Efflo stared at him, blinking. Did he… Really just? Then he was doubling over in laughter, unable to help himself. He laughed until his sides hurt, before plunking himself down on the ground next to the scareons who were not looking any less frightened by the whole situation. The boil was still confused as hell about the whole thing. He had no idea what to do next but… The dragon’s words kept replaying in his head. He didn’t hate him. He wasn’t the only one. Yes, Efflo had caught that part too even though the undead was wary of latching onto any hope, no matter how much he wanted to. Still, it was a relief. He glanced up at Gabby, actually smiling this time. “You really are an idiot.”

Gabby's prideful posture deflated and he sighed in exasperation. "I'm not. I'm really smart. Stop saying stupid things, or I really will hate you." He shoved the boil gently on the shoulder, and then bent over to pick up his scareon. It was busy draping itself over Efflo's scareon, lazily protecting it without actually having to move or do anything important. When it was removed from the situation, the minipet let out a mournful yowl. "Ugh. Jack, it better not do this all the way home." Gabby put his hand over the tiny scareons muzzle, but the yowls of sadness were still heard, muffled, through his hold. "Damn that Andrew. Gave me a broken pet."

Seeing Gabby deflate, Efflo sighed. “I’m kidding, you know,” he said, looking sulky, but gave the other boil a playful shove back nonetheless. The undead scooped up his own mini, which was busy doing its best impression of puppy-dog eyes are Gabriel. “Why you do this to us?” its pitiful look seemed to say. Efflo watched as Gabby’s pet continued to mewl, despite his best effort. He sighed again; even though he had said he was kidding, on some level he wondered if Gabby really was oblivious. “Maybe if you weren’t so mean to it…” He reached out to pet the little scareon, holding his own out to it at the same time. “It’s okay little guy, see? You can say proper good-byes and you’ll see each other again.” He narrowed his eyes at Gabby, “Right?”

"Mean? Me?!" Gabby looked absolutely shocked and scandalized. He was clearly the nicest boil in the world. He shoo'd Efflo's hand away, and pet the scareon himself instead. Efflo was making promises that meant things, and Gabby wasn't losing sight of that. He gave the boil his best put out glare, and then rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I guess I could manage it. Until you piss me off, at least, I'm sure that'll happen any day now." His lips quirked to one side, betraying his insults, as he let his eyes settle on Efflo and remain there for the first time since they'd made it here. He caught sight of the tattered remains of the boils clothes, and shook his head in dismay. "You still haven't gone to change your pants? You look like you've been through a war." Gabby wasn't the type to feel compelled to help him in this regard, but he was most certainly the type to point out the obvious. When he looked back up again, the bright hue of Efflo's hair forced his attention to focus there. Just for a second, he remembered something. It was funny, that he'd just mentioned being in a war. He remembered lying prone on the battlefield, after they'd both overextended their abilities. He remembered Efflo's head resting on his knee as the boil lay passed out on the ground. He remembered brushing that neon hair back out of his eyes. Without really thinking about his actions, he reached up and made the same gesture, reliving the memory. All that neon green. But, as if a rubberband wrapped around his core and tugged him back to reality, Gabby widened his eyes and dropped his hand. It was a mistake, and now he was paying for it with that strange anxiety that bubbled up inside of him - the same one that had him questioning everything lately. He cursed himself internally. Things were going so well, and he had to go and ruin it. Idiot? Yeah. Efflo was right about that, after all.

Efflo rolled his eyes right back but it was clear he was embarrassed about his pants predicament. Stiil, it was kind of hard to be mad at the boil when Efflo realized he’d agreed to meet again. But no, no, he needed to quash that little spark of hope right now… “We were, remember? It’s not my fault, I’ve been… busy.” Busy avoiding Gabby, and busy avoiding everyone else. He definitely wasn’t going to make a casual trip to the maul in that sort of situation. Then cool fingers were brushing his bangs out of the way, an action that seemed so familiar and comforting that Efflo was taken aback. He blushed; casting his eyes downward as the same anxious feelings welled up inside of him. What were they doing? He blew out a sigh, holding out his hand. “Give me your phone.” He refused to make eye contact with the dragon, the hair that had just been pushed away falling back over his eyes.

Gabby looked taken aback. His hand rested on the pocket of his hip, as if protecting what was there. "N-no." He huffed out. "Why do you want my phone? Get your own!" This was starting out smashingly.

Efflo rested his palm against his face, shaking his head in exasperation. Really? He was having incredibly confusing and heartbreaking feelings over this? “Why would I want your phone?” he asked, reaching into his frayed pocket and holding up his own. “Look, don’t need yours.” He quickly stuffed it away, and then reached for Gabby’s. “Now let me see it, please!”

Gabby went from cautious to confused in mere seconds, and he frowned, slowly reaching for his phone. He still thought the boil might consider taking it, perhaps out of some cruel prank to get revenge for the way he'd just touched him. He realized that would hurt the most, and just as he realized it, he shoved the thought away and pulled his phone out of his pocket even faster. He dropped it into the boils hand and crossed his own. "Here." He grumbled. If Efflo tried to run, he'd have a time trying to get away from a giant dragon. Gabby briefly considered how hard it would be to swallow Efflo whole.

Luckily, Efflo didn’t have any intentions of going anywhere. He had planned to cutely put his number in Gabby’s phone before the dragon realized it and bolt off but because of a certain idiot’s misunderstanding; it was no longer a viable exit strategy. He took the phone unceremoniously, flipping it open and pressing some buttons. Thankfully, he’d recently been shown how to do this and the dragon's phone wasn't much more advanced than his. After a moment he handed the phone back to Gabby, Efflo’s number now included. “There, was that so bad?”

When Gabby took the phone back, he checked to see what had changed. Efflo's number was now his second, sitting pretty right above Sibyl's in his lonely directory. He felt a little silly for not realizing that was the boil's intent, so he closed the phone, and gave Efflo a thin glare. He took a step forward, and tilted his head to look down at the shredded pants the boil was still wearing. He knew the answer to this question already, but it wasn't the answer he was interested in - he had to regain control of the situation. He knew exactly how. "So where's your phone? I'll put mine in." Gabby settled his hands down against Efflo's thigh, patting it to search for a phone that he knew wasn't there.

What was that glare for? Gabby should be happy, only one other boil had Efflo’s number. He also happened to only really know one other boil but that was neither here nor there. But the dragon didn’t stop glaring at him, and the horse followed his gaze with apprehension. But then the dragon’s hands were grazing his thigh, patting around for his phone and Efflo forgot to think for a moment. His heart pounded in his chest and any thoughts of phones were immediately pushed from his mind. A split second later he was moving, his hands curling into the fur of Gabby’s jacket as he leaned up, pressing his lips against the dragon’s as he pulled him closer.

It was always about being in control. Something about the silence that fell over Efflo when Gabby patted his hip made him feel like he'd achieved the control he had been trying for. A swell of pride, of justice, made his chest rise, and he grinned. Just. Not for long. In a stirring repeat of his first encounter with Efflo, Gabby found himself being thrown into a kiss he hadn't initiated. He knew he should be angry. In fact, he was sure that anger was the correct emotion for this moment, and he searched in vain for the spark that would ignite his rage. Instead, he felt a spark, and it was the driving force behind his actions. Thinking was an impossibility at the moment. All he knew, and understood, was that this was what he wanted, at that very moment. So he took it. Efflo's neon hair was invaded by white fingers, and Gabby held on tight as he attempted to take back his control. If he was going to give in, at least for now, he was going to do it on his terms. His way. His show. His lips parted, and he showed Efflo who was in charge.

This was very unexpected. When Andrew had circled around and ducked behind some bushes, using the box as a cover for the light of his tail, he expected them to fight and maybe run off. He hadn't expected them to trade numbers and start flirting and kissing. Thankfully his phone was back and he silently took a few snapshots, between some leaves. Black mail, perfect. Maybe, unless they become an official couple, which was possible. They were really into it. Either way he might be able to make a seed off this. He could only hope the wind didn't change.

The dragon’s lips were icy against his own and it was an intoxicating feeling, it made him want lap at the chill until it melted away. Clouded in a haze of emotion, Efflo consented to whatever Gabby had to give, savoring every heated moment. Trying to make sense of things was to no avail; he was utterly and hopelessly lost in Gabby’s grasp. He wanted it to last forever, because the confusion didn’t matter when they were woven like this, it all faded away, eclipsed by the frantic pounding of hearts. Then, all too soon, they were untwining, Efflo panting softly as he closed his eyes and rested his dark cheek against the dragon’s. He didn’t want to move yet. He wanted to stay like this as long as he could, arms wrapped around Gabby and face now nestling into the crook of his neck. His breath was warm against Gabby’s skin, and he murmured softly, repeating his words from earlier, “You don’t hate me…” If this was what Gabby taking control meant, Efflo had no argument.

If he had the capacity to hate something about himself, Gabby could almost find himself hating just how cold he was. The warm breath against his neck.. he'd never wanted heat in his entire life, before that moment. His hand rested on the back of Efflo's head, and secured the boil firmly there. If he thought he was going to be moving anytime soon.. just no. "Hate you?" Gabby didn't realize he was out of breath until he tried to speak, and the words came out halted and quiet. He'd never really had to breath before, and now he couldn't catch his breath. It was maddening. Just as maddening as the idea that Efflo thought he'd hated him. Gabby turned his head, pressing his lips against the boils ear if only because it was easier to speak with such a lack of oxygen, if he whispered. "I haven't been able to get you out of my mind since the day we met. Hate you. I wish I hated you. That would make more sense." And nothing about this made sense.
