Zebo winced from the bird's powerful attack, but he recovered quickly. His tail hardened and he leaped toward Akantha, swinging his tail around for the strike.

A growl ripped from Zebo's throat. His ears flattened against his head and his tail lashed as he glared at Akantha.

"Ancient Power, raise your attack!" Sienna shouted. Why had she bothered lowering the purrloin's defenses when Akantha's decreases would stay with her into the next battle? Akantha gladly raised her attack by concentrating on the ancient earth around her. Zebo sucked in a deep breath and released it in a series of threatening yowls. His tail lashed and he dug his claws into the stadium floor, itching to get back to the physical part of the battle.

Zebo was pushed back a bit by the rock smash, but he immediately sprang forward again, swinging his tail around to slam into Akantha.

Akantha winced as she tried to recover from the blow of the Iron Tail. Not even that far into the battle and she was being throughly worn out. No matter. She sprung forward again for another Rock Smash. Zebo was knocked off his feet by the power of the Rock Smash. He lay still for a moment, then shaking pushed himself upright.
"Are you okay?" Zinnia asked in concern. She saw Zebo's tail lashing; he was hurt, but still itching to go. "Hang in there! Use Iron Tail again!"
Zebo pounced toward Akantha again.

The wind was knocked out of Akantha as the Iron Tail swung into her side, effectively sending her skidding across the stadium floor. Likewise, she shook herself off before launching off the group for another Rock Smash. Zebo dug his claws into the stadium floor, bracing himself as he took the heavy blow from Akantha. While she was still within range, he hardened his tail and whipped it toward her.

Akantha was struck with the hard tail once more, and her breathing became more and more ragged, her body more and more tired. She wasn't sure how much longer she'd be able to continue for. But she sent forth another Rock Smash in her best effort.
