The jarring impact sent a brief pins and needles sensation through Major's leg, and he came back down into a crouch, hovering over Salem, who would likely have one nasty headache. The dulling ache in his ribs caused the champ to briefly think twice about his next actions before he opted to cowboy up and do it anyway, attempting to hook his opponent's arms behind his back in a double underhook, having every intention of trying to drag the Asylum champion up to his feet so that he could launch him overhead with a Butterfly Suplex if successful.

Salem had tried to bring the heavyweight champion down, but it was simply no good. Major had felt some of the force behind the rookie's improvised spear, but it failed to derail the Master of Disaster's aggression, merely kneeling him while the Next-Generation Sensation lay limp at his feet following the skull-splitting knee. Unprepared and unsuspecting, Salem felt himself being hoisted up before being thrown head-over-heels towards the ropes, spine bouncing off the mat in an inhuman fashion. Limbs contorted in agony, Salem cried out in pain from the force of impact.

With a sadistic gleam to his eyes and a sneer plastered across his face, Major stalked his opponent like a lion on the trail of a wounded animal, just waiting for Salem to start getting back up so that he could attempt to slam his combat boot into the lower back of the "next generation sensation" with a wicked soccer kick.

Salem was slowly starting to recover from the crippling sensation of having been heaved across the canvas, but for once in his life Salem considered the potential in playing possum as the heel's heel struck him straight in the back, beating the battered lad limp against the mat. He could feel the tread in Major's soles digging into his flesh, sparking a cry from the Asylum Champion that stirred the hearts of those in the arena and filled them with worry for what dastardly deeds Devastation dare do next.

The hard thud of Major's boot slamming into Salem's spine drew a grimace from the crowd, as well as a pained cry from the Asylum champion that was music to the Devil Dog's ears. For good measure, and to add insult to injury, Devastation began grinding the heel of his boot into the small of Croft's back as he asked in a mocking tone, loudly enough for the audio pick-ups for the televised broadcast and those sitting in the first few rows to hear, "What's wrong, kid? Playing with the big boys proving too much to handle?"

Having Major's heel dug into his lumbar was no pleasant experience for Salem, the rookie struggling to keep a grip on his senses despite the pain shooting along his spine. The fans pandered to Devastation's expectations, jeering him for the excessive and degrading assault. But perhaps going against the grain, Salem tried to catch his world-title toting opponent by surprise. Knowing he'd find a hard time of clawing his way to the ropes, the most explosive young entertainer in E:E tried to buck his shoulders to the side while trying to smack his forearm into the back of Major's knee? Hoping to roll the big man off and momentarily ground him with a leg sweep from the canvas!

It would seem that Salem had earned himself a temporary reprieve as the champ found his feet no longer underneath him. Unbalanced by the rookie's unorthodox counter, Major landed flat on his back wearing an expression that could only be described as "What the ******** just happened?"

The crowd cheered in support of Salem as he managed to unseat the world champion from his vertical base, dropping the Danger Dog with his successful attempt at rolling to his stomach. His back still ached, head still throbbed with the lingering pains that the match had already settled into his senses, but despite this the rookie still pressed on to get back to his feet. Slapping the mat to both encourage the crowd and revitalize his awareness, the Next-Generation Sensation started pressing with his forearms in effort to stand back up.

Unfortunately for Salem, Major's befuddlement was short lived and the Texan Terror's ribs had plenty of time to rest while he was dishing out the punishment to Croft's back

The fact that the ring had considerably better shock absorbing properties than the concrete floor meant that the champ's unexpected bump took a lot less out of him than the last time he found himself in this situation, and it was only a matter of moments before the big man had rolled over and pushed himself back up to a three-point stance.

The fans were clapping incrementally in time with Salem's rise from the canvas, and the brave rookie champion used their momentum and channelled it to plant his feet and ascend to the occasion. With a grimace, he fought through the ache in his joints and bones, getting back to a vertical base while Major was poised unknowingly across the ring. Turning around, Salem appeared momentarily dazed, as though he'd not been aware that the Devil Dog had already gotten back to his feet in preparation for an attack.

While Salem was working his way back up to his feet, Major was crouching like a predator waiting for the right moment to strike. Once his opponent turned toward him, the Evolution Champion would surge forward as he attempted to blast the rookie with a vicious spear!

Though the Asylum Champion had managed to get back up to his feet, the audience's excitement would be short-lived as Major pounced on the wounded Salem, his body rag-dolling from the force of impact behind the 'Devastating' spear. His body sent sprawling back down to the mat, Croft's spine struck the canvas and knocked the breath from his lungs, crowd letting out a mixed reaction of shock and distaste for what just happened.

The fans were captivated by the match at hand thus far; both competitors had been giving their all so far, and the fans were returning the favor with their support or hatred. All except for one man sitting in the front row. He wore a hoodie and black jeans, with the hood pulled over his face to hide his face from the public. He watched the match in silence, his eyes not leaving the man named Major Devastation the entire time.

He sat near the corner that Major was croutching in, keeping the man perfectly in his vision. Right as the action was coming to a climax and Major was taunting for the spear, the man stood up from his seat with the rest of the crowd and watched as he nailed Salem into the ground with the brutal tackle. The man picked something up from the ground before hopping over the barricade, wasting no time to dash into the ring on the side opposite of Major Devastation. He slid in and pushed up to his feet with the item in tow; that item just so happened to be a baseball bat.

With the baseball bat tight in his hands, the hooded man charged across the ring towards The Devil Dog. Before he could go for a pin or stand, the man attempted to bring the baseball bat crashing down against Major's lower back!

Between the sensation of his shoulder colliding with Salem's ribcage, driving the air out of the upstart's lungs while sending him crashing to the mat, and hearing the jeers of the crowd, Major felt like he was on top of the world. Unfortunately, that sensation would be short-lived, as he was totally unaware of the ring jumper --and apparently, so were the arena security posted in the floor-level seating, who did nothing to stop the hooded man from smashing the Devil Dog in the back with a baseball bat!

Just as the Jarhead Juggernaut was preparing to hook his opponent's leg after spearing the living hell out of him, he felt a sudden, sharp pain in the small of his back, which drew a pained yelp from the Master of Disaster. With the attack happening in plain sight, the referee had no choice but to call for the bell and end the match.

The sound of the bell echoed through the arena, but the hooded man made no motion to stop. Raising the baseball bat high in the air once more, he attempted to bring it downward onto the Evolution Champion again with furious force, hitting him wherever he could as the man was sure to move.
