"Attack?" Conne asked, realizing he never did consider what landed the tauros in Dea's possession to begin with. The woman had stated the bull pokémon had been injured, but he hadn't actually considered what caused the damage, "Sounds like you've got quite the story of how your pokémon came to you, mind telling me?" He liked stories of experience, especially where the teen was ignorant! "Heh, probably not!" Connie agreed with a laugh, "Not unless you taught them how to use a weight scale, at least, and apply the numbers they get to the world around them."
Grayson felt his wife's hand reaching for his own and snatched it, giving a little squeeze, "I just wish they'd realize that there are people willing to help, too. It's disappointing." He sighed, but knew there was no use dwelling on something that couldn't be altered in someone else. Realizing the tangent Dea seemed to be getting on, Grayson snickered, wondering if he was going to need to step in to put forth the necessary questions they came down here to ask after all.
"Hmm, knowledgeable type, huh?" Connie mused with a smile, wondering how old this maractus really was. It was likely Calanthia was much older than the tall teenager before her! "Elaborate family you have there, it's not often I see one so close!" he noted; and it was true, from what he observed on the streets. The maractus' agreement of the tauros' statements knocked a light laugh out of the teen, and he nodded, relieved, "That's good to hear. Sometimes hope is what really gets a person through tough times, so it's good to know that she doesn't stray from that and has family to remind her should she start to forget." It must be nice, honestly, to have that sort of all-around support!
Arashi's grin could have easily been mistaken for a sneer, but it was apparent that it was in good-natured eagerness. Ah, so he had riled her up enough to have made her forget something, that was interesting! Maybe this was going to be fun after all. "Not cops, huh? So you want to be the robbers, too? Heh, we can pretend the humans are the cops, if you want," he remarked, a thumb thrust in the conversing group's direction for indication. It was how he was 'playing the game' before anyway, so there wouldn't be much of a difference, he'd just have to pretend that the others were... teammates. Huh, that would be an interesting experience. They sure weren't his usual gang!
Karma continued to fidget, unsure of what to do. It seemed the tension had died down finally, and that was good! But now, Karma wasn't sure how to play very many games, and didn't want to look foolish for playing it wrong... Ugh, appearances were so difficult to keep up, and social interaction was so complicated! Zhe scooted closer to Lucy's side, feeling safer with a friend the ditto knew zhe could trust.
Well Connie felt that one, and flinched slightly. He knew Fluff was only stating what he knew in his heart, and that he wasn't aware of who might be listening, but... well, all things considered, Connie agreed. "That's what family is for, to make you feel loved, to show you that you do have a place in this world with people that care for you. Friends can be just as supportive, but it's like they say... you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family," he nodded with a smile, almost hesitating to add, "And... yeah, it can get pretty lonely at times if one of those is missing from your life."

"It is not a very long story and probably a good thing, I feel Papa looking at me and I think it is because I got off topic. Terrwyn was busy eating some grass, when a group of teenage boys were using the area for their own 'territory'. When they saw her eating, they proceeded to attack her for being in what they deemed their area. Luckily, I happened by with my father and we scared off the boys and took Terrwyn in. We took care of her and that's how she became one of my own Pokemon,"Dea explained.
"It is just one of those things, pride blinds people to what is aroun them. I wish it didn't, but some people feel they do not need help,"Mrs. Willows spoke.
'Well, when you are with a family for a long time, you learn a lot about every member. I have been with Serenity since...gee, it has been quite awhile since I first met my trainer. And yes, we are pretty big and still quite close or at least we try to be. Dea has quite a loving family to remind her that there is always hope and not to give up, even when things are tough,'Callie replied.
Lucy looked over to Karma, seeing him scoot closer to her and she gave him a reassuring smile. She knew this all must be a lot for him to handle in one shot, but she would help him through it as best as she could.
"It will be alright, Karma, I will help you as best as I can. And it is up to you what you want us to be, it is your game, "Lucy told both boys.
"Oh, you do not have a family? Dea says friends can be like family too. They are family you can choose. Do you have friends?"Fluffernutter asked curiously.

Grayson snickered at Dea's perception of what he had just been contemplating, noting that she knew him all too well. Connie was more concerned that he may have inadvertently veered the conversation too far off-topic; it hadn't been his intention to keep them longer than they had wanted! "Some people can be needlessly cruel," the teenaged tauros agreed with a disapproving shake of his head, "Terrwyn was lucky!" Offering an apologetic smile, he urged Dea to continue, so as not to get her into any further 'trouble,' "Anyway, was there something you had wanted to ask me?"
With an agreeable nod, Grayson added to the conversation with a much less eloquent comment, "Kids..."
Listening to Calanthia's description of the closeness of her family, Connie could easily imagine how things could work when all members of the family worked toward understanding instead of merely doing their own thing. While he had not been a part of the family structure from his previous home to such a degree, he could still recognize it as well, at least with the humans. "Well you spend that much time with someone, you're bound to find out a lot about them!" he laughed, "But it isn't as common as it should be that family can stick together so tightly and support one another like that, either. It's really nice to see, especially considering how large your family has seemed to have gotten!" While he wouldn't rule out that arguments still occurred in Callie's home, he figured they must also be short-lived if they did. Maybe it was because everyone seemed remarkably understanding. "That's the sort of support that gets a person through the worst parts of life. Never let go of that," he insisted with a smile.
Spotting Lucy's smile, Karma offered an uneasy one in response. Regardless of the courage that the ditto was or wasn't exhibiting, that one simple action was enough to convey that things would be just fine. Stop worrying so much, scaredy-cat! the pink-marked child scolded zhimself silently, attempting to take zher friend's lead. Standing straight again, the nervous child busied zher hands by resituating the notebook under an arm and feigning a more perky smile, "And I'll help you, too!"
Arashi shrugged, "You're just suppose to play the part you want to play, that's all. If you don't want to, just say so." Obviously, the eevee was not one to 'play with others' very often, and his rustiness at being amiably social was blatantly clear. He didn't like idle chatter as it was, and it's continuous appearance this afternoon was rubbing him wrong. He'd rather take action, not talk about others' feelings.
Connie was surprised that Fluffernutter seemed so perceptive, but on second assessment, the sentret-child also seemed rather empathic, at least to a degree; very sensitive to that which was around him. "Well, I did, but..." he began before letting it drop, unsure of how to continue that sentence. "You're right, friends can be just as close, and sometimes even closer, than a person's family. It makes for a good substitute!" the teen agreed, "And I'm sure I can rely on them when I need to as well." He grinned, but truth be told, he was still pretty new around the city...

Dea nodded her head, yes, some people did not really know how to be kind. She just hoped those boys learned down the line, if they haven't already, to treat others how they would like to be treated.
"Well, I just hope the boys do not have to learn the hard way how to treat other people and Pokemon. Also, I believe I am just as lucky to know Terrwyn as she is to know us. Oh but yes, we came here wanting to learn more about you and the change you went through. You see, my father is intrigued with these changes people are going through. We have a theory that maybe it is being wished for by those that have been changed,"Dea spoke. Dea saw her mother take ahold of her father's arm and squeeze it.
'Yes, I have found that to be very true, I watched Serenity grow up and all of her children, so I know this...my family very well. I love them all very much. I am afraid you are right, though, not a lot of families communicate much anymore, I find it very sad. I cannot imagine my life without my family, they are there for everything. Do not worry, I don't foresee any of us letting go of that,'Callie smiled back.
Lucy saw the Eevee was not used to socializing by the way he seemed to be getting upset. She sighed softly and looked at Karma, trying to decide what role would be best for them.
"Karma and I will play the cops, just so you have someone on the opposite side to chase you. Do be warned, I am pretty quick,"Lucy smiled.
"You don't have friends anymore? Well, you can make new friends. I did, I made friends with my family. I am sure my family can be your friends. They are good at that,"Fluffernutter suggested.

Connie snickered at Dea's hopefulness on the boys' ability to learn an easier way, but he knew that sometimes things just needed to work out that way. "If they're stubborn enough, they might need the extra incentive 'learning the hard way' might bring, unfortunately," he offered, knowing he was a prime example of that sort of behavior, at times. He perked at Dea's posed query, but had a bit of difficulty thinking on the matter. In fact, he opted to hear a bit of elaboration on the matter, not because he didn't understand but because he wasn't sure what would have constituted as a 'wish.' "I'm... not really sure if it could be considered that..." he speculated some, "It's an interesting idea. Did everyone else wish something that caused them to turn in this manner?"
It didn't take Grayson long to pipe up with what little he knew. "Any wish Karma would have made could have easily been manipulated in such a manner. The kid wants to be normal, wants to help... but didn't necessarily want to be human," the scientist noted, "I honestly didn't think it could happen with a ditto, since they can change shape at will anyway." Strange thought, strange circumstances.
Connie grinned at Calanthia's heartfelt sincerity on her views of her family, "That's really very sweet. You've probably seen a lot because of that, and are able to help and guide that much better." He was almost tempted to ask just how old the maractus was, but decided that would probably be rude, curious or not. "I guess all families work in different ways, though not all of them are run the best. I think you've got it down, though!" the teen affirmed.
Karma glanced to Lucy when she turned back to the ditto, worried that zher friend was getting irritated with the situation as well. Eyebrows knit, the pink-marked child stood straighter, as though to say that zhe was ready to take on anything. Courage, Karma could learn to use that! "Cops? Am I going to be the sidekick?" zhe asked curiously. Toying with the idea, the ditto held up a hand and attempted to hold it in the shape of a handgun, wiggling the trigger finger a bit, "Pew pew!"
Arashi's expression was more quizzical, almost disbelieving. He was almost sure the two of them were going to give up or something... he wasn't sure if he wanted to be grateful or disappointed, since that meant he had to stick around. Eh, at least the blathering would stop, and maybe the tension would die off as well. That is, if he didn't get carried away, like usual... With a smirk he barked, "That works for me, if you want! Gotta make this more realistic... what would I be running from..?" He thought a moment before it clicked and, before Karma had time to react, Arashi had swiped the ditto's notebook from zher hands, displaying it in indication as he stepped back behind the counter, "I stole something of high value, and you need to get it back!" Cackling, he sprinted down the alley.
"H-Hey, don't--!" Karma called, rocking back and whimpering, "...don't damage it!" Fidgeting the shoulder bag around to the back, the ditto-child hoisted up the false gun at the ready.
Connie shook his head in reply to Fluff, "No, it's the family. I'm sort of... estranged from them, I suppose." It was for the better, though, and the teen knew it; some problems couldn't be solved by sticking around. "But it's okay, I've managed to do just fine on my own so far. It can just be a problem starting out, that's all," he quickly added, "I think I would like to be able to be your friend, all of you. You're all really quite kind, and it's really appreciated!"

"I suppose you are right, some people can benefit with learning things the hard way. I wish it were not the case, but hopefully however those guys learn, they actually learn their lesson. Now to answer your question, I believe how my dad put it is pretty accurate for some of my Pokemon as well. Eilam wanted a way to help me because in his Pokemon form, he could not push me around if something happened. For Lucy, it was more an accident because someone hit her in the head with one of those stars. Though, she did admit to me she also had been hoping to help the Suicune and me. Fluff, I think it was the fact that he wanted to do more with his previous trainer,"Dea replied.
'Yes, I have seen a lot of things since I became part of this family. You see, Serena had been about five when she had found little me in her garden, trying to get some food to eat. Serena's family took me in and I have been with her ever since. I was there when Serenity got more Pokemon, married Grayson, had children of her own, and her children got their very own Pokemon,'Callie acknowledged.
Lucy couldn't hide the smile that appeared on her face when she saw Karma get out an imaginary gun. She had to admit, he looked kind of cute doing that and she thought of how to answer his question, when the Eevee took her friend's notebook.
"Don't worry, Karma, I will help you get it back. I know how important that is to you. Let's go get it and make sure justice is served,"Lucy spoke, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. She knew she needed to help him, that notebook contained all the people he had met since his transformation. She motioned for him to follow her, as she started to run after Arashi.
"I am sorry about you being apart from your family. At least you can make a new family, like I did. I know Dea and the others would be glad to be your friend. I would like it too. One can never have too many friends,"Fluffernutter replied.

"One can only hope, for people like that," Connie snickered, though he was also imbued with a teenager's mind and could relate to both sides of the specified situation. He considered the idea of a wish being granted to help someone out better, but when the correlation attempted the link, it only managed to make the past feel more disappointing. If he had originally wished to help out the ranchers where he grew up, it sure backfired to the extreme... Scratching behind an ear, the teen made a bit of a face, "Do you think, if that were the case, that the one responsible for the stars showing up would know whether it would be beneficial or not? Especially considering that not every pokémon seems to have this sort of thing happen..."
Grayson watched the interaction for a few moments, amused at the sudden turnaround of the direction the chatter took. Noting how long the group had probably been out, though, he glanced over to Eilam and motioned him to come nearer so that he could say something. "Hey, could I ask you to keep a close eye on Dea?" he whispered to the arceus, "With how long you've been looking out for her, you'd probably be able to tell if she starts going downhill before anyone else notices. Just let me know when you see that happen, and I can wrap things up here quick enough." Concern was evident, but he was trying to keep it under wraps for now.
Connie grinned as the small maractus called Dea's mother by a pet name, recalling fond memories of years past; it was actually pretty adorable. "I hope they call on you for your experience on family matters, in that case, since you've been around a lot longer than I would have expected," the teen commented. He hadn't even been aware how long maractus were capable of living, but it seemed like quite a while! Yep, definitely older than I am! he mentally confirmed, noting that he shouldn't take the spiny plant-type lightly.
Karma was still nervous of the prospect, but attempted to keep a level head despite the distress. It was just a game, a game... The worry was still evident in the ditto's eyes as zhe turned to the hybrid, "You don't think he'd mess it up, do you?" Those pages were important! However, the child shook zher head, as though to say 'never mind.' "Thank you," the words came instead after Lucy's comfort, and again the ditto was back into the proper role. As the lunatone-hybrid took off after the perpetrator, Karma followed suit at a slower pace, holding up an invisible radio, "Requesting backup, the suspect is on the move!"
While Arashi might have prided himself on his speed, the sound of Lucy's quickened footsteps behind him alerted him to the challenge this exchange was going to be. He almost hazarded a curious glance back, but knew that would only slow him down -- something that could end the 'game' much too premature. The eevee couldn't tell who was the faster of the two of them, but maybe he could extend the advantage out with his knowledge of the layout of these back alleys. Long ears remained tuned on the sound his pursuers' generated as he turned a corner, ducking around a dumpster removed a couple of feet from the brick wall behind it. His plan was to take the quick turn to throw the both of them off from the direction he was headed, but could work as a hiding place as easily.
"It's nothing to worry about, I seem to be pretty good with going with the flow of things. I'll manage. You know what they say, you can choose your friends but not your family. In some cases, you can manipulate that little saying... Maybe say that if the hand you're initially dealt when you start off in the world isn't the right one, you can fix it, in a way," Connie attempted to explain, but had a feeling it wasn't the best phrasing he could have used to get his point across. There was no way that sticking with his original 'family' would have been a good idea, but that didn't mean he was destined to be alone for the rest of his life, for friends did exist in culture, and to a great extent. However, considering Fluffernutter's history, it seemed the child would be able to grasp what he meant with little effort! "Friends can be just as good, sometimes better, than family anyway," the tauros laughed.

Dea looked thoughtful at the question posed to her and wondered if Jirachi had some way of knowing who might benefit from the change.
"Well, I suppose it is possible that he might have known who might actually need to be changed. Like you said, not all Pokemon have been changed, just certain ones have gone through this transformation. So it is possible Jirachi picked out those who not just wished for it, but that might need the change. Maybe those who needed a fresh start at life or just someone who would be a good member of human society,"Dea answered.
Eilam walked over to Grayson when he motioned for him and when he heard the question, he nodded his head. He was one of those who knew Dea very well, so even when she tried to hide something, he was pretty quick at spotting it, if he was paying attention.
"Yeah, I will keep an eye on her and make sure she isn't overexerting herself. She is a stubborn one, but if I see her starting to get tired or something, I will let you know. For now, she seems to be doing quite well,"Eilam replied.
'No worries, they usually come to me if they need my advise on something, especially when it comes to Serena. It is kind of like when anyone wants information on Deanna, they usually go to Eilam, Lucy, or Lightning. We are a family that the Pokemon sometimes know their trainers better than just about anyone. And yes, I suppose I am older than I look,'Callie laughed.
Lucy could see the worry in her friend's eyes and she just hoped zhe knew she would do anything she could to help. She ran as fast as she could, keeping her eyes on Arashi as he was ahead of them. She followed him around a corner, then looked around to see where he might hide.
"I suggest if you are behind that trash can, you come out with her hands up. You can toss that notebook in this direction, my partner needs it back,"Lucy explained, using her best impression of a cop.
"You chose a new path when life throws you a curveball. I thought I knew my path when I was first changed. Then I was tossed on a new path. I fought it at first. Then I embraced it. I am glad I did. Yes, friends are very good. Sometimes they can be like family,"Fluffernutter smiled.

Connie thought over his own posed question more thoroughly as well, thinking it may be strange if such a thing proved to be true. If it had, then there were a few holes in the theory. "It would probably make more sense if Jirachi were a psychic type or something. It's possible that all it is is coincidence, or a test," he mused, as though it were an afterthought. Taking into consideration the fact that he was currently talking to a handful of science-oriented individuals, he snickered as another idea popped into his head, "Wouldn't it be something if this were all a theory as well, and the ones that were transformed are the test subjects? Or maybe it's Jirachi's wish that this happen... There are a lot of possibilities." He was getting slightly off-track, though, and realized this after the words concluded. Shaking his head, he offered, "I don't think I would have made a wish that would have given me this form, though, no. I thought things were decent enough when I was a full-fledged pokémon, and while things are different now, they're still decent in their own way." Despite the statement, the teen was curious if there was something he was missing, if there was something more subconscious he was not aware of. He didn't think there was, but did anyone ever fully understand themselves?
Grayson was fully aware of the bond Eilam and Dea shared, always being there for one another since Dea was but a baby. Being inseparable was comparable to an almost psychic bond, at times, much like twins or stair-steppers might develop. "Yeah, she's always been that way, hasn't she?" Dr. Willows chuckled, but nodded in reply to the adult arceus' acceptance, "Thank you. The more eyes watching out for her well-being, the better." It was better to set up the vigilance in advance, but he was happy to note that she was still doing well.
With the way Calanthia spoke of the family on the whole as she did, Connie had nearly forgotten that the title of being her true trainer lied in the hands of a single individual. "Good point there; out of everyone in the family, you'd probably know Serena best, wouldn't you?" he pondered the thought. A snicker emerged after a moment, "Sometimes the pokémon have been a part of a person's life longer than their immediate family, I hadn't considered that." He hadn't run into pokémon that had been with a human for such a stretch of time before!
Arashi smirked as he realized that Lucy was not going to fall for his little trap, but neither was she going to make him to come out. He peeked out from the side a little, noting that she was still preferring to play along instead of using any sort of force. It meant she wasn't angry, right? Well, that meant that Arashi didn't have to be too brash and spontaneous about it. It was kind of nice, not to have to take something like this seriously for once... So he could play nice, if things stayed like this. With a cackle, the eevee-boy flicked a tail and spun around, "You won't catch me alive!" Sure, he'd gladly give it back.... later; he didn't want it to be over so quickly!
Karma made it around the corner just behind Lucy, placing the imaginary radio at zher waist and hoisting back up the literal hand-gun. "They are working on a blockade, but I don't think they will make it on time; we're on our own!" the ditto grumbled. Jumping slightly when Arashi took off again, Karma nudged forth with zher head and proceeded along, "We've got ourselves a runner!" The child had to admit, this was actually pretty fun, at least when one pushed past the nervousness.
"Sometimes you just have to roll with it, when changes occur along the way. Other things are best fought for, but I think you ultimately chose the better path to take," Connie agreed, "In some instances, going along with what life throws at you can be just as difficult, if not more so, as fighting back. So kudos to you!" It was mainly a hard decision when it came to the mental capacities of acceptance, and the teen knew that that was not always a facet that others considered when making decisions that altered someone's way of life. Nodding, the tauros added, "And sometimes family can be your friends as well!"

"Eilam had been sure he would not wish for something like this to happen to him either, but he couldn't deny he wanted to help me. It could be that Jirachi has some kind of experiment going or is doing this for his own personal gain, but I just think there is more to it. Had you ever had some kind of wish for something, Connie?"Dea asked.
"Yes, I believe she has learned a little too well from her parents, if you ask me. And of course, she is family to me, Grayson, I will always look out for you. You should know that by now,"Eilam spoke. He looked over to Dea and made sure she was doing alright, then turned back to Grayson.
'Yes, you could say I know Serena very well, almost like she were an open book to me. I know it might be kind of unusual to be with a family so long, but for us, it is second nature. These people are our family, we wouldn't want it any other way,'Callie explained.
Lucy smiled, she was really having a blast playing with Karma and Arashi, it was really a fun game. She turned to Karma, trying her best to sigh when he said that they were on their own.
"I suppose I should have figured back-up wouldn't be able to get here in time. Alright, well, let's go after him and get him ourselves. And we will catch you,"Lucy spoke, saying the last part out loud for Arashi. Then she picked up her speed and dashed after Arashi in her pursuit of him.
"Yes, family can be friends too. I am glad I chose the path I did. I love Mommy and my family. They are very special to me. I always want the best for them,"Fluffernutter explained.

"Help you out, huh?" Connie considered, thinking a moment before tilting his head slightly, "No... I helped out even when I was a pokémon. They thought it was funny, so I kind of just kept doing it instead of wishing I could do more for them. They didn't really seem like they needed the... extra hands, not like you probably needed." Dea seemed to be an abnormal case, so the teen could easily see how one under her care would wish for the ability to help out where they were currently incapable of. He agreed that the jirachi probably had more on its mind than merely experimenting with the pokémon populace, but for what it was worth, he knew that such power could likely go to one's head if left unchecked. But what sort of wish could he have possibly made to alter his direction in life to such a degree? "I... don't think so. Nothing was really all that different for me at home. I had to change my lifestyle completely when I changed, and I don't think that would have been something I would have wished for. Hum... maybe... maybe I wished for something more out of my life? I don't recall ever wishing for that, though..." he toyed with the idea. It seemed like so long ago, even if it was likely only about a year or two worth of time since his change. Maybe restlessness had gotten a hold of him briefly, at some point, but he couldn't be sure.
Grayson flashed Eilam a wry smile, stiffly waving an index finger at the arceus in mock discipline. There was a pause... but then he just shook his head with an amused snort, conceding, "Well when you're right you're right. I can safely say that stubbornness is a dominant family trait." But enough of the joking, "It's just more of an assurance to know that more people are looking out for her at any given time. We don't want a relapse; she's at a very delicate point in time right now, and I don't want all this activity causing a flare." The man seemed to be thinking on it a moment, frown deepening before any opinion was spoken, "We should probably get out of here soon anyway, just to be on the safe side." He didn't want them to press their luck, there was always tomorrow!
"I understand that, and I completely agree with you," Connie quickly assented, "With a family you're born into like that, so to speak, it's like you're reacting to them as though they were siblings. I can actually understand that, though it had been the other way around for me. Maybe it's just... I don't know, but hey, you look good for your age!" He grinned at that; he was being serious! Connie never would have guessed that Calanthia was so many times his senior!
Karma briefly flinched when Lucy let out with a sigh, so caught up in the act that zhe had forgotten to make sure if the hybrid girl was managing to have some fun as well. It was short-lived nervousness, however, and an excited smile was once more aglow on the ditto's face when zhe realized Lucy was only playing the part as well. "We can do it. Maybe we'll even get ourselves that promotion we've been after if we nab this guy," Karma attempted to growl despite the smile warping the impact of the words. The child motioned to reload an invisible gun, switching it up to act as though concentration was aimed forward through a stealth scope. "Too dangerous to take a shot, he's too fast. We'll have to try to cut him off or something," Karma grumbled, holstering the gun and charging, "I think there's an intersection up ahead!" Truth be told, Karma didn't know the layout of the streets at all, and was only taking a guess. It would be very easy for the vibrant kid to get lost, if left to it...
"Good luck!" Arashi barked back, a quick wave of the hand in partial taunt to Lucinda's threat as his swift steps declined an ease in determination. He'd have to slow down eventually for them, most likely, but not right now. He skid slightly, bare and calloused feet taking the brunt of the impact on the asphalt, and hung a sharp right down the back of the alley. He'd have to watch his step back here, where litter seemed most prominent, but that was something he was well-versed in.
"Mommy?" Connie repeated, confused for a moment before it dawned on him. That knocked a smile out of him! "I'm glad you were able to readjust your living style and come to care about them just as much as you did with your first home. You know, I think that takes a lot of effort and willpower. Pair that with your generosity and devotion, I think you're a pretty strong guy," he commented. He didn't see it happen all that often out here, so it was definitely a nice change of pace.

"Yeah, come to think of it, the day we found that star, it was the same day he was worried about me feeling under the weather. I thought I had a cold or something, so I had pushed it aside as nothing and continued to help people. Even though he had always been a help to me, maybe he had wished to be even more help with me being sick. As for your own case, maybe Jirachi had caught you on a day where you were hoping for something more. I wish I knew, but some things about that Pokemon are a mystery to me,"Dea admitted. She was starting to feel a little tired, but trying to not show it at all, knowing her family would worry.
"Trust me, I know all too well how stubborn your family is and I think you passed it on to us, your Pokemon. And do not worry, I know how much we need to watch over her. I do not want her to relapse either, I never like seeing her so sick. And yes, might be about time for us to wrap this up, she is starting to get tired, though she is hiding it,"Eilam explained.
'Yes, Serenity is like a sister to me and I know Dea's Pokemon think of her like a mother. Even if Eilam is quite a bit older than she is. And thank you, I am glad someone realizes I look pretty good for my age. I just love people assuming I am younger than they are,'Callie laughed.
Lucy pulled her imaginary gun and made to re-load it, before she motioned for Karma to follow her as she dashed after Arashi.
"Yes, it is about time we got that promotion. I think catching this suspect will totally help us finally nab it. This suspect is quick though, so we are going to have to really use our training to capture him. And don't worry, we will get you,"Lucy said with determination. She looked over to Karma, making sure he was alright, she didn't need her friend to be hurt if he tripped on something.
"Yes, Dea is my mommy and trainer. It took time to get used to it. But Mommy was very patient with me. They all were. I just hope they know how much I love them. And thank you. I never thought about it like that before,"Fluffernutter admitted.

It was easy enough to tell how tight-knit Dea's family was, all banding together to help out the woman with misfortune that plagued her health. It seemed unlikely that such a small occurrence as the one that Dea was recollecting would leave such a live-altering impact, considering Connie didn't think a cold was all that life-threatening... but then, there were likely a number of other factors in play. The teen didn't really know precisely what it was that Dea was afflicted with, and wasn't about to as -- that was personal! -- so a cold might have been more hazardous to her, for all the tauros knew. "If that's the case, with something as common as that... what if the jirachi was merely in the area at the time and saw Eilam's concern?" he offered the idea, thinking aloud as he went, "For all we know, that may have been all the trigger it needed. It makes me wonder if a pokémon even really needs to wish." That could also be why Connie didn't remember ever specifically wishing for anything, despite having the same outcomes; he didn't feel like his cause was any better, or really existent., in comparison. He noted that Dea seemed to be feeling a little fatigued, and pulled out a water bottle from under the makeshift counter, "Need this? I haven't opened it, and you're looking a bit tired." Even if leaving would have been the only thing to really help the woman feel better, maybe he could help a little bit in the meantime.
Grayson chuckled at Eilam's stab at a joke, but in all honesty he wouldn't have been surprised if the statement proved true. One had to be rather stubborn themselves if they were aiming to get anywhere while trying to convince another stubborn being of what was ultimately best. Dea was prone to pushing her limits a little too much, and as much as she wanted to be helpful, if it proved to be more than her body could keep up with it was bound to do just the opposite! "Well it's probably a good thing that some of that stubborn determination rubbed off on you, or Dea might be in worse condition. You guys really are her guardian angels," he stated with a nod. Upon noting the same thing that Eilam had pointed out about his daughter, he reached over and placed a hand on her shoulder, "I think it's about time we wrap this up and head home. As much of a pleasure as it has been, it's getting pretty late." He was trying to act casual about it, even flashed a smile, but he was concerned.
"Ahh, so you're more like an aunt to Dea's pokémon than a cousin, in that case?" Connie grinned. It seemed some pokémon liked to relate themselves to their human trainers in such a manner, and while Connie thought it was a little strange, he also considered it pretty endearing to be able to liken oneself so closely! He snickered at her enthusiasm, "Well I would never have guessed it myself! I'm sure others merely assume that you're so young and don't think otherwise. I'd imagine that tends to make things easier for you more often than not. Does it?"
Karma's steps were slowed a bit at Lucy's actions, deciding that it was likely a much smarter decision to follow the girl than take the lead in parts that were so unfamiliar. It was rare that Karma found zhimself out beyond the laboratory walls at all, rarer still to remember having done so. Zhe flashed a bright smile at Lucy's positive comeback to the imaginary promotion, "It'd better work! We've been in the biz longer than the ones that have been getting the promotions lately." The flexing of these imagination muscles was really a lot of fun! Karma balled a hand into a fist and struck the air above zher with encouragement, "I'll do my best! Just tell me what to do!" Doing best not to get lost seemed priority, after all, and the ditto's face altered into a frown of concentration as Arashi bolted down the unfamiliar back alley.
Arashi merely snorted in response to the play-threats, fairly certain that he'd be able to outrun them as long as he wanted to. The trick, however, was only to lead them so far as he wouldn't be caught by the actual authorities. By the time his only route would be out in the open, he would need to surrender in this little game. He knew this area like the back of his hand, though, so he could extend that time out, likely however long he wished. With a quick glance back, he noted how far back the two of them were in their progression towards him. He didn't actually know how quick they were on their feet and, despite the mental boasting of his own capabilities, he wasn't about to assume that they couldn't catch up.
Connie nodded as Fluffernutter explained his situation. Even though the teenager hadn't been through what the sentret had, his frame of mind paired with the scenario made sense, and it was interesting to get an alternate point of view on the matter. "How long have you been with them? How long did it take you to warm up? I think it's pretty amazing; even though it might have seemed a while to us, maybe it wasn't all that long of a time. If you think of it that way, you really are a very strong individual," he said with a decisive nod, "Have you told them that you love and appreciate them? Well... even if you didn't say so, I think they would know. Some people aren't very good at showing it, but the way they act around those they care for sometimes says a whole lot more than words ever could."

"Hmm, now that you mention it, it is always possible. Maybe the Jirachi knew his worry at the time and wanted to help. Maybe he had caught you at the right moment of wishing something yourself. I suppose all we can do is speculate for now. Oh and thank you, the water is very much appreciated. If it makes you feel better, Papa, we can leave,"Dea replied. She looked to her father and could see the worry in his eyes. He may be able to hide it from most people, but she knew him too well.
"I can go collect the others and get them ready to leave, Dea. Just drink the water and let me handle getting them,"Eilam spoke with a smile, patting her shoulder. He started to head off to get Lucy and Karma, knowing they were the furthest from the group.
'I think that would be accurate, they are like nieces and nephews to me. And I suppose it does make it easier, since people do not bother me for answers...well,except my family..but they are worth it,'Callie smiled. She walked over to Serenity as the woman got ready to leave as well.
Lucy put a thoughtful look on her face, as if she was trying to decide what to do as she continued the pursuit.
"We need to stick together, in case the suspect is armed. If he starts shooting, we need to find cover behind the nearest thing. Be on your toes, no telling what he might throw at us. Plus, I think he knows the area better than we do,"Lucy spoke.
"It took about a week. Spent the beginning in my room. Didn't want to come out at all. Then I decided to give them a chance. Glad that I did. I have been with them..hmm..not sure. Feels like a long time. Yes, I have told them I love them. They tell me a lot too,"Fluffernutter responded.

Connie thought on the ideas that Dea spoke of, but a skeptical, mild frown crossed his face before he spoke another thought, "Is... jirachi a psychic type?" If there was a time that Connie had felt he wanted to be something more than he used to be, it certainly wouldn't have been anything he would have said aloud, or tried to let on to at all. With the way Eilam had been acting throughout the conversation, he doubted the arceus would have been any different. So if the jirachi knew of something deep down that they wanted, how did it come to possess such knowledge? Or was it merely an emotion it was projecting onto others instead? Regardless of the outcome, his baffled expression was soon replaced with the return visit of his smile as Dea took the bottled water with gratitude, "It's not a problem, especially if it helps out any; you are very welcome!"
Grayson snickered at Dea's reaction, shaking his head lightly, "Well I don't want to interrupt. Just finish with the current thought and we can head off. We can always come back later if we need. Er... if we're not intruding at the time, at least." Blinking, Connie indicated the current amount of customers he'd had during this whole encounter, as though pointing out that this was his 'usual rush;' there was no problem whatsoever. That was a relief, and made it easier to leave without gathering all the answers if they needed to! However, it had seemed as though, despite Connie's insistence that he didn't know much more than they did, they still managed to gather quite a lot of useful data. There was a lot to think about, and a lot to process... Grayson would likely be fairly busy for the remainder of the evening. At Eilam's offer, the scientist had a momentary lapse of confusion before he glanced over to where Lucy and Karma had previously been occupying space... only to discover they were no longer present. He turned back to the arceus as he moved to temporarily leave, "Where did they run off to? It's too dangerous out there for them to be running amok on their own!" He hadn't even realized they had done so!
Connie grinned at Callie's response, feeling that her family ties were the sort of 'warm and cozy' ones that many an individual sought for in their lives. "Though I'm sure it's also pretty flattering to have them come to you to solve their problems as well, if they knew!" he snickered, waving to the maractus, "Well it was a delight to speak with you, Callie!"
While Karma's main instinct would likely have been to split up and attempt to corner Arashi by coming in from two sides, zhe couldn't argue. After all, once everything was taken into account, Lucy's idea was probably the safest way to go about it, especially considering this was just a game! Zhe didn't want to get lost over something so trivial, even if zhe did get pretty wrapped up in the chase! With a decisive nod, Karma agreed, "Alright, I've got your back if you've got mine. Now let's snatch this guy!" There was a smirk that appeared then, before Karma turned to look for some cover as the both of them ran. There were plenty of stray trash bags, half-empty boxes, and garbage bins, but they were all pushed to the side. It might be easy to trip, if one wasn't careful!
With a cackle, Arashi spun himself around temporarily to toss a taunt over his shoulder, "You two are going to have to do better than that if you want to catch me!" While it was comforting to know that he was actually pretty fast, a skill he aimed to better, he didn't usually have the chance to test if it was working. He turned back around and continued his pace, ducking down another side-street with journal in-hand.
Connie was surprised it took so little time for the sentret to adjust, before remembering that the young tended to be much more resilient than their seniors. They had traveled less of a distance along the timeline, and therefore a week seemed much longer than it might to an adult -- even though Connie wasn't an adult yet, either. "Well I'm glad you took the opportunity. You had it rough and needed that week to straighten things out. I mean... you were basically grieving something you lost, and that takes time. Reaching out to others like that, though, is what really starts the healing process, and I'm happy to hear it worked for the better," he stated with a sincere, pointed nod.
