Haides nodded. He couldn't argue with that; his current happiness was, at least in part, a result of Beta and her ability. "Though sometimes she gets lost in the interior," he said, amused. And at that point, Haides would call her back to reality.
Beta nodded, smiling. "Mm-hmm!" Her smile brightened as she looked down--this time at her son. "But Delta was the one who noticed."

Serenity laughed lightly, knowing Haides was right, Beta did get lost looking at the inside of people.
"Well, maybe she thinks the interior is nicer than the exterior. In the world we live in, I cannot say I totally blame her sometimes,"Serenity admitted.
"Well, it seems Delta has a form of his mother's gift then. Should be interesting to see what he can do in time,"Jaromila smiled.

Haides shrugged. "I can't argue with that logic." With all that he'd been through, with all that Beta'd been through... he could see why she'd want to get lost in a more ideal interior.
Beta nodded, nuzzling her little duckling of a son. When the foal retreated to her back leg, she giggled. "Dee, I think your brother's waking up," she informed her brother and best friend as she escorted Delta away from the stirring stallion.

Serenity knew her whole family had been through more than their fair share of trouble and it saddened her sometimes. Then she remembered the good and knew that is what she fought for and loved. When she heard what Beta called over, she turned to see Haides's twin starting to move.
"Let us see if your sister helped him at all,"Serenity spoke.
"Aright, looks like we need to be prepared,"Jaromila spoke, backing up to where her mate stood, staying close to him.

Haides nodded slowly, watching his brother for a moment before going over to him.
Itzal struggled to get to his feet--and would've failed if not for the support of Haides. His expression was dazed, his eyes vacant as he leaned against his brother. The red stallion looked utterly exhausted.

Serenity watched her son help her brother, wanting to help too, but knowing that she was still very much a stranger to the red stallion. So, she stayed back with her daughter-in-law, seeing what would happen.
"Son, what are you sensing?"Serenity asked softly.
"Is he going to be alright?"Jaromila added.

"... He's still disoriented from whatever Beta did. Apparently it's shocked his system." Haides nodded to his mate's question. "He's weak, but he should be fine."
Itzal's ears twitched at the sounds, his gaze slowly lifting to Jaromila and Serenity. If he recognized them, it didn't show on his face. He let his head droop again, still relying almost completely on Haides's support to keep him upright.

Serenity nodded her head to her son, then looked over to her daughter, wondering what she had done. Then her gaze returned to Haides and his brother, waiting to see what would happen.
"He looks out of it, but not sure if that is a good thing or not at the moment,"Serenity spoke.
"Should we be prepared, just in case?"Jaromila questioned gently.

"I don't know." Haides looked over at his brother, nudging him gently. "... Itzal."
That seemed to cause a reaction in the red stallion. Itzal shifted, nudging his brother back. "Hai...des..." His eyes slid closed. "Tired..." His voice was quiet, almost to the point of being inaudible mumble. But Haides seemed to understand. "Rest, then. I'll watch over you." That was enough. The younger twin sank back to the earth, all but asleep again.
Haides watched his twin for a moment, then glanced at Beta. "You have a hell of a way of introducing yourself."
Beta just smiled sheepishly at him, then inspected the pair. "... This looks familiar." The mare tilted her head in confusion, then brightened. "Ah! That's it!" She beamed at her mother. "He's acting like Delta."

Serenity watched her son take care of his brother, then she heard what Beta said and a confused look filled her blue eyes.
"Beta dear, I am almost afraid to ask, but whatever do you mean? How exactly is he reminding you of Delta?"Serenity asked.
"Your sister has always had an interesting way to introduce herself, dear,"Jaromila reminded, walking over to him. She gently nuzzled him, glad that his brother was alright...least for now.

Beta tilted her head. "Delta acts like that with me. You know, really quiet and doesn't like interact with anyone else," she explained. "He only relaxed when Dee reassured him; Dee makes him feel safe."
Haides smiled and nuzzled her back. "That's true."

Serenity nodded her head in understanding now, she had noticed that about her grandson.
"Yes, I noticed he seems quiet around people usually, but some Azrein are like that. I suppose maybe he understands that Haides is like him in a way. I am sure Delta just needs to feel safe and know he is loved,"Serenity spoke.
"Hopefully she did him some good, like she did for you. I would not have gotten the chance to meet and fall for you if it were not for Beta,"Jaromila admitted.

Beta blinked. "Of course he feels that way. Dee is the eldest brother for him too." And the responsibility of the eldest brother was to protect the family; at least, that's what Haides always told her.
Haides smiled. "That is true... or if we did meet, it might've ended differently." He could've gone mute and not had the conversation that opened him up to Jaromila. He might've not made it to the north at all. "That is why you two are my best friends." They made him better. They cared about him despite his oddities. Life just... wouldn't be the same without them.

Serenity remembered Haides telling her about the responsibility of the eldest brother.
"It is also my job as mother and matriarch of this family to do what I can to protect all of you. You are always going to be my little ones, I cannot let anything happen to any of you,"Serenity spoke.
"Who knew she would be able to do such wonderful things to make us all...happy and complete. You both also gave your mother purpose..something she needed after losing Txopu,"Jaromila spoke.

Beta nodded happily. "Mm-hmm! But Itzal doesn't know that, so he only feels safe with Dee." She looked down at her son, a sad smile forming on her face. "... Mama? Do you think I can be as good of a mom as you are?"
"... I knew." Haides glanced over at his sister and best friend. "I didn't always want to acknowledge it, but I knew since the moment I met her. Forging bonds between people... seems to be as easy as breathing for her." He shook his head as he smiled. "As eccentric as she is, she draws others to her. Beta was... the best person for me to meet at that time." The smile widened as he turned to face Jaromila again. "She let me meet you."
