As the JOY wave receded, Bix joined Eva for fawning over the tree. It was bent to one side, some of the branches were mashed up, and whatever ornaments had been on it seemed to mostly be gone. They'd have to scrounge around a little more. "It's not very big.." He fussed a bit, trying to move the wire branches a bit. "But it's what we have to work with." In a moment he'd thrown himself back into the closet and emerged with another box. It clearly had miscellaneous christmas items but looked to be a mess. "Let's go through all of this. ALL OF IT." He hummed and danced down the hall.

Okay, so it was a little bent, and misshapen, and it might have lost a couple of its plastic pine needles, but hey! It had character, right? She was so excited that she could barely tear her gaze away from the poor, sad little tree. Her sparkle eyes only got bigger when Bix dived back into the closet to retrieve a giant box. "Oooh, yes! Let's go, let's go!" Beaming, Eva reached down to scoop up all the other little random Christmas-y things they had found, carrying them awkwardly in her arms as she trotted after Bix.
They were probably the most ridiculous looking pair ever right now.

Bix plopped the box of ornaments down on the floor and began to frame things up with his fingers. Where would the tree go? It wasn't like there was a lot in here anyway but the tree was small so he aimed for the half-wall between his kitchen and living room. "BAM!" He pointed. "THERE." Yes Eva. Place the tree.

Eva hovered around Bix's shoulders eagerly, and would have been wagging her tail in excitement if she actually possessed one. When the man selected a spot for the tree, she immediately straightened up, legs together and one arm at her side while she lifted the other to salute him.
"Yes sir!" She chirped, puffing up her chest and straightening her shoulders as if she were a soldier. Obediently, she grabbed the crooked tree and awkwardly made her way to the hall-way, stumbling every so often. When she finally reached it, she set it down and stepped back.
"There! How's tha--" No. Frowning, she moved back up to adjust it. A slight turn to the right--no, too much. A little to the left now--nope, too far again. Careful, careful...there!
...Nah, she didn't like it. Back to its original position.iloveyouDIE AW NO PROB it's finals time for me anywayssss <33

While Eva arranged the tree, Bix had plopped onto his couch and begun to dig through the ornament box. Unfortunately there was a pretty crappy selection, but for the JOY infused hunter any ornament was an awesome ornament. When he was sure that she'd finished the archer began to decorate. "Deck the halls with boughs of holl-lee," he emphasised," FA LA LA LA LAAAA LAAAA LAAA LAAA LAAAA." He leaned to plug in the tree's string of lights and after a brief flicker they sprung to life. He pushed the ornament box with his foot so she could help. There were only a few ornaments, not enough to really fully deck it out, but enough to keep them occupied a few minutes. "Tis the season to be JOLL-LEE.. FA LA LA LA LA LA LAAA LAAAAAAA." He paused to ask. "You still have that flashy star topper thing?"

Eva hummed along as he sang, but paused at the question. Flashy--oh! Holding her index finger up in a "just a minute" gesture, she rushed back to where she had set them down, picking up the flashing snowman and the flashing star. She looked between then, and then held both of them up.
"Well, I'm guessing that you want the star on top of the tree? ...Though to be fair, the snowman would look pretty cool too, I think." Or ridiculous, but considering how little ornaments they had for their sad, bent little tree...
Carrying the two flashy things in her arms, she shuffled towards the box of ornaments and reached in to grab on, pulling out a...a headless reindeer. Clearly it was broken and not intentional, but considering how they were already scarce in the ornament department, Eva just hung it onto the tree anyways.
...Classy.

A legless santa here, a cheap plastic icicle there, slowly their tree gained a collection of shoddy ornaments. After recieving the star he hooked it into the normal lights and watched it's psychadelic flashing. Bix took a few steps back and examined the tree, while images of elves danced around the base for him, and grinned. "Oh wait!" One last touch. He ran around the room, collected all of his lord of the rings actions figures, and positioned them in the branches of the tree. Most of them were just straddling branches and said branches sagged under their weight. "What do you think?" He threw his arm around Eva's shoulder again.

Their tree was obviously, by no means, perfect, nor did it fit with the traditional standard of beauty...but no one could deny that it had character. The young woman had to suppress a giggle when Bix went to retrieve his figures, watching with amusement as the characters were posed to sit on the branches. Some of them looked like they were genuinely clinging on for dear life.
Laughing when he slung an arm around her shoulder, she lifted her own arm to return the favour, giving him a pat on the shoulder as she stared at their stunning beautiful creation. Lips spreading into a smile, she let out a little sigh.
"I think it's perfect, Bix. Merry Christmas."
