Did you know?, most proffesional flutist are male. You have to look hard to find a female flutist that plays proffesional. So as far as long term flute players go the males win.

My high school has a male flute player. He plays extremely loud though. If only the other girl flute players would play as loud when needed.
The 1st chair clarinet in my high school though is a male. Hes amazing.
In my college group there aren't any male flute players or clarinet players.

I don't really see why people have to stereotype like that. It's pointless. But my band teacher (is a guy) and he played flute as a kid.... and he's REALLY REALLY good. (i'm a girl but yeah... idk. i just saw the word flute and clicked)

I'm a male FLAUTIST. That was really ticking me off as I read the previous three pages. I guess none of you know it's flautist and not flutist. :/
I'm the only male flautist in my highschool band. : 3

Please be informed the next time you try to state "facts".

man, seeing this topic makes me miss my friend. he was the only guy much less flautist that i could really compete in talent against. he went to another school and now i'm the only of two flautists at my high school and the other one is a freshman. a very unmotivating setting. neutral

One of my really good friends is a male flutist (or flautist as he likes to call himself), and since he's section leader in marching band, all the girls in his section like to tease him xD
