Rep was sliding from happy to vaguely murderous as Candace joined their group and instantly honed in on the blush he'd been hoping people would have the good grace not to point out. Clearly it wasn't as subtle as he was hoping and it only got worse the more he thought about it.
He was not expecting Melvin to say what he did, and he went from irritation to freezing in his tracks looking absolutely mortified at the comment on his glasses.
"Whit? N..Naw. They're no.." words abandoned him completely as he scrabbled for a scathing comeback.
Jordan didn't help, just made him one hundred percent more deer in the headlights.
He gave up.
There was a thump as he flopped his face to the table top.
"Ye are aw a shower of wankers."

"They really accentuate his eyes," Jordan said calmly. He snagged a bottle and cup and poured himself a Coke, adding some rum to it. "That's how you know we like you," he told Rep, and sipped the drink. Good, it didn't taste like he'd overdone the alcoholic part.

Cue one entrance from a confused Leon carrying a couple of kegs of beer. But no means was it an easy feat to buy and bring, but with the way the outside world was for its yearly celebration, walking down the street with the ale seemed well admired in the public, at least to those hoping to raid the celebration they were heading to.
A few quick turns down an alley and a pendant to port one out fixed the trail of alcoholics right quick.
"Beer here."
Understatement of the year.
He didn't want to ask what the hell Melvin was doing to the red haired imbecile.

"His eyes are sleeping on the couch." Rep grunted huffily, sitting up again and grabbing his drink, still feeling like he was burning up.

Melvin leaned back, took out his phone, and snapped a picture. It was nice to make memories.
Score 1 for Melvin.
Pocketing his phone, he took another drink before looking away. "Hello Candance." He also noticed Jerry lingering further off. "Are you still upset about your guitar? I thought any music would be fine with you."

Candace tried not to grin too much at the way Rep was reacting to everything. "Something tells me Jordan is holding back how he feels about Rep wearing glasses." Could it be how insistent he was on twitter about it? Or the restrained calmness he'd had when Harrison had worn them? "It's like the little boys who punch the girls on the playground when they have a crush on them."
Candace looked up when she heard Leon arrive with beer.
Kegs of beer.
Jesus.
"Hello, Melvin.." Candace mumbled distractedly as she just stared at Leon. He was carrying them like they were nothing. She grabbed a cup to pour herself some soda, wanting to have something non-alcoholic for now to just enjoy the gathering. "Having fun making Rep's life miserable and embarrassing?" She finally turned back to the blonde with a smile.

Jordan angled one expressive eyebrow at Candace and said nothing, though a tiny smile played around the corners of his mouth.

Candace felt eyes on her and turned, giving Jordan the most innocent of looks. "Yes, Jordan~?"

Rep was somewhere beyond uncomfortable as Candace continued the discussion even after Melvin seemed to turn his attention elsewhere. He finally had his fill and outright got up from where he was sitting to put some space between himself and the conversations going on. He wasn't in a bad mood the way he so often was, he had just reached his threshold of conversations he wasn't going to touch with a barge pole and needed to get the ridiculous blush under control. He overheard the call to a toast but pretended he didn't, he needed a minute first.
He headed over to the drinks and picked up various bottles just to investigate their contents rather than actually choosing anything.

Her expression softened into a small smile as Candace nodded, raising her cup as well. "To new friends, too."

"Go ahead and put the kegs over there," Harrison gestured, grinning at the barrels. He'd stayed by the drinks and made a tactical decision to say exactly zero on the subject of glasses.
The toast got a smile out of him, though, even while Rep wandered over to poke around the other bottles.
He shuffled one of the hands he was using to lean against the table with to rest on top of Rep's hand, then turned it over, thumbing the knuckles and lingering on his ring finger fondly.
He lifted his bottle towards the two.

Rep for a moment almost thought he'd managed to get away, that he could find somewhere quiet to hang out and avoid the kind of comments and discussions that made him red to his ears, but he'd forgotten to factor in Harrison overseeing drinks distribution, and while he was distractedly eyeing a bottle of Jack Daniels found his hand stolen.
He'd just gotten rid of the ridiculous embarrassed shy feelings but they came back tenfold as he gave Harrison a smile he couldn't help, acutely aware of other people in the room but too appreciative of the subtle gesture to reject it in any way.

Melvin smiled at Candance. "I don't make his life miserable. I think I make it better." He said, and when the call to toast was given, he raised his glass. Oh yes, he was a very good friend. Why not toast to this?
