had more then dinosaurs to deal with. Unicorns, Pegasus, fairies...Oh, and phoenixes.
And he had the fine honor of showing them around all these amazing creatures.
The day had hardly begun and he was ready to grab a scooner and hit the pub.
"Right mate." He said, mulling about as he mentally went over rehearsed lines in his head, as well as procedures and a trillion other things to boot

"Great," September lifted his head and grinned roguishly at Kiera, white teeth glinting against dark freckled skin. His unruly hair had been subsequently "tamed" in that it didn't defy the laws of physics quite so much at the moment. "You be the paragon of professionalism and cover for me while I find a way out of my clothes." He coughed, realizing how that sounded a bit too late and squinting at his phone.
After a moment, he fidgeted impatiently and unbent himself from his position (half crouched behind Kiera and Les's bodies) and smiled at the girl apologetically. "Sorry, I'm not used to this kind of thing. Suits, and lectures, and human contact. Well - in a professional sense of the word." He grinned crookedly and rubbed the back of his head - and his hair, which had been fragile in its tamed appearance, became abruptly unruly in every sense of the word.
September yanked his hand away with a grimace.
"Oops."
Professionalism was lost on him.
His phone buzzed though, saving him the suffering he was about to endure from his own mind.

you have to admit, its a good nickname. (´ε` )♡ and i am your divine god, your one and only. you mean you were sleeping, and a meeting just happened to happen wherever you were. you deserve a standing ovation.
Snapping his phone shut, September blinked at the tap on his back, whirling around. "Hey." He responded with a grin, bowing his head into the ruffling hand like a dog obediently asking for more pets, even though he returned the gesture by messing up some of the violently orange hair in return. "You're not helping the problem. And believe it or not I brushed my hair. I even... I tried to straighten it." His voice dropped an octave in nearly exaggerated devastation. "I think I broke it too."
He shook his head, and his hair, now completely defying the laws of physics, got even worse. "I knew it though!" He declared with a broad grin, reaching out to tug at the mans clothes with shaky hands that said he was less sure about this entire day than he seemed. "You do shape up nicely in a suit."
He then proceeded to roll his eyes at the question, tugging at his own tie in a fidgeting gesture. "Oh, grand, I'm sure. Until someone does something stupid." He gestured at the entire crew of staff milling about. "Or something goes wrong. And you know how it is - something always goes wrong."

"Paragons of professionalism," she emphasized again, wondering if that was her blood vessel she felt gently pulsing in her pocketed hand or the rhythmic beat of how she wanted to strike something.
Neala's rescue received a sigh, but Kiera let herself be dragged away a few inches before resisting. "One moment, let me say a few more words."
Les was correct, she supposed, but it was so easy to work her up that anxious was almost her norm at this point. "I can hardly relax now that we're opening the park to complete and utter strangers," Kiera replied stubbornly. "Now it's don't touch the barrier and keep your arms and legs away from the carnivores and constant. vigilance." She gave another sigh and ran a hand through her hair. "I'll try not to be so stiff, but I can't guarantee anything. Suppose I could send a text if things are so dire," she added in an undertone, passing the positively goofy pair of security men a raised brow. "'Grand' doesn't begin to describe it. Our jobs are hinging on everything going smoothly, so you best be putting those charming mannierisms into overtime. I'd rather be observing the effects of certain new measurements for the aging process," she added to September as a matter of factly, "and in fact have no great sense of what to do with human contact either."
If that wasn't clear already.
"But we must all make sacrifices for the greater good," she added, less enthused as the men began acting more like boys.
Melanie was ready to make the sacrifice.. of taking her lunch break early.

"I'm never ready," said Tobias brightly, still ruffling September's hair as though he were some sort of puppy bouncing around him. He ducked out of the other's reach grinning, reaching out to grab his wrist and pull his hand away from his own hair, smoothing it back down with his free hand.
"What problem," he deadpanned, but there was mischief in his eyes as he gave the other two a very knowing look, eyes twinkling with mischief. He still kept hold of September's wrist, though the gesture was subtle, hidden in the crowd as he slipped his fingers down to link them together, squeezing lightly before he let go.
He straightened a little, the grin on his face broadening at the compliment as Tobias adopted a fake British accent. "Why thank you. I do believe I look simply dashing in such attire, don't you?"
September's hands were shaking, and Tobias tilted his head a little, his expression kind as he sent the other a significant look, one that said calm down, it'll be all right. He brushed away some nonexistent lint from September's shoulders and said lightly to Les, "About as ready as I'll ever be! I'm sorry, I've seen you around, but I forget your name - I'm Tobias, by the way."
He stuck out a hand towards the man, and gave Keira a cheeky wink.
"Be careful what you say, people might actually think we have an important job to do here," said Tobias, in a melodramatic stage whisper, eyes wide with mock fright.

Wickett accepted the paper, growing increasingly dour.
"I have been doing my best to ensure we're ready, yes. The gelatinus cube-"
Take was already gone.
Wickett folded the paper so that it had very sharp edges.
"The gelatinus cube is acidic and has very specific environmental needs," he continued spitefully, mostly to himself.

Cecil had grown annoyed by the bustling crowd of staff, the ebb and flow whisking another beauty away from him. He sagged a bit, scanning the crowd before a young lady suddenly burst forth to try to get Wickett's attention. While the Security Head's back was turned from the fax, he stepped in with as charming smile as the scrawny little man could muster.
"I assure you, Miss...?" He forgot her name, and a glance down only drew his attention to the bust region. What were name tags again? "The creatures are completely subdued and docile. The kinks have been worked out. There hasn't been any... incidents... in ages. They're tamed, trained, and ready to perform! Don't think I don't have faith in our Handlers!"
Hannah answered her partner in tour guiding's wide smile with a lazy one of her own, "Yeah, it'll be interesting to finally see how them guests will like this place." And how many would lose one or more fingers to curiousity. Not that she was rooting for any to; at least not any in her group. She had a niggling feeling that allowing that sort of thing to happen on her watch would look bad on her employee record and man, this was the best job ever. Mermaids and fairies and things that go bump in the night, couldn't get much more interesting than that - she sure as hell wouldn't be losing this job over a few suits who might or might not be in possession of common sense. Not if she could help it. Note to self: remember to teach them standard security protocols. As soon as possible.
Sidling closer to the handler she'd been partnered with, Hannah offered a hand, "Hey, it was Ash, right?" If it wasn't, it was now. "Seen you around a couple of times, doing handler-y things." It was a bit inevitable that you'd know most people by sight in a facility like this, she reckoned; between hanging out at the staff lodging quarters and working in the same place, it was kind of a given. "I'm Hannah, which you already knew," lazy grin again, "but always nice to get a formal like introduction, yeah? Looking forward to workin' with ya on keeping the suits in hand."
Staff Name: Hannah Everett Job Description: Security - Centaur Group Tour Guide Physical Description: Tanned skin, brown eyes and ash blonde-brown hair usually up in a high ponytail with bangs framing her face, Hannah is an athletic 26 year old woman of about 175 cm's height. Usually found loudly chewing some exotic flavour of bubblegum. Brief Character Profile: Hannah generally takes to everything in life with a constant cheerful vigour and dogged determination to get things done. She's very sociable and has an ill-hidden romantic streak a mile wide. Despite her demeanour, she's quite competent at her job.

Jessie had been in the back, slightly distracted by the uniform they had been fitted with for a batch of oncoming visitors. Her notebook was at the ready, waiting to scribe the instructions for the day so everything could go forward with flying colors. But, she didn't get any and a small pout began to form when she didn't hear her name called to be assigned with a group.
Such a bummer. She was so sure she was ready. But, alas. The dark haired woman sighed, dejected a little as the only business she had to do was carry on with what she had been already at. Well, at least she would get to spend more time with the wonderful creatures on the island a little more.
"Good luck guys," Jessie called to her remaining co-workers (forcing a little cheer in her tone and all) with a little salute before she made her exit.

Tim, was for one, glad he was not on the list.
Less monitered work was always a blessing in disguise, he reflected, chewing on some gum. He shouldn't be smoking anyways and smokes were damned expensive--
Especially when they ran out so fast in a place like this, Time could swear that someone had been stealing his smokes lately. Besides, the scent of smoke clinging to his suit was never a good thing, as he stared around the room.
The park was opening and moods were various.
He needed more sleep. Which was something in precious commodity, as staff members rarely got a generous amount of sleep.

"Oh, good," September responded mildly, giving Kiera a look of mild amusement, "maybe we're one in the same after all. I'm - um," He looked up at Les and back to Kiera, "September. I don't think we ever really introduced ourselves properly - though I may have eaten some of your leftovers from the kitchen, sorry in advance."
September wasn't exactly one not to forage in the middle of the night for food without exactly looking at name tags on strange, potentially life-threatening cartons after all.
"And my charming mannerisms are always on overtime. Whatever left of them there is." He rumbled, his voice dipping nearly melodically into a mischievous tone. His attention, however, quickly eased back towards Tobias once the man spoke again. "Yes, always a master of improvisation." He drawled, making a face when his wrist got caught instead of catching more of that violently orange hair between his fingers to play with. Though, no matter how much he raked his nails through it, there was no chance of making it nearly as impossible as his own. His own fingers caught Tobias's without effort, his thumb grazing against the skin at the base of the mans wrist and rubbing gentle circles there briefly before the contact was lost. Professionalism and all that, or whatever.
September just wanted to be back in a lab coat feeding dragons as soon as he could.
He couldn't help but snicker at the fake accent. "Dashing indeed." He responded in a drawling British tone. "You have positively outdone yourself this time, sir. Now we must find you a suitable companion for the entire affair." He exhaled slowly in return, watching Tobias like he was trying to find a shelter from an oncoming storm. His eyes lit slightly, and the shaking seemed to subside, if only for now. Thank you. His entire body seemed to convey. Be safe.
After all, it was no small secret that they weren't exactly working a job at the local pillow store, where the scariest thing that could happen would be someone choking on a feather. There were true monsters here, no matter how fun they tried to sell it. Sedated ones, yes, but creatures were creatures. September had spent his life around wild animals. He knew what they could do.
Huffing at the act to brush away invisible lint, September straightened and adjusted his clothing, making himself out to be a properly held gentleman for all of two seconds before he dissolved into a helpless laugh, his hand reaching up to cover Tobias's for a moment. "Which is not at all," He teased ruthlessly. To Les and the others, he grinned with suitable amusement. "Be careful around him. He seems a fair match for a fun time, but he's disastrous to your health with prolonged exposure."
It was a gentle tease, and September flashed a smile, white teeth beneath countless freckles to prove that point.
It helped lessen the nervousness at least - teasing Tobias, speaking to people they would be working with for a long time if everything went according to plan. Almost enough to make September forget the boats carrying loads of strangers towards them at this very minute, ready to ogle their precious beasts and have a say in their secret world that was about to become not so secret at all.

Apples had sugar at least, right?
Man, he could really go for another Butterfinger.

Les gave the departing Keira a somewhat forlorn look as she was pulled away. She might have been an uptight little thing, but she was perfectly good company, and quite easy on the eyes. He was sorry to see her go. "See you later, Keira. Definitely Text if you need anything. Try to relax." As if that was likely to happen.
Attention drifting back to the pair of young men that had joined him, he offered a smile as he took Tobias' hand and gave it a shake. "Hi, I'm Les." One would think that after spending so long a time on the island with limited personal one would have learned the majority of their co-worker's names, but Les had really only bothered to remember those of the lab techs, and a few of female handlers and security guards.
Speaking of. "If you gentlemen will excuse me a moment." He grinned, patted September on the shoulder, and slipped between him so he could make his way over to Melanie.
The handler would find an arm suddenly draped over her shoulder, and a low voice rich with humor next to her ear. "You're going to give the good doctor an aneurysm one day."

Abigail frowned a little at the very idea that something as cute and harmless and squishy as the gelatinous cube could ever be a cause for concern. "Oh, Mr. Wickett, I'm sure it's not the cube's fault," Abigail started, but got distracted when someone stepped between them.
"Oh, Mr. Moore, hello, I'm Abigail," she enabled bubbled up at him. "I'm so happy that we have your support! I promise, I'll do everything I can to ensure the happiness and safety of the creatures! And the guests too, of course, but what if the presence of so many people stresses the creatures out?" Abigail started to fret. "What if the creatures get scared and run away? There's no guarantee the guests will be as nice to them as we are!"
