She smiled a small smile as she nodded. "Yeah... He's okay."
She looked away another long moment, then turned back to Emil. "So how have you been, Emil? Things okay...?"

"Yeah, I guess so," Emil said, still sounding a bit withdrawn. Truth is he didn't sound that okay, but he wouldn't want to make anyone worry about him either. It's not like he had any huge troubles like Luke seemed to be having.

"Y-yeah, I'll be okay," he said, finally lifting his head enough to give her a reassuring smile.

The smile was returned, and she tucked her hair back behind her ear. "Well... I'm sorry for putting such a weight on your day... Next time we meet, things will be brighter, I'm sure!"

"Yeah," Emil said weakly, still giving a half hearted smile.
"Oh um... thanks for the uh... lunch." It was very kind of her to buy that for him, after all and he didn't want to go without showing his gratitude.

"No problem. Really, anytime!" She pushed her chair back from the table and stood slowly, assuming their time had run its course for the day, given the current conversation. "I kind of interrupted your shopping anyway... it was the very least I could do." Especially with the conversation she had known was inevitable, given his previous lack of common knowledge; it hadn't quite been 'lunch' but...

Well it was lunch for him anyway.
"It's okay," he said and then started to get up. He'd probably wasted enough of her time now anyway. And yeah.. he probably should finish his uh... shopping.
"It was nice to see you." Sorta.
