Ante thought for a moment, then spoke. "How about I grant your wish and walk with you, and I tell you afterwards?" she suggested. She didn't want to use up her favor on such a thing, after all. But what she wanted would be best asked for when they knew each other even a little better.

Bruin nodded and agreed to her proposition though he figured he would regret it later. "Very well, lady Ante." He said motioning for her to follow as he began walking leisurely again towards the west.

Ante resisted the urge to smile as she fell into step beside him. It was nice that he called her 'Lady Ante,' but she doubted Bruin would think that she was once this was over. Was this a good idea? Maybe not. Would she regret it later? Possibly. But it would be satisfying. Besides, she kind of enjoyed Bruin's knightly attitude and their riddling game. Maybe she could somehow keep these little riddle gambles going...

"I was bored with mine," Ante replied. "Apparently too much experience with my mother has left everyone afraid to play any of my games. And my sisters are only so entertaining..." After a while, it just got old, exchanging riddles with them. "And a quest for knowledge isn't very successful if you stay still."

Bruin nodded in understanding. "And what knowledge is it that you seek that keeps you moving?" He asked. So long as she kept supplying answers he would continue to ask.

"Well... everything, really. I learn whatever I can whenever I can." Ante's expression didn't change, but her words made it clear that this was something she very much enjoyed. "I like knowing how things work and I like stories. The more knowledge I have, the more knowledge I can share." Resisting the urge to smile, she added, "And it's easier to stump others with my riddles."

Bruin laughed and nodded his head. "Seems that I need to work on learning a few things myself, so as to keep up with you an your riddles." He grinned and lightly bumped into her, showing that he was teasing.

Ante smiled slightly and bumped him back. "Seems like it." Yes, she'd definitely found a diamond in the rough with Bruin. This was probably the longest conversation she'd ever had outside her family. Hopefully it would exceed those as well. And then... then she'd tell him her request--the ante he'd unwittingly paid for when he made the terms of his game.

Bruin smiled and walked beside her for several moments until they came to a stream. "Okay." He said, turning to face her. "What is your price?" He asked. The suspense of waiting to find out what he had lost to her was killing him.

Ante hoped to keep the conversation going, but she guessed a little while was better than nothing. She turned to face Bruin, her voice just as neutral as before. "I want you to father my children."

Bruin stood still in shock. She wanted what?! After a moment, he concluded tht he was probably joking so he began to laugh. "Ahahaha! Alright! Good one!" He grinned at her, his flames that had almost disapated returned. But as he saw that she seemed serious, he stopped, a blush covering his face. "You...you're serious aren't you..?"

Well, she guess that was a natural reaction. Ante nodded. "I never joke about bet prices." Her gambling webs had finally brought her something she wanted; she wasn't going to let him slip away so easily. The manner of her request meant that he wouldn't be free from it until she had children, and with his attitude, he might even stick around for them. It was a horrible enslavement of him, but good company was hard to come by--and she was getting desperate.

Bruin was silent, his face burning bright red in embarrassment. She.. Wanted him. To... He coughed. He had been trying to keep himself pure until he had a lifemate, but he supposed he should have thought of this when he made the bet. How could he have lost so easily? Well no matter... He was a stallion of his word, and if this was the price... But children. He didn't wanna be a father. Not yet... Besides... He had vowed that no matter what, he would raise his children. He couldn't have then turning out like Aduro and Nina. What a predicament he had gotten himself in. "Hum... Okay then... Uhm... When do we start?" He asked uncomfortably.

Ante felt a familiar sense of dread settle in during the silence. Was her bet going to be rejected? It had happened before; others had discovered her lack of speed and ran. Even those she'd approached in a "normal" manner avoided her; she was simply too strange. A hairless mare with a mask hiding most of her face and strange clothing around her legs. She couldn't help feeling jealous of the mares who needed only to walk by for a stallion or three to approach.
Bruin's reply shook her from her thoughts. "Hm? Whenever you're ready, I suppose."
