Flare paid no attention to the Spanish opera. At least it was better than the nursery rhymes.
With little else to do, the demon lunged after the man with a growl. There was no space for her to fly in here; her large wingspan would surely get her wings ground up by the cogs if she tried. She was forced to pursue the little rat man on foot...running in the direction he was going.
Which meant, unforunately, onto and over the giant cog.
As she pursued him, her hands started to glow red. If he would not sit still...perhaps she could force him to...

"Dangerous times, pretty lady, what a world we live in, eh?"
What the-?! How did he walk upsidedown?
It was true, there the man stood, on a smaller cog, smiling happily as he passed her by. She might think to reach out and grab him, only to be met with a thrown baton.
If it hit her...he probably wouldn't end up with a kiss... crying she'd be too pissed off, but it wouldn't do much damage other then a headache and maybe a red mark.
If it missed, she was welcome to try and get him from his precarious position. It seemed he changed as soon as a full rotation would commense.
"And time is running out..."

Her left hand reached out to grab him, even as her right palm pointed toward him. A jet of flame arched outward from her palm, to shoot beneath him then gather itself, hovering in the air before him. If he continued moving forward, he was going to get burned...
The only way to go was back, towards her. Unless the space they were in was less narrow than she would have liked, and he could jump off to the side.
It would be hard for the baton to miss, as she was jumping on him like a wild animal. It hit Flare full in the face, halting her for the moment, and an unladylike curse escaped her lips. She was going to kill him after she kissed him and he surrendered the petal to her.
Despite the distraction, she managed to keep her hold on the flames. They would still be acting as a barrier to the little man.
((Lunch, then I'm off to class. Be back...around 2:30EST))

The flames didn't seem to hinder his progress, he just walked backwards into the shadows.
Now the clown looked at her from sidelong, walking verticle to a horizontal cog, smiling. Things seemed to go up a notch for now the batons were bathed in flame. This was getting serious. Then again, she didn't seem adverse to flames herself, maybe she'd break through this barrier. Or maybe she'd figure out the puzzle?
He was slowly progressing upwards...should Flare start now, maybe she would discover the secret of the shadows the Juggler passed through.

Fire didn't bother her; she had been born with a natural resistance to that element. Were the man close enough, she would throw herself at him again in an all out tackle. No hope of regaining her balance if she missed, if he dodged, but her own momentum would keep her sailing into him even if he threw a baton at her again.
She didn't think to look for a puzzle; she assumed it was a mere trick, an innate ability of his. Though she might begin looking for a way to counter it if brute force continued to fail her.

Still very direct... She'd tackle him, only to have his form crumple out from under her. What she was left with, was a very scant bodice that was glowing lightly.
There was a tick, and the whole tower suddenly went off, tolling the hour.
"If I'd left it to fate, you would have lost dear lady, and you've done so well... how could I pass up the oppurtunity of leaving you in my debt. Have fun at the temple pretty lady... <3"
Another bow...and he was gone.

"I thank you..." Flare said, picking up the bodice. Though truly, his words wounded her more than if she had lost. She always repaid her debts. Always. And here it seemed she would not be able to...
Sighing, she left the clock tower, heading for the Gothic Church on her way to the Void, and to the temple...
Gods, she hoped she wasn't going to have to wear this thing to get into it.

A chuckle from the top of the tower as he watched her go. Shadows twisted and formed up, a tail bracing him from falling.
"Till we meet again, Lady Flare. Good luck to you."

"And to you," as she was leaving. "I still owe you that kiss."
Then she was gone, on her way off.
((Unless you'd prefer I delete my post in the Church and continue to play here. I wouldn't mind.))

((No, thank you. I had a lot of fun, as well. Though I can't for the life of me figure out what that puzzle was.))
