Orpheus Solon Oh no, oh no! Not another one. Pangolin quickly scrambles away from this new person. Oh, where are all these big scary things coming from? It didn't do anything, why do they keep coming back. Pangolin never bothered them. They are so big, with thoughts so loud and bright. Were they gone yet? Pangolin mustered it's courage and bravely peeked out to see. Ah! No! Nope, nope, nope, back inside it goes.

Mairin sighed and shook her head, it seemed like the dragonet inside the pangolin egg was a bit of a fraidy feline and wasn't going to let her know much about it. There wasn't much she could do about that, hopefully the baby calmed down before hatching day or found someone with an equally quiet and shy mind to find companionship with. Quiet and shy were definitely not her strong points and Mairin wasn't about to change herself even if it meant one less dragonet that she might impress
Moving on Mairin approached the large, spotted, Serval Egg . It's spots formed sets of stripes in a way that gave the overall egg a very organized look to it's patterning. Would she find an organized mind inside? Carefully the young woman reached out to rubs the tips of her ringers over the top of the shell where it was darkest.

A soft sound of surprise escaped from Ameleia as the egg reacted in such a manner to her greeting, seeming to be afraid of her, "Ahh... it's alright, I am not here to scare you." He said, petting a hand against the shell of the egg in a soothing manner, "I just wanted to say hello is all." She told the little one within the egg before she gave it a smile. Best that she didn't spend too much time with her greeting of this particular egg, not wanting to risk giving the poor little baby a heart condition before it had even had a chance to hatch, "I will be going now." She said as she pushed up to her feet, brushing off the sand as she looked to the eggs that were closest to her.
There was a trio of pretty eggs fairly close by, all quite pretty, she would move over and visit with them next she decided. Walking over to those three eggs she reached out to brush her hand against the glittering shell of the large, golden egg, "Wow, aren't you a pretty one." She said in awe, the egg glittered just like Caylith did and was surprisingly large compared to all of the other eggs, making it stand out on the sands.

R'yn pretended to think about Ticene's words before giving her a board grin. "I only tell Tiry the truth," he said. "So if I did put it into her head that she belongs here on the sands with you, she must." The bronzerider knew that one day, he would perhaps regret his need to spoil Tirynne. Perhaps he would, when she was old enough to remind him of what he'd said turns before. That knowledge wouldn't keep it from happening, he knew. She was perfect. The way she smiled when she saw him. The way he could express his opinions without worrying about an argument.
"He is," he agreed with a grin. "You should hear him, I don't think he remembers a time there wasn't a gold on the sands." He shook his head ruefully. "I think parents have dragon memories, Tic," he said. "I can't remember how life was without Tiry." He hesitated at her next words, studying her carefully before breaking out into another grin.
"You're on," he said. "Can't have our Weyrlingmaster expecting a quiet bunch. I imagine Calith would make the best Weyrlingmaster Pern's ever seen. They seem to suddenly remember every rule when she's around." He glanced up at Calith appreciatively.

ladyumbra A confident greeting slithered out to greet Mairin. Why hello there. Come to play a game with it have you? It's previous guests had been less than willing. You candidates aren't a very pro-active bunch, are you? But perhaps you are different, hm? Mairin? Are you willing to step up and be noticed? It would be easy to play a trick here. So very simple. Or you could just go back to calming touching eggs and following the rules. Orpheus Solon A gentle, rippling, laughter washed over Ameleia. It was very nice of her to say such things to it. Oh, but you are such a sweet and supportive little thing, aren't you? The egg sifts through the young girl's head. Her touch, perhaps, a bit heavier than would be expected from one as good-natured as the dragon within seemed to be. Still, they seemed impressed with this young one, the choices she made to defend the secret of a friend. The laugh was fond as Spotted Hyena ceased its searching, yes, this one was definitely an honourable soul.

Rules existed so that everything functioned as it was supposed to but Mairin was curious about what the Serval egg wanted from her and continued to hover near it, fingers brushing over it. The seacraft apprentice was also very much a meddler and tricks were like meddling with a slightly antagonistic purpose. She might be able to help provided no one would get hurt. Life was best when there was bit of excitement, a bit of thrill to keep you moving towards your next goal.

ladyumbra Serval seemed to scoff at Maririn's idea. Is that what rules were for? Seemed to them rules were just ways to restrain those who could be truly great. A way to keep those at the top in power without actually having to fight for it. Still the spotted egg was curious that she had chosen to stay. Perhaps she wasn't so against the idea. As long as nobody got hurt? Well, if she wanted it that way, Serval didn't mind if the trick was harmless. Come on, Mairin, you can do it. They only need a little prank.

Lavi hovered at the back of the sands, watching carefully the candidates as they went around touching the eggs. If you'd have thought Tic would be worried, somehow Lavi managed to look twice as nervous. After all, it was her job to keep the candidates in line, so it it was her responsibility if they somehow mangaed to harm an egg. Fortunately, though, everything seemed to be going smoothly. Or at least as smoothly as she could hope for.
Finally, with more and more candidates just milling around, it seemed most of them had managed to touch all of the eggs, or at least all the ones they wanted to. In any case, they couldn't dilly dally here all day; the candidates had chores and lessons to get back to, and she was certain the weyrwoman had better things to do as well.
So, from the back of the room, Lavi clapped her hands loudly. "Alright, candidates, that's enough!" she shouted. "I hope you all of you were able to touch all the eggs that you wanted. If not, that's too bad. You'll just have to wait until the hatching." she said, rounding them all up to head back to the barracks, but not before (hopefully) they made their polite fairwells to the weyrwoman and her dragon.

Ameleia gave a bit of a smile as the laughter washed over her, a rather nice sound if she did say so herself. When the one that was within the egg commented about her being sweet and supportive she couldn't help but to smile, a light flush appearing on her cheeks, "Ahhh, wow. Thank you, that is very kind of you to say." She murmured in response to the glittering egg. Turning to look down at the two that were sitting down next to the Queen's Egg, looking them over, "The two of you are quite pretty as well, aren't you?" She asked of the eggs before she heard Lavi calling out to them.
Her blue eyes turned to looking toward the woman when she said that she hoped that they had enough time to touch all of the eggs that they wanted because otherwise it was 'too bad'. She blinked a couple times, lifting an eyebrow at those words, "That seemed a bit harsh." She murmured to herself before she turned to the other two eggs, "I am sorry that we didn't have a chance to talk, I hope that we see each other at the hatching." She told her the two eggs, giving them a smile and a pat before she pushed to her feet and hurried along. One last thing to do before she hurried off the sands, barely able to contain her excitement and excitement.
Giving the Weyrwoman and her Gold each a bow he Ameleia said, "Thank you for the time with the eggs, it was like nothing I could have excepted." She said to them both before turning to Caylith, "Thank you for earlier. I hope that you both have a good day." She said, bowing again before she headed off with the other candidates. How she wanted to find T'dej, to tell him all about what had happened on the sands, so terribly excited that she might very well be training alongside her best friend one day soon.
