His eyes looked over the room, over the rim of his cup as he sat in his seat. He listened, he watched, he nodded when appropriate, but otherwise he remained silent since he had stood and made his piece. Aezeloth - Justice - two sides of the same card as it were - watched those around him, looking for signs of weakness, of faltering. His ambition told him that he could be the best in the room, if he was but willing to do what was required - to cast of the chains of his honor and deal in the darkness, their deals hidden from others in the ever present shadows of this world. But alas - he was Justice - his honor was far to important for that. Still... He watched, waited and debated his next course of action. Should he turn his attention to another? Should he attempt to engage in idle banter? None of these really sung to his heart, so instead, he continued to observe. He was glad to see he wasn't the only one, as his eyes moved over the crowd, meeting the gaze of the The Devil's for a moment - just long enough to acknowledge her presence, to acknowledge her as an equal. After all - they were all in this together - for the glory of the Black Kingdom and the Shadowlord. He raised his cup toward The Devil, and gave her a wry smirk. But other than that, he remained silent - observant. Best to watch, wait and see.

Pixie Nyxie rolled 2 6-sided dice:

Night jumped from his perch and on to the table, shifting back to his larger form, kicking the plates and food off the table. Probably other shades being on the reciving end of flying food before he plopped down and pulled out a pair of bright green NON weighted dice.
Sometimes he had weighted but a fellow Fortune would see right through it.
"High roll wins a secret then!" Treasures would wait. and then rolled his dice.

Jericho would have definitely seen through it. After Night went on and made his roll, he procured his own pair of dice. They too were non weighted. He didn't like to cheat anyway. Shaking the dice, he soon let them spill onto the table. With anticipation, he watched them tumble before coming to a stop.
His two added up to 6. It was enough to just barely beat his fellow Fortune.
"Hah! I have bested you this time, Night. Now. How about that secret?" he grinned.

The others were beginning to break off into groups, conversing and playing games. Maple stayed where she was with her hood drawn close around her face, unsure of what she should be doing. Their lord was being awfully quiet but part of her wondered if there was some reason behind it. Was this a test of some sort, maybe? She wasn't sure, or if she was just trying to think of reasons not to go talk to the others. Not like it would go well anyways, nothing went well; it was another flip side of The Tower after all, failure.
She looked on with worried eyes, gently resting a dark hand upon the muzzle of her large Shade companion. Just watching the others and contemplating.

"I know where the king keeps a very valuable artifact, but it'll cost you two more wins to find out where..." The cat smiled, "Its a shiny artifact too..."
Fortune liked shinies.

That got Jericho's attention. It got his attention good. Though, he cursed as Night held out on giving more details. Of course. Grabbing his dice, he rolled once more. And his eyes seemed to light up as he saw the results of his pair against the shadow cat.
"Fortune smiles upon me today!" he boasted before leaning over, eager to hear what he had to say, "Now. Tell me more."

Fortune did have a fickle way of playing with the black cat. One day would be a streak of wins, another a steak of losses. Today on the day of tributes, it seemed that it would be a streak of losses. Hmmm.
He leaned in so the other shades couldn't hear him, grinning. "The artifact use to belong to the former king, in fact it use to be on his persons at all time. Something he won from another kingdom..." Night's tail flicked as he picked up the dice again. "I wonder where it is?~ Will luck let you know Jericho?"

Jericho listened very intently, though snarled as Night held back some more key information. Immediately, he rolled against the feline for the third time. He must know more!
And sure enough, fate smiled upon him once more.
"So where is this artifact then?" he asked.

Night hissed as the dragon rolled higher then him again before his ears flattened. Annoyance played on his features at losing thrice in a row.
"It's hidden in plain sight of us, but we cannot see it unless we are honored by the king." he waited a beat, "The artifact seemed to hold a great deal of power and to seal it away, our king designed it to hide among the shadows..." But Jericho was going to have to keep winning to know even more. It was funny just how much Night knew about the artifact but with the common whispers of shades to go on, he had once even held it.
And because If Night really wanted to reveal, he would tell him just how to bend those shadows to see it. In fact, if Jericho looked closely...shadows shifted a bit as if they knew they talked about them and a gleam of some kind of shine, much brighter to their world faded in and out before disappearing.
Like it was playing the game with them.

Ah yes. Of course. It all made sense. It would be like the king to hide something in plain sight. In the shadows that they all cherished. He took this all in, feeling his curiosity prodded even further. A great artifact of immense power. One that had come from another Kingdom. Another King.
It held a great deal of mystique.
Oh. Was that a glimmer he had just seen now? He wasn't paying too close attention. No. Instead he just rolled once again.
Though, he soon growled as he was denied further knowledge. Feeling a spark of rage, he soon quelled it and settled back down. Fine. It was his turn to give up a secret.
"There supposedly is a certain group among us, working on a new method of telling fortunes. A way that can be done without the need of a teller, and yet just as accurate, if not more so," he said, sounding a little bored.

Night's tail flicked with curiousity. A group who used the non traditional ways of fortune? What would that entail, a new type of reading like that could be harmful to shades....or super fun and bring a new change to the style.
"Care to elaborate my old friend?"

Pain. That's what it was. The sensation raced up his arm, into his brain, and then to the rest of his beaten body. The panicked and fear-striken screams of people he once saw everyday echoed in the back of his mind - no, into the darkness. The Silver Kingdom is gone. The tower had fallen and the people... the people are now spirited away to the other kingdoms of this world. The collapsing tower caused his arm to be bummed. The panicked citizens tripped him and beat him up a bit. With a groan, Uru pushed himself over to his belly, opening his heterochromatic eyes one at a time, blinking into the darkness. Must be night. With a push, he was up on his feet, cradling his bummed arm.
Looking around, he noticed that it wasn't just night... it was dark. Everything was dark. Features were hard to notice, but he double glanced at everything he looked at. Were they changing? No, impossible buildings and streets can't change... His head must have taken a hint after the escape. Perhaps it was best to take things slow and gather his bearings.
The streets appeared empty, not a soul about that he saw. It was a law in the Silver Kingdom that all citizens of the Silver Kingdom must adhere to all laws of any other kingdom upon entering. But what rules do they have here?... He didn't even know what the people here looked like. Uru gave a sharp groan as pain coursed through his body again, backing him into a wall, closing his eyes tight hoping it his body will acclimate. With an exhale, he determine his next course of action. The Silver Kingdom sent members to others as a neutral party as able bodies for the kingdom. That was why he was here, right?... but... he had said Blue Kingdom to the scribe... the chaos was indeed chaotic. But what will he do here? Blue was the only kingdom he knew a lick about. Though, things can't get worse...
Looking at his arm, he gritted through the pain and tried to will himself through it as he continued on his exploration. Ears alert for sounds, yet none came in this darkness. His tail flicked erratically behind him, doing its best to keep himself balanced. Perhaps this kingdom, too is gone. Quote: OOC - he's not in the room, he is outside as a newcomer to the kingdom.

Jericho waited to roll first. When he defeated the cat, he just gave a rather toothy grin.
"That will have to wait. So then. Tell me more of this artifact."

Night's eyes narrowed as he picked up the dice and studied them. Did he let the other fortunes magic effect them and not know it? Or was lady luck on a hater streak with him? He wondered briefly before shrugging, that cat grin replacing the frown instantly.
"I can do more then tell you about it, words and stories after all are just that my friend." He held up his hand as it disappeared, smoky shafts of black replacing it before surrounding his hand.
Focus became the forefront of his mind as he pulled and hissed at the burn when his hand reformed holding a midsize box. Big enough to hold a artifact even. It was of a golden hue, shadows lifting all around and seemed to..pulse with some kind of life.
The locking mechanism though...it would forever haunt the black cat as the one he could never open. His tail flicked behind him.
"Lo and behold Jericho. The box that holds the artifact of king past. It's a shame though that the lock is so damn difficult~"

Jericho focused in on Night's hand as he pulled something from the shadows. A box. A decently sized one that was golden in color. Its bright hue stood out vastly against most things in the area and he couldn't help but be completely fixated with it. There was certainly something special inside of the box.
"So you have not been able to open it then?" he asked, still staring at the object.
He wanted to know badly just what was inside.
