"Awesome, thank ya." Ofelia said, sounding as sincere as possible. Even if Rep just stood on shore and told her she sucked from the beginning to the end of everything, or even if he just quickly swam in circles and she barely got to see anything, somehow or in some way the teen had managed to get him to agree to spending a period of time with her that hopefully would remain civil. It was an overly exciting prospect, the two of them finally talking like this on another basis where neither were fully injured and unable to do anything about it.
No one would totally believe her that they'd had this conversation together in the first place so if she came out learning how to swim from him bricks would be shat.
"Ah really dunno 'bout mah level'a learnin', but since Ah've tried ta teach mahself an' haven' drowned ya Ah think yer pretty good wit' me not totally clockin' out on ya." So...long as they stayed in the shallows or something. Anywhere above her breasts would likely end in her doing dead man's float for real. That thought made her chuckle inwardly, not because it was funny but because it would be ironic in a weird sort of way, and the teen grinned from where she was sitting. Swimming lessons!
. . . she'd need to buy a swimsuit. "Crap, Ah need ta buy a swimsuit. Ya think they're still sellin' 'em at the quartermaster this late in the season?"

"Good. Because if I'm responsible for the death of another person, I get taken out back like old yeller. And I don't really want to die right at this moment. I've got a lot s**t I still want to do."
As far as a swimsuit went, he had no idea about obtaining one. "It's a tropical island. I don't think there are seasons. If they have them stocked, they'll have them all year probably." As much as he longed to get back in the water, he could hardly even think about swimming right now while he couldn't even move his arms and breathing was arduous and ragged. "I don't care what you wear or what you don't."

Ofelia looked at Rep with a puzzled expression. "Who's Old Yeller?" She asked all the while really not knowing at all who that was. If it was someone famous she might have read about them in the paper, or heard about it through gossip, but as far as she knew she'd never heard of an old Yeller and the whole 'taking out back'. Did that mean something at all to her, and should she be concerned?
Those were the thoughts that totally outweighed the rest of whatever Rep was saying because he had said something she didn't understand and she was going to find out.

Rep would have sighed exasperatedly if doing so didn't cause him physical pain in his lungs. Couldn't shrug, couldn't sigh, he'd been robbed of two of his primary means of communication.
"Old Yeller's a dog in a movie. An old ******** movie. It like, protects the people who own it from like a rabid wolf. But gets rabies. And then the kid that owns it has to shoot it dead. If I ******** up many more times, I'll go the way of that dog."

"Euuweugh." Ofelia's face wrinkled into a look of 'what, really' at the mention of what the movie was about, and how Rep was comparing himself to that, and while she could easily try to buffer his ego and tell him he was more valuable than a dog and likely wouldn't be shot by anyone. . . she didn't know if she could really say that. Simon had guns and from what Ofelia knew of him he wasn't afraid to use them on anyone. The idea of Rep getting taken out back to some barn though and shot was. . . sort of ridiculously amusing in the fact it was comical. Anyone in that situation would have looked funny, really, but she kept that to herself entirely. "That sounds like a really. . . interestin'....movie. Kinda glad Ah've never heard'a it or seen it then." Really, a movie made popular by a kid shooting his dog?
Who the hell thought of these things?
But anyway Rep was looking tired, or maybe she was just starting to grow more aware of how long he could tolerate her (also, she was starting to get in pain as well) and so the teen decided it was about time to dismiss herself. "Whelp, Ah'll be headin' out, let ya get some rest. Ya need me ta send one'a the techs in ta give ya some pain meds, or sommin' ta help ya back ta sleep? Ah know Ah woke ya up, sorry 'bout that."
It took a few moments of trial, error, and swinging her torso, but eventually Ofelia got to her feet without having to use her hands to help herself up. Originally she thought and worried she might fall on her face which, without a shield, would make things worse. Also it would piss her (and maybe him) off since that would make her stay longer.Baneful that...uh...is the sound people make when they're like "whoa, really" i swear > ___ >

Rep raised a brow at Ofie. "Sort of. I didn't like it. Too ******** depressing. Dog does all that and ends up dead at the hands of the people it was trying to help. I don't care if it meant the little kid was all grown up, that little kid was a s**t."
As Ofie decided to leave Rep shook his head. "Nah, I'm all right man. I'll nod off eventually."
He leaned back on the pillow and closed his eyes with a very slow and measured sigh. "I'll see you around."

Ofelia was going to say something, like maybe 'good-bye' or 'yeah, see ya!' but there was a desire to get out and get back into her own bed that just had her nod in Rep's general direction. He looked small there, weak, and she wondered just who it was who'd really done it to him.
It wasn't her place though, wasn't her business, and the teen left a lot more quietly than she had entered. Perhaps when he was feeling better they'd talk again but for now? Rest was amazing.Baneful and that's the end! thanks as always, this was an awesome RP <3
