As he set the dummy down, he stared at it, brows knit as the look of exhaustion came back. He touched it's chest as memory reminded him what it had felt like to shove that shard-dagger deep into Harrison's chest... "You'd think... people would respect that at least."

She lifted a shoulder in a shrug.
"I think we've had this conversation before, as well."
Sasha crossed her arms over her chest.
"At any rate, I didn't approach you today to talk about this. I don't want you to think that I did."

Dressing the way he did and doing the things he did made him happy. No one else could see the punchline. He always felt the moment it made someone else happy too, it would all be worth it. Like Funky Tie Tuesday.
It made him want to go buy an even more obnoxious shirt out of spite. Maybe with wolves on it. "Well, I got arrested. And I'm embarrassed as hell. There we caught up." He huffed and went back for the shed.

"M-maybe not... all in one go," He muttered, "But at least it wasn't as steep as what Rep and Mel got. I think I read on my report something about 'Busking?' The policemen's accents were worse than Rep's, I could barely understand them."

"I don't know if friendly is the right word," Jerry's exhaustion seemed to hit him, and he took a break to sit down in the shade of the shed. "But them and Jordan are.... probably the only friends I got here. Beggars can't be choosers."

He pushed his glasses up his nose, glancing out across the field to his small army of dummies waiting to get blasted to smithereens. "I miss talking to you." At least when he could talk to her without feeling judged every step of the way.

Sasha paused. Cleared her throat.
"I apologize," she started, then paused. "We... I mean."
There was a sour fire in her throat. She suddenly wanted most desperately to be alone.
"We - you can ... you should have.. what I'm trying to say, Jerry, is that you could've called me - or Wash." Her jaw clenched. "And ... I know things were - are - awkward, but I suppose they don't need to be."
That hadn't been so difficult to say.
"So."
Not awkward at all.

He removed his glasses to quietly clean them on his shirt, if anything as an excuse not to look at anything in particular. "I didn't... want to be an imposition." It hadn't even occurred to him. Sure, in the past, Wash or Sasha would have been the first people he would have turned to... but after everything? He was more confident they would have laughed at his text and ignored it to see how he would have made out. "And anyway, Candace was nice enough to help." And less judgmental than even Jordan. His stomach churned a bit.

"Of course she was," Sasha pursed her lips. There really was no sense in lingering on their last interaction in the labs.
"Well, then." She glanced at him in hopes that he might meet her gaze. An odd little smile toyed with the marred curve of her lips.
"I'll let you get back to what you were doing. If you ever want to, ah. Get together for a social drink, you'll let me know?"
Sasha smiled, a friendly gesture. It was anything but - her intentions were not the purest sort, of course, but she was interested in his reaction.

"At least I know when enough is enough," Sasha grunted, feeling rebuked and not appreciating it in the least. His laughter threw her off and annoyed her at the same time, igniting that little shard of rage she cultivated deep in her chest. That little, white hot bit she had held at bay, did her best to ignore.
"And he wasn't my father, anyway. So it's not like it matters. Forget I said anything."
