[Rochelle, tag Carltis]

"I bet her father was a wherrie," Rochelle grumbled. "And her mother smelled of elderberries." That last insult said, she took a deep breath and loosened her hold on his large arm. It didn't mean she lifted her head from him at all, eyes closed and a frown on her mouth. The scowl of hate dissappeared with Becka.

"You can let me go, Carltis. 'M not going to go and curb stomp her right now." The glasscrafter sighed and, finally, lifted her head to frown in his general direction. "She IS gone, right? Because kf she isn't, no promises."

Roscoe
tag N'mol

"Understandable" Roscoe replied with a smile. Really there was no need to apologize as far as he was concerned, the remark had just been an easy conversation opener, I mean the man had risked life and limb coming to find him in the woods after Benden's fall. "Seems to be a lot to do with the rebuilding and all." He added with a wave towards the sight of some ruins still looking out of the gloom not so very far away. Since he'd been out of the infirmary he'd put his own hand towards helping out as he could but Trine did not run nearly as efficiently as Benden had as far as he was concerned and it was slow going.

"I've been alright, adjusting as I'm sure everyone is and glad to be on my feet in time for the hatching." He added with a nod of acceptance for the other man's well wishes, a bit of a worried look crept into his gaze however at the mention of the hatching and it seemed that worried thought was enough to bring the peeping form of his recently acquired flit nosing around. Roscoe looked at her with dismay, her ruddy color doing very little to help make him feel better and he sighed slightly as she peeped and prodded for his attention. Just to get her to be quiet he tapped her on the head in an off handed fashion. "Go on Clay, go find someone else to pester. Maybe they'll adopt you." He told the crimson busy body before looking back to N'mol with a shrug.

"I don't think she's right in the head, got bounced off the table in the egg and cracked open, I let her crawl about mewling for a while but you know by that time it was a touch to late to do anything but feed her." He stated with a disconcerted look on his face. Clearly he'd rather the mutant beast just hadn't hatched at all, but he wasn't callous enough to let her die once she had hatched..even if it wasn't exactly on her own.

[Berath - Tag Becka]

When Becka appeared seemingly out of nowhere and clung onto her leg in floods of tears Berath keened in sympathy, eyes snapping abruptly from contented blue to saddened grey. she replied, lying down carefully, bringing her muzzle down to the human's level and mantling her wings over them to hide her from prying eyes. she asked gently.

Berath replied quickly to her bondmate, not wanting to stress or worry him when he ought to be sleeping soon.

<...Well, alright. If you insist.>

-------------------

[F'itz - Tag Adi]

F'itz gave a small smile in reply to the bright one he was offered and inclined his head in a small nod of acknowledgement. "Good; he can get a bit silly about females. Brumath says if he were capable of speech he would be a poet. My name is F'itz; might I ask yours?" So long as Cinder had dragged him into this encounter he saw no harm in being polite, maybe even forming a friendly acquaintance.

-------------------

[Carltis - Tag Rochelle]

Carltis gave a brief laugh and relaxed his arm-grip on Rochelle. "Interesting insult, but yes she's gone.... You really took against her, didn't you? Have to say I missed a lot of what was going on to start with. Well. Saw her slap you. Last thing I expected out of her given how she'd been acting beforehand." Humm, maybe he wouldn't probe too much more tonight actually as there was fun to be had; somebody else had paid for the drinks, you didn't get that every day and with the crowding being what it was luxury goods were generally hard to find and at a premium. A premium he couldn't afford.

M'lan
(tag to Tanya)

M'lan nodded... Tanya.. yes.. how could he have forgotten, she'd given him a few sneaky snacks sometimes when he'd been driven out of the kitchens, not much but still M'lan appreciated it "Tanya, i'm so sorry i forgot your name, did i ever thank you for saving me that bubbly pie from the gather?" he chuckled, he remembered her, just not her name. His face clouded for moment before he put a reassuring hand on her shoulder "Oh it's nothing Tanya, it's just.. everyone here deserves such an award as that silver rider got... why did SHE stand out more, we all helped rebuild Trine, everything right down to you .. in the kitchens, each gave what they could. I don't see what's so special about one Silver rider, though i can't begrudge her, i guess Asoth is rubbing off on me" he admitted, rubbing the back of his neck, embarassed "He's always wanting to show off and he's a little bit sulky that another is in the limelight i guess" he grinned.

Kindra
(tag to N'mol/Tyeth)

Suunath rumbled, she agreed with N'mol (through Tyeth) completely, she didn't like that Hers was hiding away and she relayed the message, with more than a little mental force.

Kindra, was annoyed at Suuanth and at N'mol ... how dare he tell her to come... sure she was trying to avoid ANY possibility of bumping into Z'fer but shells... N'mol was poking at her pride now. She cursed under her breath as she dressed. Of course he was right... N'mol was always right and it grated on her nerves today but no way was she going to be seen as a coward. She'd already been toying with turning up and shaffit she was going, even if she only went to give N'mol a piece of her mind. how DARE he summon her like a silly little drudge. She chose the finest piece of clothing she had, the dress she had bought at the gather, the embroidery in Gold really set it off and she knew she looked good. She brushed her raven hair until it shone and she tied it back only a little, two braids either side that met in the middle at the back of her head, to keep her hair out of her face.

Gracefully she mounted Suunath, gripping the riding straps she'd put on her Gold before getting ready "Come on then Suunath" she said grinning, she directed Suunath to pass over the gathered crowd and knew she cut a lovely figure, her hair blowing behind her as she rode her gleaming Golden dragon. Oh he wanted her here... he would see what a mistake it was... the hard way She breezed through the crowd to N'mol's side, having seen him from above, the main reason she'd passed overhead. "N'mol" she said, her tone dangerously soft. She wasn't totally back to Kindra-ness but she was getting there.

Becka
(tag to Berath)

Becka wrapped her arms around Berath's muzzle when the Green brought it to her level "Rochelle.... she's hated me since... Berath i felt so bad.. i was trying help Bereck and... she told me to 'deal with it' and i slapped her.. i said sorry right after but... Shells Berath... she really hates me and i couldn't even talk to Carltis... not that HE seemed to be bothered by her threatening me" she sighed, Berath was probably the only one she really talked to since coming to Trine, everyone else got the shorthand, non-emotional version.... mostly.

[Berath - Tag Becka]

Rochelle hated Becka? That was a confusing and upsetting thought; she liked both young humans a great deal! As the hug was transferred to her muzzle Berath reached forward one huge forepaw and wrapped it around Becka with utmost tenderness, giving the girl a full-body hug. the massive green rumbled, If Rochelle was actually threatening Becka... she might need to do something about that. She did need to do something; she hoped that something was just finding out it hadn't been meant.

Berath added with a base rumble,

[Rochelle, tag Carltis]

While she relaxed her hold even further, Rochelle didn't quite move away from her lean against him. She huffed, hands falling after a long moment, and her nose wrinkled up.

"Back in the infirmary, I tried to calm her down from hysterics. Being soft didn't work. Nice didn't work. She kept sobbing over how she didn't know what to do and I tried to tell her to deal with it because people were going to die because nothing else worked. So she hit me and then started apologizing, like it made it all better. Last person who hit me tried to apologize too. Doesn't stop the fact it happened. I told her not to touch me again or I'd put my boot up her a**. You know that smug smooth little tone people get when they think they have the last word? she said some s**t about 'then who will heal' before flouncing off." Rochelle ranted this against him, scowling again, and shifted back from Carltis slowly. Last thing she wanted was to bruise him up further.

"Then, you weren't feeling shiny and I was wrapping up Aleck. b***h pushes me out of the way. That was when I told her that I would find her and end her, then she started crying like she'd not been the hitting, pushing one. What the ******** kind of moronic apprentices does Bereck have? Wherrie faced little brat."

Seethe seethe seethe, her shoulders up and by her ears in defensiveness. Rochelle shoved her hands in her pockets, grumbling all over again. "Whatever. Plenty of time to cut off her ears and beat her bloody after weyrlinghood or something. How've you been?"

Adi
Tag F'itz

"There are worse things to get silly about. What's his name?" Unable to resist, she held out her arm to the circling flit to invite him down. "I'm Adi, and this is La." The gold cheeped when she was introduced before crooning to the black, broadcasting a desire for cuddles.

"I have more, but Mazamath's got them." Carrying five flits around a party was pretty much asking for trouble, so the blue was in charge. Really, he was better than she was at wrangling them to begin with.

[Carltis - tag Rochelle]

"Hu," Carltis Scowled (his scowls generally deserved to be capitalized) and nodded slightly. "Well, yes, I can see why you were pissed. Definitely." He wasn't sure it was worth that level of hate, but then again he'd hated people as much for reasons that others might not find worthwhile.

"I've been good though," Carltis shrugged, a grin creeping onto his face. "Got an anecdote to tell you about me wrangling goats that involves me subtly comparing Wingleader Sor'loser to one if you want to hear it. Shall we get some wine first though, before the Benden sots quaff the lot?"

--------------

[F'itz - Tag Adi]

Cinder was only too happy to oblige the pretty (pretty huge!) lady, and swooped down to land on Adi's shoulder with a small cheep of acknowledgement for his new perch before he snuggled up against the gold.

F'itz, looking faintly embarrassed by his pet's antics, held a hand out to clasp in greeting. "His name's Cinder; pleased to meet you Adi." He nearly asked what colour Mazamath was but then remembered that sort of thing was probably considered rude around here, and that he hadn't introduced Brumath by colour in any case. "Are you native?" he asked instead. "Brumath and I came from Benden."

There was something to be said about the simpler mechanics of a dragon's thought process on some things, Humans over complicated things sometimes and having Berath just hug her (which made Becka cry all over again) was such a great comfort, even without the plain logic of what Berath said to her, it helped Becka calm down, at least in regards to Rochelle. her heart hurt a little because sometimes Berath made her think of Sessie, some of the things she said... were probably what Sessie would have told her, giving her similar comfort, though Sessie might have stuck up for her, Becka had to give a sad chuckle, she missed Sessie a lot but Berath was wonderful and Becka loved her.

"I don't know Berath" she said, removing her arms from the dragon's muzzle and rubbed gently at her eyeridge on her unhurt side "Does your other eye itch any Berath?" she asked, having someone to worry about distracting her from herself. "I love you Berath, you're the best dragon ever, thank you for being my friend" she added, knowing not all... well most dragons weren't like Berath, she was special and Becka knew it, she really hoped that Bereck would be allowed out to her soon, she needed him there and not just a voice or a glimpse through a window.

Orlina

Okay, it wasn't a Gather, but Orlina was having a good time anyway. She had some of the other Candidates had been talking at rapid-fire pace until a few of the male Candidates she didn't know wandered over. Orlina had clammed up immediately, smiling a welcome at them without saying anything, and let them and the other girls she was with take over the conversation. She was now just hanging within the group without really contributing anything.

Cetalese
(Tag Eliza and D'lin)

Halith, for her part, was busy hamming it up with some dragons of assorted colors, fidgeting excitedly and slowly growing louder in mind-voice volume. Cetalese let her be for the moment-- when she started bugling, the rider would step in.

"Halith hadn't mentioned injuries, so I assumed nothing terrible had happened." Ceta shook her head and looked over at where Devith was practically preening himself. "She does remember that Silvers are not capable of pursuing her in Flight?"

Cetalese nodded at someone who bumped her and apologized as they squeezed past, and took the opportunity to cast her eyes around the crowd. No one in particular stood out at first, so while Eliza continued to chatter she began focusing more on the faces at a distance from her. There was M'lan, by the tables for food and drink, and Cetalese thought she saw F'itz talking with one of the female riders from Malvren.

(ANYONE WHO HAS LOOSE DRAGONS WHO NEED SOMETHING TO DO: You're welcome to have them be hanging out with Halith. She'd befriend anybody. Prepare for chatter, bugles, the occasional crass joke, and potential antics though!)

N'mol
(Tag Roscoe and Kindra)

He watched the little flit beg for attention and sighed. Firelizards really were all the same. Valkyrie was very much similar in the way she begged for attention.

Valkyrie popped into existence the moment he thought of her and chirruped as she landed. She leaned forward to greet Clay, whistling a cheerful greeting. As long as the firelizard wasn't a mean one or trying to take N'mol from her, Valkyrie was fine with socializing. She had even taken N'mol's young Bronze under her wing and was mothering it in an odd, out-of-character way for a Green. Since the Bronze wasn't following her around or appearing squalling, he guessed that the baby was sleeping back at the bunk. He could be a petulant little thing when he was hungry-- and it seemed like he was hungry all of the time.

"Well, it would have been wrong to let her die once she got out of the egg if you had a way to save her. I guess you're stuck with her, though. She doesn't seem to want to find someone else to give her attention. That is Impression, after all."

The atypical flit reminded him, however, that there would be two Clutches on the Sands and that, beyond that, they were in an atypical Weyr. Even beyond that Roscoe had to stand for the Crimson's Clutch alongside the Gold's if he wanted to Impress, and if Suunath birthed any atypical eggs... well. They were going to be forcefully Hatched. He was sure Abigail would see to that. N'mol just hoped that when that happened Roscoe had already Impressed early on in the Clutch so he didn't have to worry about being paired with one of the mutant colors.

I believe she is coming, Tyeth warned and N'mol glanced out over the crowd. Good. She should be here.

When Suunath swept overhead to find a clear spot to land N'mol's internal alarms blared for a moment and he almost looked to the sky for patience. As long as she was here, let her act the part of an arrogant Goldrider if it made her feel better. When she snuck up on him and said his name in that poisonous voice, N'mol met Roscoe's eyes for a moment before he turned and smiled at her charmingly, as if he hadn't done what he'd done.

"Kindra, I'm glad you decided to come. Have I introduced you to Roscoe before? He was a Candidate at Benden with us and he'll be Standing for Suunath's Clutch. Roscoe, I'm sure you know Junior Weyrwoman Kindra."

Tanya
(Tag M'lan)

"Of course you thanked me. I'll put one aside for you next time, too." She tilted her head as he reassured her and then proceeded to spill his trouble to her. Tanya blinked at the sudden flurry of words and then reached up to pat his hand in concern. A smile lifted her face presently, though.

"We did all do our part and the Weyrwoman knows it. It's sweet of you to worry about the rest of the Weyr like that. I think she stood out because she was more actively noticeable. In the right place, right time, and worked her butt off, too, from what I hear." Tanya grinned brightly at him. "Don't you worry. The Weyrwoman knows we all did our part, and I remember how much you and Asoth helped. You let him know that even if you didn't get some kind of award or get to make a speech he's still the most excellent Brown in the Weyr. A little award isn't going to stop him, now is it?"

Tanya looked over when her name was called. "Now, looks like the last set of baskets are in to be put on the tables." She smiled cheerfully at him, tilting her head inquisitively. "What would you like, Brownrider? I'll snag you something before they get everything out."

[Berath - Tag Becka]

the green replied, pressing her head against Becka with feather lightness. If she was going to sort the problem out then she needed to know exactly what it was; there was no sense in charging into a situation blind.

[Rochelle, tag Carltis]

Rochelle grumbled and leaned against him again, just for a minute. Stuff like this was why she liked Carltis - he understood all this! People talked about kindness and forgiving but letting someone hit you and push you around without saying anything about it just let them know they could do it again. Being one of those people (again) did not sit well with her.

"I'm glad you understand," she said, sighing just one last time for effect, and ran her hand through her hair. But then! Goats! And she grinned, eyebrows climbing up on her forehead. "I definitely want to hear and alcohol sounds fabulous. Lead the way, mighty leader."

[Carltis - tag Rochelle]

"Ha, alright then." Carltis set off towards where the drinks were being served, wondering if he ought to pull his arm away from her; there were people everywhere... but really, what was wrong with being seen with a pretty girl attached to him? Wasn't like people would think he was a nancy-boy for that.

"Well it all started with chore assignments," Carltis began at the beginning of the story, like any good harper. "I was told that I was going to be repairing a section of fence around one of the beast enclosures, because apparently my only value lies in my muscles." He had thought that the others only valued him for that. He didn't think that anymore... but he did wonder why they did like him, other than the fact that he'd given them firelizards. He worried a bit that they were either teasing him, humouring him, or maybe that they just still wanted something out of him.... But Rochelle hadn't asked anything of him lately that he could recall so maybe it was alright.

"I protested that my tongue's much more valuable than just bulk, and that actually my hands are suited to more than hammering posts into the ground but the b*****d handing down the work apparently didn't give a flitt's tiny d**k about that and so I went off about my fulfilling and engaging work. I was minding my own business, getting on with it...." On reaching a trestle table Carltis trailed off, poured two sturdy wooden cups of wine from a jug and passed one to Rochelle. "And that's when a goat jumped on my head," he said, timing this for the moment she took a sip of her drink.

Roscoe
Tag N'mol & Kindra

Roscoe nodded with a sigh, there really was no getting rid of the beast. "Perhaps she'll learn to carry messages or something." He stated with a hint of doubt in his voice. Honestly he'd be surprised if she learned anything more then to come when he called her. In any case he left her alone when she draped herself over his shoulder, looking up along with his friend as the gold swept by over head.

It wasn't until Kindra joined them however and Roscoe caught the tone of her voice, his eyes meeting N'mols for a few brief moments before the introductions that he realized why he hadn't seen them together earlier. Clearly they were in the middle of some sort of argument. Or disagreement. In any case he swept the Goldrider a polite and respectful bow, as suitable for her station. "Of course, it's a pleasure you meet you Jr Weyrwomen." He stated with sincerity in his tone.

Eliza
Tag Ceta and Devith

Eliza nodded "No we got through with out to many more scores - and minor ones at that." She added proudly, Velath had performed quite wonderfully as far as she was concerned.

"She knows..but you know Velath, she likes to be close to the current source of attention, she's probably hoping he'll feed her some type of dragonly scandal. Not that dragons really have to many of those." She concluded with a slight shrug. "She shouldn't rise again for a little while now anyways." Eliza went on, brows furrowing as she tried to recall how long it had been. "Nah she should be good for a while."

Velath lifted her head up a bit higher when the stately silver noticed her, thrumming back her own cheerfully greeting. 'You see! It wasn't pointless!, He noticed me!' The green remarked to her rider in obvious pleasure at the attention.

'Yeah, well a tunnel snake notices flits but you rarely see them very happy about it.' Eliza responded

'It's not even remotely the same' Velath insisted 'He's silver, you never know he could lead a wing someday.'

'Maybe' Was all Eliza was willing to comment about it before she turned back to Ceta and D'lin "Or she's just trying to impress the metallic's, I don't think she likes our wing very much either."

D'lin
Tag Ceta

Ceta's wandering eyes were not lost on D'lin and he followed her gaze. Though he only recognized one in the direction she was looking. "Did you want to go and say hi?" He asked her in a neutral and unworried tone. " I should probably go and congratulate Hekate somewhat soon - I am a Wingleader after all, it's somewhat proper." He told her, giving her an excuse to go and visit without feeling worried about what he might think about it. Besides it might let him slip away from Eliza before she found some other embarrassing gossip to start in on.

Thankfully she seemed to be happy complaining about her Wing. "It can't be that bad is it?" He asked when she paused to take a breath and he found the chance to get a word in.

Mercy
Tag Dizzian

"She ought to be happy, it's not often one is congratulated in front of the entire Weyr." Mercy stated with a smile before continuing "So far the night's been pretty good, I'm afraid Aerith and I are still getting to know everyone however so there's a lot of new faces to take in." She finished with a motion towards the large crowd.

So far it was peaceful crowd at least and for that she could be grateful, with three Weyr's rolled into one there were still tensions here and there and it was nice to see that - so far at least - everyone could come out and enjoy each others company in a civil manner. "How are those pads for Courath coming along?"
