Rivener smiled happily at Melisande's thanks, laughing altogether too goofily for his liking. He cleared his throat and manned up, affecting a stern frown and looking as impressive as he could. He pulled his own jacket on, used to the motions and getting them properly over his wings- something Pasha had trouble with. The Scorpion chuckled at how she had one wing sticking out and almost reached out to help her, but she had spun herself into a tilt and now held onto Laz for balance. Without realizing, Riv frowned slightly, feeling jealous.
They exited and Laz did a good job of insisting they walk her home, though Riv would have preferred being alone... She let go of the other man's wrist and Riv suddenly didn't mind Laz accompanying them. Strange how it just switched like that. Riv opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted by that horrid noise from nearby: he made a face and sneered at the drunkard before glancing back towards the Muse. He was graced with a cute yawn, a tired smile, and she was floating closer to him. Of course he smiled back, red eyes going half-lidded in happy contentment... An expression which looked more sultry than anything on his features. Without realizing that she'd been thinking of his wing's shelter, Riv put a hand on her forearm and pulled her along gently, mindful of them all tilting and wobbling a little too much. He was starting to be quite dizzy himself, but it only made him snicker.
"Come on, then. Let's get you home. Though you'll have to tell us where it is because we don't know. ...Well, I don't know. Laz, you don't know, do you??" Riv glared over suspiciously, narrowing his eyes. Nah, surely Lazarus hadn't been to Melisande's house. Right?

Their disgust for the vomiting man was unanimous, as even just a little, they already put some distance between them and the drunkard. However when Lazarus caught a whiff of the stench, with both his arms he urged the other two a little further away to the side of the walkway to continue their conversation.
The glare and narrowing of eyes from Rivener was not missed by the fire Sigel at all. That was why he felt a little awkward when he fished out a small thin notebook from the pocket of his hoodie. "Well I've never been there, but I have her address right here." Fumbling a little with his fingers and squinting from his blurred vision - an effect from the alcohol, he managed to find Pasha's address after a moment. "Here..." Turning the notebook over, he showed it to Rivener and Melisande. The book even had Melisande's and her emergency person's number. Although the handwriting was less than desirable, but it was legible at least.
"I have every Raevan's address and number on here, copied from Kyou's files." He grinned proudly, although it looked a little less than dignified than how it should be normally. "Last time I found a crazy hobo Frei on the streets, and didn't know where to send him or what number to call. That's why I keep this booklet with me now always."

"I can't..." Melisande pulled up short, falling behind the two Sigels and away from Rivener's touch. "I mean...I don't...want to go home." She sounded wistful rather than petulant. There had been no part of her that wanted to admit it, but Laz had the address, and Riv the cab fare. Pasha suddenly found herself out of options. The Muse pulled her jacket tight against the front of her chest, balling the grey fabric in tiny pale fists. Aki had called her, at the Manor...and if Aki was there, Melisande couldn't be.
"Maybe...the Lab?" Her eyes were large in her face, and the breeze pulled her curls over one shoulder. Meli looked from Riv to Laz, wings spreading a bit for balance. "You have Aki? I mean..a...key? To the Lab?" She could feel the little thrill of inspiration within her, but Pasha pushed it down. It wouldn't be fair to sway them like that, but the urge to go anywhere but home was very, very strong. "Or..."
There was no where else to go. The fight with Alain, the Muses at Vi's shop... For the second time in her life, Melisande d'Pasha realized she had no idea where she could call home. Her smile wavered, just the tiniest bit.

Rivener narrowed his gaze further as Lazarus said he had her address, but when he explained he had everyone'd address, the Scorpion calmed down a little. "A crazy hobo Frei??" He repeated, scrunching up his face in an amused chuckle. Though that booklet really WAS a handy thing to have. Maybe he should transcribe all those things into his cellphone so he had them, too.
But Melisande was surprisingly unwilling to go home, moving away from Riv's touch. She looked so... so scared to go home! Rivener blinked, instantly worried, but in the next split second he had the most WONDERFUL idea. At least it seemed like a wonderful idea to his drunk brain.
"My place!" He blurted out. "I mean if you don't want to go home, my place is right nearby and there's plenty of room... Plus you'll be absolutely safe there." He grinned broardly and happily, so proud of his clever idea, but in the next instant he shot Lazarus a look of Don't ruin this!!!
The Sigel approached Pasha again and put a hand on her arm to squeeze her reassuringly. She seemed so sad... "I dunno why you don't wanna go home, but you'd be welcome to stay with either of us as long as you want." It was only polite and less pushy to include Lazarus in that choice, of course. And it would be Pasha's decision. But Riv really really REALLY thought it would be the best thing ever for her to come to HIS house. Aphi might be embarrassing come morning, but at least she'd be safe and Riv would get to talk to her a lot more in the morning! Maybe he could even call Zul over and they could all patch things up and everyone wins!!

Whatever happened to Melisande that prompted her to be homeless tonight, Lazarus had totally no idea at all and currently drawing blanks. It's difficult to think when one is so drunk and head feels so heavy.
However, he can still respond and think rationally at least, which is different in Rivener's case. "Of course I have a key to the Lab!" Fumbling a little, he fished it out from his hoodie pocket and showed it to them both. It was attached to a jade key chain that Xiu gave him for his birthday. Lazarus had a tendency to reveal too much when he is drunk. He would have opened his wallet to show them the contents if they wanted to. Smiling drunkenly, since Melisande suggested going to the Lab, he would have invited her over officially too when Rivener suddenly blurted out his offer.
Then, there was that look.
The look that Rivener had thrown him, actually made him felt colder as his smile totally disappeared and his eyes widen slightly. He had never felt such hostility from the scorpion before. Rivener is not giving him a lot of choices here.
"Y-you're.. always welcomed at the Lab." He gulped audibly as he spoke, his voice wavered ever so slightly as he threw cautionary glances at the scorpion. Pausing for a moment, he added hastily. "B-but Rivener is right, his house is much closer than the Lab." The final decision is up to the muse, since Rivener too gave her options. Admittedly the Lab was much bigger and has less occupants. But Lazarus did not dare to tell her that when Rivener gave him such a look just moments before.

"Thank you~" Melisande smiled, her eyes closing sweetly behind another gust of curls as the breeze stirred. One wing poked to the side as she tilted, and she put her hand back on Rivener's arm to steady herself. The Muse had missed the look entirely, and instead contented herself reaching slowly for the key. Her hand closed too early, fingers brushing only air.
She missed! She missed because she was tipsy. "Tipsy. 'Ladies don't get drunk.' " Pasha mimicked Alain, and covered her smile with the tips of her fingers. Even through the mango fog, she realized she couldn't face the Doctor like this. He surely would disapprove!
"Your house." She poked Riv gently in the shoulder with one slender finger. There wasn't a lot of give. She poked him again, gently, to test.
But...the Lab! "Laz, could I..." Oops, she was still facing Rivener. Melisande twisted, bangles chiming brightly against her wrist as she reached for Laz and settled one of her hands on his. "Could we go to the Lab sometime soon, though? I'd really, really like to go!"

Rivener chuckled at the way Pasha was acting, talking to herself and giggling and poking one wing out for balance-... she was so damned adorable. When she decided to go to HIS house for the night, he puffed up like a peacock, chest out and grinning so proudly, like he'd won some kind of contest. He HAD to call Zul and tell him. Then they could all have a talk and things would all work out! The Muse poked him in the arm again and he laughed, wondering what that was all about. Did he have something there? While she turned to speak to the other Sigel, Riv peeked at his own shoulder and brushed it off. There. That should be plenty.
Now all he had to do was wait for the girl to say her goodbyes to Laz. "You're going to like my house, I'm pretty sure, Melisande. Meli. Mel. Meli-melo." He laughed at that, shaking his head. She was too ladylike to have a nickname, so he corrected himself: "Sorry, Melisande. You're gonna like my house! My room's up top, there's a neat skylight! And there's a bath tub with jets! And downstairs is all wood-panelly, and it always smells like something's been cooking, and the yard is full of lush plants all out of season, because you know, Eiry. Oh, and I guess Aphi and Isi will be there too, of course. And there's a pair of guest bedrooms you can pick from, but I'd go with the yellow one because it faces the back yard. It's less noisy, and you know, in the morning there's that light thing. Or if you prefer you can have my room and I'll go in the guest room. Because my room's the best one." He grinned, then suddenly realized Laz couldn't get a word in edgewise. The Scorpion hunched up his shoulders apologetically and smiled at Lazarus. "Sorry, I'll shut up."
It was hard to just stand there and wait, so Riv began bobbing up and down happily, shoving hands in his pocket. Oh, right, cell phone! He brought it out and flipped it open, starting to tap text in frantically and muttering under his breath at all the errors-... well, who cared. Zul would get the idea. Melisand n me drunk at my home. come talk to her and friends and stuff. Luv ya! He grinned, so proud of himself again as he pushed send. He was going to completely FIX what was between those two.

And there you have it, Melisande chose Rivener's house, much to Lazarus's relief. His shoulders sagged visibly as he let out a soft relaxed sigh, he didn't even knew he was so tense just seconds ago. He couldn't imagine what would happen if she chose to go back with him instead.
But then the muse reached over and touched his hand, with the key still gripped in his balled fist. Before he could say anything though, they were distracted when Rivener chimed in ecstatically about the details of his house. Too much details to be honest, the fire Sigel was lost halfway through those descriptions. He could only nod as he blinked slowly.
When the scorpion is finally done, Melisande still had her hand on his. "Sure." He smiled softly as he replied, patting her hand gently with his other. "The Lab is always open to you. Just give us a call first before you come ok? Just in case there's no one in." Then gently he pulled his hand away from her's, pocketing the keys and kept his hand in with the keys.
"I suppose this is where I take my leave now." He said as he began to float away. "I'm heading around the corner over there to take the bus home. You're going in that direction right?" Lifting a finger, he gestured towards the direction behind Rivener, which is the opposite direction from the bus stop. Cocking a smile, he waved at the two of them. "I'll see you guys again the next time I see you. And Rivener, don't you dare be impolite to her." He couldn't help but added the last bit as he let out a hearty laugh before turning around and began his journey home.

Rivener talked a lot and then pulled out a phone and just as suddenly fell quiet. Melisade blinked owlishly, and glanced back at Laz for translation. What just happened?
The other Sigel didn't bother to explain, but patted her hand reassuringly. The key had vanished, Pasha noted with a twinge. She'd truly wanted to go to the Lab, but she knew her objective was out of reach after a night like this. "Thank you, Lazarus. I had...fun!" Surprisingly, it was true! It was the first time in a long time Melisande had relaxed and enjoyed herself. Laz was already retreating, so she favored him with a bright smile instead of a hug. She fanned the fingers on one hand and closed them slowly in farewell. "Bye! Have a good...bus!"
Was that what people said? She twisted to peer up at Rivener, once again unconsciously floating a good few inches lower than him. "Will he be okay? All alone?" Concern slid over her sweet face, a shadow of a memory they both shared.

Rivener laughed as Meli wished Laz a "good bus". "You're drunk," he stated between chuckles, looking so amused. The Muse floated closer, lower, and Riv spread out a wing to cradle her in safety-... and to keep his own balance a little, it must be said. They began towards his house, Pasha's question failing to draw the same instant memory from Rivener. He'd long since stopped thinking about that night every day. "Who, Laz? Of course he'll be okay! Don't worry, we've done this hundreds-... na, more like dozens and dozens of times I guess. For a few years now. He'll get home fine. It's probably muscle memory by now, turning that corner, getting on the bus, he would be able to do it even if he was black-out drunk! Besides, who would mess with someone that has those big horns and wings and-... Oh."
It finally dawned on him what the girl was worried about. Riv blinked for a moment in surprise that she could still be worried for the other's safety, over a year after Roux was gone. He smiled reassuringly and inched closer to give Melisande a one-armed hug. "Don't worry. Lazarus won't get caught by surprise again. He can take care of himself."
Hoping to lift the mood a little, Rivener launched into a very bad rendition of "twinkle twinkle little star", his go-to song for around Melisande apparently. He'd memorized the words, but the drunken haze was keeping most of them hidden, and he laughed self-deprecatingly as they rounded the corner opposite Lazarus's. "Come on, help me out here! Twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are. Up above the world so-... up above the world so bright?" He'd continue to sing until he could get a laugh out of the flower-haired girl.

"Tipsy!" She corrected, and eased into the shelter of his wing. A mane of loose curls framed Melisande's face as she smiled up at him, twin kisses of blush high on her cheeks from the drinks. Was he...singing?
"Like a Scorpion in the night!" It didn't take much to cheer Pasha up. Just like that, the memories fled, and her sweet voice lifted merrily along side Rivener's. She laughed and leaned against the other Sigel, relaxing as she listened to him sing.
How I wonder what you are...
