And when Poa was pinned this time it really was the last time. He'd put everything into that last attack and there was nothing left. No one could say that he hadn't given it his all. Letting the tension flow from his body, he lifted a paw to concede.
"The battle is yours." He replied, his voice sounded hoarse. "I concede."
And then, a moment later he was back on his paws, ready to move away from the duelling area for a well deserved rest. It was over now. He could relax. But for Maraba Edi, there was more preparation ahead. He dipped his head and continued: "You fought a good fight. Your new clan will be well protected with you as a member." He even managed a smile. "Do me a favour and win this, will you? It would be nice to be able to say I was beaten by the Champion."
And, with that, Poa made his way back to the crowds to find his mate...and sleep for the next few hours.
