Coconut noted the mare's distracted air - well that she kept looking towards the woods and wondered if she was thinking of leaving him. He hoped not, but if she had elsewhere, or something else to do, he really couldn't do much to prevent her going.
He acted as normal though and said; 'Well, maybe you'll just have to stick around in case I decide to go a-wandering into the woods.' he chuckled a little.
'You wouldn't want me to have to talk to the trees would you? 'Cause I will, if that's all I can see to speak to.'

Staccato glanced back at him, idly wondering if his comment meant he noticed she seemed a bit distracted.
"Sorry. I suppose I will have to stay then. Can't have some poor stallion wandering off and getting lost with only the trees for company, now can we?" She chuckled to herself, slowly moving back over to the river for a drink.
"Plus...it's nice being out in the open like this. I just have to wonder about who or what is getting tricked in there sometimes...or how mother is doing while I'm away from home. I'm sure she's fine...."

'Yes, yes, that would be very bad. I might be lost forever and ever and ever and..' the stallion took a breath, and chuckled.
'Well, you might never see me again..or I might never see you again and I wouldn't like that.' Coconut certainly didn't want to lose the first friend he'd ever actually managed to make, and was happy that she said she would stick around, for however long that would be.
'Do you look after your mother then?' he asked. The stallion occasionally wondered why he had never known his mother, but figured there had to be a good reason - he just didn't know what that was!

"No, no mother still takes care of herself. I just never bothered to leave the safety of the forest and find somewhere else to live. Not worth it to me, always having to watch over your shoulder....I suppose that's also part of the reason I keep looking back. To bolt, if I have to." She said, focusing her attention on him once more. "But so far, there's no danger here. Just a sometimes confused, lonely, silly, sweet stallion and me."
Staccato couldn't help but smile a bit, feeling much more relaxed around the odd stallion. She already knew he was a good soul, not a bad bone in him anywhere. Though many could say the same about her, she would still come off as semi-cold and un-talkative in social gatherings...or just around her family and groups in general. Her smile turned to a slight frown at that thought. With the way others knew her, being around them with Coconut would be slightly difficult...it was hard to put up a happy front when one felt vulnerable and open to teasing and being hurt by others like that.

'Look over your shoulder?' Coconut didn't really have much concept of danger, or needing to be particularly wary. But he was a pretty sturdily built stallion, and could possibly talk his way out of most things.
'No, no danger.' he said, and tilted his head at the pretty little flumblebee. 'A stallion? Who's that then?' He actually took a moment to look around and then it struck him that she might just have been talking about him!
'I'm sweet?' he said, with a bashful smile, showing a knack for hooking the positive out of what she'd just said about him.
'So you'll always live in the forest?' he asked, making sure he would know where to find his new found friend, totally oblivious to all the questions he'd just asked.

"There's always rumors of danger in the area...word of the occasional Kalona passing through. Even heard about some skinwalkers, but I can't confirm that." she said, shrugging if she really could. "Yes, you're the stallion. Despite everything, ya are very sweet, y'anno?" She said, giving him another smile, glad she was so comfortable now.
"Yeah, I'll always be in the forest unless someone could convince me to leave...who knows."

'I don't really hear any rumours, but then I don't listen often. Talk, but not much listening.' Coconut chuckled. The names she spoke were all foreign to him though. Kalona, Skinwalker?
'Are those two you mentioned really that bad? That I should look out for?' he asked. 'Oh good. I'm at least sweet, even if I am everything else as well. What's the everything else?' He wondered if being sweet was enough for her to stick around. He would attempt to continue to be so if it was what she liked about him.
'Would you want to leave though? I mean, someone could come live with you, y'know, if you liked them enough.' he gave the ground a little kick.

Staccato sighed softly to herself, wondering just how much he was going to have to learn in the end. So far it seemed like everything, but he had apparently gotten through life okay so far, so perhaps it wouldn't be so bad.
"Kalona are...well they 'ave big leathery wings and sharp teeth and strange, thin...weird lookin' tails. They can fly and while I hear some are nice....others aren't. An' Skinwalkers are...never nice. They'll kill ya if ya get too close to one. They have animal furs on their back, or so I hear anyway." She said, scuffing her own hoof against the ground. She really had never personally seen either, just heard of them from her mother.
"I don't know if I want ta leave...but if circumstances are right, I could." She said, glancing down at the ground. "I suppose anyone that wanted could stay with me here, if he felt he liked it enough."

Coconut listened quietly as she spoke, taking in her words properly as he felt that they were serious enough to warrant his actual full attention, and not for him to drift away thinking of what he wanted to say next. He filed away the description of both.
'Thank you.' he said softly, and gave her a little bump with his nose against her shoulder.
'Your patience in telling me all this is so much appreciated. I know I must seem like I know nothing, but I know enough to be thankful I met you.' he broke out in a grin, and then spoke again, shyer now as it was another pretty big thing to speak about.
'..Can I stay with you Staccato?' He looked rather like a puppy as he said it, and one could imagine him wagging his tail. He meant the words though, as he was fast becoming quite attached to his pretty flumblebee friend.

Staccato blinked and looked up at him as he spoke and nudged her gently. She flushed slightly and began to feel quite warm under her coat. She stayed silent for a while, buzzing her wings slightly in a vain attempt to cool her body temperature before nodding to him.
"Yer welcome, Coconut. Ya may not know things, but a lot is super easy to learn. I mean, I get by okay when I'm out alone...so I'm sure you'll do just fine learnin' all sorts of things now." She said, bumping him with her own nose in return. She raised an eyebrow at his next question and thought about it as well.
"There's no where else ya'd rather be? Or go? Nowhere in tha world?" She asked, honestly curious as to why one would want to stay so cooped up in a forest with her at all. "...of course you can stay. No one will mind I'm sure, and the animals that sometimes show up will love you."

The stallion watched as the little mare buzzed her wings for a short while, curious as to why she was doing that all of a sudden, but managing to bite down on the inevitable question.
'I will learn really fast with such a wonderful teacher.' Coconut said, beaming as she nudged him back with her own nose. It made him want to give her some sort of big, squeezy embrace, but he was afraid of hurting her, or annoying her.
'No. I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be.' he said, with a shake of his head. He didn't know of his families whereabouts, and he'd much rather be with Staccato. He wanted to get to know her so much more, and he wanted to know if she liked him, or would like him as more than a friend. And he know too if he felt the same way.
'I hope you will like me being around as well.' he said, giving her the puppy look again.

"I'm sure I won't mind havin' yah around." She laughed a bit, slowing the buzzing of her wings as her body temperature slowly came back down. Her mind was racing regardless of the situation, making it harder to focus on the conversation at hand. She was hating this feeling, having never really been exposed to it, and beginning to feel quite sure it was a good thing.
"Well...if yah don't have anywhere else ta go, anyway...like I said, I won't mind and mom shouldn't bother much." She smiled and turned to start back towards the forest.
"I like yer company. There's somethin' about yah....something nice that I've never felt about someone before."

'I'm very happy, you make me a happy stallion.' Coconut said, unaware of the mares state of mind. He would likely be amazed that she was lost in thoughts, as he was simply glad to have met her, and gladder still that was allowing him to stick with her.
'Nope, I'm all yours.' he said, grinning and following the mare. He had a small thought towards what it would be like in the forest, and how it would be to meet her mother (if that did happen), but mostly he was just in a bouncy state at what a great day it had been. He'd made a friend. A beautiful and clever friend, who put up with his questions and nonsense.
'Oh?' he asked, his head canting to one side. 'Something nice? What do you feel?'
She felt something nice for him! And there was he thinking that he couldn't feel lighter on his hooves than he already did.

Staccato paused and contorted her face in thought. How could she really explain it, having never felt this way before?
She looked back at him once more and made a motion to follow her while she thought more on the lovely feeling inside. "It's like...well...I'm happy? I've never felt this way toward someone before, just like I've never really talked to another like yah before." She huffed to herself and looked at the ground as they headed towards the forest.
"Like...well I'd assume it's how my brother feels about his mate. Maybe? Happy. Comfortable. At peace...even if my mind is racin' a million miles a minute. Y'anno?" She asked, tilting her head towards him curiously.

Coconut didn't really need the indication to follow Staccato, he really rather be nowhere else and he didn't want to get lost, so he would be right behind his flumblebee wherever she led him.
Happy? Well that was good wasn't it? He hadn't really looked in depth as to what he was feeling for the mare as he had the worrying feeling that if he examined it too much he might wonder why she liked him at all, given his nature. And his naivety.
His jaw fell open though when he heard her compare her feelings to how her brother felt about his mate. Was that, did she? His mind asked the questions that for once his mouth couldn't articulate but eventually he managed to form some sort of a sentence.
'I..well..umm I don't know, you're the first I mean, only I like so I don't know, but I know I reallyreallyreallyreally like you.' he said, figuring he sounded like a bumbling fool then but she already knew he was silly, so he hoped she would forgive his ramblings
