No. That was NOT helping Selene.

That was the opposite of helping and you knew it.

Stop. No. Put the flower bac- no keep them just- Rengath huffed and puffed as he tried to figure how to possibly come out of this intact.

Reality: He wasn't.

"Oh no. You don't get to play that card with me Selene. One card out of the deck- Here." Grabbing a small rose he shoved it at her. "There, take it. Now you can't say never and it means nothing; flowers are horrible things and why there is some exchange of them to signal affections is perverse and I am not fond of these things."

Selene's look was one that, for all intents and purposes, Rengath had probably never even seen before. Lips pursed, eyes twinkling with delight and mischief, Selene was the picture of deviant mischief. She was ready to walk off with the flowers meant for him, and have herself a lovely little talk with Cricket, when Rengath handed her a rose.

He handed her.

A rose.

Selene's ears went fuzzy, and she watched his lips move furiously without hearing what they were saying. She held the rose in her hand, and trembled, her entire facade crumbling into a mixture of embarrassment and remorse. Was this really happening? Did Cricket love Rengath.. only for Rengath to love..

..Selene?

Was that the music to Days of our Lives playing in the background?!

Selene, turning as red as an apple, backed away slowly and shook her head. No, she couldn't do this to Cricket. She was her friend! She.. she was.. was she watching? Selene's eyes started searching around her frantically for Cricket's ever present glare. When she saw no sign of it, she turned back to Rengath, refusing to look in his eyes.

"I.. ssssssssorry.. Rengie... I don't... feel..." She shoved the flowers in her face and hid them there so she could cry.

Ragnorak threw the sides wildly, hoping to attract some bird.

At least Rengath was apologetic about the entire situation. He would make Cricket a happy - well, okay, maybe not happy.. he would make Cricket a content - ehhh.... he would make Cricket smil- ... Selene couldn't actually picture any of these things. So she just gave up.

Rengath would be good for Cricket. That much was certain. But how was she going to convince him of that, when he was so obviously in love with her?

And was she still not listening to anything he was actually saying?

"Ahhh, yes Rengie, I understand perfectly!" No, no she wasn't. She got up on her tiptoes, and patted his cheek gently. "Don't you worry at all. Leave everything up to me."

She would make this right. Somehow.

Gnomes, a lot of them, luckily they were not elves, otherwises, bad thing might happen. AJ was greeted by a Professor once he entered the room, he eyed at the photo set-up and decided he won't give a go now. He took some times to screen through the room and noticed the Professor was pestering by some Corrividus. AJ was asked to catch them.

Well, on one side, as a good student, he should help a poor Professor. However, on another side, he enjoys watching people suffered. Struggling for a while, he decided to at least try. He took the beans and ran towards a birdy.

He held the beans within his hands and tried to call the Button quail down. Not spending quite an effort, the birdy flew down but he was falling asleep. Has it been suffered from insomnia? This birdy was much like the head, so AJ decided to do what he used to do to the head. He gently poked the birdy and said "Hey, little thing, meal time, wake up~" He tried to be amiable and gentle, as if waking his loved one.

Seeing the little birdy as another head, he wanted to share its cuteness with others. "It's very cute, isn't it?" Noticing a lady was standing right next to him, he asked that lady for opinion and smile.

"Ahhhhhhh.." Selene was in her own world, thinking about how lovely the scarelings of Rengath and Cricket would be, when the student spoke to her, asking her how cute it was. She, of course, seeing nothing but babies, nodded in vague agreement.

"So.. so very cute.."

She hugged the flowers to her and squealed quietly to herself.

The sound of her actual name made Selene stutter with surprise. She blinked out of the haze of daydreaming and turned, her face half-buried in the bouquet of flowers, to look at the horsewoman. The beautiful horsewoman who'd called her lovely.

Selene twittered in response, and held her hand up. She couldn't form the words to admit it was her just yet, so she just held her hand up as if she was in class and her name had just been called for attendance.

Those black eyes half hidden behind the flowers grew round, and shimmery, when the woman spoke of a note. Who could it be from? Was there an emergency? Or was this..

Oh no..

She flickered her eyes warily at Rengath, and hoped for it to be anyone but him. Not Rengie, no, Rengie was for Cricket! What if this was a declaration of his love! Oh, the tragedy! Selene started crying right then and there just thinking about poor Cricket's little broken ghost heart.

And then it hit her.

"Ffff..orbidden foressssssssssssssssst..?" Oh no. Ohhhh no. Now she wished it was Rengie.

"Go ahead.." Her tiny, shaky whisper peeped out.
