Seeing the little ones bursting forth, her starry eyes widened, glancing down at the two dragonets. They were Beautiful. Two perfect greens. The serious candidate couldn't help the small smirk that flicked over her lips as the littlest got stuck. Oops. Her gaze stayed on the two, fascinated by them. They were perfect...Absolutely incredible, and took ehr breath away. She would stand here as long as it took, to see them all...To pray for impression. Even if she didn't, they were all still incredible...

Skelly gave a soft squeak of surprise as the eggs burst! Were the eggs suppose to burst? He blinked and paused and gave a soft giggle, before flushing embarrassed. Men shouldn't giggle. The Shiny and Murky eggs had hatched a pair of rather lovely greens. The Shiny egg was light and had fancy markings and seemed enamored with the girls. The Murky egg was darker and smaller and stuck? Where they suppose to get stuck? "Is the Ovate and the other green alright?" He questioned softly, head tipped as he looked over the smaller dark green dragon.

Jennes watched as the first two eggs simultaneously split open to reveal their contents. A pair of greens! Rather different in size and shade, though from the way they liked to react to each other you might think them more similar. The larger was headed for the female Candidates, so it seemed unlike that she would head towards him. Or perhaps she wouldn't find hers among the girls and come to inspect the boys. Either one was fine with him; she needed to find who was best for her, and if that wasn't him, so be it. The smaller green seemed to have broken into the Ovate Egg though, so he wondered if it would be next to hatch.

Zarike
From his place in the Stands Zarike watched with an apprehensive interest. He wanted to Impress, but this was not how he'd imagined it. With two of the seven eggs hatched so soon, this was bound to be a short hatching. Neither green seemed inclined towards the Stands. At least, not yet. One was stuck and if she didn't free herself, Zarike wouldn't be surprised if she betweened.
Sad, but these things happened.
............................. Zofer
The eggs hatched, and Zofer relaxed. Two greens, and the first heading towards the girls. He had liked the shiny egg during the Touching, and he couldn't deny his disappointment at seeing it hatch green. Then again, he had liked it because it liked the Effervescent egg.
Before the Hatchling reached Emora, Zofer responded to her. "Yeah at least here you're not really preforming. Just kinda waiting for your dragon to hatch."

Caelan Greens? Caelan paused and snorted as the Shiny green sent the Ovate egg in her siblings path. Well, that was different. He wasn't sure if the Shiny green had done that on purpose or by accident but the Murky green was less then pleased. She seemed rather enraged and stuck in the Ovate egg? "I'm sure the egg and dragonet inside is fine Skelly," he said softly, calming his sibling. If there was anything in the Ovate egg... it could just be yolk, but he didn't care to upset his sibling.
Mari Mari cooed softly at the little greens. They were not what she was looking for, but she could not help but admire them both. Green was a gorgeous shade of hide and the light green was quick on her feet and seemed rather clever. She smiled at Quindrife as the green walked right towards her. Perhaps... no, hmm. She blinked and looked at the fancy markings on the lighter green's legs. She shifted her head, looking at the darker green and the Ovate egg. Such a racket the little one was making. "Come on baby, you can get free if you just calm down a bit." She whispered softly.

Jadros, who had totally been there the whole time and hadn't mysteriously appeared on the sands in any way, shape or form, looked on nervously as the eggs began to hatch. Not nervous that he would mess up, for a change, but nervous about the eggs hatching and the baby dragons inside emerging without pause.
The two greens that popped from their eggs seemed alright, and Jadros could feel the corners of his lips pulling up along his face about as far as they could possibly go. They were just so cute! never before had he been so close to new life. He scarcely knew what to do with himself.
Would singing get him mauled? Maybe. He had enjoyed the humming before the hatching had started to come to life. It had been a lovely melody, in a way, and one he wanted to repeat later, if he happened to have a chance to.
He smiled faintly as he watched the hatchlings get their bearings and begin the search for their partners, though his mind kept flickering back to the touching, and the way the gold had suddenly reacted. Did that mean something for the hatching, too? Was there more going on that they needed to be worried about? Or was it because she had sensed something about the eggs? There was the source of his nerves again.
He wouldn't feel relaxed until every last baby dragon had found their partners.

Bracing her hind talons against the Ovate Egg, the dark dragon from the Murky Egg pushes with all her might and at last frees herself, sending the Ovate Egg bumping and rolling over the sand, cracking as it goes. Then she shakes herself, fans her wings, and stalks over to join her larger sibling in examining the girls.
Each girl that the Shiny Egg green examines, the Murky Egg green examines. Where the lighter green lingers, so does the darker, and eventually it becomes apparent that the weaving light green dragon is particularly interested in two candidates, Emora and Auri. She is attempting to gradually herd the two girls closer together so that she won't have to walk hither and yon to compare them.
The dark green dragon has decided to sit back and wait while her sister works, but she is watching incredibly closely, perhaps trying to guess which of the two girls is more worthy.
Some distance behind them the brilliant Tropical Egg begins to move.

At the sound of the shells breaking and twin greens emerging Quindrife gave a bit of a nod, they were both pretty little things even the judgy one that had come from the shiny egg. Rolling her heavily muscled shoulders until they were properly squared then standing her full height didn’t really help much when she watched the small dark green howl and cause a fuss, at the sight of the little green standing in front of her watching her with calculating eyes Quindrife could only scowl, she knew that she wasn’t good enough for that green, no there was someone far better than her along her peers to impress to.
Throwing a glance towards Emora and Zofer she couldn’t help but sneer all too visibly. “Would you two just shut up already, you are being disrespectful during the ceremony. This isn’t the time to flirt. Insolent children.” Heatedly barked the brute in a voice that rumbled dangerously towards the two. She really wasn’t in the mood to listen to them anymore, really she wasn’t.

Rodana
Quite frankly, Ro wasn’t sure how she felt about this whole… Hatching situation. Not that she was bothered about attending. It was fantastic! She loved Hatchings. All Hatchings, no matter the number or size of eggs, no matter the circumstances, no matter what Weyr she happened to be at. They were just straight-up exciting. But… well, she had to admit, this wasn’t the most auspicious one that she had ever attended.
There was something off about the whole thing. Oh sure, there was the awkwardness that an Igen gold had clutched at Fort. That was sure to ruffle feathers. Rodana suspected it would have ruffled a lot more feathers if one of the eggs had been markedly larger and golder, but in this case the lack of shiny was a blessing. It meant that maybe the Fort and Igen Weyrleaders wouldn’t murder each other hopefully. Although given everyone’s expressions…
Ah well. When the Weyrwoman tells you to hop on her dragon because you’re going to Fort, then you’re going to Fort. And if nothing else, Ro would have a front row seat.
She sidled in next to Zarike, curious and straining to see past the crowd. Being short could be a bit of a burden sometimes. “This is pretty exciting, huh?”
Zenikal
Hatching Hatching Hatching Hatching oh Faraaaaaaaanth he was going to be late! He couldn’t be late! The usually effortlessly composed young man was practically bolting towards the Sands, sandals flapping, robe slightly askew, frantically determined not to be the last one to arrive –
And of course, when he got there, found out that the Candidates were being instructed to wait outside the sands anyway until the eggs began to crack. Anticlimactic? A bit. But it gave him time to sidle into the middle of the crowd, furtively fixing his hair and adjusting his robe. Just because everyone was wearing the same thing didn’t mean he couldn’t wear his with some sense of style. And it just wouldn’t do to look hurried in front of the dragons.
He tried to position himself well amongst the group of Candidates. Not too far out in front, didn’t want to look overeager or desperate. But not in the back, either. What if his dragon couldn’t find him? No, he wanted to be close enough to the front that he could see, but not SO close that he would be Number One Meat Shield when one of the bad-tempered eggs came barreling through.
And the first two to hatch were both greens! Good! Greens were good! Zenikal had no illusions about himself, and he knew that bronze was off the table for him – and likely brown as well, if what he’d heard about browns was correct. Which meant that greens were… oh. One was stuck, and the other was headed towards the girls.
Well, there were five more! And Effervescent and Regal, his charming favorites, hadn’t even hatched yet. No need to be worried.

Juding by the two greens' actions, neither was interested in her... oh well. There were still more eggs, and she was young enough that she still had many hatchings before her if this time wasn't her time. As long as those greens found Theirs, that was all that mattered. Still... it would be so very nice...
And now the regal egg was hatching, and Iliyana found her gaze drawn to it, remembering the way it had sent her to her knees with the sensation it awoke in her. Who would such a Dragon Impress to?

"I don't know this feels a bit like preforming to me." Emora murmered as the Shiny green began to herd her and another girl closer together. Slowly she shifted where the green wished her keeping her back straight and her chin held high as she moved to stand next to the other girl.
Glancing at the other girl Emora arched a brow at Quindrife. Her and Zofer had been keeping the voices down and being respectful unlike CERTAIN late candidates or ill dressed candidates, or candidates making enough noise to disturb a sleeping wher and the girl chose to jump down there throats? Really?
She was being judged. Hopefully she would not be found wanting. Then of course behind the Shiny green and Murky green it seemed the Regal egg. . .Emora's least favorite was begining to try and make it's show.

Jadros felt bad for the cracking, spiraling ovate egg, but he couldn't do much about it. Whatever fate had in store for the little dragon within was what was going to need to play out before them. He had learned that all things happened for a reason, even if they weren't always nice. Like getting hurt, or making mistakes.
Or losing someone.
He frowned, turning his attention onto the greens, who looked like they were pushing together a couple of girls for closer review. It was quite humorous- would all the dragons be like that, or was it just that plucky green's personality?
Either way, he smiled as his eyes moved to the regal egg. He remembered it had been an... interesting sensation when he had touched it. Hopefully the hatchling inside would be just as amusing once free from its shell.

Mari
The darker green had freed itself from the Ovate egg. She spared a glance at the poor egg, bumping and rolling in the sands. Poor thing. Mari grinned brightly and whispered good luck at Emora as the lighter green started herding her and a other girl closer together. Well, she might not like Emora, but she could wish her to find her partner in one of the little greens.
Was that movement? Yes, it was. The Tropical egg was starting to move.
Skelly
Skelly relaxed slightly. The greens were not being vicious and his sister seemed alright. Perhaps a bit disappointed but she wasn't getting maul. He jerked his head slightly, watching the Tropical egg move, frantically trying to remember. Okay, it was fine... the Tropical egg hadn't been a horrible egg. It had been calmed and it didn't mind the Ovate egg against it.
Ooh, was the egg alright? He focused on the shell of the egg. It wasn't moving though... cracked and batter but not moving.

To Seikih, it seemed that the two greens had chosen the two they wished to pick. Nonetheless, this did not deter her. If the greens wanted them, so be it. She would have a dragon, and they would be the most powerful pair to leave the sands. She needed her perfection. Looking out over the other eggs, she was now curious. What would emerge from the rest? What was next, and which would burst forth? One of these could still be hers...Could still put her in a place where she could learn something new....Become the person she'd wanted to be all this time...

The Tropical Egg shakes and quivers and at last a blue limb emerges partially, only to be withdrawn again and replaced with a tapping. This dragon does not seem to be in a great hurry, but he has definitely decided that he is going to come out, and he is going to come out in the near future. A muzzle thrusts through the eggshell and a green tongue flickers out, tasting the air almost like a snake might. That seems to give the dragon purpose and the rocking becomes more violent and more cracks appear.
And at the same time the light green with the fancywork on her legs stares back and forth between Auri and Emora, apparently ignoring her smaller sister lurking behind her, twitching in whatever direction the larger dragon's head turns as if planning to leap that way. She's waiting to see which one her sister things is superior and then choose that one so that she'll have the best of the best. Inch by inch she is also creeping closer.
At last she gets too close and earns herself a hiss from the lighter green. She snarls back, doing her best to roar. Pretending to be unconcerned, the light green turns back to the pair she's selected and settles between them. Mine, she says firmly and distinctly without indicating which one she means.
No! the tiny dark green cries, vocalizing so that all the Weyr can hear her as she leaps for her sister, who moves quickly out of the way and allows the dark green to crash into Emora.
