The gypsy made a disparaging noise. "Easier said than done." Still, one man in particular did spring to mind: the one who took her rudimentary skills and trained her and Oberon to fight as a team. Of course, Macaire would certainly protest. He saw himself as a warrior and a teacher, but not a leader among men. Unfortunately, Rajani was inclined to agree. He was a good man and a evil, sadistic, effective teacher, but he was not going to inspire legions of reluctant Chosen. All might not be lost, however. He was bound to know people that she had not met. Perhaps he might have someone in mind who could fit the description.

This all hinged on whether Soibhan's idea had merit, of course, but as Raj did not have any better ideas, she was open to suggestions. Even from her irritating stage-guest.

Rajani gave her half a chuckle. "I don't like any of it, but look where I am," she said, waving a hand airily around.

"You are on the edge of an abyss opening beneath your feet. Even a terrible plan is better than no plan at all," Soibhan murmured, smiling tiredly.

She stared long and hard at the massive stag curled up before the fire, looking for all the world like a contented house cat. Some instinct told her that a good majority of these Guardians were not ready for this--well, war seemed to be the best term for it-- and that they would have a hard time molding them into a cohesive unit.

But it was a goal of sorts. Having goals led to battle plans led to action.

A laugh bubbled up and burst from her lips. How had she gone from escaping her kidnappers to excited war organizer in the span of a night?

"If you have such a person in mind, try and contact them. If nothing else, they will say no, and we will know that we need a different plan."

It was difficult to argue with that kind of logic, such as it was. Then again, a bad plan could backfire miserably and get all of them killed, thus ruining their chances and damning Sunderland to the rule of the wolves...yeah. Charming thought, that. Something else was bothering her, however.

"What's in it for you?" she asked. "You are not of these lands and have only just arrived. You have no Guardian of your own or any reason to care about what happens here. Why do you care about the outcome of our little war?"

The gypsy might have grown to feel certain obligations toward the country and its people. If not for Oberon, she would probably have taken that sea-fareing trip to the mainland that she had long been promising herself as soon as the wolves had first appeared. But the Gaelic woman? She had no vested interest.

Soibhan found herself only a little unnerved that Rajani seemed to have followed her own train of thought. She pondered the gypsy's question long and hard, sitting in silence as the fire crackled pleasantly in the hearth. It was a gamble whether or not Rajani would think her crazy or foolish based on her answer.

Finally, she shrugged. "I want to help. This isn't my country, nor my people, but I can't just turn my back and go home and pretend like nothing is happening here. Even if I did go home, I would be doing nothing." She paused, looking up into the singer's eyes. "My people are warriors, but I was born in a time of relative peace. I've heard all of the stories from my father of his battles, and...It's in my blood. I want to fight. To protect, defend." She shrugged again, at a loss for any other words on the why. Would Rajani understand? Even if she didn't, would Soibhan's answer be accepted anyway?

It was an admittedly foreign concept to the gypsy. Wanting to fight for and defend complete strangers just because she felt a calling? It made no sense to her. Sure, once in a while she might stoop to helping someone or another for her own purposes - was that not how she had met this strange woman in the first place? But to want to do that all of the time? It was difficult to fathom.

Still, she could not really cast stones. After all, the way events were shaping up... No. That was not it at all. It was the way that she was reacting to the wolves and Guardians. It would be so easy to say that she was simply going along with things - gathering information for the spymaster, learning how to fight wolves, receiving training for Oberon, venturing into dangerous territory for the sake of learning about the enemy - but it would be a lie. No one was forcing her to do these things. It was of her own volition. She was preparing for war because she felt an obligation as a Chosen to the country that she had come to love.

All things considered, it should only take a slightly better person than her to feel a similar obligation to a foreign nation.

She shrugged. "It's your life."

Nodding, Soibhan stretched in the chair, realizing just how tired she she felt. Her brain wouldn't allow her to sleep, however. She knew that before she even had to try. Getting to her feet, the gaelic woman nodded once.

"I need to walk and to think. Do you mind if we meet again in a few days?" she asked, grabbing her violin case from the floor. "Maybe on stage again," she added quickly. Playing with Rajani on stage had been something she didn't even realize she'd craved until it had happened, and she wanted to feel that particular satisfaction again.

She would need to find a place to stay, or make some coin playing in the streets. It wasn't something that sounded particularly appealing, but at this point, she would do what she had to.

Turning to Oberon, she gave a slight bow, wondering if Guardian's could speak. She still had so many questions, but needed to order her thoughts before she would ask them.

"Very well," she found herself agreeing without even knowing why. How quickly she had gone from thinking of the Gaelic woman as an irritating interloper to a potentially ally. No matter how much she might like to, the gypsy could not even deny that she had rather enjoyed their time on stage together. It had been a long time since she had last performed with another, let alone one whose music felt so much like home.

"I'm sure it will not be too difficult to find me." Not when she was on stage, at the least. Northport might be lush with taverns and pubs, but it was not prideful boasting to say that her performances were always noted.

Oberon gave the woman a slight nod in return.

"No doubt it won't," she said.

Smiling faintly, Soibhan turned on her heel and left the way she had come.
