❝ Nora could see he was lost in thought as she sat down on the carpet, which made her laugh of course.
She leaned her back against a tree and patted the ground with the rug beside her. "Come sit." She insisted. He had been on his feet all day, in a way his standing made her nervous, so she offered him a seat. ❞

Eleven ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eleven turned to face Nora when she asked him to sit. He saw no reason, it put them at a tactical disadvantage she could not draw her sword from a seated position and he could not reach as far with his dagger if he was seated. They would certainly be captured if they were attacked. So when Eleven did sit down next to her, he was put on edge.

❝ Nora could tell he was feeling unsure about their current situation. “If I tell you everything will be alright, do you believe me?” She asked looking at him beside her. Nora spoke quietly. She truly meant it too, she knew everything would be alright.
All she could think about was her shop and how much work she had to get done. She wanted to tell Ellie so much but knew it wasn't a good idea. She tried to stop her thoughts, it seemed almost impossible, so she leaned her head against his shoulder tiredly, his warmth made her even more tired. She closed her eyes for a moment, hearing the crickets and the rustling of the trees and grass around them.
Opening her eyes she looked down at the arm she leaned against. She reached her hands over his arm where she began to slip up his sleeve. She rememberd the first time they met, she cut him and healed him, and he mentioned many scars on his body. Only on his arms alone did he have several that she could see.
Her abilities couldn’t heal scarring, most of the time her healing resulted in scarring, but regardless, the tip of her index finger gave off a small purple glow. Nora trailed the warmth of her healing power over his arm creating small streams of dim light as she tracing each scar like a constellation in the sky. It was going to do nothing for him, but maybe relax him, and it sure got things off her mind. She realized Even if your parents are married, like his were, that doesn’t mean it’s any better or worse than having parents no longer around. Each life can be just as equally lonely.
Nora pressed down her middle finger, and pretended her fingers were marching beside each other across his forearm, one glowing purple, than one green, one purple, and one green. after doing this for some time, her eyes closed again, as she still was trailing her finger around his forearm, but her motions got slower and slower as she dozed off against his body. ❞

Eleven ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eleven didn't answer Nora because he knew that it was not an answer she wanted to hear. "Get some rest." He whispered to her before leaning back on the tree in an attempt to relax. When she began tracing his scars his body tensed but a few seconds later he relaxed again. Each scar had a story behind it. He could easily alter reality and remove them but he kept them all because they reminded him of a mistake he had made. Now he had a new scar that traced from his elbow up to his shoulder and it was from the scorpion earlier. That was just another story for his collection. Certain of his scars would have told a story that taught you not to forgive but he did not tell Nora. She had a innocence he did not want to corrupt. He was not his father, but he was not pure. None of his kind were. Eternal youth corrupted the body. when nora's movements slowed he looked up towards the dark sky trying to forget what he knew was coming.

❝ The chirping of the morning birds broke Nora out of her sleep. She slowly opened her eyes, looking around, she knew by the rising sun that she had only slept a few hours.
It seemed that Eleven had not moved, that surprised her, she figured he would have walked alone somewhere after she dozed off, she didn’t even remember dozing off.
Nora unraveled herself from around his arm slowly. “Sorry.” She said as she rubbed her eyes, assuming she most likely put his shoulder to sleep. She grabbed her sword beside and looked to right at Eleven. “I’m ready if you are, we only have a few hours left don’t we?” She yawned heavily. ❞

Eleven ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Two or three." Eleven responded as he realized how quickly the time had past. It was funny how time few when you left a man to his thoughts. He stood slowly and shook his legs then the shoulder she had been sleeping on. All three had fallen asleep. The forest had been quiet throughout the time she was sleeping and Eleven was thinking. Now he turned towards the Zaibatsu and began walking again. His clothes had reverted to the usual suit he wore when she had stood up. They always restored themselves when they had no reason not to.

❝ As she followed close behind him she spoke. "Get any rest at all?" She was truly concerned for his well being after the most resent events.
Walking for a few more hours she began to see the city below them as they were at a higher elevation than the town. She was sad to see them depart soon, but knew it wasn't going to be the last. ❞

Eleven ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"No. I was relaxed but I didn't actually sleep. It wouldn't have been safe." Eleven claimed as they walked. the truth was that he had drifted off at some point but woke up within thirty minutes. When he saw the city bellow them he was relieved to have made it back alive. That had been a concern. He wasn't worried about himself dying as much as he was worried Nora would. He knew she couldn't come back.

❝ "I'm glad." She responded as she walked beside Eleven over the cobble stone road and in front of her shop. She was truly happy he relaxed a bit, she knew if this was her situation, she herself would not be sleeping.
She looked down at her clothing as they walked, she was dirtier than before they left, she was excited for a shower.
Nora walked to the door for her shop and stopped before she opened it. She turned around to face Eleven and gave him a smile. She reached up to his arm, placing her hand on him over his blazer. "Come visit me?" Nora looked up at his light eyes as they reflected every color around them. ❞

Eleven ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eleven walked Nora back to her shop in silence until she asked that he come visit her. He knew that for some time he would not be able to. There were things he had to do to prepare for what was coming. Steps he had to take to ensure he was strong enough, and the first step was finding out why his powers had been limited. Why he couldn't access them to their full extent and that would take some time. "The moment I return to this place, I will visit you."

❝ Nora had no idea he was leaving for as long as he was. She assumed a few things he had to do here in there since his mother was plotting against, but had no idea his absence was going to be a great as it was.
Nora reached for his hand and pulled him into a hug, wrapping her arms around his waist and her head against his shoulder. She held him close to her for a moment before letting go of her embrace and taking a step back.
"Keep me updated, okay?" She smiled as she reached her door handle and turned the knob. ❞

Eleven ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eleven was opposed to physical contact unless there was a fight but he did not stop Nora from hugging him. He also tried not to be rude so he awkwardly hugged her at the same time. Then when she let go he did as well. "If it take me more than a year I will get a letter to you saying if I am still alive." Eleven said it as a serious statement but it may have sounded like a joke.

❝ Nora nodded. "I look forward to that letter." It was hard for her to smile knowing the one friend she made other than Ellie had to depart.
"Be safe." He was strong, he didn't need the good luck. Nora gave him a wink as she entered her home ready for some real rest.
But before she did, Nora reached for Eleven's arm. "Wait--before you go-- I have tea? I'm sure you're hungry" Of course he could make anything appear out of no where, and did not need her help to do so, but she offered regardless. ❞

Eleven ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"If I am being safe I am not doing it right." Eleven claimed as they reached Nora's shop. He turned to leave and made it to about the door before he stopped and turned to face her again. "In the desert I used you as bait. I am sorry I did not tell you what I had planned." As far as apologies went that was the best she would get from Eleven because he then replied to Loki mentally. "No, trying again would make me seem desperate. She might try to recruit me and I don't think she can survive that kind of denial. Good luck with the students I can not be there. My powers are progressively becoming more limited and I have to find out why. This may be the last you hear from me for a while. "

☉☉☉The Blacksmith☉☉☉
Nora and the young children had traveled through the snow for quite some time now. Hundreds, one by one followed each other. around 100 left with blade in one direction, the rest with her. A few of the smaller children under 5 years old held her hand as they were hardly taller than the soft fallen snow. Some of the older children carried some of the smaller ones. The small baby slept in a sack being held on her back, and both her shoulders were being weighed down by the two large tent bags that held also some materials.
All of them were tired. Nora herself was tired, but of course she wouldn’t show her children that. They were cold. Most of them were hungry. The snow began to fall again, sticking to their hair. This didn’t make the travel to Ascension City easy. 3 Days of travel would take longer with hundreds of children traveling with her than alone.
Nora began to wonder that maybe—Maybe it was time for her to leave the Zaibatsu. To not come back. It would be a shame to leave her friends, but what did she really have to come back too? She couldn’t make money, there were no weapons to be made for the ones left alive. She was a pretty pointless person in that kingdom, and now it was in ruins. She truly considered not returning.
One of the children walking in front of her stumbled, falling into the knee deep snow. Nora walked up to her, and pulled her body up out of it, shaking her off. “I’m so—tired and—hungry miss Nora.” the little girl complained, with her eyes half open.
“I know—“ Nora replied as she picked up the child into her arms, carrying her some of the way.
Nora held the sleeping preschool aged child as she walked along for quiet some time before having them stop and sleep in the tents she carried. They all huddled close to keep warm as a fire sat between the two tents. She began to think of Eleven again, and magical fire. How she couldn’t wait to go back home, and hopefully get to try some once everything was rebuilt.
It had been days and Nora had began to think they were lost, but she came upon a city under the frozen blanket of snow. It surely wasn’t as large as the Zaibatsu had been, but it was fairly large.
Her and the children walked through the villager’s town, and of course were looked at like Aliens, they were aliens, they were not of that land. But slowly one by one, Nora lead them to the head of their small kingdom, hundreds trailing behind her.
She reached a large kingdom, not quite like the Zaibatsu, but smaller, shorter, and it had less towers. They were welcomed inside, and her and the children were so releaved to feel warmth upon their bodies.
As they undressed from their coats and hats, a man walked before them, long white beard with long white hair, older, who smiled at Nora’s gaze. “How can we assist you?” He spoke so kind, Nora at first was unsure of leaving the children with anyone, but his presence gave her comfort and she knew this was the right thing to do.
Nora began to explain her story, on how her kingdom was attacked by the Doma, killing the children’s family. The Zaibatsu had no food, little heat and these children needed families. One by one they were given to new parents, Nora getting to meet each one and introduced herself, giving each child away, and hugging them before they left. She told them to come back and visit her.
There was one last child left, wrapped in a sack around her back. She pulled him from his sling and cradled him into her arms. She stared down at his dark hair, and his bright greenish eyes. His skin a little olive. She didn’t know if his mother had been human or not. She knew nothing of the child, but that she was lead to him under her old smith shop.
Nora cradled him close to her body. He was so tiny, so sweet and innocent. But she couldn’t give this one up—She felt attached to him, like he belong to her after she nurtured him back to health. She apologized as she decided to keep the small boy for herself, as selfish as it was, she really didn’t have anyone, and besides eleven, he was the first human she felt attached too.
Bowing and thanking the elder of the village for taking the Zaibatsu’s children, she reattached her new small found love to his sack and headed home to the Zaibatsu.
