I do not and will never lie....not about beliefs of anyone....such is sacred.

I'm not saying you're lying, I'm saying you're completely wrong in regards to this post that you made:

kesuke uchiha

(did some research)

Mormon heaven= 1.You become a God equal to your creator
2. no black people
3. your wife(s) become your personal sex slaves that you can trade and barter with to gain other wives.
4. you get your own world to be God over
5. your personal sex slaves have the sole purpose of pleasing you sexually and bearing your children.

am I missing anything?

You may not be lying, but you are certainly contradicting yourself--I have a very hard time believing this information showed up on "at least four legit sites". If you are going to try so hard at the beginning to convince everyone that you are talking about facts instead of falsehood, at least follow up with that for the rest of the thread.

kesuke uchiha

you should really read the book of mormon.....those were DIRECT quotes.
before the 70s the mormon church NEVER denied the words in their book. saying that ALL blacks were cursed.
if you refuse this or call it a lie...then you are denying Momonism.
your book of mormon is racist...there is no way around it.
it says that if a man is black. he is cursed and it DOES say...that if he repents and lives a pure life within Mormonism...then he will turn white and be able to come into the kingdom of heaven.
though...I pose this question to you

you are incapable of denying racism in the book of mormon....unless you truly think that you can be so blind that you think the WHOLE world is just outright lying and you refuse to look into your own book.

I'm pretty sure I've read the book of mormon more thoroughly than you. And I'm pretty sure I know the difference between a quote and a paraphrase. The quotes aren't the problem--you're the one who's interpreting the quotes in completely the wrong way. You aren't even interpreting the quotes in a way that makes sense. You're the one "denying Mormonism"-- I'm the one telling it as it is. You're saying that the LDS church teaches one thing, while it actually teaches something completely different. You can think whatever you want, but that won't change what the church actually teaches. So no, you're not lying--you're just blind to reality.

kesuke uchiha

SO!
the book of Mormon is indeed racist....its just there...no denying it or trying to maneuver your way around it.
but in the 70s the mormon church withdrew their racist doctrine. though the book of mormon remained the same. however.
Blacks can now become Mormon priests and are welcome into the church.
so....who was wrong?
only three ways to answer.....either...God is racist......or God lied.....or....Joseph Smith was a liar.
those are the ONLY three ways to answer. choose one
or just try and BS us in maneuvering your way around it all .......again

Of your three options, "Joseph Smith was a liar" is probably the least absurd. Of course he wasn't a liar, but he may have been mistaken about some things because, as I said before, he is only human and all humans make mistakes.

By the way, in case you haven't realised what kind of impression your giving of yourself, here it is:

"Umm, hi guys. I was just wondering if anyone could explain something to me about this religion. I don't want to cause a fight or anything, I'd just really like it if someone could answer my questions. I repeat, I do not want to ruffle anyone's feathers, I just want to hear someone else's opinion. What's this, someone actually did answer my question? Yeah well, you're wrong. The direct, honest answer you gave me to my question is nothing but BS. No amount of logic or reason is going to the change the fact that I am right and you are wrong--I don't even need to give a decent explanation about why I'm right, I just am because I said so. So there."

Do you see the problem? Honestly, it's the apparent change in personality halfway through that really gets to me. It looks exactly as if you're just putting on an act in your first post-- trying to sound as civil and open-minded as possible to try to reel in responses, even though you are neither civil nor open minded in any of your following posts. What you post makes you seem very hypocritical--if that wasn't the effect you were going for it would be wise of you to take a lesson from this. I'm not trying to insult you or anything, I just think that if you're concerned about looking like a sincere person you should be more careful not to write hypocritically.

so....for 120 years the mormon church pointing out in the book of mormon where joseph smith wrote it. saying black people cannot go to heaven was just a mistake that he and EVERY LAST MORMON LEADER made until the 70s?
your ENTIRE foundation...of over 100 years....of ""mistakes""
is that what you are trying to explain here?

Our friend Keito is being kind enough to share her faith with us even though this whole thread smacks of faith bullying. I think that's really impressive, because if I were her, I would have said "see ya" a while ago.

I quit a bunch of other Christian guilds in favor of this one because everyone seemed pretty welcoming and tolerant. I'm pretty upset to find that that is untrue.

As far as I see, she has been giving you honest answers the whole time. As guild captain, I cannot and WILL not tolerate any faith bullying or slander. Thank you Ophelia for bringing this thread to my attention. Kesuke, I suggest you take a step back and really read into what she is saying. At this point, it seems to me like you are determined to find something bad to say. Friendly debates are fine, however, this is becoming more of a personal vendetta than a friendly debate. If this doesnt stop, I will delete this thread and issue a warning.

all I want is one clear answer....and I know that that one clear answer cannot be given without admitting that the faith is false...
that was my ONLY point....I have people in this faith that are dear to me....and it does not take very much to just look and see the truth.
I deeply apologize for being offensive. but....the truth WILL SET YOU FREE.

I did not lie once.....I did not make anything up to bash the mormon church. all I did is present facts and ask questions then questions about the answers.
though...I do admit. I was slightly too aggressive. and for that I apologize

Nobody owes you answers. If all you're looking for is for people to agree with you, you already have all the answers you need about the subject.

Thank you for your apology. Now let's leave it.

all I want is one clear answer....and I know that that one clear answer cannot be given without admitting that the faith is false...

So you're not looking for an intelligent or honest answer, you're just asking the question and trying to maneuver whoever's answering into answering the way you want them to answer, that is by "admitting that the faith is false." I'm not angry with you, but I do find it sad that you don't even realize or recognize your own logical loopholes and hypocricies.

kesuke uchiha

that was my ONLY point....

If you were just trying to make that point then please, in the future just declare so in the opening post. Don't pretend to be interested in hearing the opinions of others if you're not.

kesuke uchiha

I guess it will just have to wait until I am in a more humble environment

No environment you enter will be humble until you realize that you aren't right all the time, as you now seem to believe.

Not to fan the flames, but...kesuke uchiha, I'm sorry, you really were being a bully. I don't think that was your intention, but it is how you came off, and I just think it's important that you recognise that so as to try to avoid such behaviour in the future.

There are times when we need to sometimes admit that we are not an authority on a certain subject, even a subject that we may have very strong opinions about, and defer to someone who knows more factual information on the topic. In this case, a practising Mormon. You may not like her faith, but you at least have to admit that she's much more likely to know the teachings of her faith than you. And when someone is trying to civilly correct misinformation and answer questions, and is met with only hostility...that's not cool. I'm not trying to make you feel like a five-year-old getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar. You seem like a good-hearted person and I harbour no ill will towards you. I just want to be sure you understand where and how you may have erred a little to avoid any future drama.

And Miss Keito, a thousand thanks for your even-temperedness and willingness to share and educate. I hope you don't feel shunned or like you shouldn't be here. We're happy to have you, and I hope your future guild activity is better.

Hi there, how's it going? I don't mean to rekindle old flames, but I learned more about the subject since last we talked and I realize now that part of what I said before was wrong. I am posting now to correct myself. I'm not looking for an argument--you don't even have to reply--I just didn't want to leave you with incorrect, or rather incomplete, information.

When first you asked me, I had no idea why the priesthood might have been withheld from people of colour during the early history of the church. Lacking a better explanation I assumed it must have been some sort of mistake on the part of the prophets. I was wrong. The priesthood has been around since the time of Adam--in his time it was available only to the patriarchs. In the time of Moses, the priesthood was only available to the men of the tribe of Levi. During Christ's time the priesthood was available only to the Israelites. After Christ's death it was revealed to one of the apostles (Paul I think) that the priesthood should be made available to the gentiles as well. When the gospel was first restored to the earth the availability of the priesthood was still limited as it had been before the apostasy, but eventually it was extended to all worthy male members of the church. There were several ethnic groups throughout history who's men were unable to receive the priesthood for a certain length time, despite being worthy members. This was not because of discrimination, it was because missionary work spread the gospel quickly, while the steady expansion of priesthood availability proceeded at a slower pace.

Journal of Discourses 10:110-111; “Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so.” – Brigham Young, Salt Lake City, March 8, 1863

In 1852, while addressing the Utah Territorial Legislature, Young stated, "Any man having one drop of the seed of Cain ... in him cannot hold the Priesthood and if no other Prophet ever spoke it before I will say it now in the name of Jesus Christ I know it is true and others know it."

Many LDS church documents and church leaders asserted that dark skin was an indication of sin or a curse. One belief held by some LDS members was that skin color of Native Americans would gradually change from dark to light as they repented of their sins.

"You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable and low in their habits, wild, and seemingly deprived of nearly all the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind. The first man that committed the odious crime of killing one of his brethren will be cursed the longest of any one of the children of Adam. Cain slew his brother. Cain might have been killed, and that would have put a termination to that line of human beings. This was not to be, and the Lord put a mark upon him, which is the flat nose and black skin. Trace mankind down to after the flood, and then another curse is pronounced upon the same race -- that they should be the "servant of servants;" and they will be, until that curse is removed." - Brigham Young, Quotation from Journal of Discourses

And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.
— 2 Nephi 5:21

Greeley: What is the position of your church with respect to slavery?

Young: We consider it a divine institution, and not be abolished until the curse pronounced on Ham shall have been removed from his descendents.

Greeley: Are any slaves now held in this [Utah] territory?

Young: There are.

Greeley: Do your territorial laws uphold slavery?

Young: Those laws are printed—you can read for yourself. If slaves are brought here by those who owned them in the states, we do not favor their escape from the service of those owners.
Brigham Young - Mormon prophet
Interview with Horace Greeley, Salt Lake City, Utah, July 13, 1859

they all prove you wrong so just pick one and deal with it. mormonism just started as a racist cult/con and now its just a REALLLLY big cult. one that lies and contradicts its own words all in order to adapt to the current culture.

I am sorry for being harsh.....but some lessons need to be learned through truth.

....are you really that brainwashed
ALL men were created equal
Galatians 3:28 - There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

John 7:24
Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”

1 John 2:9
Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness

John 13:34
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another

Acts 10:34-35
So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him"

The mormon church has CLEARLY stated that blacks are black because of their sin and therefore and NOT able to enter heaven or take up the position of priesthood. I DO NOT CARE what it is today....YOUR FOUNDATION is a racist and ignorant one. it basically declared one race a group of satanists. because of the color of their skin. and they have the gall to call it divine.
the bible CLEARLY shows that ALL men were created equal...that it truly doesnt matter what color you skin is. we are ALL brothers and sisters in christ.

racism is just ONE of the great many problems that plague the mormon faith. starting with its "holy prophet" which was just a con man pervert who was racist who had a juvenile fantasy which he turned into a reality by coning an entire group of people which turned into a cult which survives to this very day. and yes...I can prove all of this.....using historical documents I can show you his lies again and again and again. I can show you the things he used to make his book of mormon and how they either predate the book of mormon and share the exact same story or how they where ""translated"" by joseph smith and in the end are actually completely and utterly unrelated because they can be actually translated now. (lost book of abraham)
it doesnt matter.....for ever tiny shred of ""proof"" or support you can muster...i can counter it...with historical PROOF biblical PROOF and counter dict it with you OWN writings.

please....for your own salvation.....just let it go. the ONLY way you can stay here in the face of all of this and STILL be mormon is called brain washing.
there is no proof God exists...but we believe in him because we pray and things happen.....because we have faith.....we dont need proof.....but the bible tells us to test our prophets.....if we get one.....a prophet of God.....he MUST be tested. to just accept him is a sin and is warned against in the bible....he was tested and failed
do you want me to bring you his failed prophecies?. he made dozens
in God we trust and believe....if any man stands up to declare himself a part of God.....he is to be tested. he is subject of fact and truth. he is not infallible. and Joseph Smith failed again and again and again.
God doesnt need to be proven...but a prophet does. and nothing can prove joseph smith to be right

I have no wish to carry on a discussion with you. However much these topics interest me you have shown again and again that you don't care what I say, so I will not bother saying anything.
