Kleta waited patiently in a silver colored, traditional Spartan gown, as her mother called out names for couples. Kleta didn't question why Venus wanted her to dance with a mortal. Kleta never actually interacted with mortals in recent years, it seemed no one wanted fame anymore. She participated without question, she was just following Mothers' wishes, it always seemed the wise thing to do. Venus loved to dance and was good at it as well, but she wasn't sure how she would stack up in a competition with her cousins.
Her grey eyes were searching through the ranks of the male pae who had gathered. As her cousins started to gather with their respective partners, she hardly noticed the young female walking up to her, she was looking for a male name Pelagious. Until the female gave Kleta her hand, then Kleta had to look at her. On a first examination, she realized that the features to this females face and body sculpture were rather masculine, minus the rack that this pae possessed.
"You must be Pelagious?" Kleta questioned, doubting anyone would come to see her otherwise. She would laugh, Pelagious attire was bit much for her tastes. "You dressed beautifully tonight, do you know how to dance?" Kleta questioned, wondering if the male would lead her as tradition had it, judging by the look of the pae, it seemed he would want to be led around. Kleta took the initiative and led Pelagious to the dance floor, if he wanted to lead he could take over and she would give it to him.

Diona stood among the ladies, looking as glamorous as usual, if not more so due to the addition of a form-fitting and short red dress to her usual leather boots and gloves. She was really excited for the event, a chance for her to get out and pretend that she was not a mother or a wife. While it had been the erotes that had gotten her into this mess in the first place, she shot a glare at the god of weddings, Diona was certain that Venus was going to keep them in line this time and it would just be an all-around fun time, and most importantly dancing. Diona could have a nice evening and flirt with her dance partner and then never have to see him again or have any obligations to him, the idea was simply wonderful.
Eros, huh, Diona searched him out among the gods, thankful she wasn't dancing the one who quite possibly ruined her life. When she spotted the god, she strutted up to him, full of confidence, her hips swaying dramatically with every high-heeled step. "Hello Eros, my name is Diona, but you can call me Di if you'd like," she introduced herself. Diona was still a woman though, and she would wait for Eros to be the gentleman and ask her to dance.

Terje felt so very...alone without his more outgoing sister Zuine around. But he'd been invited to compete, and it had sounded like fun...he just wished Zuinnie was around to help him mingle. Oh jeez, they're calling partners now.
"Phaenna and Terje!"
Oh goodness. He'd been paired with a goddess. Well, technically they were all goddesses, but she....Phaenna is a vision in grey and green. She looks adventurous and serene and....wow. Terje blushes and clears his throat, realizing how long it's been since he's talked to an actual woman. Zuine certainly didn't count.
He bows stiffly to his partner, nervous and unsure of himself. "Y-you look lovely," he stammers.

Iordanes stands near his brothers and sisters, waiting for his name to be called. He'd been fonder of them recently, since he'd returned home after helping to raise his adopted daughter, and her adopted daughter. There were some among his family who were unhappy to be cast in this game for their mother's amusement, but Iordanes is always up for a bit of fun.
"Iordanes and Serendipity!"
He elbows Himeros and grins, nodding toward the lovely orange-and-brown Pae with translucent wings. "Can't do much better, eh?" he asks.
After all the names are called, he steps forward to meet with his new partner. "Good evening," he says to Serendipity with a bow. "It's an honor and a pleasure to be paired with such a beautiful woman. Shall we?" He takes Serendipity's hand and glides onto the dance floor.

Hymnaios is thrilled for yet another exciting Valentine's Day event! He can barely contain himself while couples are called, hopping back and forth from one foot to another, his wings twitching anxiously.
"Hymnaios and Trixie!"
Hooray! He dashes onto the dance floor to claim his partner and, in his excitement, trips. He pulls himself up by his wings before he completely hits the floor, giggling.
"Oh goodness," he says, righting himself and offering a hand to Trixie. "I hope that little blip doesn't worry you, darling," he says with a wide smile. "I'm certain I can dance circles around any of my brothers!"

Eros so wasn't doing this.
He couldn't believe the nerve of his mother. First she held contests to shame Psyche, and honestly, while Eros was upset at first, Psyche was still his wife. Whether she had or hadn't wasn't important. Was he really going to let one little circumstance get in the way of a life with her? That was what Eros had thought, at least, but Venus seemed to be on another planet when he announced that he wasn't really as certain as he had been about going along with her ... insanity.
No, instead, her response was whatever this was. Dancing and earn a free date with any of her sons? Really? And Psyche was judging, of course, probably to rub in the fact that Eros was busy finding other women.
Well, he wasn't.
Eros sat himself in a location that, while visible, obviously wasn't meant to be seen. The fact that this Diona--Di--chick approached him was most unfortunate, and he frowned very slightly, attempting to still seem like he had manners with something of a neutral expression on his face. "Eros," he replied, flatly. "Charmed."
No, he really wasn't.
Perhaps he could ... bomb this on purpose, though. Do so badly that there was no way in hell they could vote him to a date with some mystery woman. Yeah, that was how he'd do this. In a moment, a wicked grin was plastered on his face, Eros momentarily mimicking one certain brother of his--oh Himeros--before he grabbed Diona's hand without another word and all but dragged her ungracefully to the dance floor.
He'd apologize later ... maybe.

Prisma glided through the ball, spinning circles and twirls. She couldn't wait to try out her first dance, competition or not, she was here to have fun! Several giggles passed through her lips as she landed, searching for her dance partner, her wings fluttering behind her none the less. Pothos was it? That sounded like a handsome name as ever. Scanning the crowed, she picked out a pae matching the description she was given for Pothos and gleefully wandered over. "Oh yay, extremely! You are Pothos, are you not?!" she said and twirled again before holding out her hand for him to take. "I can not wait to start dancing!" she cooed in excitement.

Serendipity stood nervously in the crowds, twirling a strand of hair as she waited for the announcements. Her aunt Pastela had done a fantastic job in dressing her: the deep red sari she wore was decorated with gold-thread embroidery and her hair wad been braided and done up rather elaborately with a few strands dangling in order to show it's true length.
"Iordanes and Serendipity!" The announcement boomed loudly.
Serendipity gulped air nervously and held her chin high, her eyes scanning the others to see who was going to be her partner. A look of confusion came over her face when the beautiful purple female came forward and then bowed. However, the voice made it obvious that this was a man... and her partner.
"The pleasure is mine, Iordanes." She responded with a polite smile, her hand fitting well into his as she was led out to the dance floor. She was light on her feet, but she noticed that it was almost as if her partner floated through the air.

Shicala The male looked up from where he sat behind the crowd, he wasn't dressed up quite so fancy as the woman in fact all he had was bow tie and pink t-shirt for the occasion and that was about it. He had been playing with a stone he'd brought with him from the bottom of his little lagoon he had been thinking about the small treasure he'd turn it into when he went home. He didn't even know what he was being called for exactly. He thought he had put his name in a box for a prize, Ahi was completely addicted to treasure.
"What's a misterrrr?" he called back to her hearing his name, though he looked like an adult the firey Pae spoke in a childish manner. He crawled through the crowd, moving between the Pae that mingled or even between the legs of some. When he reached the edge of the crowd in front of Aglaia he stood up... When he stood up he bounced a bit on the balls of the feet he had, the change from fin to feet always made him a little giddy. "I is Ahi" he waves in the selfsame childish manner he always had((I don't know who's legs he crawled between but anyone is welcome to act on it XD ))

Pelagious blushed, her compliment making all his hard work worth the struggle. He thanked her for it too. Most enthusiastically. However, when she mentioned dancing, he paused. Eyeing the dance floor with something akin to horror, he shook his flower bejeweled head and blushed yet again.
"I'm afraid that all my pomp and circumstance are for nothing. I haven't the faintest clue how to dance. Unless you count some dance my dad taught that involves a chicken." he explained relunctantly.
"You wouldn't happen to have a chicken hiding somewhere on you, would you?" he joked. His confession made, it was up to her to lead the dance. Not because he was feminine in his looks and nature, but because he was completely clueless ad really didn't want to embarass them both.

Iris Topaz looked around the room she felt like this was going to be a bad idea. Yes she knew how to dance but she had no clue about the music and dance of today. she was dressed in a lavender Greek style dress one that she hoped who ever she got partnered with would like it. May be she would not get partnered with Erote or may be he would have forgotten to come. That might be to much to hope for. She stood there thinking to her self when she herd her name called.
"Dylo and Iris Topaz!" said Venus
"Huh. Oh that is me." she said as she looked up and quickly moved though the others to the blue Erote. She blushed as she put out her hand like she had seen people greet each other . "Hi I hope we have fun."

"That's a mister?" he questioned her as his hand was taken, he bounced a little more on the balls of his feet as she curtsied, it was one of those formalities he was completely unfamiliar with. When she pulled him towards the floor he skipped along behind her "What did I win? is it treasure? huh? huh? Gems? Gold?" he questions her with a excited tone in his voice, the male still thought he had won some kind of treasure. Ahi had plenty of ideas of what he could possibly have gotten from putting his name in at party, he just didn't know he had to dance to win it.

"Yes, that is a mister and my dear" Ag started as she smiled kindly at him "you haven't won anything yet lets put it this way, if you dance with me till the end I will give you something" she said, not one to part with her jewelry or gem stones but she didn't mind giving up one piece to the male "it doesn't matter how you dance" she said as she started swaying a little in time to the music "you just have to dance" she said as she swayed a bit more. "And at the end, regardless who wins, I will give you a beautiful ruby from my collection" she said, simply adoring her rubies just as much as any of her precious stones she had but if this was the only thing she could to get him to dance then parting with one of her rubies was a small price to pay.

Ahi looked a little dumbstruck for a moment but the whole idea of a ruby all for him was all the encouragement the male needed. "Ahi will dance! Ahi will get gem!". His dumbstruck expression went to one of pure joy and exceitement... The firey Pae all but ignored the beat of the waltz of the music playing overhead and started dancing to his own beat in his mind, swinging a hand over his head a moment then to his sides and bouncing moving his legs around and spinning little circles, eventually starting the pattern all over again(( Reference for those trying to picture exactly what he's doing from 37s seconds till about 1 minute 10 seconds ))
