As they did she too looked around memorizing the area, how many rights they took, how many lefts they took, and how many intersecting points they crossed. For not remembering the first part of her life her memory was sharp now. It was like it was making up for what it lost or at least what it was hiding. She couldn't say if she had always been good at memorizing things. Though, as she did this she thought to herself. We probably won't come back in this direction. It would be stupid to escape this way. No doubt they would have this area blocked off after they figured something is wrong or when we strike. No matter it doesn't hurt to memorize it all the same for future use if we ever need to come through the sewers again... though I really... really hope that is never the case. I can barely breathe as it is...Tae had taken to cover her nose to help block most of the smell at some points. Blinking she peered around Lloyd as he spotted the figures and told them to be on guard. As they got closer her eyes narrowed upon the two figures. They neither spoke right away nor did they seem hostile to the point of attacking them. As Lloyd spoke up she wanted to smack the back of his head. They didn't know if these two were suppose to be their allies and could have just as well been the enemy laying in wait. The two didn't make her feel any safer either by their looks and appearance. They even made it worse when the stared Ellale down even if their gazes were merely curious. She instinctively stepped in front of Ellale blocking most of their view of her. She didn't feel the need to introduce herself nor would she relax entirely. Instead she remained quiet as she glanced around the tunnel taking in the small details that she could make out. So they had to wait for the others to get here and she assumed that they had been the first to arrive. She didn't know if that was a good thing or if she should be slightly annoyed. Tae blinked at the direction of her thoughts. That wasn't normally her. She just need to relax a bit. Perhaps it was the stress of this mission that was getting to her head. Something was bugging her and she couldn't put a finger on it. How annoying. ღ OOC: ღ

Riyel "The Silent Flame" Vicaria Can't you see I'm easily bothered by persistence One step from lashing out at you You want in to get under my skin And call yourself a friend I've got more friends like you What do I do? Junction: Ifrit Level: 6 Health: 560/560 Location: Winhill Magic: Fire(3) & Ice(2) & Reflect Mood: Whatever. §▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲ {{Ooc:// }} {Current Theme Song: Dear God- Avenged Sevenfold}
The march had become droll. Monotonous. Tedious. No...it was just damn boring. Riyel drudged on, as they walked, his mind focusing on the environment, simply trying to keep whatever little focus he had reserved on something of some importance. Because if he kept thinking on what was coming, his thoughts, or even the revelations and surprises that had rose throughout the previous couple of days. His feet trod gently upon the wet path, carefully watching his step to avoid...fecal matter. The group was quiet, about as social as rocks. As soon as the three of them began their walk, it became instantly silent. At first, Riyel welcomed it. But now...well, if something happened it would be comforting as well as a bit of an ice breaker. The area itself smelled horribly, well at first it did anyway. Riyel's sense of smell seemed to become paralyzed. Kind of a comfort, but the initial contact with the stench was than appealing...rather, it was detestable. Other than the sound of running water or the dodging of scum that lay on the surface of...well, most of the general area...there didn't seem to be anything else in the sewer. Riyel could only look up though, watching Varitas and Nona. Honestly, Riyel still did not know what to think of the other male. The man's appearance and his mannerisms seemed just out of place, foreign if you will, to that of which Riyel had seen in well, most people...he was more ferile, perhaps....wild, or just simply different. Those seemed the best way to elaborate on the man overall. But it was likely that everything about Riyel, Nona, and the rest of the world was probably out of place to Varitas as well. His eyes stayed only on Varitas for a moment longer before pealing away back towards the ground. The path itself was continuing to wind in a long tiring path, which was covered in a shroud of darkness. The lighting was rather dim but hopefully their travels were coming to an end, where they go to meet something that would make the sewer smell quite pleasing, and the entire journey there like walking in a field of flowers where nothing but sunshine and rainbows exist. But unfortunately, its not something that was going to happen. Simply, they continued their walk with no interaction or any other glances at one another, from what Riyel saw. All that he could do was let loose a simple sigh before he paused, his hand sliding to his neck, where his ocarina and other things were...and it was empty. Rather, the pocket itself wasn't there at all. Riyel's eyes shot down towards his chest, stopping almost immediately, grasping at his neck for the pocket, looking around the area around him frantically for...the one thing that he needed with him. s**t! The thought rang through his mind almost immediately, turning around and looking at the path behind him...wonderful...just wonderful. Looking behind him, he watched Nona and Varitas walk, seeing if they had noticed him stopping...hopefully not. He had to go and get that pouch...he could catch up to them later and quickly...he hoped. Grasping his Gunblade, he turned and began to trod quietly down the path and looking frantically on the floor for that pouch. The leather must have torn through the metal chain, after so many years...he really needed to get a new pouch. Cursing at himself for the stupidity and pushing things back, he continued his search. Hopefully it was not in vain. A couple of minutes later...and no luck...absolutely no luck at all. Riyel was cursing fluently now, a never ending stream of profanity leaving his mouth as well as his running through his mind. He was about to give up almost altogether, a look of defeat on his face...until he heard a squawk...yes...a sqwuak...and then a squeal. Riyel only frowned in confusion, looking ahead. The sound was coming closer...and it just sounded childish. What is going on now? He thought, grasping his Gunblade nervously...what on earth was heading this way? Hoisting the Gunblade in front of him, he prepared to face whatever monstrosity was moving in his general direction, squawking and squealing loudly down the sewer path. Gripping the handle tighter, Riyel moved forward to prepare to strike if need be. It would be sad. He could die here, with Nona and Varitas not knowing what had happened to their companion. Riyel would simply be dead at the starting gate...a corpse before the real trial began. It's not what you think, Riyel. A voice, Ifrit's rang in his head, Just look. Really, the blonde held no desire to listen to Ifrit's voice at the moment...no desire at all. But what else could he do? Standing awkwardly, he prepared as the noise turned the corner. A small dragon came waltzing around the corner, floating in the air on small wings. The little beast itself was purple with some slight tan on its underbelly. There was obvious baby fat on it, and its giant green eyes were easily visible. It squawked repeatedly, floating up and down as it continued to move towards Riyel, its disproportionate wings somehow managing to carry it through the air...awkward for Riyel. I told you. Ifrit said, his voice snidely resonating through the recesses of the blonde's mind. "Well sue me. He spat back, watching as the little...dragon finally caught full sight of him, itself landing on the ground gently, making almost no sound at all before squawking again. Icarus! A small voice rang out through Riyel's ears, the sound comparable to that of a small child, a boy actually. "What?!' came the confused response of Riyel, who looked at the little dragon like it was an alien. Icarus! The voice rang once more in his head, Riyel shaking it off. What on earth?.... But almost immediately, Riyel caught something about the dragon...something was in its claws. A pouch. His pouch. Opening his mouth in simple dumbstruck expression, he only watched as...Icarus...began sniffing and looking at him inquisitively. Go get it. Ifrit's voice rang once more, Riyel shaking his head at the two voices speaking in his mind. Just...stop. Riyel begged imploringly, mostly at Ifrit. Surprisingly, the Demon of Fire did not respond, Riyel turning to continue watching the little dragon play with the pouch in its hand. "Give that here." A simple command that hopefully the childish dragon would understand as the blonde pointed at the pouch. Pouch? Riyel almost wanted to smack his forehead...almost... "Yes." He responded, his teeth grinding slightly as he stepped gingerly towards the dragon... "The pouch...Icarus." Hopefully it understood...hopefully. Icarus paused, looking at Riyel before it gingerly stepped forward as well, an adorable little wobble as it teetered towards the taller Riyel. Icarus only stood about...three feet to it seemed...three foot five or six, so Riyel presumed that he could take the little beast if it turned nasty...hopefully it didn't turn out to be a bigger threat than he found necessary...as he reached out with his hand to grasp the pouch from its hands. Icarus merely stuck its paw out, the pouch almost in reach. Taking another step, Riyel snatched the pouch quickly from its hand, stepping back three times. Good. Eying Icarus suspiciously, Riyel looked down at the pouch, opening it to examine the contents. After a moment came a content sigh, simply thankful as he confirmed the contents. If some of those contents had been lost...Riyel would not have been happy. Play now? Came the voice of Icarus once more. Not even registering what the little dragon had just said, Riyel only waved it off. "Yeah...sure, whatever." But that was not the best response, not at all. Right as Riyel turned to walk away, ignoring the dragon in order to hopefully find his group again, there was a loud squealing as Ifrit simply deadpanned, Incoming. Before Riyel knew it, something impacted quite heavily on point at the base of his back, himself being tackled to the ground, thankfully a clean patch of flooring. Riyel only cursed as the sound of childish laughing entered his mind, the little dragon playfully nipping at the back of Riyel's neck. Icarus was heavy...surprisingly heavy for a being his size, and Riyel just managed to roll over, tossing Icarus against the ground on its belly. The little monster had knocked the wind out of Riyel, who stood wobbling as Icarus struggled to its feet, a peal of laughter entering Riyel's mind next. Then it hit him...Icarus had said something about 'playing' and...he responded so. Once more, Riyel wanted to smack his forehead in exasperation. He could NOT be doing this right now...with this crazy, childish dragon. The group was probably almost to the meeting point...and Riyel did not desire to be left behind here. Before Icarus could leap to tackle him once more, Riyel raised his hand. The dragon halted, prepared to pounce at a moment with a sparkling look in its eyes. "Icarus....if that's your name...stop." He really hoped the dragon listened to him, and it certainly seemed to, relaxing on its haunches once more. Good. "Look." he tried explaining, making it simple for the little dragon to understand, "I don't have time to...'play' right now. I need to find my...friends so I don't get lost down here. Do you understand? If...if...if you help me, I'll play with you later, how's that sound." What Riyel figured, Icarus would have a sharp sense of smell and easily be able to help him find his group...because he was behind...far behind, from what he could tell. Icarus, however, paused for a moment, looking at Riyel with a funny look. If he said no...Riyel would not be able to get out of the sewer...without a miracle of course. Icarus continued looking at Riyel, before another thought rang through Riyel's mind once more. We play later....if me help? It was clear that he understood, the tall blonde sighing in relief. "Yes." Riyel confirmed, looking hopefully at his prospective companion. Icarus squawked in excitement before darting off, sniffing the air as he floated away, Riyel scrambling after Icarus, putting the pouch in his pocket while grasping his Gunblade and jogging after his little makeshift bloodhound. Riyel continued jogging after Icarus, moving through multiple paths that not even he could remember. Apparently, the little dragon had caught the scent of them...or Riyel hoped it was his group. But then again, anyone would do...right? Shaking his head at that thought, Riyel turned another corner before managing to see the back of Varitas and Nona. It had taken...a number of minutes...but apparently Icarus knew what he was doing. And it was surprising that the little brat knew...but before Riyel could say anything to the little dragon, Icarus let loose a squawk before vanishing in a purple light, entering Riyel's body almost instantaneously... "Thanks?" He said incredulously, simply stunned by what had just happened....had Riyel just gained another companion?! Simply shaking his head, confused, Riyel walked quickly to catch up with Nona and Varitas, stepping back into his spot in the group, attempting to look like nothing happened...absolutely....nothing. ▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§▲§ Is there no standard anymore? Varitas Durentis Level: 15 Health: Ready Magic: N/A Status: Confused=========================================== Following Nona silently yet with his sense fully on alert, the disappearance of the youth did not go unnoticed. However they had not yet arrived at their destination, which apparently would be where two new strangers would be awaiting. As they came up in the distance, Varitas heard the pitter patter of Riyel's feet. "Must have been important and personal, next time let us know if you have to take a leak." Varitas voice remained as deadpan as Ifrit's probably was and he didn't once look back towards him. It also wasn't clear if he truly believed that's what had happened during his absence. sounds like cursing and the squawk of a dragon echo surprisingly well through empty sewage tunnels... As far as arriving at the meeting place, experience had taught him to simply blend in. And so he did his best. sticking to the wall standing behind his "companions" and not saying a word unless spoken to.

It wasn't the most pleasant experience, and he hoped he would never have to do this again, but it was tolerable, and it only took a few minutes to adjust to and properly ignore. As they walked, he continued to review the battle strategy. Or perhaps lack thereof. It would be easy getting in, as well as finding her, but the actual tactics one might come up with when facing an actual sorceress? Sou-Ho had none. 'So long as I can get close to her, the battle may never need begin.' It was a slight hope, but touching the three steel capsules he had on his belt it was one he was praying on. He and Varitas both would have the advantage in this battle, and he hoped to take it.
Turning into another tunnel, the group came to the end of their journey. Already a group was up ahead, from the looks of it Nipal's group, as well as two others, whom Sou-Ho expected to be their ways in and out. Sou-Ho did his equivalent of a frown, however, as he caught sight of who the two were. Zane was the first one he noticed, as he was standing out further and directly talking with Nipal's group. Dressed in black and visibly difficult to see, even with the mask on, and the hair purposely styled to further obscure his face, Sou-Ho recognized the man. 'Caize, He thought, hand casually lowering to his sword, gripping the sheath and tilting it into a position that would allow for him to quickly draw. He was willing to give the man the benefit of the doubt, but only for as long as he was sure this wasn't a trap. Caize had been working with Galbadia in Aurel, and given their mission it would not have been all that surprising if he was working with them again, and had been tasked with intercepting them. 'Yet he hasn't harmed Nipal's group.' Sou-Ho noted as they drew close, the possibilities of what that could mean each unfolding in his mind. No, for now Sou-Ho would hold his blade, at least until he was sure Caize was not a threat to the mission.
The second person Sou-Ho noticed, taking his eyes off "Zane" to look at who his partner was, made Sou-Ho blink in surprise. "Kiyari," He muttered much too softly to be heard by his two companions. He was genuinely surprised to see her there of all people, though perhaps given their line of work it was only a matter of time before they eventually crossed paths on one mission or another. He quickly scratched his mind and went back through his memories to try and recall what he remembered of her. She had come to Winhill for a time to act as an instructor, although at this time he was already graduated and spending time in other Gardens so he had never had the chance to meet her then. His first real encounter with her was in Galbadia. Having hailed from Winhill, he had been matched up with her, due to her own experiences with Winhill. It was a brief time, couldn't have been more than a year, and most of their time in each others presence was mainly for training purposes. He was frowning full on now as he stared at Kiyari, attempting to discern whether or not she, and Caize, truly were a trap. Clearly his experiences with her were not the most redeeming.
"On guard." He muttered to Kalay and Lisanna. Kalay wouldn't need it, he would have known both, but Sou-Ho told them nevertheless to keep on their guard around these two. The allegiance of these two was not yet known. In the same breath, he addressed the two operatives. "You two will be our aid for the mission, then," He said addressing Zane, holding his hand out for the man to shake. "I am Sou-Ho Nebulous, and this is Kalay Laytos and Lisanna Everett. I trust that we are the only ones to have arrived thus far?" He asked, looking back at Nipal for a second. Winchester's group had yet to arrive, which was odd as he had half expected that she would be first to arrive over Nipal. With any luck it wouldn't be long before the group arrived. Time was not on their side. Looking back to Zane, his expression was, as ever, serious. "While we wait, would you mind if we spoke in private? There are some things regarding the mission I would like to go over."

Kalay followed behind Sou-ho, looking as bored and calm as ever, even with the smell of the sewers around them. Carbuncle still hadn't made an appearance, but that was most likely due to her heightened sense of smell, so Kalay was trying to spare her some misery. Oddly, even with what Sou-ho had said, they did not meet anyone at the junction, meaning the group they were supposed to meet had probably gone on ahead. Sou-ho didn't seem concerned about it as he carried on, leading them deftly through the sewers. It really didn't take long for them to get to were they were headed, though as soon as they turned the corner, Kalay was pretty sure he saw Sou-ho's expression darken somewhat, as if he saw something he didn't like. Curiosity made him want to ask what it was, but he knew better than to actually speak out, so he kept silent and followed, realizing rather quickly just what the problem was.
First, the situation wasn't exactly cordial. Lloyd seemed the most relaxed, but Ellale was behind Tae, whom seemed to be guarding her from sight with the two contacts. Of course, the contacts were of more interest to Kalay. He knew both, well. Probably better than anyone else around, at least in terms of history. He slowly looked from Zane to Kiyari, his yellow eyes not giving much for them to read aside from the usual bored mood he seemed to be in. "Already on it." Was Kalay's near silent response to Sou-ho. He knew why Sou-ho was on edge, after all anyone who looked at Zane and Kiyari probably would be. Even with the alias, and the clothing, anyone whom had fought Caize would know full well who Zane was. Their attitudes may have seemed different, and their actions, but the way he held himself was certainly the same as Caize. That wasn't the whole problem though. They were both from Galbadia, from what he remembered of his ex-teammates. At least, they were now. Originally they'd all been at Balamb, but times had certainly changed as Kalay was more than aware of.
"Kiyari." Kalay said in a brief greeting, giving a wave. She would no doubt recognize him, after either, neither one of them had changed too much, though Kiyari would no doubt notice a more relaxed air to him than what she had seen during his final exam. Perhaps at least one of them had changed in terms of personality, but they hadn't physically changed too much. Kalay's eyes were focused on Kiyari's, almost as if he were reading her for a reaction, but his passive look made it hard to determine if he was looking for something, or just watching her. "I don't like it, Kalay. You haven't seen her in years. Why is she suddenly helping?" 'I think someone is a little quick on the trigger there, Carbuncle. She's still a SeeD, so we were bound to meet one another again. And it makes sense she'd be the contact. She's from Balamb, but working in Galbadia.' He thought in response to his GF, whom went silent with the answer. Apparently, she didn't like that answer.

---
Was it her imagination, or did the shadows sometimes take too long to get swept away by the beam? Although Nona didn’t look around much, she scanned the dim sewers steadily with her flashlight, and its motion struck an odd chord. In-between checking sign markers to orient herself, she swept it carefully across the dark halls, watching the reactions. After a few minutes, she was sure of it. ”Lights off,” she murmured to the two she thought were behind her, just before clicking the button on her own. When Varitas followed suit, it plunged them into total darkness. For a moment, anyway. Nona carefully turned around, looking all over in that momentary silence.
There.
It was hiding on the ceiling, ready to pounce. In the dark it was impossible to see except a pair of faintly luminous red eyes. She set her flashlight down as she saw it starting to move toward them, just a few yards away across the canal. It must have done very well as a hunter down here, so quick and well-hidden...Not well enough, though. The dark was lit by a sudden gout of flame surging from Nona’s hand, the ball striking the thing on the ceiling. A second shot followed the first in quick succession, the blasts illuminating a dark shape on the ceiling. A squealing shriek filled the air and those hateful red eyes dropped from the ceiling to the floor on the other edge of the canal. Nona couldn’t see its figure writhing in the blackness, but it sounded like it was in pain.
She drew and cast almost at the same time. A luminous white light flowed from the creature as she pulled some spell out of it, and immediately flung another back as payment. The small burst of fire shot across the canal, briefly illuminating a dark, flat shape with red eyes and gnashing white teeth. Its shriek abruptly ended, and all was dark again. Nona picked up her flashlight and lit up the path after an examination of the sewers around them. ”All clear,” she announced, and got moving again.
If Nona had noticed her compatriot’s absence at all, she must not have been particularly worried. The quiet rush of the filth water through the canal past them masked Riyel’s footsteps when he slunk back into position with the group. It was Durentis’ comment that stirred her attention while she considered another faded marker sign, glancing back at the two. She refrained from comment, whatever the case, instead giving a professional ”Almost there.”
The trio rounded a corner and were abruptly faced with the three groups which had already converged. Nona didn’t lose a step; probably aware of exactly where they were. It looked like no one had managed to get lost in the underbelly of the city, and even Blondie had managed not to step in the canal. They almost certainly heard the little scuffle (at least the monster’s part, anyway), but Nona was sure the sewer walls were too thick for the noise to get far. When you had a maze full of monsters right under your feet, only an idiot would skimp on solid construction.”Looks like everyone’s here,” she noted coolly while she looked over the two strangers.

It was difficult to make out who they were so at first Lis was a little confused when she saw only five people, thinking it was both of the other teams that were waiting, but missing one person. Then they got closer and she realised that Nona’s team hadn’t even arrived yet. She was glad to see that Lloyd’s team had made it safely and smiled at them, giving a brief wave. Even more intriguing though were the two unfamiliar people who were also there, both of them looking very serious and almost intimidating. Lis didn’t know either of them and in all honesty she felt uneasy around them, but she trusted Sou Ho that these were the people who were here to help them. Clearly Lloyd and his team were alright, aside from also looking somewhat on edge.
She glanced at Sou Ho and nodded faintly at his order as they approached and joined the waiting group. The girl was content to remain silent and only smiled in greeting to Kiyari and Zane when Sou Ho introduced her and Kalay. To her surprise Kalay seemed to act as if he knew the red headed female personally, which made her blink and look at him for a moment. His expression was passive so it was hard for her to guess the nature of their relationship. It wasn’t really her business if they knew each other anyway though, she realised. Whilst Sou Ho carried on with talking Lis couldn’t help shooting a look at the woman’s chest, which then made her drop her gaze to her own much flatter figure. With a faintly awkward cough she crossed her arms and pretended to be looking around, fidgeting slightly. At that point she heard some kind of commotion happening somewhere in the sewers, the sounds of scuffling and faint blasts…and an animalistic shriek. To say it was unnerving was an understatement. Lisanna’s eyes widened as she stared into the dark, shivering as the hairs rose on her skin.
”Wh-What was th-that…?” She said softly, looking nervous. By now it had gone silent again and when Nona finally rounded the corner with her team Lisanna let out the breath she’d been holding in, relaxing. ”Oh yes, we also just got here. Did you have some trouble…? I heard…uhm, things...” Lis said in reply to Nona, glancing over her shoulder into the dark again. She clearly wanted to be sure nothing nasty was going to be following Nona’s group. They all seemed fine though and not exactly like they were fleeing from anything. Her gaze flicked over the two males behind Nona. Riyel looked the same as always and she couldn’t say she was happy to see him but at least he was alright. She was actually more interested in the silver haired stranger, whom she hadn't been able to get a good look at earlier. He wasn’t anyone she recognised from the garden so she was naturally curious as to who he was. There was a slight familiarity about him which made her wonder if she’d seen him at the ball last night, but she still didn’t know him. At least until she wracked her brains, remembering Sou Ho telling them about the mission and who would be accompanying them. There had been one strange name on the list she could attribute to the silver haired fellow nearby, if her assumption was correct.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬⊰ ✮ ⊱▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬'I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

 Lloyd laughed as Zane got his attention and rubbed the back of his head. For now he'd play the part of the fool, but silently 1000 scenarios were running through his mind. Kiyari didn't seem to think much of him, but that was fine as it was. Who were these two? Particularly, he had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach about all of this. Something...didn't feel right. He took notice of Tae's tenseness and reached back a bit putting his hand over hers. He gave her a grin but it silently meant 'Don't worry, it's going to be fine.' Thankfully, another group emerged joining them.
He noticed the faint odd look in Sou-ho's eye and that worried Lloyd a bit. Was this some sort of trap? Gotta play it cool for now. Sou-ho wanted to speak to Zane in private, for what though? Dammit, what was this anxiousness? Not long after Nona and her team had arrived and Lloyd heaved a sigh. Looks like it was almost time to get this underway. He turned and ruffled Ellale's hair for comfort his eyes held nothing but positivity. Though...this feeling was still there.

Of the initial trio, Lloyd seemed the leader from what Zane could pick up. Not only that, but he also seemed to be more confident than his two companions. Zane did not miss the way that the two girls watched him and Kiyari, in fact the green haired one was quick to move closer to the pale haired one, whom moved in front of her as if to protect her. 'How cute.' Zane thought, though the thought wasn't joking, it was rather sarcastic. The two introduced themselves, getting a friendly nod from Zane. Ellale seemed to relax when she wasn't being watched by himself and Kiyari, in fact, even her partner seemed to relax somewhat at that. The white haired one didn't say her name though, she didn't say anything to either him or Kiyari, actually, she just shielded Ellale and watched them. It seemed like none of the group had any questions, and none of them seemed to have much to say to him or Kiyari, so with a shrug he crossed his arms and looked around. Kiyari was silent to, making it a rather dour meeting.
And then the next group arrived. Zane actually smirked beneath his mask as he watched Sou-ho approach. He could see a faint change in expression at the sight of him, not that Zane minded. He remained where he was, watching the second group arrive. Taking in Sou-ho's posture was easy enough, the man's hand resting on his blade. So, he had doubts? At least he was being subtle about them, rather than being clear on his unease with the situation. That just seemed like Sou-ho though. The second to gain his attention was Kalay, whom locked eyes with him for but a moment. Zane could read nothing of Kalay's expression in that moment, but he knew Kalay was watching him. Finally, another white haired one, this time an unfamiliar face. He gave her a faint nod of the head, at her smile which was unusual so far from those meeting them, before glancing at Sou-ho as he got close enough to hold his hand out.
Zane shook his head with a nod of his head. "We wondered when you guys would arrive, but you appear to be a bit ahead of time which is good. A pleasure to make your acquaintance." Zane said, shaking sou-ho's hand. And then, Sou-ho directed his attention at Zane seriously, saying something that got a chuckle from Zane. "That is fin-" He voice was cut by the rather loud ruckus from just around the tunnel's bend, Zane's hand dropping to the sword hanging at his waist before he caught sight of Nona, another he recognized, before he lowered his hand from his weapon and relaxed. Lisanna seemed rather startled by the sudden display, but Zane was not so concerned. As expected, her tone was the same as he remembered.
"Well, now that everyone is here, I suppose I should give you a brief idea of what you're going to be doing. The idea is simple, Kiyari here is your actual insider. She's getting you all in, past the guards, and to where Edea should be waiting. As for me, I'm here to keep any wandering guards as far from you as possible. If we've timed this right, there won't be any guards in the mansion, meaning you should have a quiet little jog to where she should be waiting. She's preparing for the parade that will occur after her induction, so we need to remove her before that happens as it'll give you the longest time frame to escape before anyone is on to anything. I'm sure you're aware of the repricutions for what you're doing here, so I suggest preparing yourself for the worst. Now, if you have a question now would be the time to ask Kiyari. I believe, Sou-ho, you wish to talk with me." As Zane came to a finish he turned his attention to Sou-ho. He motioned with his head and moved away from the group crossing his arms as he came to a stop just out of listening range from the group, turning to watch Sou-ho.

"I wonder what the mission will be?" These thoughts went through Xaris's head as they walked towards the mansion. She was told that her exam was to be at the mansion, and that there will her mission be given to her and her teammates.
In the group with her was her instructor (Zayden Makoff, He always stood out from the other instructors due to the symbol inscribed on his forehead, and his eyes always changed color when he felt a type of mood whether he was happy, upset, or angered. He was her only friend. He has always protected her in training when she faced any creature that was stronger than her, though he could easily take down any creature with those dual blades of his. This relieved her knowing that her instructor would accompany her with the assignment).
Sayiff Leyus (Wields two customized handguns. Sayiff always was renown for his accuracy with them. She would always hear someone mention it when she walked the garden lobby to class. He also was mentioned as cocky, self centered, and a bit of a pervert. She kept her distance from him and did her best to ignore his rude comments too her when they left the garden together. He is distinct from the rest of them. He has crimson colored hair, along with his eyes being the same color. He also has a large scar on his left cheek. He never told the group how he got it nor did anyone gossip about it when they talked about him).
Viola Aemit (She uses multiple short blades that she has sheathed around her body from her chest to the ones hidden in her shoes. Her skills are also renown for her speed in battle, and her ability to solve issues both in and out of battle. She was mentioned a lot through gossip for her skills and kindness to others, yet never once did Xaris encounter her at the garden. Viola differs from the group with her short lemon colored hair, and green colored eyes.)
And finally their last member of the group. Kilich Yutsuf (The youngest of the group and the tallest of the group, he uses gauntlets that channel his strength into a single blow. Xaris witnessed his power when she saw him training one night. He was fighting a strong creature by himself. She was about to aid him but as soon as she ran to help he had punched the creature once and watched as it flew against the training room wall. She knew then that he was capable of handling himself so she left him to his training).
As they all wander past the crowd of people and enter the pathway towards the mansion Xaris remembered how she was studying in her dorm with an unexpected surprise from her instructor. "You are finally ready to take the SeeD exam. Be prepared we are leaving tomorrow to Deling City." She remembered how she was happy to hear those words from her mentor, she finally thought that finally she was moving up becoming more powerful, and that all the training she has done wasn't for nothing. The corner of his mouth jerked in clear distaste, and from the narrowing of his eyes it was obvious that he was wasting no effort in trying to hide his disapproval for the opposite's sense of humor. Sou-Ho found himself idly wondering what it would take to wipe the smirk off of Zane's face, but when he likened his own thoughts to something that Eamonn might think or do he banished them from his mind, though with some reluctance.
"It is of a private matter I feel should be spoken of in priva--" The sound of a shrill cry and something like a muffled explosion came from behind, and Sou-Ho turned sharply, hand on the sheath of his sword, with the weapon tilted and his other hand hovering over the hilt of his katana, ready to be drawn. He kept his back turned so neither Zane and Kiyari were in view of it, while they remained within this, but he was tense as he stared into the tunnels where the noise had originated. Tense until he saw Nona and her party emerge from within, Sou-Ho clicking his tongue and relaxing, if only visibly.
"I do hope that whatever scuffle just occurred did not attract the attention of any but ourselves, Ms. Winchester." Sou-Ho spoke, regarding her with an eye, much like a teacher might a student whom had made a very obvious mistake on a question. "While you are in the rights to defend yourself against the things that may lurk within the sewers, keep in mind that you are the leader, and as such you should avoid directly entering combat yourself when it is unnecessary to do so. Particularly when you have two capable team members whom can accomplish the same task with much more stealth, and with less risk of losing their commanding officer. Mr. Nipal, I hope you will keep this in mind as well. Rash behavior will not be tolerated on this mission."
Finishing chastising Nona, Sou-Ho turned his full attention back to Zane and Kiyari, nodding for Zane to proceed. It seemed their talk would have to wait, now that everyone had gathered. He listened intently, picking at Zane's words with a dissecting mind. The short briefing was as mentioned within the files, so nothing new there, nor anything out of the norm. But still yet this pair did not sit well on his mind, and having them as part of the team was far from his expectations. He wondered if this was something the headmaster had prepared, or if even this was beyond his insight.
"Affirmative," Sou-Ho confirmed, nodding his head for Zane to go first, Sou-Ho watching him with cautious eyes. He shot a look at Kalay and Lisanna, giving them a silent message that they would hopefully understand as "You know what to do," and followed behind Zane, his hand never leaving his scabbard. The moment the two were alone, and out of sight of the others, Sou-Ho drew his sword, the rasp of the blade leaving it's sheath a sigh as soft as the touch of silk in the wind. He drew the blade up to Caize, positioning the weapon in a manner that even if the man attempted to deflect the blade Sou-Ho would have time to rend flesh, and the man would feel it's bite on his life. "Explain this to me now, Caize. What is the meaning of this?" Sou-Ho's eyes were as sharp and frosty as icicles, and from his expression he was more than serious about cutting Caize. "It was not just a week ago you had tried to kill my charges. And now you show up here, under guise and with the promise of aid. Whose side are you really playing for?" He demanded, speaking calmly, yet coolly, despite his aggressive actions.

「 Caize + Ovelen 」 Junction: {Alexander- 6000 / 6000} // {P. 4000 / 4000} Level: 19 Hp: 2100/ 2100 Location: Deling Sewers ┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉ {{Ooc:// }}
As to be expected, Sou-ho was not happy with the resounding bang that had obviously come from the other group and was quick to chastise them. Zane watched with mild interest as he spoke with the younger SeeD. He had to be honest, the younger SeeD reminded him from when he was younger in their place. Granted, that had only been a few years ago, but it still made him think of them as naive as to how the world went round. Still, they would figure out one day, but hopefully not so much in a hurry. After Sou-ho was done with his chiding, the pair moved away from the others going out of sight from them as Sou-ho had wanted. Given Zane's stance, there was clearly little hostility to be found from him, even as Sou-hos weapon was drawn and raised against him. Zane didn't bother reaching for his sword, nor did he seem concerned about the blade that rested just shortly away from him. He didn't seem particularly happy about the situation though, those strange pink-violet eyes of his watching with distaste. On a good note for Sou-ho, Zane's smug smirk was gone.
"I figured you and Kalay would know right away." Caize responded, his voice much less amused and much more serious now. If this was because Sou-ho had his weapon drawn or because he didn't have to play an act anymore it was hard to say. His arms stayed crossed though as he watched Sou-ho. Of course Sou-ho would have an issue with all of this, and he seemed none the happier with the lack of being informed about this prior to coming. Honestly, Caize was starting to wish he hadn't needed to be so ridiculously careful about this, but there wasn't much choice in the matter. "If I wanted to kill your charges, I wouldn't have fought you in one on one combat, I would have just has Alexander drop judgement on the students as they tried to fight." Caize returned smartly. "I also wouldn't have told you to get them across the bridge. And that little display, that being Karas's little idea, wouldn't have purposefully missed the bridge." He had a point, on all parts. Had he really wanted to kill Sou-ho's charges, he had certainly had the chance more than once. He seemed oddly irritated about the whole matter though. Not that he offered much explanation on it yet.
"So yah, I'm helping. I'm not from Galbadia anyways, I'm from Balamb. It's not like Balamb likes the situation any better than Winhill. Who do you think sent in the contract? Either way, me and Kiyari are your only ways in. It took me forever to get them to trust me, and I had to do things I'm not proud of, but I managed to do it. That's how I knew their location, because they told me it." Well, that was a bit of information for Sou-ho to take in, not that Caize was happy to be saying it all. Clearly he was not happy with what he had done. "So, are you going to trust me or are you planning on doing something rash with that blade of yours?" Now he was just asking for trouble. Caize's arms were still crossed, and he was still watching Sou-ho seriously, waiting for him to lower his blade so that they could return to the groups. Caize at least sounded sincere in what he was saying, and he hadn't attacked Nipal's group even when they had arrived first when it would have been easiest to take them out. ┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉ Magic ????: 2 Thundara: 7 Fire: 5 Cure: 5 Esuna: 5 Regen: 5

Galbadia SeeD
This event was incredibly important for Galbadia, the Garden Included, and with so much that could go wrong, it was not hard to imagine that the Garden itself would have sent SeeD to help with the security, hiring them to make sure nothing funny happened. That was how the situation had originally started anyways, and had escalated from there. What had original been just a few SeeD had been changed into a SeeD exam. It seemed like a rather easy test for an Exam, but Galbadia Garden was taking the situation very seriously, or at least appeared to in appearance. There were not just those taking the exams around though, that being there were also SeeD taking part just in case something really did happen. As it were, this was serving as a good test on how the SeeD would react to dealing with situations such as these where, instead of brute force, skill was required to patrol areas and keep tabs on what was going on around them. If nothing went wrong, all the better, but it things went to hell, they would certainly have a full force exam on their plates.
Among these were Xaris Zeigmus's group, lead by her instructor Makoff. Things had been rather smooth sailing for them since their arrival in the city, and they hadn't actually seen any unusual activity, which was faring well for Xaris and her group. As it where, the leader, Viola, hadn't been pushed into a rough situation. Makoff was with them, but he did not provide much information to them being that he was just supposed to monitor them. Their orders were a little odd though, hanging out in the slowly growing crowd awaiting the parade, or at least the crowd was. They had been ordered to take this location and wait for a single. The orders had been a little obtuse, but simple enough that even Makoff figured it would be a walk in the park for his students.
"Hold here. This is the spot." Viola called out to her allies, Makoff turning his attention elsewhere while the team was left to talk amongst themselves. Given this was such an easy SeeD exam, he couldn't help but feel like there was some key piece they were all missing. He could only figure whatever it was would make itself clear eventually, but that didn't make him anymore comfortable about his students taking the exam blind to the entire situation. He had to suppose that was a pretty common thing for Exams though, you were given orders and you followed them. How well you followed them contributed to your final score. He was just hoping nothing too crazy happened. There had been some strange rumors about an assassination plot, but weren't there always things like that during these things? Why else would Galbadia Garden have sent so many people to over watch the event?
"Remember to keep your eyes opened for the signal. We move if we see it." Viola reminded them. It was a precaution, one that likely wasn't needed. They weren't going to get signaled to do anything, or so Makoff expected. Still, it was good for her to be treating it so seriously. Would certainly help her score in the long run as the leader.

Varitas Durentis Level: 15 Health: 1000/1000 Magic: N/A Status: Cautious =========================================== Varitas followed after Nona, never having actually shifted his "flashlight" into the On position. His eyes were more used to the darkness than perhaps most, as he'd never used lanterns or torches excepting on rare occasions, since they had the unpleasant tendency to draw in monsters. And so as their illustrious leader messily and noisily murdered the thing which lay in wait in the ceiling Varitas' weapon had been out and brandished to attempt to dispatch it. He silently and without a word sheathed the blade he carried across his back. His visage seemed disappointed. As Nona rounded the corner, Varitas stopped, hearing the voices of newcomers. He figured that they must be the contacts who were supposed to be there, yet, The tension visible in the more experienced Fighters' Body language gave him reason to doubt the wisdom of rounding the corner just yet. And so, He stopped just short of being visible, to anyone inside the new chamber, the acoustic nature of their location granting him perfectly acceptable auditory perception of the details of their next goal, while also not revealing himself to strangers who might just turn out to be hostile. Best keep, to the shadows until you know the situation or you're hardly effective as backup Varitas had always been taught. He would be ready to move if things proceeded peacefully, or leap into the fray as a surprise should things progress poorly.

╔═════════════════╗☽ Xaris ☾❂☽ Zeigmus ☾╚═════════════════╝Junction: {Diablos- 1,000 / 1,000} Level: 5 Hp: 400/ 400 Location: Outside the mansion ↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑ {{Ooc:// }}
The environment was quiet as in terms of trouble, nothing had stirred while Xaris awaited the signal. The crowd and parade were still as loud as ever. It wasn't dying down anytime soon either. The team stood and relaxed as they all looked around not saying a word to each other. Strangely even that pervert was keeping his mouth shut Xaris thought. She was glad that he was keeping quiet since he wouldn't seize the rude comments on the way to Deling city.
As Xaris waited for the signal she couldn't help but feel that this exam was quite odd. It wasn't the normal exam, and everything that had happen up to this point was sudden and unexpected. Everything was going according to plan though none of the members except the instructor knew truly what the mission was. Xaris felt compelled to ask the instructor but decided not too due to not wanting to bother him at the moment.
Suddenly a voice was heard inside of her head. "There will be a decision that will be made that will impact your future Xaris, be prepared to make it when the time comes." She was confused but the voice sounded familiar so she thought in her head. "Diablos?" The voice replied back immediately. "yes." she replied back. "What do you mean I will have to make a choice, and how will this decision I make effect my outcome?"
He again replied. "You are going to have to decide what will be worth fighting for, fighting for power will alone undo you, and you will never achieve my weapon. The time will soon come Xaris, be on guard and don't let me down." She nodded in acknowledgment to him and remained quiet while she pondered on what Diablos said. Everything was unfolding she could tell. She felt that whatever this decision may be could be the turning point of her life.
She continued to think, but then her instructor spoke to her. "Xaris are you ok. You haven't said much since we have gotten here is everything alright?" She replied back. "Yes, everything is fine, im just wondering why we were quickly dispatched out here for our exam. It would be helpful if we were all informed on why. Do you have the answer instructor?" He stood there and didn't answer her question, which worried her. She thought what was so secretive that the instructor didn't want to answer too or perhaps he himself didn't even know why they were all brought out there awaiting the signal. This made her go into deeper thinking and recall on what Diablos said. "What are you willing to fight for? Power alone won't be enough as a cause."
These thoughts ran deep into her head, constantly repeating over and over. It began to frustrate her because she couldn't simply find the answer... at least not yet she thought. Then before the topic soon dropped from her mind she said one more thing. "Soon I hope may this answer come to me, that there will be more meaning to a cause than just power." She then decided to seek out why this mission was of importance. She ran through all the information that was given to her and her group. Though all that was given was that they were to just wait for the signal and take out any trouble that was to present itself either before or after the signal was given.
