Why this name? It's a type of flowering tree that gives off a very masculine feel in both looks and name. Being that it's a very sturdy name, I thought it funny if I named the shy guy that.
Personality: Alder is a very gentle soul who enjoys the simple things in life. He's a tad lazy, as he would rather lay around in his family's flower field than do anything else. Because of his laziness, he never really found an interest in his father's artistic endeavours, latching onto his mother's interest in nature. He adores flowers more than anything, except his loving family, and will often wander in search of new beauties to behold. Why this name? It stuck in my mind and I wanted to stay close to his parents' namesakes. It is also a name of an Archangel. But it gives off a certain "hope" when said. It expresses a sense of "jovial" contentment. It is subtle, but relaxing.
Personality: Aspiring: He inherits his parents artistic talents . Jo (for short) can become completely intoxicated by the world's natural beauty that he daydreams. He is always looking for innovative ways to express an item's natural attractiveness. But most of the time he just paints; featuring almost always still life. He is always looking for ways to change the way he approaches his art. Jo just doesn't want to cramp his father's style, so he wants to find something that will make him stand out from his father's shadow.

Poem/Story Title: Shamrock Dreams
Mom, dad, I had this dream, would you like to listen? Okay! Here goes! I was sleeping beneath that big wispy tree… the willow? Anyway! There I was in a meadow, bounding about all the little flowers. And, and there was this huge green bush in front of me! It was so weird. Then, there was this little thing… someone like you, dad. The little guy was just buzzing about it and it noticed me!
It flew over to me and it bounced off my nose! He squeaked at me and said, "Oops, sorry about that, kiddo." I told him that it was okay. I asked him what the bush was and he told me, he told me that the bush was an overgrown clover shrub. Heh, shrub, such a funny word.
He said that it was protected by magical fairies and that at the top there was a huge four-leaf clover! Boy, I really wanted to see it! So he told me that I could try and climb up through the branches to see the top. So I did! I climbed and climbed. And just as I saw light break through the top I was blinded by the sun. But, it wasn't the sun! No, it was this strange light. I tried to blink the shine away, but when I closed my eyes I woke up! Do you think it was true? That there is such a thing as a four-leaf clover?

Why this name? In a rough translation it means Warrior of the Lily. I wanted to incorporate the Lilly in his mother’s name. I love the name Kalan, I was looking up male fairy names, since the flutters have always reminded me of faeries so thus the name :}
Personality:
He loves all things to do with nature and artistic wonder the natural world seems to express to those who are willing to look. He is a perfect blend of both of his parents, he is quite but when he begins to open up and talk about a subject he enjoys he will be as vocal as a mocking bird. Creativity flows through his veins but as a young colt he cannot seem to find what craft suits him the best, he does not feel that he is a poet, yet he can sense that there is a sonnet in him that wishes to be spoken; he does not see himself as a painter, yet he feels a vivid masterpiece rests inside of him. He continues to try to figure out his true self and how it fits with nature in a compatible loving way.

He loves flowers and has dreams of making his own garden near the meadow filled with vibrant flowers of all colors and scents that allure those who walk near.

Why this name? Both tie in flowers, but lilacs are special to me due to memories with my grandmother, plus we were both born in May, and I like Chika from Ouran HS Host Club.
Personality: Boisterous: This little foal's body can't seem to contain the amount of energy it has! S/he can't seem to keep them self from wrestling with it's siblings, rough housing with his parents, and over all making itself a nuisance. When someone actually can get this little one to sit still for more then a split moment, one would find they have a very wonderful singing voice, and a mind mad for inventing stories, if only they would put their mind to something other then action!
Anything else you would like to include:
Male or Female, I am thinking this foal would have a hard time fitting in with its family because it'd always want to be on the move. Dancing would work well for this foal, but they would be a very active foal, and would be a bit rough around the edges. Who knows though, is not a sculpture only a block of wood until whittled into a masterpiece?
