True enough the entire day had been awkward and though Keilana wanted to go home, wash...and curl up into a ball and sleep the day away she knew her brother would have questions for her. The marks ...for instance...and where she had been all day long without telling him a thing about where she was going...and knowing her brother he would probably have a vague idea what she had purchased and was probably fuming.

"I'm in no rush to get home....I have...things I'd rather not face until I am feeling at least...solid on my feet." She replied honestly wondering just why she was so concerned about what her brother would think about this. Of course ..she had no intentions of letting him know either. At least not all of the details. "Maybe...you know..."

Keilana was about to suggest something ludicrous, perhaps they could meet again? While sober? Did...she really want to go that route? Right now she didn't feel quite so lonely as when she was at home...or even when she visited her best friend Animah. "well I guess we'll see..." she supposed it would matter if her brother killed her or not...she for certain wasn't going to tell him it was Chalcedony...since it had been him that had beat up her brother in the first place..

Hrm, if she wasn't heading home soon because she wasn't solid on her feet he supposed that it was best that he waited here with her. He didn't want to leave her along when she was in such a condition after all since he was helping to put her in said condition, "Alright, we can wait a bit." He said finally, deciding that it was probably best that they waited... though really he wondered if waiting here was for the best. How long did he really expect for them to be safe if they stayed in one place forever? Looking around, then up, he said, "Best that we probably go up a little ways, wait there, we don't have to worry about as many critters that way... and given how long we have been here they are probably aware of us by now..." Given what they had been doing as well they had probably been noticed. Best that they vacate the place, take to the trees, rest there.

Giving her a smile he said, "I will help you up, we aren't going far, just far enough up that we aren't noticed is all." He told her, wanting to get the two of them up to safety. He would feel better about it, knowing that they were up off the ground when they had spent so much time on the ground, even sleeping there, it was weird to do so even though he'd done just that for quite a while during the journey to Zena. Now that he was home though he felt strange not being in the trees when it was where his people be longed, not frolicking on the forest floor where a lot of dangers were located, "Do you want me to carry the hammer?" Or did she want for him to carry her? Either way he supposed that he would volunteer for whichever task that she preferred.

Keilana tilted her head wondering just by what he meant by help her 'up'. She understood that they probably needed to leave the spot that they were at the moment since they had lingered there for...well she wasn't exactly sure just how long they had been there. Hours perhaps?

Looking to the hammer she went to heft it and felt herself grow unbalanced, she couldn't carry it just yet and thus she nodded her head. "Yeah...but...where exactly are we going?" She inquired not quite getting what he meant, until her eyes flickered to the trees and it clicked. Oh...no. She was NOT ...going up there. But it was safer than the forest floor at the moment so did she have any choice in the matter?

"Uggg...You're going to have to help me up there...I can't climb trees like your people can. I like having my feet on the ground thank you."

Chal looked up at the tree, at Kei, then gave a nod of his head, "Yeah, I don't mind." He said, the Shifters were born in the trees so climbing around in them was something that was completely normal for them. He would see about helping Keilana up into the tree to rest. From there he would be able to fetch something for her to eat and, if she wanted it, more water. First thing first though, climbing the tree, "If you want to hold onto your hammer in one hand and give me the other I will help you keep your balance on the way up. We don't have to go up too far, just far enough that we can hide ourselves within the branches from anything that might come walking by." He explained to her, not wanting for her to think that he was so mean as to make her climb to the top of the trees, not that he even went up that high most days. That was just asking for trouble.

Taking the Leaf Tribeswoman's hand in his he moved them along, taking the climb slowly, carrying his shield once more on his back despite the trouble it had gotten him into not that long ago. As they climbed he continued to glance back at her, making sure she was looking alright to continue and not as though she might be sick. Once they were finally where he deemed high enough, where the branches were still more then broad enough to hold them both, all their things, and to sit on comfortably enough, "Here, you can sit here, rest your back against the trunk of the tree." He said, patting a hand against it. She could rest well there, as well as be better hidden from above, "Is there anything you need?" He asked as he shrugged the shield off and set it down at his feet.

Keilana felt so very pathetic, unable to walk properly her head trying to split in two, and ...this man Chalcedony whom she slept with...she had to marvel at. Why would anyone NOT want to be with this guy? True he wasn't exactly the manliest man she had ever met but he was very kind..and considerate. Her face flushed as her thoughts derailed a moment. She ...guessed he was good in bed, it rather bothered her that she couldn't really recal the details of their...'interaction'. Given it was her first time...it would of been nice to at least remember some details.

Taking hammer in hand she rested it on her shoulder to bare the brunt of the weight before using her other hand to reach for Chal's. As they climbed the tree she had to firmly remind herself NOT to look down and once up there she collapsed against the tree's trunk quite happy to not be climbing it anymore.

When inquired to what she needed she pulled the hammer closer to herself. "ah...more water? and...that fruit sounds good...." She started and you could tell she was starting to recover as she chuckled, "And maybe a second round of...of sleeping together so I can remember the details..."

"Alright, water and fruit I can do." He said, giving her a smile, turning to seek out just that... and then nearly tripped over his own feet and out of the tree at her second request. Whirling around, food forgotten for the moment, he starred at the Leaf Tribeswoman with a somewhat surprised look plaster on his face, "A-Ah... W-What?" A second round of sleeping together so she could remember the details? Just the thought of that request caused his cheeks to go a dark red and he ducked his head, nudging a toe against the branch of the tree that he was standing on, "O-Oh... I-I don't know..." He said, sounding more then a little embarrassed over the fact that she was asking him such a thing. Should he indulge her request? A part of him was curious as well, he could recall flashes here and there, not having drank as much as her, but really he wasn't sure... Wasn't the whole reason that they had done what they'd done because they were drunk?

His blush seemed only to spread from there, "Y-Yeah... I... I don't know..." He said, shaking his head to try to clear his thoughts. He should probably focus on something else, probably breakfast, as well as the water that she had requested. He looked up at the tall trees for a moment, shifted in place, then jumped up to catch hold of the branch above him, pulling himself up to the next level so that he could seek out the curved leaves that collected the water. He took the first one of them, dumping it on his head to help to cool himself off as well as to help to get his brain working again before he caught hold of another one carefully, hopping down with it and landed in front of Keilana, "Here is the water. I-I will look for the fruit now. Will you be alright here for a little bit on your own?" He asked, not wanting to get in trouble with her for saying such a thing but at the same time he knew the dangers of the forest for someone that didn't look like she was ready for a fight.

Keilana noticed how flustered he got over her joke, though she had to ponder about it. Why ask if there was not some..ounce of honesty? She didn't recall much of any of it, but perhaps...now was just not the right time to ask him of such a thing. Perhaps if they got to know each other? Yeah she would go that route.

"I was joking Chalcedony..." She said finally hoping that it would ease his worries about having to perform again on the spot. She watched as he went to gather water and when he came back she couldn't help but marvel at his strength, even though he wasn't the manliest man she had ever met she could tell he had been training intensely.

"Yes I will be fine." She gestured to the hammer in her lap, she didn't wield it for nothing...though in her current state she wasn't sure if she could hit the broad side of a tree, she didn't want him to think she was desperate for his protection.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 28, 2013 11:07 am

"A-Ah... I see, joking." He murmured, cheeks flushing a bit as he realized that he had probably over reacted just a little bit. It was silly of him to think that she was being serious he thought to himself, lifting a hand up to scratch the back of his head, "I see, alright... that makes sense." Far more sense then her actually wanting another go, maybe she was just trying to clear the tension from the air? Not an easy task for sure but it was nice of her to try at least he decided before he lowered his hand, letting it rest at his side while she told him that she would in fact be alright if he left her alone here in the lower branches of the tree.

Chalcedony starred at Keilana for a long moment, starring at the one that he saw at the moment as his charge then after a long moment he gave a nod of his head, "If you are sure." He murmured, grabbing his shield, dragging it over, propping it up so that it would be in reach in case she needed to hide behind it. The hammer was all well and good but there were those out there with projectile weaponry after all. Nodding, looking pleased with the set up, the Shifter headed up the tree once more and was soon out of sight, swallowed up by the many, massive branches of the tree that they had set up their temporary perch on. He knew that what he had offered to get her, that being breakfast, grew a lot higher up then they were sitting at the moment. Sure, one could find little fruits toward the base of the trees but nothing like what grew much further up. The ones toward the base of the tree were more for the beasts of Jauhar that tended to care less about the flavor of their food like the various humanoids did.

As quick as he could manage later, one rather impressive climb up to where the fruit grew in the thickest, a picking spree, then back down again, the Shifter was left quite exhausted. He had plenty of fruit for the two of them, sure, but he really found himself wanting nothing more then to take a nap once he got back to the branch that he had left Keilana. She could enjoy the fruit that he had brought back for her while he flopped over on the branch and let himself rest up after the fetching of the fruit. Provided of course that she was still there. Was it possible that she would bail? He supposed that, if any time was good for just that, this was the best time for her to run off, after sending him off on an errand that would take a while.

Keilana had to wonder how much...Chalcedony believed her 'joke'. After all she wasn't entirely convinced herself if she was joking, but at the same time she felt that..perhaps she would probably never see him after this day. Part of her felt...a bit saddened by this obvious fact. Even as she watched his vanish from sight she looked at the shield he had left behind and...slowly reached for it. Though she didn't feel vulnerable she had the innate desire to touch the weapon.

Looking it over she noticed it seemed rather scratched up..some were fairly recent...proof of what had happened between them. Fingers lightly trailed across those ones and she felt a blush come across her face. Laying the shield she sighed and wondered how long she could avoid her brother today. Having no desire to rush back home she stayed where she was, what did she had to look forward when she got back? Probably a lecture and shouting match with Jac. Goody.

Part of her wondered if Chal had gone off, but that wouldn't make much sense since she had his shield, he would probably want that back right?

He had to admit as he made it down through the last few branches between himself and Keilana that he was a little surprised to see here there. It would have been the perfect time for her to run off and yet here she was. He was actually a little relieved, not having wanted for her to go wandering back toward the border between Jauhar and Tale on her own in her condition. Better that she rested up, ate some breakfast, and allowed for him to accompany her as far as the border. He wasn't sure if he wanted to go any further then that since it might end up getting him turned into a pin cushion by her brother or he would need to face Takoda... he didn't think that he could after what he'd done with Kei. So much for his feelings for the guy he thought to himself, not wanting to really think about how quickly he'd betrayed said feelings when given a bit of alcohol and a friendly companion.

Shaking his head to clear such things from his mind he hopped down, landing in front of Keilana where he hoped would be out of hammer's reach just in case she panicked over his arrival and took a swing, "Alright... got breakfast." He said, holding up the fruit that he'd put into the shirt that he'd tied into a makeshift sack, "Let's eat, huh?" He said, walking over to her, plopping down in front of her and dumped the bright red fruit out between the two of them, "I think all the ones I got were good but I would suggest giving them all a quick look, just to check for any bite marks left by birds or bugs." No reason to eat chewed on fruit when there was plenty for the both of them and then some after all.

Keilana had been almost nodding off, she was exhausted after everything and sleep...even on an uncomfortable tree branch, so it was no surprise when Chalcedony came back she started in surprise, her hand clutching her hammer out of reflex. When she managed to remember where she was and whom was in front of her she relaxed. Happy to see that he hadn't just left her there she eye'd the fruit he had brought her and giving a small apologetic smile as she tried to relax.

"Thanks..." Reaching up she accepted the offered fruit and gave a small raised eyebrow at his comment. Though she didn't want to appear rude and look over the fruit she now had the overwhelming urge to since he suggested it. Still she only looked over it briefly before bringing it to her lips and taking a bite. Her stomach clenched a moment and she was afraid she wouldn't be able to keep the fruit down. Slowly she chewed and the longer she did this the more hungry her stomach got. Feeling it was safe to swallow she did and she gave a sigh before taking another bite.

"Thanks, I appreciate it, though..I guess I can't hide in the forest forever.." Keilana managed through bites, she had been thinking about it..and she supposed she may as well get it over with.

Chalcedony watched her, eyes unblinking, as she picked up one of the pieces of fruit, gave it a minimal inspection, then took a bite out of it. It seemed for a moment as though she were battling it out in a contest of wills against her own stomach before finally swallowing, "The seeds are edible, though a bit crunchy." He warned, just in case she was used to fruit in which you just spit the seeds out. While he was sure that the forest would prefer her to do so, since more seeds meant more trees growing in the already massive forest, he figured that he should tell her what was best for her at the moment. She needed the nourishment, especially after being ill not that long ago.

After picking out a piece of the fruit for himself he started to dig in, nearly finishing it off before responding to what she said about being unable to hide in the forest forever, "Given the size of the place you'd be surprised." Though he was sure that she probably wanted to get home. The forest wasn't exactly treating her well, was it? First she got drunk, slept with one of the forest's inhabitant, then woke up hung over with bugs crawling on her. Not really the best introduction to Jauhar, was it? He wouldn't be surprised if turned tail, ran back home, and never came back to this place. It was something that would be a bit of a shame, since she wasn't as bad as her thief of a brother, but he couldn't understand at the same time, "Rest up as long as you need to then I will accompany you to the border." He told Keilana before finishing off the piece of fruit that he was holding before scooping up a second one. While he wanted nothing more at the moment then to take a nap here up in the protective branches of the tree he knew he couldn't just let her wander home when she wasn't as her best.

Keilana gave a small chuckle at his comment about getting lost in the forest, but ..he obviously didn't know just how her brother could be. He would probably search the entire damnable forest and rip it apart as well to find her, and if she wasn't found he'd probably scour Tale next...and who knows perhaps even go to the islands where the Alkidike's lived and rip up their mother tree. Okay so she may of been exaggerating on the last part but she wouldn't put it past him either.

Taking a few more small mouthfuls of fruit she wished she could truly enjoy it, these things would be considered a rare treat back home. Fresh fruit wasn't exactly something they had in abundance in Tale. But her stomach was still sore from throwing up earlier...and tender from the drinking binge...so every swallow ended up with her wondering if the contents would stay down.

Once finished she shifted and went to stand up, feeling antsy now that she had rested and wanting to get home. "yeah well...I can't hide forever. Got to go back and face the music as they say." She managed as she felt her body get use to standing again. Looking down she was sure that she was about to fall and she looked up immediately...right..they were in a tree. "You think you could help me down?"
PostPosted: Tue Mar 05, 2013 9:16 pm

Chal's concern for the woman seemed unwavering as he watched her contend with the fruit, looking as if she might not be able to keep it down. He hoped that she would though, not because he had fetched it for her but more because it would help her in the recovery process. She needed to eat to get better and the best thing for her to eat was something fresh like the fruit that she was slowly working on. At least she didn't appear, as of yet, that she was going to be ill which was a bonus he thought to himself. He finished off a couple more of them himself, tossing the parts that weren't fit for eating over the side of the branch. They would land on the forest floor and any fallen seeds would have a chance at becoming trees so not a waste per say of the pieces that weren't exactly edible.

After a time it would appear as though Keilana was ready to go, pushing up to her feet, looking as though she were working on steadying herself, before she asked him to help her down, "Of course." He murmured, pushing up to his feet. He gathered all of the remaining fruit and tucked it away, scooped up his pack, fetched her hammer for her, then held out a hand to her, "Hold onto my hand and we will make our way from here toward the Tale." Best that they stayed in the trees to avoid anything dangerous that might be skulking around on the ground for now if you asked him. He would be there the whole way to keep her stable and to keep from falling out of the tree though, "This way." He said as he started to lead her along the more thick and stable branches.

Keilana took his hand with a slight bit of hesitation, after all it felt strange suddenly to have all these thoughts about going home when she really didn't want to. Could she just hide in the forest with Chal? Sure..she didn't know a single thing about him...but...that could change right? A sigh bubbled up from within, no her brother WOULD find her then probably cause problems for Chal...she didn't want that to happen to the shifter.

"Thanks...wait.." She paused a moment as she took a step forward and then realized...they were not going back to the forest floor. "I can't ..do that...I am not like you guys..I like the floor. Can't we go back to the floor?" She inquired wondering just how awkwardly slow this transition back would be if they went by tree top. Keilana had never considered herself afraid of heights before...but now it was becoming a serious possibility. Moving a bit closer to Chal unconsciously wanting to feel safer being that high up.

"I would..feel better being on the ground...please?"
