 "D-don't!" she mumbled, tossing and turning. "Odette...n-not yours! D-don't t-touch...don't touch her! Bernard!!" Melody finally sat up, drenched in a cold sweat. "What a nightmare," she sighed, rubbing her temple.

 Fields was just pulling out a coffee mug from his cabinet when he heard Melody squirm and mutter things in her sleep. He shot her a brief glare and returned to his more important matters when he heard her say it, that name. Odette? At that very second Dr. Fields froze, his face flushing. How did...?
There was a crash and a shattering sound, and after a long second the doctor closed his gaping mouth and directed his wide, shocked eyes down to the ground, where his coffee mug lay in pieces. He stared at them, still unable to comprehend what he was hearing. Bernard... Odette... She knew Decius' name... His wife's name. How... How?!
Hearing the girl finally speak normally, Dr. Fields shook his head and turned to her, fury slamming against the numb wall of surprise inside him. He stormed into the room and stared daggers at her. "How do you know?" he said in German. Without giving her a chance to speak, he lashed out and gripped her shoulders. "How do you know about them?!" he yelled while shaking her, wild desperation in his eyes.

"Not my business?" the doctor seethed. "It is all my business! They are my past, not yours! How do you know them?!"

"You don't know what's in my past," she replied, her blue eyes turning cold as her skin once more began to glow. "You know nothing at all!"

His arm moved in a blur. In a split second his hand moved from Melody's shoulder to up in the air, leaving a mark across her cheek. The doctor's eyes were wild and blind with fury, there were bits of foam around his mouth. "I don't care about your past!" he spat in German. "I care about mine! Now tell me what you know!" As he resumed shaking her violently, he quickly remembered how she phrased her words. "What happened?" he asked, this time more desperate than anything. "What did Bernard do to Odette? Tell me!!"

She slowly turned back to face him, death in her eyes. "Odette is not part of our agreement, and neither is Bernard!" she shouted back, kicking him back and holding the sheet to her body. "Besides, you don't need to know. It...it's the past. It's over. You need to ask Decius if you want to know, because I won't tell you. Although, part of me doubts he'll tell you either, what with losing his mind and all."

Snarling in frustration, Fields pushed her away the same time she kicked at him and stared angrily at her. Murder swarmed his mind like an angry hive of wasps, each sting from the wasps injecting a new flame of hatred or another plan of death. Even as he growled he felt small black holes forming around his arm. He could hear the clitter-clatters of pots and items shaking towards his growing endless eaters. She would tell him nothing, of that he was positive. He should have seen this coming. She begs him for sex and promises him answers, only to be that bratty whore she always is.
Fields narrowed his eyes and roared out in anger at her. He turned and released the worst of his anger into a fist against the wall. What was left was a gaping hole with cracks climbing from them. He stood there, staring at his work while panting like an animal. And at that moment, he was. He turned and glared at Melody again.
"Get out." he hissed. He punched the wall again, creating a twin dent in the wall. "Get out!!" he bellowed. "Get out of my apartment! Don't ever come back and don't even think of looking at me again, you disgusting whore!"

Melody didn't move, unafraid of this man or what he was capable of. "I gave you my word, Fields. You want to know about Decius, and I'll tell you. But you will never call me a whore again. If anything, you're the whore, doing what you must to get what you want, lusting for a dead woman who was the wife of your mentor. You're every bit as sickening as you find me, and you're a damn coward!" She stood off the bed, glaring at him and staying a good ways away. Melody grabbed her purse from the floor, holding it tightly. "He was right about you. You really are nothing but dirt beneath my feet, a spineless worm, a heartless b*****d. No wonder she didn't love you." Not caring that she'd hit a cord, she pulled a tiny photo from the folds of her purse, holding it up for him to see the faint, fuzzy outline of an unmistakeable blonde woman from his past...and possibly hers. "But you know that, don't you, Roth?"

Fields staggered back until his back was against the wall. When she mentioned how he was dirt beneath her feet, how he was a spineless worm and all, he... he could hear Decius' voice. No, the Decius that was still sane. Dr. Bernard Rieux. Fiel - Adler blinked in astonishment and rubbed his eyes, but it only made things worse. Standing before him was not the woman he hated so, it was Dr. Rieux, his gaze piercing and hard, making his scarred face even more intimidating.
"No wonder she didn't love you." Rieux hissed with a superior look in his glowing eyes.
Adler gasped out at the all too real scene taking place before him. "N-No.." he whispered, almost whimpered. "No... St... Stay back!" His sweaty palms were against the wall as Dr. Rieux towered over him and held out a picture of Odette, smiling and cheerful behind the counter of her candy store. Adler's eyes widened in horror, even more so when, slowly, the other doctor spat, "But you know that, don't you, Roth?"
He had had enough. "Stay back!" screamed Fields as he covered his face with his arms. His hands exposed, black holes roared from his palms in self defense and began absorbing all they could. Vases and books clattered against the ground as the holes beckoned them over.

She stayed still, dropping the photo and keeping her eyes on Fields. Melody licked her lips and sighed. Finally, she could stay put no longer. With a heavy heart, she plucked the photo from the ground and held it up, preparing to rip it in two. "Adler, I'll rip it. I'll destroy it unless you stop this madness and calm down."

But a flashback had taken her moment. Dr. Rieux was his own person at that moment and grabbed Adler by the collar mentally. "You framed me." he spat, his face scrunched up in rage and giving shape to the large diagonal scar on his face. "After everything I did for you! You are nothing, hear me? Nothing! Don't you ever let me see you again!"
Dr. Roth whimpered and shut his eyes tight again, and when he opened them everything was back to normal, if you could call it that. All of his possessions were waddling on the floor towards his black holes, which had already engulfed three student exams. Blinking a few times, he stopped the black holes and numbly dropped his arms to his sides. He said nothing, only tried to piece together everything that had happened. Did he just snap? Snap... The word felt right for this moment. It was as if all the fury in him exploded into some kind of nuclear bomb, and it brought a shred of insanity for a second. But it was over now, and now all that was left was the aftermath.
Finally lifting his gaze, Fields' eyes widened as he saw Melody about to rip apart Odette's picture. "Wait." he said and hesitantly reached a hand to it. He said nothing more, though his mouth hung open as if it meant to.

Still dazed and his mouth still opened, Fields stared at the ground before him and plodded towards the bed. He fell against the cushions and draped his arms on his knees, staring at his hands as if this were the first time he'd ever seen them.
