Steepling his fingers, the doctor gave Ami a wide, pleased smile, "Clarice, I don't believe we've had a chance to replace young Mr. Ripley after his tragic fate last fall, hm?"
The assistant gave Ami an assessing look and then finally nodded, "It's been covered in sporadic shifts since then, but that's all."
"Excellent, I'll give the library over to your care, Ms. Raine. Clarice will see that you get the keys this evening. The library's computer equipment should be adequate for your archival purposes, but Caelius's assistant has made a bad habit of hmmm...borrowing from us. If more is needed, simply file a request with my assistant. I'll allot you two minions of your choice from the trainees and intermediates. More will come with results. We'll continue with the same budget as last year for acquiring new texts and repairing the old. Will that suffice? Wonderful, next."

A quick hand went to Ami's hand, giving it a discreet squeeze once she sat down.
"Great job; the Doctor seems to really like the idea. Pull me?" He whispered, smiling into her ear.

Though Lucky's arrival definitely overshadowed Mimsy's by a longshot, she didn't seem to mind. She followed behind him with her own armful of folders and paperclipped stacks, bending down to pick up a stray sheet from his notes every now and then. When he finally picked a place to stand still, she silently put the runaway pages atop those in his arms with no further acknowledgement.
She sighed a tiny, almost inaudible sigh as she waited her turn, focusing her attention on the man at the head of the table, at whom she stared perhaps a little too long.
That must be him. That must be their Stark.
Brows furrowed, she thumbed through some of the information she carried, trying to make a few last-second rearrangements. Making herself look bad in front of him would be the worst mistake of her new career. Forgiving herself for missing the discovery of the Higgs was one thing; she was certain that she would never forgive herself for looking foolish in front of him.

Rin blushed embarrassedly at Leon, "Ugh, it's so humiliating... but, whatever gets me what I need." She wondered distantly if this meant she was some sort of whore now. She frowned deeply and considered leaving to change her clothes back. yep, she was going to change back. Byr protested in her thoughts but she was going to do it. She can't stand in front of all these people like thisss....
Then, her escape route was cut off.
She stared at the new presence that moved in behind her, she did not really recognize the man. She blinked slowly at his question before answering, "...Yes."

Melvin looked over the card, not at all caring about the strike out. What mattered was that despite the quip about him not being terribly focused on his presentation, he was being given clearance, resources, lab time, and even the luxury of a tablet. That alone had him easing into his chair with a small smile and a load of relief. It went far better than he predicted. Considering he didn't exactly like Dr. H, at least the man wasn't going to be a d**k about people who wanted to work.
Pocketing the card, he glanced over to see Rin and a few others by the door, but the most important thing was that Rin was in a dress with a short skirt. The fact that most people were now pressed and polished in their best dress was really a sight to behold.
Melvin looked forward to the next meeting.

Tori had quickly and quietly slipped into the room as she knew that she was late even if she wasn't required to be here she wanted to see how the meeting went. Looking around to see just who was here and when Tori did spot Dr. H she totally didn't want to draw any attention to herself to him since she was still scared of him.
Spotting Ami did the lifer quietly go over to where her friend was sitting. Seeing Lex Tori squinted right at him, examining Lex with the judgment of a good friend since Tori wanted what was best for Ami. As then she promptly sat down right next to him. Taking out her note book to make notes while she was still judging you Lex.

Ami's entire body seemed to sag with a sigh of relief at the Doctor's approval. Her face positively lit up when he mentioned keys to the libraries.
KEYS TO THE LIBRARIES.
Lex's hand was probably the only thing keeping her tethered to the ground. She couldn't even hide her happiness as she whispered back to Lex, "I don't know ... A man who hasn't even memorized Ancient Atlantean hmmm." Her sarcasm was burdened with the promise of the position. Why wouldn't she pick him? He was close to her, that was what you did. You picked people you could depend on.
It did limit her choices to only one trainee left though. She gazed around the room. Leon, Melvin, Rin, a woman she'd never seen before, a man she'd never seen either. She didn't know most of them well enough and she was ninety percent sure most of them didn't like her. Especialy Leon and Rin.
A smile slipped on her face as Tori walked in the room. She gave her friend a little wave with her free hand, not able to say much more since they were in a meeting. Why did he eyes keep flicking to Lex? Maybe he had something on his face. Oooh that was embarrassing.
With H's bark for the next person, Ami slid a bit more comfortably into her chair. Her presentation was done, so she could relax, put up her feet (metaphorically, of course, as Ami would never do such a brash thing in public) and listen aptly to everyone else.

It looked as if Melvin had gotten his wish out of the mission. The blonde had such a rough time before when they went searching for artifacts, and now he was going to be up to his eyeballs with them. "Good for you Melvin." Leon offered in encouragement, patting the man on the shoulder as he worked to move past him and Ami, the weaving of a folder full of papers and flash cards carefully placed in some relevance in order, gingerly moving around and towards the presentation area.
It was time to aim high Leon.
"Well then." he began, clearing his throat and giving the committee a look of apology before starting up with papers in hand. "In the life division, we have focused on the studies of our runic technology and the pursuit of understanding FEAR. what it is, and what are its effects. We have done numerous test, extrapolating its levels on intensity and the decomposition rate of fear creatures at rest along with many other published journals." the statements were long, the introduction more of a biography of what the division set out to do, it did nothing to calm him as he walked around with the material in hand.
"But the data that we have on FEAR in extreme conditions seem to be lacking, I feel that under these specific types of stress, we may find a way of unlocking a method of containment or isolation in FEAR particles, possibly even a way to repel it under the right circumstances." he paused, taking a look to see who was still with him, and who was dazed out into the colors of the walls, looking for a different shade to ponder over.
He only hoped that the outfit he wore was enough to garnish their attention back. "Scenarios like being 3000 leagues under ocean water, or being at the highest altitude capable for humans to have a usable supply of oxygen to live off of." he paused again. "The hypothesis that I truly wish to explore is the effects of being in a zero gravity environment, and 225 million kilometers away from earths gravitational pull." he only hoped their curiosity piqued their attention, and interest in the potential study.
"I wish to have a small gathering of hunters, one or two from each division and take as many specimens for study, in space." As far as the fighter was aware, there was not study in those conditions in their journals and it was worth a look into it.
It was all about convincing the life division committee to fund the project. with the general plans all laid out before them, he had nothing left to do but close his open hands and put the papers down. "I am open for any questions concerning the project, if not, I hope you will take my study into consideration. Thank you."

Tori did give Ami, a little but bright smile followed by a little wave in return. She did have to wonder why Ami had been standing but later she would ask her friend.
Nope Lex didn't have anything on his face that was embarrassing. She was silently judging him to make sure he would be up to par. Tori was going to protect Ami the best that she could since Tori cared a lot for her very good friend. So Lex make sure not to hurt Ami or Tori will come and get you.

Lex smiled a little at Ami's joke, whispering "Well I've got Latin and Norse down pat; but I wouldn't mind an Atlantean tutor." before Leon got up and made his presentation.
Hunter...astronauts? He quirked an eyebrow at the former boxer, but he could sort of see it. If Ghosts and Demons existed, aliens probably did too. He wasn't signing up, but he'd wish Leon's team luck.
When a Lifer he hadn't met slid into the chair next to him, Lex offered a little smile.
"Name's Lex. I don't think we've met?"

Taking down a few notes from Leon's presentation as it was interesting at the least.
Tori did make a mental note that Lex was polite, but she was still judging him as she glared just a little longer. "No we haven't," or at least not formally Tori thought. "I'm Tori, its a pleasure to meet you Lex," she said quietly and offered just a little smile back. Just a little one since Lex was being polite and for that got one little good mark in mental notes on Lex. You still have a way to go Lex and she was watching your ever move.

Yeah, she definitely hadn't prepared for this as well as she should have. Maybe she wasn't cut out for this science s**t. The redhead chewed on a nail and hung out in back.

The doctor stared at Leon for a moment, then turned to Clarice, "Put Mr. Stone in charge of our space program, my dear."
The blonde squinted back with a frown, "We don't have a space program. That's ridiculous, we don't have any means to..."
"Yes, well. That's Leon's problem."
Sitting back, Clarice just went with it and decided to be glad Leon wasn't ******** around with the vending machines again. "And what's the program budget?"
"Hmmmm, two hundred a month."
"Workspace?"
"Oh there's that old mechanics garage in town, have that cleared out and repaired."
"Equipment?"
"A laptop."
"Anything else?"
Turning to Leon the doctor smiled benevolently, "While you build your space shuttle, you may also have access to the portals to test FEAR in extreme conditions with whoever is suicidal enough to go along with you. I'd suggest Collins and Reid from the Sun division. Next!"

Clerise half-raised her hand before heading to the presentation area.
Good lord. Why hadn't she taken some liquid courage before heading down here. Public speaking was rarely a problem, but this smart people business was a few shots above her.
"So, uh. We're all hunters-- or trainees, or whatever. We've been to the poles, to the desert, to jungles and to enemy lands on missions, be they recon or survival or to. You know. Subvert an apocalypse." She touched her cuffed arm, but decided not to say anything about weirdass haunted mansions. So instead, Clerise just flipped to the next card.
"And that s**t is dangerous. Which, yeah, I know. That puts it lightly and candidly in a way that sounds derrr herr obvious-- but that doesn't make it any less true. Pendanting out is convenient, when you can do it. If you're not running for your life from a bunch of ponies or hellbent teenagers from Hell. If the conditions are stable enough. If they don't see you, smell you, or feel you in that sort of creepy way they always seem to know where you are--"
The redhead stopped herself.
"Uh, yeah, okay. So to get to the point, a cloaking device would probably help some of our frontline assholes have a higher survival rate when things go sour. I'd like to start work on one."

Leon didnt expect much more than thought. he hoped for alot, however. He was going to have to make due with what he got.
For now it was going to be rocket propelled minibeasts going off into the unknown.
and travels into deadly territory with hunters. "I will try and bring further information to cement my theory then, thank you." Looks like space testing wasn't going to happen yet.
by now, he really thought the hunters would have a space station by now. fornow, his attention was on Clerise's presentation.
the tie was fully opened and the first few shirt buttons were opened. the carefully coiffed appearance was done with.
