I GIVE YOU...

Manta was quick to act, rushing in silently after Ryuu was clearly finished. The young man picked up the boy, slinging him over his shoulder as if he weighed nothing. "I'll be back in half an hour, you have exactly that much time to recover." Manta left at a dead sprint, his long, lean legs putting the cliffs behind him in no time.

As he arrived at the hospital, he simply put Ryuu down in an empty room, and washed his own hands, after which he put on a pair of sterile gloves. When he had put them on, he came over to Ryuu, and promptly bandaged him up, putting gauze and pads over his cuts, and applying ointment to his bruises. When he was finished, he left the genin there, leaving a note for a doctor to treat him, and returned promptly to the Cliffs. "Well, now it's my turn," he said, awaiting his opponent.

(OOC: I just thought I should mention that Ryuu is most likely still dieing. You did stop the bleeding but, he most likely has internal bleeding as well as other problems. He still needs a hospital or a medic nin to help him.)

I GIVE YOU...

When Manta returned, he found himself surrounded by large, black crows. They began to swoop down, their menacing, sleek bodies hurtling towards him. Manta recognized the jutsu for what it was, but was still definitely trapped in it. As the crows came down, he performed the necessary hand signs, and as both crows and kunai came in, a puff of smoke went up. When the smoke cleared, the four kunai were embedded deeply into a thick log, and the crows had disappeared, the lightning-fast reaction forcing Manta out of the illusion.
The young Jounin reappeared right behind his student, a single shuriken clenched tightly between his fingers, its razor-sharp point just barely pricking the surface of the skin around Maki's collarbone.
"As admirable as your quick thinking and even faster attacks are, the idea was to expend your chakra, and fight me using the shuriken that I now hold against your chest. I'm going to slowly back away, and then walk back to my beginning point. When I get there, use as much chakra as you can, as fast you can, against me. Doesn't matter if it's some sort of elemental release, or genjutsu, or anything. Just come at me quickly with all your best attacks, expend your chakra before the actual fight begins. The point of this exercise is to work on your physical capability. We'll try this again." Manta's voice was completely calm, but there was an edge to it, a tone that spoke of much pain if his orders weren't followed to the letter.
When he was done talking, Manta simply back up, and walked calmly over to his previous position, awaiting his opponent.

ULTIMATE JUSTICE.

Body Replacement Technique:
With this technique, users replace their own body with some other object, generally with a block of wood, the moment an attack lands. This creates an optical illusion, making the enemy think the attack was successful. From this, the user can use the lapse in the enemy's attention to attack or flee from the battlefield.

Maki Theme

Maki nodded, however he had not flinched when his Senpai had pulled off the counter-measure. He was faster and slightly faster than had previously anticipated. As his Senpai would walk back, he would make brief calculations within his head, the next fight was to be a physicality and not one of actual jutsu. This meant perhaps his Senpai was talented in taijutsu, which Maki was not of that caliber. Quickly he began forming hand signs and as the chakra kneaded within his body and mouth he released a continuous flame-thrower that would leave craters on the ground surface from where it hit, which he did in a circle motion, meaning fifteen feet ahead of him in a 360 degree form was a trench line filled with fire that could engulf the opponent if the fire were to hit them.

•Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique ~ C Rank
A technique where chakra kneaded inside the body is converted into fire and expelled from the mouth either as a massive orb of roaring flame or as a continuous flame-thrower. The scope of the attack is altered by controlling the volume of chakra that is mustered. The released flames will engulf their target, and leave a crater on the ground's surface. This technique apparently requires more than average chakra reserves and most genin should not be able to do this technique.

The Uchiha clan also uses this technique as a "coming of age" rite and as such was a common and one of the more favoured technique amongst them

I GIVE YOU...

Manta watched his opponent create the circle of fire, his face stony and expressionless. "Huh, so definitely a fire-release user, and at least somewhat talented in genjutsu." Manta whispered, to really no one in particular, mostly just a mental reminder to himself. When he fought, he would sometimes get too caught up the fighting itself, and figuring out how to take them down the fastest ways, and would forget to learn about his opponents, and use that to better himself.
This young man was definitely rather talented for a genin. Though it was only a C-rank jutsu, Maki seemed to be doing it spectacularly, with no weak points in his execution, maintenance of the flame, or his accuracy. Mantama was rather impressed.
"You've got a damn good fire-release," he said, loudly enough for Maki to hear. "I'm also a fire-release specialist, I think we'll get along splendidly. Now, your technique is great and all, and I don't mean to detract from it in the slightest, but I just thought you should see what a true master of Katon can do."
Manta closed his eyes, stood ram-rod straight, and simply breathed in, simulatenously performing the needed hand-signs. The hot, arid air was sucked in through his nostrils, and for a moment, all was still on the Cliffs. Then, Manta opened his mouth. The chakra had kneaded itself inside his stomach, and as he breathed out, a spout of flame shot out, a massive bullet of flames, reaching a width of almost twenty feet in diameter. The massive fireball churned wildly, barreling through, intentionally missing Maki, but just barely, striking the cliff wall many feet behind the Genin. The rock, unaccustomed to such a brutal onslaught of fire, crumbled, the blackened remains of the sandstone cracking on the hot desert floor. "Next time, I won't miss you, Maki. Don't waste both our time here, you're the one required to make the initial move."

Maki Theme

Maki smiled as his Senpai had copied him but used a bigger form of the fire technique, as he formed more hand signs, he had counted on his Senpai to not actually hit him and his Senpai had followed through. However now it was time for Maki to act, as he released the jutsu he took a deep breath and spun while exhaling, compressing the released air into a solitary blade of wind that covers a substantial area around Maki, not only could it hit in 360 degree's and at a wide range and originally cause grievous injuries to those hit, but, it also mixed with his Katon fireball jutsu which was also in a 360 degree trench around him. This made the wind blade shooting out much much more powerful as it was now moving katon chakra which fuuton chakra enhances. Originally the katon chakra from this jutsu would burn his enemies alive and the fuuton caused grievous injuries but now they were mixed together and the katon enhanced and going all around Maki at a wide distance. Maki smiled after completing this jutsu, he used a combination series and it seemed quite legitimately to be effective.

I GIVE YOU...

Again, this kid was really something. Now, Manta could see what the trench of fire had been meant for. It wasn't a defense, so much as it was to enhance the attack! It was a genius tactic. Of course, it was much harder to appreciate the attack when it was hurtling swiftly towards him.
Manta simply backed up, until he was right against the cliff face. Steadying himself, he quickly pumped chakra into his legs, jumping up nearly six feet in height, fastening himself to the wall with a kunai he had slipped from out of its holster. Using the kunai as a foothold, Manta jumped again, sprinting up the cliff wall as fast he could.
He was almost too late. When the wave struck, the cliff wall shattered, thousands of pounds of rock cascading down the side of the steep cliffs. Manta was almost carried away with the little landslide, but he jumped again, just barely clearing the side, making it back to the Cliffs.

"Whew, that was a close one. Where the hell did you learn to do that?" Manta asked, totally winded. "I'm gonna need a sec to catch my breath there, hold up, Maki."
Manta breathed for a few moments, stretching out his limbs. "I haven't had to move that fast in years. I'm an old fart, you don't need to just blow me away, jeeeeeez."
Manta straightened up, brushing off the rocks and dust from his black uniform. "But, in all seriousness, that was a great attack. However, what I can suggest at this point is this: Trap them beforehand. You saw how simple it was for me to just scoot back and escape that? You want to enclose them, maybe surround the area with explosive tags or something, so they can't just wriggle out of your attacks. I'm more slippery an opponent than most, but it's best to train like this, so you don't get caught unaware. But, that was much, much better than I expect any Genin to be able to do. Try again, you're running out of energy, better make the best of it."

• Kinobori no Waza - Act of Tree Climbing ~ E Rank
Kinobori no Waza, the art of tree climbing serves a dual purpose. Taking part in Kinobori Shugyou (Tree Climbing Training) helps a ninja learn how to focus their chakra. It also teaches the ninja how to run up trees and walk on vertical walls. The training helps the ninja learn how to focus just the right amount of chakra to a particular part of their body. The amount needed to climb is small but it must be precise. The feet are regarded as the hardest location to master chakra focusing. So by gaining the art of this skill, the ninja will have any jutsu available (theoretically) because they will be able to focus their chakra as needed.

Maki thought calmly as he began forming hand signals as his Senpai began to avoid the attack and run down the cliff. He knew his Senpai had told him to hold off, but that was not first listed, training could not be completed be slacking and missions were never completed by slackers! As he held the jutsu with one hand, Maki took the smoke from the Katon trench, which was in fact, was considered a poison and by releasing the jutsu and taking a small amount into the air the air surrounding both of them would be unable to be seen but poisonous and in that instant his Senpai would begin to see something... it was Ryuu limping in very bad shape towards him, outreaching his arm and calling for his teacher to help him, for he was bleeding... and dying.. as Ryuu fell to his knee's, he begged for his sensei to take the pain away, to save his life as blood began to pour out of Ryuu's eyes... Maki threw several kunai at his Senpai who would not see the kunai due to the Genjutsu.

I GIVE YOU...

Manta saw the smoke cloud coming towards him, and began to back up again, but was caught too late. When he saw Maki laying on the ground, he began to walk towards him, for just an instant. Then, he reminded himself, Maki had been totally fine just a moment ago. From the small bit he had seen of the Uchiha making hand-signs, he hadn't attempted anything major. So how could he be falling over, hurt?
It all made sense. The smoke was a decoy of some sort, or a trigger, for some kind of illusion. Maki was most likely just fine, behind the veil of smoke. In that instant, Manta's entire body clenched, and he swiftly pushed off the ground, propelling himself to the left. As he left, he just barely heard the kunai whistling by.
Manta tried to twist his body to dodge it, but the blade still got him, slicing open a shallow cut in his forearm. The jounin landed lightly, rolling to his feet in an instant. Nursing the cut, he simply backed up again, until he was sure he was at the cliff wall again. Suddenly, Manta began to cough. s**t, there was still the smoke! He had momentarily forgotten the veil of smoke, and he doubled over, his body wracked in coughing.
"You got me pretty good with that one, Uchiha. Let's see how you can do against this, though."
Mantama stood up, pulling out a scroll of cloth. When he unveiled it, it stretched on, almost twenty feet in length. Every foot-long increment, there were four tiny shuriken. When he finished unpacking, he swung out with both hands, sending all the shuriken, that had been ingeniously attached to tiny threads, flying out, in all directions. Mantama made massive sweeping motions, sending his shuriken out in all directions, to probe out his enemy.

As his Senpai jumped to the left and began a jutsu, a giant wall filled with shuriken appeared. Maki smiled and awaited the attack. There wasn't much he could do, he was bound... and couldn't move. On came the kunai and he smiled, making a fierce smile that had shown no fear in the face of his oncoming onslaught. "My name is Maki Uchiha... and I have completed my mission." He stated calmly, more of to himself then anyone, "Now death, come forth and show me what you've got." He stated ferociously. He truly believed he was going to die as the oncoming shuriken were about to pierce his body. With the completion of his mission he had no regrets.

As he heard the voice, Manta quickly wrenched apart his hands, scattering the shuriken away from Maki. For a few, brief moments, everything was still. As the smoke settled, Manta saw his student about 50 meters away from him, bound and surrounded by shuriken. Thankfully, none had pierced him.

"Well, you sorta passed. The goal was to pierce me with this shuriken," Manta said as he pried the aforementioned shuriken from the tree stump it had been embedded in since the beginning of the fight. "But you still cut me, and I expended a fair bit of energy, so we'll say you passed."

Manta walked to his student, dispelling the jutsu, and firmly shook Maki's hand.

Mood: Alright.
Who he is with: Maki Uchiha and Manta.
Where he is: The cliffs.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ryuu made his way up the cliff path and when he got there, he saw all of the destruction that the two shinobi had made when he was gone. It seemed that they were really strong. Obviously the Jounin was but, the genin was a surprise. Ryuu shrugged and looked around for his stuff. After a few seconds of looking, he saw his bag and he made his way over to it. He picked it up and went back to a shady spot to sit down. He hoped that no one had seen him but, he wasn't really sneaky about going there. I need to train hard to be able to beat that uchiha. Ryuu thought to himself as he sat down. After he sat down he went through his bag to see if everything was there. Everything was there, even that stinky fish. Ryuu took out the fish and set it down and looked through his bag more. He found his med kit and set it down next to him. Ryuu then closed the bag and set it aside. Once the bag was aside, Ryuu grabbed both the fish and the med kit and set them infront of him. He needed to train so he figured that the Mystical Palm Technique would be a good place to start.
