Mmur probably should have had better things to do than this. Harvesting FEAR, guarding the portals, mingling with students—these were all activities that might have ranked above paying a visit to a land created by some tiny subset of humanity who happened to worship turkeys and were obsessed with buckles. He couldn't help himself though. Both of those vices sounded fascinating. Plus, there were students here too. He could mingle and see what all the fuss was about.
On a whim, he had stopped by Salbei's rock on the way to the holiday trees, but the sage hadn't been around. He had, however, picked up an alchemist instead. No, really. He had Faiyum braced over his shoulder. The soldier stage-whispered at the other Famine clansman as they approached the gathering crowd.
"Do you think they will have all sorts of little animals made from FEAR... no... GRACE as well? Or only ones shaped like turkeys? Turkeys with buckles everywhere. And cranberry eyes!" Mmur's questions quickly became louder and less question-like as he got closer to his destination.

Fai was being carried. Literally. Over the shoulder of an enthusiastic brother of Famine who had started asking about turkeys with cranberry eyes. He... wasn't quite sure what this was about, but the question did fascinate him!
"I have never seen such a creature, but I am sure that if we find one I will happily dissect it for you, Mmur," he promised. That he looked like a war prize at the moment in front of scarelings was ignored--and honestly, he was lazy enough to enjoy the ride--as long as his glass of wine didn't get splashed. The plant headed alchemist took a drink of the cup leisurely, glad he had grabbed the bottle before being grabbed.
"Tell me, my friend, where are we going?" he finally asked. A bit late, to be honest.

Roch looked at Alex. Then he looked at the two famine horsemen--especially the one being hauled around. "Yes, the horsemen are reeeealll reassuring," he said with only a hint of amusement.

The very lovely purple haired ghoul was making such a deal of their trip outside of Halloween, that Olivia kind of had to wonder if she should as well. But everyone was having such a wonderful time gathering together and making their introductions. There were smiles everywhere, even her own didn't seem to falter (and there were more Horsemen arriving, how could it turn into a frown? Even one she kind of knew of!) There was no way she could turn back now, even as the purple haired boil suggested it.
"I'm Olivia," she replied to Bella even as Alex shouted it not a few seconds later. She blushed slightly at the compliment, unsure of what to say back since it seemed very not nice to not have a nice thing to say in return, "you seem very friendly." That should do it. And hopefully in a decent fashion as the reaper turned to the purple skinned ghoul once again.
The ghoul spared another glance at Andrew before meeting with Alex's onslaught of questions head on. It was so very nice to see him again, and of course she would tell him him. "It's nice to see you again, things are well! Classes and everything!" (The ones she had gone to, at least), "They're all so fun and different." It was becoming hard not to match the energies of those around her and Olivia could feel her excitement levels raise as she conversed.
"And yourself?" She nearly chirped. She'd also have to keep in mind of the offered help, for later at least. It was an invitation for later, of course she would take it.
"I think it'll be fun to go with them." Olivia chimed in, though she had interacted with the Horsemen here and there while on campus it had been some time since she had heard about their affairs after the incidents in the islands. Any hostilities or misgivings that could have arose were totally oblivious to the young ghoul.

Sin glowered faintly at Roch before she was treated to a sudden and enthusiastic assault by Belladonna. She almost jerked away from the red-head but she curbed herself and hugged her instead, lightly. A tiny voice in the back of her mind told her to watch out for a knife in the back, but what a horrid thought, Belladonna was a sweetheart and one of her close friends. She trusted the ghoul to have her back. She forced a smile and let herself be dragged closer, now that she was going on this crazy trip she might as well try and make the best of it after all.
"You aren't the slightest bit worried about getting in trouble are you darkling?" She felt a bit soothed by Belladonna's flattering words, she did look amazing in this outfit.
Well if Belladonna, Mort, Alexander, and Roch were so at ease about the entire affair then maybe she should just try and take it in stride. She just kept picturing drunken trees ripping at her skirt, candy with horrific glittery effects, and foggy islands. Thank goodness she hadn't worn her dress or her usual high heels, a modest two inch wedge meant no twisted ankles.

"Here," he replied, recalling that this was supposed to be a secret outing when he saw the students skulking around. "To Thanksgiving Land." Mmur breathed the words like they were the start to some epic tale of adventure. "Would you like me to put you down?" It didn't really occur to him that Fai might not even want to come along at all.
The promise of dissections spun the horseman off on another track entirely once his mind circled back around to it. If there really were miniature turkeys with cranberry eyes to be stolen away, he certainly wanted to keep one as well. He should have brought a bag. In the end, he decided to stay silent on the subject.

When nobody left (he hadn't really expected anyone to, but he gave them time!) Roch brought up two fingers to his mouth and let out a sharp whistle.
"Okay! If I could get your attention real quick!" he called out, waving his arms. "Name's Roch--for those of you that don't know me, I'm a hob, and a junior trick or treater. I'm the guy that ran the Battle of the Bands a few months back, in case any of you went. My second job as a trick or treater was infiltrating another holiday. Thanksgiving, t'be exact. It's right through here," he said, knocking once on the turkey.
"Thanksgiving is a place that pretty much centers around farming an' cows an' turkeys," Roch said. "They're nice enough guys--a lot of them look like reapers. There, though, they call them Harvesters. Good thing is, they're pretty open minded and buy a line like 'I'm from the city' when y'do stuff that confuses them. But we don't wanna push it, because, seriously, this is an infiltration job--we go in, we help my buddy Bubba, we come back. We are NOT out t'take over, t'kidnap their leader, or t'even gather FEAR. Because, seriously, there's NO FEAR in Thanksgiving. It's made up of GRACE."
He headed for the boxes he'd pulled out earlier, placing them one by one in front of the group. "So, unlike me, who wound up wearin' a hat that I swore had fleas, I figured I'd offer up some clothes you can wear t'fit in better. Pick out what you want, try an' cover things like tails and horns if y'can--I didn't see any demons around when I went. Think... farming, I guess. Anyone ever meet Levi?" Best example he could come up with--"without the seriously short shorts--unless y'look good in them."
OOC
WE'RE GOIN' COUNTRY! Go online and pick out your character's version of "country!" Try and get things that will cover horns or tails, but it's not necessary. Post the links/pics when you post your character picking an outfit!
If you want, you can roll 1d10 to decide how good or bad the outfit is! 1 being horrible, 10 being great. But this is totally up to you!

"Ah, yes, in a moment, my friend. Let me finish my glass of wine first," Fai said lazily, sipping his wine as he listened to the punk boil he knew--and argued with often. "This DOES sound fascinating. I'm quite a fan of farming."
Note, he made no move to get down, yet. He was enjoying his wine.

Leave because there might be pain, especially pain of dying?
Ahahahaha.
Ahahahahahahahahaha.
Jack, he almost laughed out loud, and what an awful sound it would have been. Dying, not dying, he came to expect something that would dissipate at least one person would come about. It always did. It was fate.
Just as it seemed to be at work to be bringing Sin down there of all people. Their conversation during Scarentines speed dating was still fresh on his mind, and the zomboil didn't smile at first as the succubus locked eyes with him. Even as Bells went off and bounced the ghoul about in a bone-crushing hug, Mort didn't have the energy, at least for that moment, to give Sin so much as a smile. Just a careful look. A what are you doing here? look. And then a shadow of a wry smile finally crept its way onto his features. Either she'd chicken out, or she'd be stuck with them by her own volition - either would settle the matter they had debated. But being here and suggesting to stick together was enough evidence to show that maybe he was right about her.
Ohhh, it felt good to be right about even small things. Tiny triumphs to stick up and hold close. "Champion returns to King," he murmured to himself before turning back to Olivia with a brighter look. "Will be fun yes, though stick close to. M'a hob, so is job t'watch out for you guys. So, ah, Scarefari, huh?" He followed her pointing to the few gathered horsemen there and stopped when he recognized one of them. Shaheen didn't look too pleased . . . But when she happened to look his way, he gave a slight nod and a slow blink: nothing too much, but at least an acknowledgment. He'd have to watch how this new land would affect her as well. "Were they fun? What'd you end up doing?" Mort asked, turning back to the younger ghoul with a little smile. "Was there on Islands too; visited War n' Famine."
He nodded to Rosy at both guessing his name and offering hers as the frost demon did in turn. "Mortimer McNeal, though Mort is short, yes. Nice meeting both! Well, if can say anything 'bout Amity, is very good at mixing people t'gether for every event," he noted with a chuckle himself. "S-Sanctioned or not. Felt like should come anyway, for . . . 'sperimentation. Theories. Things like that." But before he could speculate to Siku what he thought about Thanksgiving, Roch spoke up.
And . . . now country. Ho boil. Mort grimaced as he pilfered a few items from the boxes, not enjoying the choices. Graaaaah. "What 'bout those've us with different skin?" he asked Roch, indicating himself and Michi for starters as the obvious red and blue candidates. "Or, ah, other effects . . ." This time the gesture pointed out the smokey, fiery, and icy auras of certain demons.

Michi was already having the time of her life. This was what she had missed being locked up for a year away from everyone else. All the people, all the things going on. She laughed a little and waved at Andrew in general. "You do a pretty good job there, just standing around." She remembered that Alex had been a little more uncomfortable around such things the year before, but a lot had changed apparently. But then a well dressed ghoul showed up and Michi was smiling at her. Belladonna? That was a pretty name. "I'm Michi, and thank you! I love your dress!! And yeah, a friend of his of a sort. He broke my poor little heart." It was obvious that she was teasing him, elbowing Alex while she spoke and grinning the whole way through. Belladonna seemed to be just the sort of person Michi liked to be around, but so was Andrew... and Mort... and Alex... and well, generally just around others, honestly.
But then the purple haired Reaper was calling to everyone and Michi looked over to listen. One eyebrow slowly lifted above the other and she shrugged. Her friends were here, or at least the few she had known before and was friendly with, and it seemed there were plenty of potential friends as well. She was all for this, whatever this was. She'd just stick with others wherever they ended up. Alex preferably, but she was honestly already warming up to Andrew and Belladonna as well.
Then there was a sharp whistle and Michi scowled slightly. Such a loud noise. Never mind the fact she always had her tv cranked up loud when she was playing hexbox. Roch, right, that was his name. Grace instead of Fear? Well that sounded really silly to her. But then clothing was introduced and there was a comment about horns. Michi had horns of course, so she made sure to grab a hat, and just generally picked out a few items she wouldn't hate. After she picked out her outfit and all was said and done, she was back among the group. She spun around for a second then nodded and smiled up at the fire demon. "Not too shabby, right Andrew?" Her horns were poking out the top of the hat but you couldn't really see them unless you were staring at it.

"There's makeup in the box if you want--or like I said, stuff that's too huge to cover up, make a cover story for it. Y'come from the city, y'come from a cold area in Thanksgiving--one that specializes in, I dunno, ice delivery, or one that specializes in cookin. It's a huge place, probably as big as Halloween," Roch told Mort. "As long as it makes SOME sense, y'can probably get away with it."
What? He didn't think they were stupid in Thanksgiving, just sort of... rural. But while he was at it, he thought, pulling off his own vest and grabbing his other one, he might as well finish his outfit, as well.
Of course it wasn't much of a change, really... tho he did like the hat and the dangly leather straps!

Shik just smirked at Shaheen's fidgeting. "If we don't find something, I'll make something happen," he told her with a nonchalant wave of his hand. "Surely this will be as exciting as all these other garbage school events you make me go to." It was the closest thus far the executioner had taken her on a "date", so . . . beggars couldn't be choosers?
Soon enough, more Clansmen joined in the probably soon-to-go-wrong rescue mission. He remembered Mmur from long ago when the Lost Clans were still struggling to retain their power after the Isles collapse, though his friend was less familiar. "And look, playmates~" he purred to Shaheen, because more of them was always better.
Except when that required getting more clothes. Shik crossed his arms and stood, judging. This was why he was a close combat killer, not . . . whatever rank went about sneaking around. He flicked Shaheen with a wing in lieu of a hand and siddled closer to the other horsemen, eying the box contents with a raised brow.
"...This feels like that Land of the Disney Ruler all over again." Only worse because this changing was voluntary.

Alex’s lack of comment was well appreciated. The boil probably figured that considering they weren’t supposed to be doing this, he had no real ability to talk. Well, if Alex wasn’t saying anything neither would Andrew.
What drew his attention was Roch and the box. They were going in disguise? “Ahhh…” Andrew looked at the box and then glanced at his flame. He was about to say he just would have to bail on them when he spotted something that would work. His face went bright red and he sighed taking the lantern from the box. He grabbed a few other articles and backed up to shove them on and figured out how the lantern worked.
“You look fine Michi.” He mumbled barely looking at her, while he shoved his tail in the lantern and then just turned away too embarrassed to even think. His flame burned bright in the lantern that he was half trying to hide. This was awful.
An amuses laugh sounded as he watched Rosy stick her tongue out at him, when talk of her brother knowing started he simply offered, " I'm sure." Spinar didn't want to say too much about Rosy's brother and possibly offend her, after all it would be rather a bum move to start the trip off badly.
It took him a little by surprise that shy Rosy knew so many creatures, more than him which was a little weird given that wasn't usually how things went with them. "Scario Kart Club? " He questioned giving a grinning glance to the ghostly ghoul beside him, when had she joined a club? Mort. "Nice to meet you as well, hah yes I've learned that as well with Amity, its never boring." Looking at the zombboil he nodded then widened his pale blues in curiosity as a rather over the top witch started to chatter at Rosy. Belladonna Divine she introduced herself as and he started to grow a little annoyed the more of her voice he heard. What a chatterbox, a friendly grin sat in place on his face however to disguise his inner thoughts.
Shifting back on his heels he turned as a loud hello sounded, landing on the ghoul that had arrived and felt the need to speak so loudly he started to realize that there were a LOT of ghouls on this trip. Not a bad thing, but perhaps it wasn't a good thing either with the way the newly arrived succubus was behaving. But maybe she was just nervous he reasoned with a roll over the outfit she wore, because well..he couldn't really not look after all. Glancing to Rosy he feigned innocence and let out a soft restless whistle.
His attention shifted to the boil that had been previously playing music as he announced they could all go back if they wanted. Spinar shook his head giving his own silent answer, he hadn't sneaked out just to wander back now. Plus he was far to curious to leave now.
Glancing back to who Rosy was talking to he finally noticed the smaller ghoul zombie, the witch was right the little zombie was pretty adorable so he offered her a smile. Flicking his tail out behind him on a soft sigh he stretched his arms up behind his head to relax, eyes trailing over the crowd and catching with full attention on the boil on fire. Great. A fire demon. Spinar lingered with an unimpressed look on the boil for a few seconds before giving him a cheeky grin. Shifting he pocketed his hands and pulled at the ring in his chin with his teeth, biting it out of boredom.
There had been several mentions of Horsemen from various close conversations and finally the frost demon spared a glance to those that had gathered. He wasn't overly fond of Horsemen much like he wasn't of fire demons. His stared on the horsemen was broken when a sharp whistle drew him to look at the one he suspected was in-charge of this whole operation. As the announcement sounded he took note of the boils name, Roch, and shifted to pocket his hands as he listened. The turkey door so that was it?
Thanksgiving was sounding rather uninteresting the more Roch went on, centered around farming, cows and turkeys? That didn't sound like a blast at all but the fact that they were getting to go under disguise was a little exciting it meant the thrill of possibly being caught, what would happen if they were? Grace instead of Fear? Spinar rubbed his chin and watched as Mort questioned about how the ones with cold auras and skin pigments of certain colors would hide, both problems he had.
Slowly following the zombies lead he moved towards the boxes and picked through them, tail swaying behind him. Trying to think of items that would hide his own handsome features was a little of a drag but he settled for picking up a long black duster that would hide his tail, some brown gloves to hide his claws, a scarf because it was at least half fashionable, boots and a large white hat to hide his horns. After getting dressed in the country attire he moved to find Rosy again, curious as to what she picked out. For the cover story if asked Spinar had come up with little more than being from a place in Thanksgiving that preserved meat, thus why he was cold, as for his skin he had dabbed some peachy make up on his face since it was the only part of his bluish skin that was really visible now.

Shaheen opened her mouth as though to argue when the students began conversing about whether or not it was appropriate to go on an unsanctioned trip to a new realm without professor supervision. She was a horseman of war. A chieftain of her people, a born leader that had killed many and made prizes out of their bones. Surely that should have been good enough for them!
But she snapped her mouth closed again, deciding it really didn't matter to her what they thought or did. None of them were worth her time or energy to worry about or over, though at least one of them looked familiar enough that she could assume they were initiates. Oh, wait, some movement and suddenly a blue haired zombie boy was also visible. His nod towards her had her scowling, but she lifted up her hand in a gesture of greeting before answering Shik.
"Are you sure? Watching you get sold to the highest bidder was certainly more entertaining then this is, so far." She grumbled, at first not even caring in the slightest that she might be bringing up a sore subject. Of course, then for some unknown reason she actually felt bad, and she sighed, leaning forward to rest her forehead on the back of his shoulder as she closed her eyes.
Playmates? She opened her eyes and pulled away, blinking gold eyes set in black at the new arrivals. Mmur she recognized instantly, having been sent on a task with the faminer before. The other...well, he was familiar certainly, though she had yet to actually speak with him that she could remember.
And then the knowledge that they would need to change into something different, and decidedly less comfortable. Shaheen narrowed her eyes, except up towards Shik rather then at the purple haired boy that was to be their tour guide, apparently.
"You were saying?" She arched an eyebrow at him, but then was forced to follow when he moved away, or else risk being...exposed. She kept up to his pace, though she stayed just inches behind. On a whim, she reached out and slid her hand into his again, telling herself it was perfectly normal, even if her cheeks were suddenly burning hot, and if she found she couldn't look directly at him anymore.
"Hello." She nodded to the two from Famine, finding it rather odd that one was just being held up by the other. She tilted her head to the side, then pointed with her free hand at whatever the smaller man was drinking.
"What is that?"

Fai finished off his wine and slipped off of Mmur's shoulder, bowing slightly to the war horsemen. "This, my dear, is a lovely vintage of my own making," he said, holding up a bottle of dark red wine for her to see. "One of the few bottles that I am not aging-- somewhere else," he said with a glance at the scarelings. "I am Faiyum Riaz, Alchemist of the Famine Clan."
It was astonishing--he clearly smelled as if he'd finished off a bottle before this, but he acted as sober as a priest. "I am very good with plants," he added. "Would you care to try, my new friends?" he asked the other horsemen. "Oh, but we are supposed to be dressing..."
Like a horseman wouldn't stand out regardless, he thought with amusement. "Tell me, do you think they have a hat big enough for Precious to fit in it?" The living hair waved in the air, looking at everyone in turn.
