He gave her a soft smile. “No it’s not silly at all. I think it’s a sad heart that never wonders if it’ll find it’s other half. I know that I am very lucky to find Guinevere Sue. I can’t tell you from the tip of my tongue if she’s the perfect one for me, but I know she is the mother of my children and is important to me so I will honor and care for her as long as she will let me.” Eri’s tail swished and he thought over his next words before he let them loose. “You are a lovely mare and I have no doubt you will find someone who loves you and will care for you. Perhaps it will be a relationship in which love may not be evident at first, or one in which love grows with time, but I wish you the luck to find the kind of relationship where you look at the other Azrein and find them attractive and want to be near them. The kind of bond that lasts and only grows stronger.”

Ni'awtu smiled in gratitude, appreciating him saying such nice things about her. She was glad he had found someone special for him and hopefully she would be just as lucky one day.
"Yes, perhaps you are right, maybe I will run into the lucky stallion one of these days. For now, I suppose all I can do is be there for my family and their mates. I really should not allow myself to dwell on what I do not have and appreciate what I do,"Ni spoke.

He could only hope that she found a mate who she was 100% certain was for her. There were times Eri was uncertain if Guinevere Sue was for him, and that caused Eri to doubt himself, but he would never abandon her since she was the mother of his foals.
“Dwelling is no good but make sure you keep an open mind and open eye. Or else you’ll end up missing something that could change your life entirely.” He moved closer and gently nudged her with his shoulder. “Also smile a bit. You look much better when you do. I promise you any stallion would drool over you with a smile like yours Miss.”

Ni'awtu tried to not blush at his words, continuing down the path that led home. She supposed she could smile more, but sometimes she felt a little like life had it in for her. She had lost her father before she was even born and her her homeland was at war.
"I suppose I could try, but it is so hard for me to find the sun through all the clouds sometimes. I never got to meet my father, well, not when he was among the living anyway. I have to live in a world where I have to have my guard up or I could end up like my father. I guess I feel the weight of the world on my back,"Ni admitted.

“You may never had met your father, but I am certain he would be proud of you. Not only that but you still have your mother and she isn’t sad. There is a sun there. “ He thought a bit more. “Yes the world is not as kind as it once was, but still you don’t need to have your guard up all the time. In the midst of the family and ones you love you needed pretend to be made of stone. Let others help you bear the world on your back. It won’t crush you that way.” He wished he could help her bear her burden. Eri hated to see suffering; especially in one as kind as she was to him. It occurred to him that he hadn’t given her his name. “Eri.” He announced without thinking.

Ni'awtu thought the stallion was being very kind and she appreciated him being nice to her.
"Well, I did get to meet him briefly, at least his spirit. Yes, he probably would be proud of us and Mama is very happy now. I know she cries here and there when she thinks we won't hear her, but she is a lot happier. I just do not want anyone to have to carry my burden, least not my family when they have enough of their own. Nice to meet you Eri, I am Ni'awtu,"Ni introduced herself.

Well he thought her name was very pretty and wanted to compliment her on it there were other thoughts in his mind. “Ni’awtu stop and face me.” Eri stood still and indicated the spot directly across from him. He then waited patiently for her to stand there. This mare needed to find a way to unburden herself. Eri knew how hard it was to shoulder doubt and pain alone. There were times he wished he could share it himself so he wanted to try and unburden this mare just a bit if he could.

Ni'awtu had a confused look in her eyes, wondering what Eri had in mind with his instructions to her. She walked over to the spot he indicated and stood in front of him, her eyes looking in his direction.
"Alright, I am exactly where you told me to be, but I do not see the point in this. Do you have something in mind, Eri?"Ni asked. She was feeling a little nervous, not knowing what he was doing.

He placed his chin on top of her nose and pushed down slightly. “Do you feel this? This is the weight of some troubles bothering ever now and then.” He pushed down harder knowing that it was much harder to keep your head up when it was being pushed down on than it was to pull one’s head toward one’s neck making a downward pressure. He didn’t stop pushing until she moved or gave way under the pressure.Next would come the more interesting part to explain.

Ni'awtu blushed slightly when he placed her chin over her nose, then she focused on what she was doing. She felt the pressure and tried to keep her head straight as best as she could. Unfortunately she could not and her head bent down to look at the ground.
"Okay, still clueless, but guess I just have to be patient,"Ni spoke, waiting to see what would happen next.

“Well it would certainly help me explain if you were.” He grinned. “Now hold your head up again. Remember all that pressure bearing down? Do you think it could be held up if the situation was more like this?” He placed his maw under hers and gave a gentle pressure up. Not enough to move her head, but enough to know that there was someone else there supporting her. “Now image not just one but many others helping hold your head up. Is it really such a burden if everyone gives a little?” He smiled at her. “In fact in doing so other’s may find the strength to help deal with their own burdens which like you they were unwilling to share. Do you understand what I’m trying to say?”

Ni'awtu lifted her head up like he suggested, then felt him push her head. She listened to his words and had a thoughtful look in her eyes, thinking he may have a good point.
"Hmmm, I suppose I never really thought of it like that, Eri. You are right, with so many people, they would only have to use a little energy. Plus, people might be more willing to allow me to help them unload too. Thank you, Eri, that was a big help,"Ni smiled.

He nodded to her smiling. She had it just right. He supposed it was a lesson that he needed to take to heart as well but he had rattled her ear off enough earlier so he just smiled and nudged her gently with his nose before backing up to give her some space. “Just so Miss Ni’awtu. I’ll be willing to follow you back to your mother now. I promise I won’t stop you again unless it’s important.”

Ni'awtu nodded her head, starting off in the direction of her family's stable once more. She wondered if she could find someone as kind as Eri, knowing she needed to. He had a mate and she would never take him away from someone he was meant for.
"So what is it like to have a lifemate?"Ni asked. She was curious, knowing how her family acted around their own lifemates.

Eri nearly tripped over his own hooves at that. “A lifemate?” Of all the follow up questions to their conversation that was not one that was even remotely a possibility. He really didn’t have an answer for her and while he didn’t want to disappoint her he couldn’t just lie. “I have no idea.” Eri loved the mother of his children but he still felt tempted when he saw a pretty mare like Ni’awtu, more than that he and Guinevere Sue had never pledged themselves to one another. There was a time they could have, and a part of him wished they had, but it was nothing more than a daydream to smile over. He really didn’t know what it was like to have a lifemate.
(*laughed when I read your post. Eri's muse just went @.@ wtf?)
