[Shenja]

Shenja didn't mind the wet sands, he didn't mind the robes. He had changed his mind about standing. The thrumming was what he cared about. What a sound! What a feeling!

He was excited. He could barely keep still! Duty wasn't the point, it was a great event!

oo! Oooo! The eggs! The eggs were hatching! What would come out? Well, dragons, duh, but that wasn't what he meant. Dragons thought, right? Dragons had minds?
So what sort of mind would come out of each shell?

Two greens had hatched, and he decided to make a guess, though the larger green charged past him and... was that impression? Wow! What a beautiful sight! Were those rainbows?!
He grinned. Well, there. That was the time limit. Figure out a dragon's personality before they impressed! This would be a fun game.

He giggled at the puzzled little green. She could see, yes she could! A comedian, maybe? Or a bit clutzy?
Shenja realized he didn't actually have a win condition for this game. But he didn't care!

Oooooh, she was circling. Maybe playful? Maybe indecisive? No, no, playful was more like it!
Oh! She was coming close. She right?
And she stopped in front of him in an impressive spray of sand and a legstand and...
And...

It was amazing, this feeling. It was closeness like nothing he had ever felt before. His mind was touching hers. Kalteth's. HIS KALTETH.

"I did see." he said, breathlessly, reaching out to touch her, unbelieving. Was this impression?
Impression was too little to describe this... this melding. This perfection. It was like he had been looking for her all his life.
"Theres... Theres lots to, and more if we look." Her skin was soft. His Kalteth's skin was soft.

"Of course we are!" Shenja felt a little more himself. Well, more himself than he had ever remembered being. "But you're right, food is the first step!"

"Well of course!" Shenja stuck his tongue out and then laughed, "It's always food!"

"And then..." he hesitated. And then what after food? What future was his now? Something beautiful and full of amazing things, that was for sure! "Something. Lets figure it out over some meat" that was where he was going, right? Kalteth's hunger agreed.

They began walking to the meat. Diedre was, for once, forgotten. His Kalteth, and the adventure-filled future she promised, were all that mattered in that moment.

Thrarothar
Grrrrr. Thrarothar ground his teeth. He shouldn’t have to be standing here again. But he was. With all the indignities he could imagine. Then to top it all off that brat and his dragon had come walking by. M’rine apparently hadn’t seen him, but he glowered anyway. Then the candidate master was talking. Right, to the left. Thrarothar shuffled in and headed to the left. Finding himself a somewhat taller sandy dune to stand on. He almost had a good vantage point here.

He watched the first dragon hatch. A green. After a quick gaze down his nose at the young female he turned his attention back to the clutch. He had much higher goals. Then another green hatched. Thrarothar rolled his eyes. When were they going to get the meat of this clutch? One green came charging through the boys and then impressed to one, soon followed by the other green. He barely noticed the boys leading the two dragons away.

(Vaail and Naanash)

A second impression? Vaail gave the boy a grin and a small wave of congrats. The greens hadn't been meant for him, completely okay since they found their bondmates and impressed safely. No baby lost between and perhaps the Guardian egg will hatch and spill out a different color. The little greens were lovely but he wanted to see more color. Array of color, all colors.

Naanash smiled as the second green impressed and took the moment to check on his flit. Harbinger emotions were a violent churn of aawww it is cute, warm, I am angry simply to be angry and frag off already. A soft press sent him the images of a few flits she thought were way to close to her presence and a general feel of irritable. He pressed adoration down the line and turned to the eggs.

Everything about this _place had been moving a little too quickly for Kharmeen. He personally liked taking things slowly. But he supposed the urgency of the situation between the wherholds, the storm, the districts or whatever, and now this... He could only hope that life would slow down. Kharmeen was sure if he didn't impress this round, he was ready to go home. He missed the ocean, his family, and he missed being where he belonged.

And speaking of quickly, two quirky little greens hatched out abd before you could blink or spit, they had made their way through the boys and found their riders. Maybe, this hatching would be to the point and no craziness would occur. Kharmeen shuffled side to side in the middle of the pack, easily seeing a lot of the action due to his height. Spotting his cousin and her beast, he gave a grin and half wave.

Becka had been busy checking over the supplies and keeping an eye on Bereck that she didn't notice the first two Hatchlings cracking their shells and she only noticed the first Candidate's Impression when they walked to the feeding tables. "Oh! what pretty Greens Bereck" she said with a smile as the second Green also Impressed, again to a boy... not that gender mattered it just left slightly less options open for the female candidates.

"I'm glad they've Impressed so quickly out of the shell, hopefully it bodes well for the rest of the clutch huh Master Bereck?" she commented, keeping her eyes on the rest of the eggs now, she didn't want to miss anymore of the hatching than she already had, she REALLY hoped that all Cepheith's eggs would hatch Healthy dragons.

Kaeyne kept to the back. He'd dressed hurriedly, robe yanked on with a soft muffled grumble. The days from Hatching to Hatching sped by at a disgusting rate, the candlemarks having melted together into a lump of sevendays, months, and now the clutch he'd initially Stood for.. they were almost full grown.

Life worked oddly.

The shorter Candidate watched the small green dragonets with narrowed eyes, something like a smile on his face. They seemed unbothered by the water - and if he were to be honest, that made something like relief curl in his chest. Abrupt and rough around the edges, yes, but even he wouldn't like to see infants hurt. He'd not expected the green to start circling about, the wide shouldered man edging in in order to not get too close to a dragon that may not be his.

She looked. He froze. She found another and Kaeyne let out a slow, slow breath - not from relief (who wanted to be looked over by a dragon?!) but realization his life hadn't changed.

Yet.

He looked to the remaining eggs, rubbed his hands on the sharding ugly Candidate uniform. Guh.

Niyx
She watched as the two greens hatched circling around the candidates looking for their potential riders. It didn't take them long to make their choices it would seem as one by one two new riders walked off the sands. Smiling softly she shook her head and turned back to the other eggs. Maybe her partner was among them as well just waiting to hatch and meet her. Well at least it was clear the rolly polly egg despite it's slightly odd shape had been healthy enough. Same thing with the antsy egg. Other then slightly unsteady footing the waterlogged sands didn't seem to be having too detrimental of an effect on the hatching. Luckily so far all the red in the green's eyes had just been the red of hunger and not anger.

The Guardian Egg began to shake more violently as the dragonet within strained to break shell. Around it, other eggs were beginning to shake as well, and the Obnoxious Egg began to tilt and wobble in the quest for freedom, echoing the movement of an eye with the way the spot on the egg was situated. An optical illusion, sure, but a few of the Candidates looked away, unnerved by the egg.

Just as well, the Guardian egg finally broke and a dark hatchling slipped forward onto ungainly legs. A few awkward steps and a shake to rid itself of the goo, the remarkably composed young dragon turned out to be a dark blue. Lifting his head and arching his neck, he looked ready to take to the skies already if it weren't for the newly born wings still too-big and dragging along the sand a bit.

Not to be outdone, the Obnoxious egg teetered far to the back and tipped itself into a roll that sent it knocking against its newly born brother. The top of the egg burst out in a spray of goo and shell as it flexed and stood back, wings flaring in its own grand entrance to reveal another green. Playfully, she braced against her brother and chirruped at him as if to goad the blue into a game.

Becka's heart pounced as another egg began to shake, rather more violently than she thought it should have to, the spot on it's shell making her blink and shake her head a little as it almost appeared to be LOOKING .. but how could it, it was just the shell.

When it broke it took a few moments to realise the color .. oh a Blue.. "Look at his neck arch like that!" she murmured to Bereck, The wings dragging along the sands perhaps looked slightly larger than normal, perhaps that was another illusion due to where she was standing.

Oh! another egg fell against the blue, Becka started a little, was the blue hurt? .. No it didn't seem like it. She had to let out a small gasp as the top of the egg burst and she was glad she wasn't among the candidates near the egg and was with the healers. Oh! oh she was another Green. So far each egg had hatched quickly once it began it's shaking, would these two make their Impressions as fast as their sisters had? .. Becka hoped so because the sands were still damp and she knew what damp conditions could do to a newborn human baby, who knew what it could do to the larger but perhaps even more delicate, Un-Impressed Hatchlings.

(Jemi and Wen )

"Come on eggies," Jemi muttered, leaning slightly to get a clearer look as the Guardian egg split into a black? Nope, definitely blue, deep, deep blue. Dark and posed and dragging his wings and there went the goat eye egg. Jemi gave a snort, watching it roll and smack right into it brother and explode? Did eggs explode. "Is exploding eggs common?" she asked. A third green.

"It matters on the eggs. Hyweth's exploded on average." Wen smiled, looked at the pair of hatching as the green tried to get her brother to play with her. "They look healthy." Three greens and a blue so far then. Eight eggs to hatch including the largest in the clutch.

Two down and who knew how many more to go.

Insanely curious to get a better view of the newly hatchly, Sahar shuffled forward while gently pushing someone on the shoulder with a quiet "excuse me". The spoken to gave him a glance before shuffling aside to allow the farm boy a chance to look.

He blinked and blinked a few times rapidly afterwards as the egg seemed to blink and stare at them all. But the illusion faded when the egg burst open to reveal a regal-colored Blue. Sahar gave a gesture of admiration as the forementioned hatchling arched his neck; "Looks to be a real flyer, that one." He smiled, voice quiet as a green sister-sibling joined the Blue not too long afterwards. "And she looks like a playful, little mite. A real sweetheart."

Oh sure, he knew he was talking to himself.
Eh, whatever. Not a big deal.

The green pushed a bit on her brother and it caused him to stumble, elliciting a grumble of irritation as he flicked his tail and moved away, stoic gaze turning on the Candidates gathered. This, however, brought him close to the Territorial egg and it ruptured suddenly as the hatchling within finally had enough of things being close.

A brightly marked head shot out as the hatchling huffed and puffed and hissed, teeth bared before it had fully emerged. Startled, the Guardian blue reared up and hissed back as the newly arrived dragon - also a blue - stalked forward with his wings mantled. When he gained space, he turned to hiss at the other eggs, reprimanding for how close they'd gotten. They were all so close and this was his space!

Meanwhile, the green followed and bounced around as the blue hissed, forelimbs out like a playing kitten to bat at the air before she tumbled and rolled, staggering in her attempt to get up and ended up knocking against a Candidate. She mewled. This was not Hers!

(Vaail )

Blue! Yes! Vaail grinned as the dark blue worked his way out of the dark brown and golden egg. Different colors were awesome not that greens were not lovely little things but he did enjoy rich deep blue tones. And a green? The goat eye egg ended up green and that might be a bit fitting considering the rumors he heard about greens. Still what a lovely little lady, playful and ooh the guardian blue didn't want to play.

Huggh, angry, angry blue. Exploding rupturing angry blue. If Harbinger was a dragon and ugh, he got savaged once by a flit and that had been horribly unpleasant. He didn't want to be smacked about by a blue dragon, again... considering the little green had knocked him down and at least the blue was pretty.

Aw! Sahar could not help but label her "adorable" with a full sense of the word as she watched her playful antics on the sands.

But that warm feeling quickly crumbled to pieces as a second, and more aggressive Blue erupted onto the sands. If he remembered right, this particular egg was not happy about about people in his personal space; judging from the angry sounds, that bubble had been popped and popped hard. His brother didn't look happy about this either, if his counter-reaction was anything to judge by.

Oh boy....Here's to hoping they didn't go at each other.

(Naanash)

Naanash hadn't expected a blue from the Guardian egg, he had thought maybe a brown one of the supposedly solid colors. He shook his head, lips twitching. He shouldn't bet on anything considering that flits as a whole were suppose to be friendly and he was impressed to a crackskull warrior queen that like eating the eyes of whatever she hunted first.

He hated that egg. Not for the dragonet, he hadn't touched it but the swirling eye pattern and the goat like pupil and he just didn't like certain farm animals. Specially ones prone to head butting. A green? Would the new green choose from the boys like the first two?

He turned his head and paused as the first blue ended up close to the territorial egg and it burst into a second blue. A blue that reminded him of Harbinger, hatching full of fire and teeth and this might not end up pleasant.

Rolling green? He guess the sand dunes of the sand did lead to rather dangerous footing for something so young.
