He wobbled at the sudden hug, wiping the steam from his glasses as he swallowed, "That's ah... assuring to hear," He managed in regards to the eclectic amount of wagers the Lifers were up to. "Um... yeah I figure... if I might die any day now, I might as well smell better when I do." At that, Candace got a wide cocky grin.

That grin! It..it was so different from his usual! Candace clapped her hands and gave a tiny squeal of excitement. "That's the Jerry I know and love! Ohhh, I'm so happy you're feeling better. Really, I mean it." Candace was grinning from ear to ear. "I'd offer a toast to this if we had anything to do it with."

"Don't tempt me. Ahaha." He wiped his glasses again before removing them again if only to rest his eyes. "It's... a pretty stressful job occupation we have. I think I just..." His blind eyes narrowed, latched on a distant square of fuzzy light he remembered being a window on the other side of the pool. "I think I kind of... passed through snapping and into this sort of... other side of crazy. Ahahaha. I don't know but... I feel alright. About it all. It's working, whatever it is. The piano helped." The smile remained, at least.

"I like tempting~." Candace said with a teasing purr and a laugh, relaxing again with a little sigh shortly after and closing her eyes. She let herself sink into the water again until just her head was above the surface, her head resting against the edge of the tub. "Very stressful, yeah. So you're saying you're beyond crazy? Then I'm really glad the piano helped. I tried to find one that was as piano-looking as possible."

"Do you think this place has changed you?" He felt like he had asked her before, but his mind was still stuck on a certain train of thought.

There was no hesitation in Candace's answer. "Undoubtedly. Everyone changes here after awhile. Some for better, some for worse. Some subtly and some...radically.." She made a slight face at that before she opened her eyes and gave Jerry a curious look. "Why?"

The Sun Hunter fell quiet, running a finger along one of his fresher scars thoughtfully, "I hadn't stammered like this past year since I was a little kid. I mean... not like normal stuttering, I mean... They thought it was.. you know. Motor skill related. I guess it's psychological. Although I used to black out completely, so it's sort of a step up from that, I suppose." He gave a sigh, "I miss Frances."

Yes, he had come a long way from disassociating. It was progress, good progress. "Well you only ever stammer under stress from what I can remember...makes sense..is that something you're going to work on or something? Figuring out the reasoning behind it and all that?" Not that she was saying he had to, just if he wanted to he probably could work on it. Candace had to stop and think about who Frances was. Frances, Frances...
Oh. That had been the name on Killzone's marker.
Candace frowned, moving an arm around Jerry's shoulders in a gentle hug. "I'm sorry, Jerry."

"It's just... the danger of our profession," He smiled weakly at the hug, heartbeat racing. "I don't know, maybe... just trying to... glue the pieces together as best I can before I fall apart again, ahahaha..."

"...Yeah..true." Candace frowned. Every time she saw or heard of a hunter's death it was a very strong reminder of just how mortal she was. Atropos always reminded her she would never let her die but everyone's weapons probably told them that. "Don't think like that~. Don't have it in your head you're going to fall apart."
Candace sighed and put her head on Jerry's shoulder. "No more sad stuff. Hot tubs are for relaxing not sad story time." It wasn't that she wasn't concerned. No, Candace loved Jerry dearly, she just wanted to encourage happy thoughts!

"How about the fact we have a hot tub to relax IN?" He laughed weakly, giving her a splash.

Candace squeaked as he splashed at her, her hair getting wetter than she wanted. "Oh you did not just..!" Her vengeance came in the form of attempting to dunk the man underwater.

It was unclear if the resounding noise that came from the man was somewhere between a laugh and a terrified gurgle as his lungs were suddenly filled with hot water. Jerry was not a strong swimmer. Even in hot tubs.

Candace hadn't held Jerry underwater. She'd shoved him and then waited for him to come up.
And waited..
...Son of a b***h you had to be kidding.
She reached under and grabbed Jerry's arms, pulling the man up to the surface again. "Jerry? Are you okay?"
Seriously?!

His hands flailed in the air a moment before his head surfaced with a choking gasp, water sputtered everywhere as he coughed frantically.
"Fine!" He squeaked. "M'fine!"
