Looking at his "project" that was handed to him, it seemed Otto's proposal was all but a waste of time, really. He'd been handed something else altogether. And to think he wasted all that energy worrying and.. ugh.. thinking.
His expression defaulted to that annoyed and grouchy emotion he wore so well, heaving a disgruntled sigh. Looks like more babysitting.
Otto hated babysitting.
A lot.
With a roll of his eyes, the teenager got up from his chair and left the room, grumbling something about preferring a few dozen mission reports over this.

Gale resisted the very strong urge to throw something sharp and heavy at Mark's head.
As it was, he chucked the folder over his shoulder and said, "Mark, I have a question regarding the horsemen, if you don't mind."
The unspoken "and if you do mind, I'll still ask anyway" dangled at the end of his sentence.

Jake currently had his forehead on the desk, much too tired and in pain to care how unprofessional and rude he looked, and only listened silently to Caelius' familiar rebuke. However, when he heard the death lead say something about "salvageable report" and "trainee", he froze.
Wait. Was... Caelius... complimenting him? Considering he was the only "trainee" here, and he was considering that he'd probably be speaking in present tense...
He kind of just... lay there, mind in a different place as Caelius continued belittling the other hunters, the fact that the Death lead had either ignored or hadn't heard his offer lost at the moment.
When the death assistant keeled over the table though, the thump managed to jolt Jake back to present reality, and he quickly sat up... and immediately regretted it as pain shot through his whole body.
He was... just going to stagger back to his room and keel over and die now too. Of happiness

"It depends," Mark replied, still rubbing his sore foot. "How much are you willing to pay for this information." He rubbed his index finger and thumb together to emphasize the point.

Gale just stared at Mark.
"How about I forgive the fact that you almost got me killed and we call it even," he said flatly, arms folded across his chest.

Mark whimpered a bit and then muttered something about blackmail, sliding under the table slightly so that only half the top of his head was visible. He murmured something about Gale still owing him new shoes and an army of trained killer dolphins. "Well... it depends what you're looking for..." He began, evasively.

Gale still hadn't moved from where he stood sorry Mark but you were stuck with him.
"Killer dolphins aside, I wanted to ask about their language, specifically."

"Uhhhhhhh..." Began Mark helpfully. He paused, suddenly rummaging through piles and piles of haphazard papers and miscellaneous power bar wrappers. "I think I have a compiled version on their language -" A pause. "Don't you have a working version in that thingy I gave you?"

Mark boggled. "Please tell me you actually know how to use my baby." The Death assistant was probably referring to the tablet he gave Gale. Probably. "The basic character alphabet is there but we were running some translation issue errors between casual and formal speak, as well as grammatical combinations of languages between the- the clans stuff." Mark shrugged. "Anyway, a rudimentary alphabet is the best we can do for basic translation, written, in terms of spoken you're on your own. Do I look like I'm like, made of time?" kurotomato As long as Gale has Mark's tablet he can translate rudimentary written horsemen text!
