Aye, true that.

I may have to join you Westley, although I could need a while to learn the new 6th rules however.

Aye, I've done Dark Heresy, Deathwatch and Black Crusade, currently perusing a DnD 3.5 campaign that I'll be doing tonight with any luck, if they get on Mumble.

I've always wanted to do one of the aforementioned 40k games with this chapter, since the other 40k chapter I game with a lot can't commit fully to it, but no one really seems to be interested.
I know what you mean, ever since moving down under I've been without a proper game, though we seem to be gearing up for a Summer reunion this year for a bit of Only War. pirate

How is it down there? I remember when you went for a holiday, seems like years ago. Probably was.

Reunion over the PC or real life? I've heard Only War is pretty epic, a friend of mine tested the beta rules and said it was awesome.
In short: I found me a lad, got married and am staying here permanently now. emotion_yatta

Regarding Only War, we played an early version of the demo adventure Spring last year and with a few tweaks it was a good run. The beta was a bit messy, but they got a lot of good feedback out of us that they've been putting to good use in their weekly FAQ's, this might be the best 40k RPG launch yet. *fingers crossed*

That's great! I remember when you had only just met him. Congrats!

I'm eager to actually play it, is it more varied than Dark Heresy or the others?

Unlike the other systems, which have combat mixed with something else, this is mostly combat with a hint of the tedium of being a slogger in 40k. You do get to butt heads with the Munitorum clerks to see if you get mission specific gear (which can have hilarious side-effects). Missions are a bit like with Deathwatch, multiple objectives, but not as complicated or impossible thankfully.

The ranking system is also done away with in favour of the Black Crusade system, only instead of picking a Chaos god each archetype has its own aptitudes.

Jolly good, drop me a PM when you'll be available tomorrow and I'll see when I'm on.

Thanks.
