Viktor nodded and stood back at ease and said as he walked to the mess hall "Lieutenant would you care to join me in the mess hall they're serving Steak there?" he then stopped and waited for her reply.

Vin Kotam-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank: Fleetmaster/Kaidon of the state of Kotam Side: Nuetral/Arbiter-Human Alliance later in the civil war Appearance: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ================================================== Meanwhile back on Sanghielios Vin was watching the young Sangheili being trained by his grand brother Vom when his old friend Raan came in with a very serious look on his face and said. "Vin, I have just found out that a group of rebel Jiralhanae and some of the Kig Yar have taken a Human ship the humans call UNSC Say My Name. They intend to use it as a weapon against Sanghielios. It also has Forerunner upgrades to the weapon systems we must stop them." Vin nodded taking in what his old friend had said, this did not bode well. If the Human ship was taken over by Jiralhanae then the humans might think that the Sangheili were behind it too. He looked at Raan and said "Ready your ship old friend we are going to liberate that ship and return it to the humans." before Raan could respond, Vin noting the puzzled look on his face said "I know what your thinking, why not take the ship for the Sangheili. To answer your question friend, we have been too reliant on other races for our technology, the Forerunners, the lying San Shyuum and I will not let us start stealing technology from the humans. We Sangheili must stand proud on our own technological achievements. We would also risk war with the humans and they at this point would crush us in battle and turn their own ship into molten slag. I would rather have a grateful ally among the humans then a resentful enemy, it would also show to the Humans that we Sangheili have honor. We will also need to locate the ships crew and assure that no harm comes to them too, A single loss of one Human could also ignite war. Humans are like that. Though I do know some who have honor." He then went and donned his battle armor and grabbed his weapons before heading to his personal Phantom but not before handing his grand brother Vom his plans to ready his keep and the rest of the state of Kotam for war, and said "Brother I am taking a small contingent of our warriors and one of our ships to go liberate a human ship from the Jiralhanae, I leave you in charge in my stead, insure that our state is ready for war." Vom nodded, and quickly went to work as Vin continued to his Phantom dropship. ==================================================

Viktor smiled and said "Yes LT thats the thing about ONI vessels their crews want to eat the best food in the Navy, especially their officers. Lets go get us some dead cow meat." He said as he walked right up to the line and grabbed himself a tray and some silver wear, he then grabbed a plate and, got served a nice meaty steak medium rare with mashed potatoes and gravy and a southwestern chicken salad on the side with chipotle ranch. He then salted and peppered his food and sat down right next to a couple of the engineering crew who looked at him a bit nervously. They knew that Viktor and Tahlvia were ODSTs, and ODSTs had a reputation for being a lot on the crazy side.

Sinclair sat down in his captain's chair and pinched the bridge of his nose with his eyes tightly closed. Curtis appeared through the projector next to him, "Penny for your thoughts?" SInclair didn't even look at him, "Not now Curtis, keep an eye on the other troopers." Curtis was already doing mltiple things at once. Sinclair knew that he could be anywhere at once, if he wanted him to go away, then there is something wrong, "Sir, you can't stay in the past, he's gone... The sergeant reminds you of him doesn't he?" Curtis tilted his head in curiosity. He noticed the commander giving a deep sigh, "Sir, it's been 5 years. Your son was a great trooper, but that shouldn't change how the mission should be done. Hell, you made me to fil up the gap in your chest. But again, it won't change what happened." Sinclair stood up. He put his glasses on and placed his arms behind his back, "How long?" Curtis stayed quiet for a full second, thinking about every fault in human nature, "In about 3 hours... as I mentioned, Forerunner tech can be hard to predict until the huragak gives us the manual on how to work it. If you ask me, these engines feel like they came from Ikea, feels very foreign for now. I'll keep you updated and make sure our guests are cozy for the rest of the ride." Curtis blinked out, leaving Sinclair with the rest of his crew in the bridge.
Curtis appeared next to Viktor and Tahlvia, "Sorry we don't have champagne for you both, but what I can offer is some classical piano music, maybe the highlights from the game on earth, or perhaps some top secret information that could cause you both to be killed and me terminated... I guess I am that bored. How about some further information on the mission while you both enjoy your five star meals?"

Viktor looked at the A.I. and said "What do you think this is, a date Curtis? She is my superior officer, and I am married. Id like my spine where it is, you know my brother in law is a Spartan-II, I am crazy but not suicidal. However you can reveal more about our mission I think we would like to know everything about it." He said as he at his steak. Meanwhile the two Engineers walked out hurriedly as they were afraid of him even more so now after he revealed that one of his family members was a Spartan. "I wonder what my brother in law is doing now, it was weird finding out one day your wife's brother who was long thought dead, was in fact a Spartan and alive and well. Anyway, what is with your creator he is a very odd person? For an ONI Operative he is very secretive yet not so secretive at the same time." he sat there drinking his soda as he stared at the A.I.

Curtis nodded and leaned back like he was sitting on a chair, "Well, where to begin... Ok, so we know that we are heading into the unknown to find a ship that has been lost for some time now. Honestly, I call that a lost cause, but seeing as she has some very sensitive equipment on board, I'd sayshe does deserve to be called the damsel in distress. The UNSC Say My Name is a powerful Halcyon class Cruiser, that is fully outfitted with some of our latest forerunner tech. She is just a test run for a few things. Anyway, what we are after in there is only for ONI to know, but what I can tell you is that it is really big... and really... well I can't really describe it really, but it's going to the Infinity so yeah it is pretty damn important. Anyway, the AI that runs the ship isn't talking since her last call for help. In fact, there was something weird about her last transmission. Normally, transmissions would be sent from the bridge, but her last transmission wasn't from the bridge... hell, didn't sound like it came from the ship at all. As a high level artificial intelligence, I am very curious on what is causing that signal." Curtis straightened himself up and cleared his "throat," "As for the commander... well, he's someone that believes that there is three types of information," Curtis held up his hand and started to count with his fingers, "There is the classifieds, information that only a select few should know; the need to knows, stuff that should only be known to get the job done with no irrelevants; and then there is the dropped out information, this is the stuff that the Commander likes. This is the information that could mean life or death, but at the same time isn't necessary to complete a mission. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll understand in a few years. It's that sort of organization that gave him his recent promotion." He stood up with his arms crossed, his blank head gave a slight tilt, "Any questions?"

Viktor nodded taking in the information and said "Captain Cambridge thought, very much the same way, only she was ruthless. I never did ask is she in prison or dead, because if she is imprisoned Id like to give her a piece of my mind when we get back. Being on this mission has brought up old memories, and her shooting my friend and comrade Ivan and leaving me to die needs to be paid for, ODST way. How long will it take to get to the Say My Name?" Viktor then got up and put his tray into dish collection center and refilled his soda before sitting back down and lighting up a cigarette.

Tahlvia had half of her whole steak hanging out of the side of her mouth when the AI appeared. She chomped off what wasn't already in her mouth and swallowed it damn near whole. "So, we have a ship who suddenly lost contact and is floating aimlessly in space, full of forerunner tech. And we are gonna insert, and recover the entire ship, or are we only responsible for this 'thing' that ONI wants recovered? Because deploying a team of ODST with Navy Pilots is as pointless as putting me at the Helm of a Battle Cruiser." She noticed that top was smoking. "Oooooo that looks delightful" She opened her shoulder pocket flap, and removed a pack of Full Flavor Swiss Cigarettes, and a wind proof lighter. She pulled out a tan and white cylinder, placed to the corner of her mouth and lit while continuing her interrogation of the AI for mission specific details. "Cause if we only need to recover a piece I can blow the object from the hull and we can recover with the cruiser, no need for thorough sweep, just a knock on the door, and leave a hole in the wall." She grabbed her hip flask and poured out the water inside to replace it with sweet tea from the Mess Hall. "And on a completely unrelated note, I could so get used to living on this ship if ONI needs an ODST Combat Engineer, Just sayin."

Curtis looked at the lieutenant with a tilted head, if he ever wnated to have a face, which he never does, it would be frowning, "Well actually Ms. Rishtun, there are a few complications to that plan. As I said, we don't know where the AI is in the ship, and for the fact that one piece will not do. The ship has been listed as no longer holding life support, power, active engines, or artificial gravity. She is literally drifting with no means of defending herself. I think we all know which creek shes going through." Curtis held a hand to the side of his head like he was listening to something. He looked to the sergeant, "And to answer your question, we just arrived to our destination. Oh, the wonders of unknown alien technology at its finest. Now the commander requests that you both get ready and meet at the hanger bay at your convenience. If you excuse me, I need to get ready for the actual mission myself, see ya." Curtis blinked out and began his fragment diagnostics.
Sinclair stood in the bridge as the Pale Horse exited slipspace. It was a rather fast jump, but that helped make things done more quicker. He looked at the still cruiser in the distance and began to give of commands, "Curtis, lower enginge power by 13%, give me deep scans to confirm recent reports. Helm bring us in, heading 42-21-33. Comms, try hailing her, see if there is anyone on board." Crew members began to work on their stations. He heard the comms officer trying to hail the ship, "UNSC Pale Horse to UNSC Say My Name, do you copy over... I repeat, this is UNSC Pale Horse hailing UNSC Say My Name, if there is anyone on board respond." She continued to repeat the message three more times before she turned around and shook her head. Sinclair sighed, he continued to look forward as he called for his second opion, "Curtis," The projector next to him lit up and the AI stood looking at him from the side, "What've you got?" The AI crosse his arms as he gave his report, "Most of it was everything that we guessed, all life boats has been ejected, engine has been cut off, life support offline and comms are out. I tried to contact the AI on all frequencies, even high priority, nothing comes up. Then things get weird..." Sinclair looked at the AI, "What do you mean?" Curtis continued, "I tried to piggyback myself with my last message to see if I can search for her in the ship better, but something was wrong... Sir, it's almost as if the bridge is no longer attached to the ship." SInclair raised and eyebrow, "The bridge is destroyed?" "No Sir, it's still there, but it's disconnected from the rest of the ship, cut off from her own funtions and any signal coming in. AI Hathor mightv'e locked herself inside the bridge to avoid getting captured if she got boarded in her currtent state." "But it doesn't explain what happened to the crew..." "Only one way to find..." "What now?" "Just now, I'm detecting additional ships near by. Sir it's covenant. It seems like a lone scavenger vessel, and scans show that there are two boarding craft attached to the Say My Name."Sinclair let that sink in for a bit, "Elites?" "No, translation software suggests that we have brutes. Looks like we have pirates trying to get in." "How long have they been there?" "Engine coolants on the larger ship suggests that they were here for a few hours. We still have time, as long as they don't get into the bridge, or the engines... or the cargo bay." Sinclair thought for a few seconds and gave out the rest of his demands to his crew, "Activate cloaking barrier, take us in at 8% secondary engine power, cut off primary. Lieutenant Landez, your incharge while we're gone." A young looking crew member nodded with a suprise shock. Sinclair gave a small smirk, "Consult with Curtis if you have any problems. We'll contact you when we get communications back up. The kid nodded and ran back to his station. Sincalir looked back at the AI, "Round up the ODSTs, tell them to get ready. Take anything from the armory that will help in this mission. And prepare a fragment of yourself for this mission as well." The AI nodded and turned off the projector to announce to the troopers that they are ready to begin the mission. Sinclair took the elevator straight to the armory and began to suit up in the gear that Viktor gave him. They fit pretty well, but he decided that the helmet isn't the kind he needs. He went to another locker that was marked under Curtis, a joke he came up with, and opened it to show an ONI Recon helmet. He held the helmet under his arm and made his way to the hanger where he waited for the ODSTs next to the pelican.

Viktor felt the ship slow and headed down to the armory and suited up into his gear, then he grabbed the tactical combat kukri his brother gave him a long time ago and slid it into its sheath on his left side, then he went and grabbed his weapons and the backpack of extra ammo he had prepped earlier and headed down to the shuttle bay, as soon as he got there he pushed the pilot out and said "I can take care of it im a qualified pilot."the pilot looked at him and nodded before leaving "Curtis run pre-flight checks, and tell me what the hell is going on, we have begun now whats going on?" Viktor went up and stowed his gear in the troop bay before walking back into the cockpit and ran through his own check list as he waited for his fellow ODSTs.

She slung an assault pack across her shoulder and grabbed her rifle. She waited at the ramp to the Pelican hurrying the other ODSTs. "Hurry the F*ck up hell jumpers, I got a date and I'm not about to be late because you sorry mother f*ckers can't double time to save your worthless f*ckin lives." She shoved the last Hell Jumper into his seat and swung the locking mechanism down over his chest before sitting in her own seat closest to the ramp. "Top, brief me on the insert plan". She sealed her helmet and ran its on board diagnostics, watching has her HUD filled with information about her vitals and the friend or foe tags of the members of the team.

Curtis spoke in Viktor's helmet, "Engines online, emergency thrusters online, primary weapons online..." Over the voice of Curtis giving the flight check, another version of Curtis spoke over the preflight cheks, "Wow, I really sound boring don't I? Well, thank goodness I have a version of me for this, otherwise I would welcome rampancy to relieve myself from that sucky job. Maybe the guy that has to keep track on who leaves and who stays has it worst...?" Sinclair stood outside of the pelican, placing his special helmet on his head. He spoke to everyone on board, but didn't step on yet, "Everyone, we are about to board the dormant ship, UNSC Say My Name. Recent intel has confirmed that there is no power, no comms, no gravity, and no air inside." Curtis interupted, "So it'll be like fighting in space... if space somehow became really cramped and looked like a dark maze." Sinclair ignored the comment and continued, "Our objective is to board the ship, turn on everything that we can starting with life support. Then we are to secure the bridge, reestablish comms, and take the ship home. However, this wouldn't be a trooper mission if there wasn't anything to shoot. We have recently spotted an ex-covenant frigate on the other side of the ship, with two boarding craft attached to the Say My Name. Curtis has confirmed that there is a small variety inside, but no 'hinge heads,' as most of you call them, inside. Instead, we have Brutes." Sinclair looked to the projector that was close by and walked over to it, still in view of the rest of the ODSTs, "Here is how we are going to take control of the ship while we try to get Hathor back up." A chip popped out of the projector. Sinclair pulled it out and walked over to everyone to show them. Curtis spoke in everyones' helmets, "It's a boy!" Sinclair held up the chip, "This is a fragment of Curtis, he will be our skeleton key to the ship. It is our first priority to find console we can put him in. From there, it should be a cake walk." Sinclair placed the chip in his front pocket and sealed it. Curtis spoke up again, he just loved to be heard, "Don't worry, that fragment of me won't be as awesome as I am." Sinclair stepped into the pelican finally and walked to the copilot seat behind Viktor, "Whenever you are ready Mr. Kravchenko. Start heading to the hanger on her starboard side, we don't want to be seen by those dumb apes yet." The Preflight check Curtis spoke in Viktor's helmet, "All signs read normal, everything is in check. Turning on engines in 3, good luck out there and try not to die... for the commander's sake." The fragment turned off from Viktor's helmet, the engines turned on shortly after as the pelican doors closed

Kill anything not UNSC ma'am." he and Weber then went over their pre flight checks while they waited on the spook " Have any problem with that plan L.T. oh who ya going on a hot date with cant be any of us ugly troopers?" Name: Tahlvia Rishtun Rank 1st Lieutenant Service Branch: Marines "Actually I was talking about another steak at the mess hall. And for this insertion are we entering a docking bay, or breaching? If the Life support systems are down then the flight bays shoulda sealed themselves tight to prevent breathable air from being lost to space. If the engines are down, then power means no remote access to the bays, we'd have to land the Pelican on the hull and in turn breach it, which could be a messy business. Or we can chin gun the Covie vessel and insert through it. Either way we need a plan of access before we can start the party." She pulled up the ship's layout on her datapad, she scanned the lines for an access point to the bridge that wouldn't involve detonating an air tight door. "Hey Curtis, What is this terminal on the aft section of Flight deck 12? Could you use it to access the generators? Or do we have to do a Manual start?"

Viktor was about to say something but Weber beat him to it and said "Lieutenant there are emergency access hatches all along the top of the ship and this pelican is fitted with a docking collar, to access anyone of those hatches. Thats how we get in." The German ODST went back to preforming his pre flight checks and then went to check on his gear while Viktor hit the intercom and said "Okay troopers this is it I know we all would rather be shooting down into the atmosphere of a planet in our drop pods then in this oversized bus but now its time to do what we do best, kill damned dirty apes." Staff Sergeant Cristoph Weber walked back to the co pilots seat after helping Corporal Alexandrovitch store the last minute gear and said "Commander, there is no need for you to take right seat you can stay back in the troop bay if you wish, make last minute prep." The ODST waited for the commanders response as Viktor took the pelican out of the bay and towards the Say My Name.
