"After ditching me in the middle of a fight with two heroes, while this little Rosie of mine was also in the building, she can worry herself all the way to the funny farm," the Joker said, completely devoid of any humor, "And while you're taking her there, drop your little girl off as well; there's something off about her. I can feel it." As he spoke, his gaze fell upon the Rosie standing next to Vice. "Something... familiar about her."

The Rosie next to Vice looked up at Joker. She made eye contact with him as Vice began speaking again, and kept it locked there for as long as he kept it. A large... wickedly happy little grin curled around her lips.

"As I understand it..." Vice began, "She had a great deal of outside help with the whole "ditching you" thing. It wasn't by choice, and it sure as hell wasn't intentional." he said. He didn't remark about the comment Joker had made about the little Rosie. He could tell that she was... a little more mischivious than little kids normally were around him. They just acted up. This one... was different. He just figured he'd let Gossamer short that all out. "She'd been told repeatedly that you were a big boy and could take care of yourself. Got into situations like that all the time. As soon as she got her little job taken care of, she could go back and help." he said then sighed a bit. "Never got the chance to. If it makes you feel any better, she got her a** kicked and carted off to some anti-power jail in space. Sounds nuts I know, but I had a hell of a time getting out of there. By the time she got out, you had already taken Rosie here and went into hiding."

As the smile crept up the face of Vice's Rosie, the clown's eyebrow raised in quiet disturbance; it reminded him of Kid Karnevil, the little Joker wanna-be he'd met on the death world the Suicide Squad had dumped most of the supervillains from his Universe on.

Mentally shaking off that moment of eeriness, the Joker replied as he shifted his gaze back to Vice,
"Of COURSE I took care of myself... By throwing myself out of a skyscraper to get away from a Bat! No worse for the fall, I managed to collect Rosie, and we've been fine ever since. Up until a moment ago, we'd had a fine little hideout going, complete with a pink bedroom. And then ANOTHER Bat came along and ruined everything."

Then, a glimmer of suspicion came across his eyes. "You wouldn't know anything about that, would you?"

The little Rosie giggled quietly to herself. Vice simply shrugged at the Joker. "Not really. I was following this little girl... who said she knew an enterance to one of your hideouts. I wouldn't have even known to come down here if I hadn't run into her."

He... left out the bit that Gossamer had lept out of bed and ran out the door after a communicator the Bat had given her went off. And that he had come down this way because he had left a tracer on her boot and was following her signal. So... technically he didn't know about the Bat persay...

"So a little girl led you here," the Joker said, disbelief thick in his voice, "And they call ME the Joker! I think you're lying to me..." For the first time since talking about how Gossamer left him high and dry, a smile crept onto his face. "...And I don't like liars. Reminds me of my first job..." What that first job was, the clown hadn't the foggiest idea, but it was probably true.

"Is that supposed to be an insult? It sounded like an insult..." Rosie said, looking up at Vice. "Just because I"m a little girl I wouldn't know how to-"

"I don't think he's implying that as much as he's just trying to get me to say something or pick a fight." Vice replied.

"Pfft. Still sounded like an insult to me..." Rosie muttered. "With all the cameras they have hooked up to survaliance stuff, I could tell ya where his computer geek likes to-"

"So if you don't believe that this... wonderful little girl led me here... then how do you think I knew to come down here and look?" Vice asked, crossing his arms.

"I think the Bat led you here," the Joker said, anger adding a nuance to his voice, "And you don't want me to know about it because you know that I will not trust ANYONE affiliated with the Bat-family." His hand moved in front of Rosie, becoming suddenly very protective of her. "I may have been born during the day, but it wasn't yesterday! You didn't think I'd find it suspicious that on the very same night that our hideout was attacked but a man dressed up as a flying rodent, the man my former fling designed her little girl to recognize as father coincidentally shows up? My name is the Joker, not the Fool."

Vice's eyes widened a bit and he blinked. "Really?" he asked. "Is that how she referred to me?"

The little girl beside him began giggling. "Congradulations... you have approxamately thirty-eight little bundles of joy."

Vice sighed, then got back on track. "Well... I'll admit I'm flattered. Last I heard from her, she was pretty pissed at me. She actually modled the kid to think of me as Dad? Huh. Regardless... I suppose I'll give you that. Fine. Yeah. I might have been tipped off." he replied. "Goss was all for ripping his ears off and shoving them where the sun don't shine." he lied. "But I figured if anyone was gonna be able to find you... it would be a Bat. So... you know. Might have kept tabs on him."

Joker's eyes narrowed. "No one keeps tabs on a Bat unless the Bat LETS YOU keep tabs on him." He was visibly becoming angrier. "You need to stop lying to me, or I'll... I'll... I'll hurt you. Badly." Although the clown had no way of knowing, his temperament was finally beginning to give way to Vice's personality-enhancing powers; his usual mood swings were becoming stronger.

"What can I say... force of habbit." Vice replied calmly. Perfect... a rage type. That was always nice to have around little kids. "Though after saying how much you hate people who associate with the bat, can you blame me for trying to turn it around like that?" he asked, then glanced down at the Rosie next to him.

She looked... more than a little excited to see the clown become angry.

"So.... if we're going to have a talk that's going to make us not like each other, or worse... why don't we send the kids out of the way. No need for them to see grown men fight... or hear words they probably shouldn't." he said, looking back to the clown.

The Joker shook his head. "And wait for an accomplice to snatch her while we go at it? No, thank you." The clown backed up a little, paranoia starting to overtake anger. "I don't want a fight. I will if you give me no choice, but if that happens, one of us will die. The girls don't need to see that. Let us go."
PostPosted: Sun Mar 31, 2013 4:37 pm

"Well... with as worried as Goss has been about your Rosie, I can't just let you walk off." Vice replied.

"Plus it'll be fun to see how you kill a ghost." the other Rosie said with a grin.

"If you insist on taking off... then I'm going to have to tail you. Or, you know, scar the kids for life. Whatever happens." Vice continued. Then he paused a moment in thought. "Or...we could have a little pow-wow and get things settled out."

Suddenly, the Joker was all smiles again; his fractured personality was truly being brought out by Vice's powers. "I love pow-wows! Both of us leave the girls at home; neither of us wants any foul play. Anywhere in particular?"
PostPosted: Sun Mar 31, 2013 5:05 pm

"Awwww..." the other girl whined. Not happy with the idea of missing the show.

"Alright. Seems like a better deal if the girls are both out of the way. As for the location..." Vice mused, taking a long moment to think. "How about that museum that's sort of towards New York. Seems like a good middle ground. You're Gotham based, I'm a New Yorker. Museum is about dead middle."

Actually the layout was wacked out thanks to the universal merging. That museum SHOULD have still been part of New York. The buildings around the museum were just like the ones he used to run around as a kid. Museum should have been a club, but what the hell. He still knew the other buildings in and out.

"If not I know a good bar down by the river towards new york. Another middle ground area. And if things get ugly we have the option of trying to drown each other or a nice little dumping spot." He added. The bar was new, but Goss would DEFINATELY be familiar with the river.

"I like the bar idea," Joker replied, his smile turning slightly sadistic, "Especially because if it should go bad... Well, if a shark couldn't drown me, how can you hope to?" He exuded confidence when he mentioned that particular matter.
