"Well, well, probably can even get a discount for yourself as that's about what we're up to anyway." Nascen winked, and then paused to consider. "On second thought I think I'd need a vote on that before I garentee anything, but if you're willing to pay for the services, yeah, we'd be glad to." He'd been expecting the man to tell them to get him a petal; well, he might ask for it once he got it, but it hadn't been part of the deal. He didn't see the problem giving the man one; but he was more interested in making sure that his people had one when the end came. Perhaps he was a meddler by nature, but he wanted to be there to do what needed to be done when it all drew to a close. "So, you wanna' shake on it, or are you fine just saying?"
((EDIT smile ) Nascen glanced up as their new employer shouted something, and glanced toward where he was pointing. Apparently, he was distressed by the presence of this flying... umm, person? Nascen scratched his head. "Wait, think I saw her back at the Firebrand..."

Athan leaned up against the wreckage that was once 'their' car. He stared towards the approaching island, his elbows propped up on te car's roof. The sea breeze whipped across the deck, carrying the smell of dead car away from the scene. For some reason or another, the deck was pretty much deserted.
Athan couldn't quite figure out why.
"Meh, Gambino island isn't too big. If worse comes to worse, we could always rent a scooter or something."
As he spoke, he ducked back into the remains of their transport, fishing around in the back, attempting to unwedge his sword from the ground. It was hard enough getting it in there, now that it had punctured halfway through the floor, it took quite a bit of effort to tear it free. In fact, he put enough force on it that when the sword came out, it sliced the rear seat cushion in half before sticking itself in the roof.
"Oh come on!"
Soon the car was just as messed up on the inside as it was on the outside.

Flare nodded calmly toward the man she had nearly killed but a few months before. "Allen, good to see you. How are the wings holding up? No lasting damage I hope?"
She knew his name through Owle, and little else. Still, she chatted with him as though he were an old friend, and not an enemy.

The other wheels of the cars started to loosen and fall apart as well. Looks like the whole car was going to hell. "If that doesn't work, we could always hitchhike again!" A still intact speaker crackled, it said, "Isle de Gambino, docking in two minutes."

Allen opened his mouth to yell again...and couldn't. She was being nice and civil, so he couldn't exactly go on a rant here. And so, he calmed down, and lowered the pointed finger. And spoke in the same manner.
"I'm fine, though my wings are still healing. Another couple of months, and they should be fine. How about Owle? Did she recover from her wounds?"
And yes, he actually was concerned there. He'd been worried about Owle when she'd been shot, and really hoped she was ok. Meanwhile, though, he turned to Nascen for a few comments.
"...I'd also like it if I was able to get one of the petals. I'm curious as to whats going on, and the best way to find out is to be there first hand. As to the shaking...if you're good mercenaries, your word should be enough. So I'll trust you."

"Gah HAH! Finally!"
He wrenched his sword from the confines of the car, in advertantly slicing the rear window in half. Athan drew his sword up and hooked it into the leather straps on the back of his vest.
At the suggestion of hitchhiking, Athan could only respond with a silent stare at his compatriot. What part of "never drive again" did he not understand?

"Uncle Chris! Can I please take it in?" She made sure to turn on her feminine charms full blast and even stop smacking on her gum.
The old man could not resist her charms. That and he knew full well her mother was a women who got violent when she did not get her way. Veronica was much the same.
With a deep and mournful sigh - and silent prayer - he nodded and covered his eyes as she started to squeal.
They were not slowing down as they neared the port. At this rate it was very possible they would ride the sea right into the port and maybe even run aground - but at least they were gradually turning so as to dock.
And her music went right back up in volumn.

Nascen blinked, obviously not getting much of what was going on here. "Alrighty then, I'll keep it in mind." humming a cheerful tune that horribly clashed the tension he reclined in his seat; but he also unclipped his seat belt, tucking a thumb under the strap which had been beneath it running down his torso. "What happened to Miss Isihos? She did not seem hurt when we left the Firebrand, has something happened?"

Athan made his way forward, looking over the front end of the ship at the approaching dock. It was getting a lot closer. Soon enough, they'd be on land again and their adventure would begin anew.
Something didn't seem right though. The docks were getting closer, but they weren't getting closer slower.
In fact, it almost seemed as if they were speeding up.
"Uhh..."
Athan looked over his shoulder. He had never crossed by ferry before, so he wasn't exactly sure how the thing worked. Still, he was fairly certain that slowing down was one of the main steps involved in docking at port.
He had a very bad feeling about what was going to happen next.

"I wonder who's driving this thing?" Kit said, the ferry going down to the docks of Gambino Isle. They had better be as good as Athan, he was a good driver, but then, his idea of good driving is planting a car on a ferry and maiming people on the way there...

"Owle's fine," Flare answered. "Though she may well be destroyed by the time this is over."
"Sorry about that blast..." she added, as an afterthought. "Had I known you were so slow to heal, I might have toned it down some."
It was no good having an enemy of one of Owle's acquaintances. Odds were she would have far too many enemies.

"I'm glad she's ok. But if somethings threatening her now...I'm willing to help. I may not have seen her for a while, but I'd rather nothing happen to her."
Then, Allen noticed the shore approaching fast. And his wings were out, ready to launch him up upon impact. Maybe unneeded, but he liekd to be prepared.
"Nascen, get the wheel. And be ready to get moving if we crash. I'd rather nobody get hurt."

~Crunch~ Never in the history of the world was this a good sound. The ferry side swiping the dock as it attempted to move past. The rocking of the ship would be severe. Only those who were basically riding the rails had any chance of being thrown off though - even then only those stupid enough to not grab a hold. At least they had not ran straight into the dock which might well have sunk them. Luckily Christopher Omaly managed to wrestle the controls from his neice before they grounded on the very beach. Great luck it was too - as people layed out and sunbathed to their hearts content. Probably would have killed some people. As things went they ground to a stop quite a bit too far down the docks - close to the beach - with only a large jagged scratch down the side of the ship as proof they ever hit. There would be no refunds - this he swore. Veronica made her exit as he was busy crying over the damage to his ship. She would be one of the first to leave the ship via the ramp - long yellow coat swaying behind her as she jumped ship. Or well...walked off.

"I'm glad to hear-"
~Crunch~
And Flare was too busy bracing herself with her own wings and grabbing onto the nearest bit of ship to finish her sentence.
"As I was saying.." she continued, when it became clear they weren't about to be killed. "I'm glad to hear that. But you may not want to become involved with what's pursuing Owle right now. Gods are threatening her, and I'm not even sure I'll be able to save her."
If they took off, she flew alongside them.

Oh crap. Whatever that was, it didn't sound good, and it sure as hell didn't look good. It didn't feel good ethier as the sudden stop landed him on the floor of the still ferry his face felt sore now, it was getting a major beating. Seeing the safety slide, Kit dizzily slid down the balloon. At least he landed feet first.
