Ami just wtf'd at Lex.

A few good shots were taken at the beast before another fist walloped into his stomach, sending him crashing next to Eva, nearly on top of her. Well- that wouldn't have been good in a battle situation; he'd have crushed the poor girl.

Grunting as he pulled himself up, began to cough badly, nearly gagging from the intensity. He was nearly done for; another hit like that and he'd be either knocked out or wiped out. Hopefully wiped, because these two couldn't carry his body back to the island.

Again, Eva automatically tried to reach out to catch her friend, only to cringe as her fingers merely grazed him and he went crashing into the ground. As he pushed himself back up and began to cough, she knit her brows and looked up at him in concern.

"Are you okay, Lex?" Her gaze flickered to the side, "What about you, Ami--"

MOVE!

She flinched at Chara's sudden order, but was too slow, biting down a surprised yell as she suddenly felt something slam into her shoulder with a force that made her whole weapon arm go numb and tingly for a second. Gritting her teeth, she swapped her weapon to the other hand and quickly--and haphazardly--thrust the blade forward and at the creature.

Her Fear shield was staring to flicker now. This...wasn't good. One more hit, and...

This situation was desolate. All three of them were coughing up a lung. Random, seemingly invisible monsters were hitting them out of nowhere- the circumstances were absolutely pitiful.

Though it didn't help at all, Ami positioned her body in front of Eva's, blocking off some of the smaller tendrils of evil. They were running out of options. Inevitably, Ami could only think of one thing to do. "Lex, pendant out of here with Eva. I'll buy you the time to use it."

Lex coughed as he nodded, for once not playing it valiant or strong or doing the hero thing by telling Ami to take Eva instead. They were both at critical low points of their shields - Eva's actually flickered. Ami's was still holding up, and could take at least another hit. With a grunt he hefted Eva onto his shoulder, and clutched the pendant in his pocket.

Giving Ami a look of assurance and expectation, Lex turned towards the sea and shouted "Deus Ex Machina!" In a flash they were gone, landing in the Lighthouse on their feet.

The Hunter on duty stared, before asking if they needed a medical team. Lex shook his head, telling him that their shields were still up. Rest was all the medicine they'd need.

And the assurance that Ami made it.  

[Kaiyumi]

"Wha--w-wait, Ami--what, Lex, put me do--wait no we can't--"

She tried to protest, only to have each of them cut off as Lex obediently grabbed her and hefted her over his shoulder. She turned to cast Ami a look of concern when she was suddenly blinded by the familiar flash.

...And then they were back. Eva stared up at the lighthouse for a moment, and then went limp, draping over Lex's shoulder like a ragdoll. "Ami is coming back...right away, right? Like, in the next minute or so?" She was safe, right?

She heard Lex actually following orders behind her, which assured her that she at least got them away. If anything else wrong, it would be on her, not them. She looked defiantly to the mist.

Well, bring it on.

A little less than an hour later, Ami staggered through the portal, panting so hard she was coughing, and absolutely drenched in brackish water.

To say she looked like a cat thrown into a bath was an understatement. She gave a heavy sigh and a glare at the hunter on duty that just dared him to ask if she needed help. She shook off her coat and threw it over her arms, then huffed off to her room to change.
