Michael Callaway Michael shrugged. "I've heard of the guy; apparently when he was in training and doing ride-alongs with experienced police like you, he was rather.... overzealous with his methods of dealing with criminals, meaning he put a few in the hospital. I heard that one guy that ran from him after a burglary ended up in the hospital with three cracked ribs and a moderate concussion," he said with a slight gruff tone to his voice.
"You look like you're about to pass out. I'd guess the last time you went to sleep for longer than three or four hours was probably two and a half weeks ago, eh?" he said dryly, cocking an eyebrow as he noticed the slight dark circles under Rebecca's eyes.

"Ah, one of those." Rebecca said with a small nod. She had dealt with several rookies like that before she became a PI. Obviously the guy had moved on to bigger and not so better things. She looked to Michael, eyebrow raised as he commented on how tired she looked. "You'd be right in that guess." Rebecca said with a small shrug. "The hazards of the job." Her gaze went back to the dead guy in her living room. "I have to take care of this first before I can even think about going to sleep."

Michael Callaway Michael cocked an eyebrow. "I'll handle it, don' worry 'bout it," he said gruffly, Logan's voice becoming stronger as he spoke. "The reason I can tell how long it's been since you had a good night's sleep.... I've been there," he said simply.OOC:

Rebecca watched him silently for a moment. She was grateful for the offer of help. It had been too long since anyone had offered any kind of help. Well anyone aside from her parents. "Thank you, Michael," she said softly as she turned to go to her bedroom. She looked over her shoulder at him. "There is a spare bedroom just down the hall and on the left." She said with a small smile. "You are more than welcome to crash there for the night. Only if you want to." Rebecca turned and shuffled off down the hall. Her room was the one at the very end of the hall and as the door opened one could catch the glimpse of a very dark pink wallpaper. It was her one and only "girly" room in the house.

Michael Callaway Michael tilted his head, using a lockpick to pop free the cuffs. He grabbed up the corpse and exhaled, walking out of the house quickly. A half hour later, he had returned; the body had been disposed of in a place within the sewers that few knew of since its appearance was that of a massive whirlpool that sucked down nearly everything that ended up within it. He headed towards the spare bedroom Rebecca had mentioned, exhaling slowly. Fortunate for me that the sewers here aren't quite as horrible to smell as most would be, regardless of enhanced senses, he thought as he stripped down and slid into the bed; he was out cold within a matter of minutes.
His eyelids fluttered as he rolled over, slowly opening to see dim but growing light as he swiftly realized he'd awoken just before dawn. OOC:

Rebecca was already awake and showered by the time the sun began to come up. She hadn't slept long, but it was longer than most nights over the past several weeks. She sighed and shuffled down the hallway towards the kitchen. She needed some coffee. Luckily she had set a timer so it was just about done when she entered the kitchen. Her long, wet hair clung to her back as she pulled down a mug and poured herself some coffee adding a generous amount of sugar and creamer. A lot of people teased her about that, telling her she should have some coffee with her sugar. "Hmm, perfect," Rebecca sighed as she took a sip of the hot liquid. She set the cup down on the counter and moved to the refrigerator to find something to eat.

Michael Callaway Michael tilted his head as he got dressed quickly. He slipped out of the window quickly and grabbed a few items before returning, deliberately knocking on the front door as he had half a dozen doughnuts and a couple of bagels.OOC:

Rebecca frowned as she shut the refrigerator. Who would be knocking on her door at this time in the morning? As she walked down the hallway she grasped her gun from its holster. She stood to the side of the door before peaking out the little hole in the door. Rebecca smiled a little as she put the gun in the waistband of her pants and opened the door. "Good morning Michael," she said as she looked at the food he had brought. "Hmm, brought some food huh?" Rebecca opened the door wider for him so he could enter.

Michael Callaway Michael smiled faintly. "Of course. Seems you're as much a morning person as someone else I could mention," he said idly, knowing she'd realize he meant a certain atmokinetic mutant with silver-white hair as he stepped through the door. "Turns out our 'friend' was seen the other night talking to a known drug dealer by the name of Gaius Kane," he said with a slight shrug. He, just like the police did, had his own web of informants, most of which were extremely useful in finding out information few would think to seek. He knew she'd recognize the name of the drug dealer, as he'd recently managed to walk on a case that had literally had him by the balls somehow; he personally suspected the man had paid off the judge and lawyers to toss the case. Rebecca chuckled as she shut and locked the door behind Michael. It was true, she was a morning person. Even before she had found this cloak and gotten these powers. "Yup, I have always been a morning person." She followed him to the kitchen and frowned when he mentioned Gaius Kane. "Gaius, huh?" She pulled down a cup and poured some coffee for him. "I can honestly say that the man doesn't think too kindly of me." Rebecca went back to her own cup and took a sip. She shrugged a little. "So, what food did you bring?"

Michael Callaway Michael shrugged one shoulder. "A half dozen varied doughnuts and a couple of bagels, just in case. I know Gaius doesn't like me much either, considering he's tried to take me out a couple of times.... only to end up getting some rather unpleasant things returned to him," he said with a faint edge of amusement. He was sure that Rebecca had likely heard that Gaius had lost four of his higher members, including one of his top lieutenants and two of his personal bodyguards, only to get their heads in the mail, a rather gruesome message.OOC:

"That was you, huh?" Rebecca said with a smirk as she got out some plates for them. "Well I applaud you for your creativeness and getting some of those men off the street." She then took the boxes from Michael and set them on the counter. She looked at Michael from the corner of her eye as she went for the napkins. "He pursued me, you now? In a romantic way." She snorted a little. "He didn't like getting no for an answer, so he kept trying." Rebecca picked up a chocolate doughnut and took a bite. "I think it was the swift kick to the family jewels that finally got his attention."

Michael Callaway Michael cocked his head. "Let's just say a certain Canknucklehead had a little anger to work out... and frankly, I wasn't too amused at his 'methods' of trying to convince me to work for him, which frankly were less subtle than Juggernaut's way of 'knocking' on a door," he said blandly as he picked up a glazed chocolate doughnut; he knew she knew that Juggernaut never 'knocked' on a door... the guy usually took down the door and then some. He picked up the coffee in his other hand, chuckling. "It's a good thing that I'm not like Logan... considering his usual drink of choice," he said blandly, subtly referring to Logan's less than subtle preference for beer.OOC:

Rebecca's lips twitched in a smile. "A good thing, because I don't drink beer. I think it's disgusting." She finished off her first doughnut as she took another drink of her coffee. "Do you want anything for coffee? Sugar? Creamer?" She watched him silently. She picked up a napkin and wiped off her mouth.

Michael Callaway Michael tilted his head. "I can drink whiskey or moonshine.... but normal beer tastes like piss, pardon my choice of words," he said dryly with a slight shrug. "Both would be fine, thanks," he said with amusement. He cocked his head slightly, thinking. "Logan says he thinks that several of the other X-Men are likely bonded to certain items of theirs... he knows Cyclops and Gambit are for sure, but isn't sure about anyone else," he said thoughtfully.OOC:
