Finally, thinks Keetah, riddles! There at least the princess would have to think instead of just act. She listened, anticipating the riddles.

Karei continues with the story. "The first Path's riddle reads What work can one never finish? The answer to this can be many things the Princess thought. She sighs as she goes to read the next riddle to the second path. What does this message say? - G T Y O R J O T E O U I A B G T She looks at the letters as she blinds. Well that isn't helping she thoughts as she trotted to the last path and it's riddle as she reads it to see what it is. As her eyes focus on the last one reading A cloud is my mother, the wind is my father, my son is the cool stream and my daughter is the fruit of the land. A rainbow is my bed, the earth my final resting place and I'm the torment of man. What am I?
After reading the three riddles the Princess then sets her mind to think. Which of the three is the one path she needs. Though her thoughts are saying that these riddles make no sense." 1. An autobiography - Seeing the ending is when you die.. You can't write your death without knowing it. 2. 'Great Job You Got It' 3. Rain

Keetah thinks about the riddles for a short moment. "The last one is obviously a storm and I don't think she wants to go down the path with the storm 'cause it doesn't sound like it'd get her where she wants to go."
A longer time is spent thinking, "The first one . . . there are too many things it could be and none of them really work for something she might want because the easy answer is learning and you can never learn everything or maybe it's telling your own story because you can't tell the end of it or . . . there's too many things but if it's telling your own story the reason you can't do it is because you die so maybe her death is waiting on that path so she doesn't want to go there."
Keetah takes a big breath as she settles to think on the third riddle, finally she speaks, "It's a good thing the princess can read because otherwise she couldn't know any of the riddles but I can't read and I don't really know what the letters looked like or if there's an answer in the picture they make or anything and I can't figure out what they might be without being able to read I don't think at least nothing that makes any kind of sense to me right now." She seems fairly frustrated by not being able to figure out the riddle.
Then, with a slight shake of her head, she grins and hops up, "But I don't have to figure it out cause I figured out the other two and they aren't the right ones so the middle on has to be the right one!" Her grin is huge and infectious as she beams with the answer.

Karei hears her and smiles. This little mare is a smart one. He has told this story to others and most don't get even more then one of the riddles right and she has. He was happy about that. "The princess thought hard about it. The last one is either a storm or rain. both the same really... Now the first one is the story of one's life or living life.. Or maybe even learning. All in which are not needed for what I want. She looks at the middle path. Looking at the letters again. She only knows how to read these letters because of her Kawani person taught her. Sighing as she is trying to put the letters into an order where they would make sense.
The path I must take is the middle. But I still want to figure out the riddle in case it is a warning. The Dragon is watching her. He lays down as he rolls his eyes. Just go already. The Princess looks back at the Dragon with a smirk. "Oh I will seeing the middle riddle is 'Great Job You Got It' So later Dragon. This was fun. We should play again another time. She giggles as she heads done the middle path."

Keetah blinks and quirks her head to the side. "It is? How is it that? Cause . . . I want to understand so next time I can know and can solve the riddle cause I like riddles and want to solve it if I get it!"

Looking at her Karei thinks a bit. He stops his story in order to tell her. "Oh the What does this message say? - G T Y O R J O T E O U I A B G T There is a hint to solve it which is Count the letters and try splitting the letters up into groups." He gets a stick in his mouth and writes in the sand. G T Y O R J O T E O U I A B G T "Then read down Great job you got it.. See" He points it out.

Keetah watches Karei make squiggles with a stick, very impressed. She nods for a moment like she has a clue what he's talking about before shaking her head with a sigh. "It's all squiggly lines but if you say it says that then I believe that's what it says and thank you for telling me even if I don't know how you can see words in those squiggly lines cause they don't make sounds and words are sounds so seeing words in squiggles is very impressive you must be very smart!"

Karei things a bit. "Well I was taught by a Soquili who knew how to read and write. So I think I am getting it right. I might not be able to read some things but I think learning is fun." He points out as he watches her.

Keetah nods, "Learning is fun and it's more fun when you have fun and learn from the fun and there's so much out there to learn that you can always learn when you're having fun!" Her enthusiasm for the subject is evident as she bouncing, just slightly, in place as she speaks.

Nodding as he listens to her. "I Agree with you fully there. Learning is fun. And you can learn something new almost everyday. Whether it be a small fact or something that might change your out look on life." He points at as he clears his throat. He starts to tell the ending of the story. "The Dragon watched the Princess fade down the path. This was the happy ending he had a feeling that she would find. He then heads back to his home there is nothing left for him to do here. While the Dragon went home. The Princess is taking the middle path as she sees an opening. It seemed to be glowing. She then steps into a field of glowing icy blue lilies. In the middle of the field is her lover alive and well. He was looking at her. As she got closer to him the Lilies started to fade away disappearing into nothingness.
Her lover nuzzles her as she looks behind her. The Fluttercorns bowed to her and then left. This was real. She had her lover back. Soon The Prince and The Princess left and went back to their kingdom to live happily ever after."

Keetah listens to the end of the story. But she seems sad at the ending. "But . . . what about the dragon? And the Fluttercorns? Maybe the Fluttercorns are happy because there's more than one of them and they aren't alone but the dragon is all alone again and he helped with being the trials and even if he wasn't nice he wasn't really evil because he had rules he played with and he was challenging the princess to learn and grow and overcome so she could find her prince again and the prince was just there and didn't even say thank you even though he should have said thank you and all the lilies just fade away instead of being useful again because maybe the prince will die again or maybe the princess will die or their children will and if they could keep a lily then they wouldn't have to do the trials again because that's just silly because some of the trials didn't really have anything to do with being worthy just with being able."
With a sigh she settles to the ground, "Make pretend stories are much more confusing than real stories cause with real stories those in the stories keep going and you know maybe the dragon finds a princess just for him or the fluttercorns have a whole herd that they live with and the prince and princess have foals that grow up and have their own adventures."

Karei smiles. "Well this story is made up. But I did base it on real soquilis I have met. The Fluttercorns in the story are based on my Fluttercorn friends Shadow and Tsumetai. They grow rare icy blue glowing lilies in a hidden field. The Princess is based on a Royalty looking mare I came across that was looking for something more then Reality. The Prince is based on a silent stallion I once met that didn't say a lot but the look in his eyes could tell you what he wanted to say."He smiles more. "The Dragon is based on a Stallion who looked like he could pass as a fire or earth dragon though he wasn't and he doesn't have wings. And everyone that a character in that story is based on are happy and loving their lives the last time I saw them."

"Yes all happy." He points out as he watches her. This mare had much more energy then he could ever come up with in a day. He wondered how she did it. How could she have so much? He wonders more on it as he just watches her and is happy to see her in a happy mood.

Keetah grins, "I'm so glad! I was worried about the dragon cause he just ended up all alone and that wasn't happy but sad even thought the princess got her prince she could have made a friend of the dragon and they could have all been a big happy family together because your family doesn't have to look like you if you love them cause love makes a family and everyone needs a family and friends and stuff don't you think?"
