By now, the almost blindingly white clad Angel had crossed the ballroom to gawk at the rather 'inspiring' ice carving. Whoever the artist had been, she'd make sure to find out and suggest the madame to make a volumous comission. She could see it already, a glamorous ice themed party... furs, champagne... rubbing interestingly shaped sculpture parts over the naked skin-
"Really? Of all places, that's where my head is going?"
The good thing was that at least it made her partially visible cheeks flush and giving her an even more believable embarassed expression, if the slightly dropped jaw and the gloved hand poised on her glossed lips wasn't enough. And it was natural for a pure, innocent, naïve little angel to stare at such crude details out of awe and disbelief... right? A gentleman decided to break the ice for the Angel though, with a light touch on the bare shoulder and a naughty suggestion that gave her the perfect excuse to giggle lightly and scoot away.
It was getting somewhat ridiculous. Five, ten minutes had passed and she was still on her own? Angel could very much just hit up someone she knew for conversation, there was no shortage of such company, but not only would that take that person out of their little planned venture, they were all mostly accompanied as well. No, the white one needed someone who was alone, contrasted with her costume preferrably and male - the mood for feminine chitchat was pretty much non-existant. Her violet eyes peered through the crowd, looking for any particular lone soul that fit the criteria. It actually wasn't that hard, to find a match, but her mind had decided to be picky and going for the most attention grabbing figure. She found herself going back to the entrance, in the general direction of the Peacock King (he had such a horrid taste... Purple? Trully a boy...), and stopping at the side of a dark crimson robbed figure. He seemed... strangely alone in such a sea of people. A smile curled the corners of the angel's lips. Perfect!
Her hand reached out to the caped man's shoulder, greeting him with a small bow as he acknowledged her presence. "Death, such a lonely path... would you accept the company of a little lost angel to ease your burden?" Her voice was as sweet as her smile, as if she was but a lost sheep in a sea of masks looking for comfort.

A roar of laughter came far off to the side of the ball, close to the doors that lead out to the garden where Lord Devil, that was Cameron, had his arms around two lovely ladies in their finest while three others circled around him. There was something about him that charmed the ladies, even in his devil's costume. Perhaps that gave him the edge, didn't women like the bad boys after all? Yet Cameron was ever watchful of the people around him. There was a part of him that sort of wished he was born into the riches but then he wouldn't have as much as freedom as a Rom.
Cameron's gaze went over only to the female population taking in the sight of women that was a Fairy Queen, and a goddess of what appeared to be earth, something he did like the most since he was the child of the earth to an angel, much to his extreme amusement in regards to his own costume and so on. Lovely creatures all of them. Yet would he dare to pursue them just to enjoy their company? Yes he would. First he would enjoy the company of his harem of noblewomen and then he'll make the round to the rest the party offered. Such a devilish man.
Ah but see, Cameron was also parched and excused himself by giving his lady admirers kisses on their hands lingering longer than was proper to walk away in a gait that said volumes about his confidence. He walked surveying the masked faces of people going to get a bit of drink for himself.

Kali was escorted to the dance floor and began to dance with a young and rather handsome nobleman with dark hair and light brown eyes. His outfit was ornate with jewels in sapphires, amethyst and emeralds. His cool colors were to represent the water or some such as he explained. Kali smiled at him, following his graceful steps around and around, her dress moving around her while the coins made soft tinkles from each movement almost in rhythm with the music. The gyspy queen, or heiress to the position among her troupe, danced around laughing carefree while with nimble fingers she managed to remove a jewel of each that was on the nobleman.
It was hard to resist such a thing. They were pretty, shiny and they would fetch a good price for a single one to be able to feed her troupe for a good while. Of course it was the thrill of removing such finery from someone who didn't really need all of it. Weren't people supposed to share? Lady Luck spinned happily with the jewels tucked quickly into the hidden pocket she had in her dress and curtsyed deeply to the nobleman when their dance ended. Giving a smoldering smile, she walked away to swim through the throngs of people hoping some sort of excitement went her way.

Lotte watched Sebastian make his way to her, eyeing his costume. It was very unique, and well done, but she had no idea where he had gotten it from. "Hello, Sebastian. You look good in your costume of Bayrel skin," she complimented. "Where on earth did you find someone to make it for you so quickly?" She was sure he didn't have such a thing when she had first hired him. The boy (grown man, more like it, though it was hard for Lotte to see him in such a way; something about the cook brought out her maternal instincts, and often referred to him as a boy in her head,) had barely had the clothes on his back. He had possibly begun to find a place for himself, it seemed.
Pykichi was startled out of her gawking by a low laugh behind her and simple touch at her shoulder. She jumped, and turned to see who had caught her at such a disadvantage. Altais! She blushed furiously, and greeted the man. That's what she got for spacing out and focusing on the clothes. She attempted to recover her standing, and curtseyed towards Altais with a polite smile. As usual, when Pykichi was startled and unsure, old habits kicked in. In this case, she saw before her a patron of Bobbins and Pins.
"Good evening, Altais. How are you this evening?" Pykichi asked. She noticed the long ribbon that acted as a blindfold as the one she herself had hemmed not long ago, and her smile widened. Quickly, familiarity came on her. After all, for tonight, she wasn't just a seamstress. She was a member of society and a guest at the Harvest Celebration. Slightly swinging the miniature broom from side to side with a care to not hit anyone, Pykichi watched Altais. "You look handsome, though I'm not sure... What are you dressed as?" He didn't seem to be wearing anything out of the normal day to day wear. "Not that you need a costume necessarily, since it didn't say that it was expressly required... but it's so much fun to pretend to be something else every once in a while, don't you think?" This was said with all the naivety of a girl who had spent her entire life in a planned, controlled environment.

~ GM Interruption ~ » Two vials stood out amongst the plethora of liquor. Surely they were not meant for human consumption! How did they get there? No matter. There was just enough for the two of them to take home with. A lable was on them that read ' For Azrein Consumption', so that ruled out knocking them back to see what the effect would be. They could wait to get home to try the effects out. Happy Halloween!

Azreth's eyes saddened at Noah's apology, knowing it to be utterly sincere. His lips became a fine line for a moment as his fingers gently squeezed the Cursed's shoulder in a wordless gesture of empathy and support. Regaining his composure, the King lightly clapped the man on his back, surreptitiously eying what Noah had marked in the ledger. Murderer. Well, he supposed it was fitting, in a way. It was a premonition of his own role in life, but it wasn't a preordained, for-sure thing, not if Azreth had a say about it. Azreth smiled warmly at Noah and leaned forward, whispering a few words into the man's ear, his breath stirring a few strands of his hair. "I've done some research, and I might've found something to put the urges into remission. See me after the gathering's over, my friend."
Azreth smiled and waves at Nick as the man walked past, eyes and ears tuned for any signs of danger. The King smiled and shook his head ruefully. The man needed to learn to enjoy himself. With a start, Azreth remembered his manners. "Ah! Raven, this is my friend whom I met some time ago, but until the gathering is over, simply call him ah --" Azreth eyed his outfit. "Sapphire."
Altais blinked behind his blindfold at Pykichi's words, and he frowned. Ah, he knew he had forgotten something. He smiled in chagrin and scanned the sea of people, and one of his Serpents immediately strode up to him, waiting for orders. The assassin eyed the man's costume critically; it was that of a wolf, complete with fanged mask and tail. It would go well with what he was wearing, and it was quite fitting -- he was, after all, the top of the food chain here. Without a word, Altais took both mask and tail from the man, nodded curtly, and the man spun on his heel and went back to his post. Smiling at Pyki, the Demon fixed the canine mask to his face, tail to the back of his belt, and gave a small laugh. "Better, my Lady?"
He gave an exaggerated spin and bowed when he was once again facing her. "And I must admit, you look absolutely ravishing this evening -- you far outshine any of the well-to-do Ladies here, if my opinion counts for anything." Altais took her hand in his and pressed his lips to the back of her hand -- a far leap from protocol, as his lips made contact with her skin. The furred muzzle of the mask brushed against her wrist as he straightened and placed his hand on her shoulder. "Tell me, how is business these days?" As they spoke, the Demon searched the crowd for Cairne. Finding him flirting with a Sk'het, he smiled behind his mask and allowed himself to relax.

The Raven eyed the Peacock beneath the billed mask critically. Did he really want to know what went on between him and this 'Sapphire? No. No, he didn't. He wasn't even remotely interested. It was the furthest thing from his mind. For the sake of the young king's ego, he played along by simply nodding.
There wasn't enough drink in the world for all the stuff the Alchemist had to put up with regarding Azreth.
Hell, the King even ignored the dammned signature that was kinda alarming, or should be alarming had it not been one of those fancy dress parties. Zel found himself looking for a distraction and found it in a large looming figure that could only be the Duke. Without so much as a 'good bye', he grumbled something about needing to check on the drinks and headed in the complete opposite direction... Towards the tall man that had entered recently.
He approached, his fully gloved fingers touching the other in an elegant point. Zel grinned and said through gritted teeth to the Grand Duke, "Dear gods above, save me from His nonsense. He's going to get himself killed. " This wasn't anything profound, as exasperation towards the Royal family was normal. A bit louder and a bit more on the normal party chatter, he gently nudged the man with an elbow, "The missus decided to stay at home, I see? "

Thalanir grinned and turned to wrap his arms around his mate, giving her a loving kiss on her lips and staring lovingly through his mask at her. "You look lovely, my dear mouse." He reached up to tweak her nose teasingly.
Aila rolled her eyes at the pair. "I'm going to go get some food...." She said, stomach rolling at the thought of them, a killer and a healer with no direction that used to hate elves, had found each other and with it, love, and Aila, had been burned every time she felt herself fall. The small angel made her way to the little snack bar and began snacking on a little pumpkin shaped treat that was absolutely delicious.
Sebastian grinned at Lotte, not that she could see through his mask, but maybe she could see the twinkling in his eyes. "Well.. I made it. I caught it in the fields when I was on my way to get supplies one day. Decided that the hide was lovely and so I skinned it and gave Paimon the meat. Then when I heard about this ball I found my use for it." He gave a small bow, hand tucked gallantly behind his back. He straightened back up and looked back at Lotte, leaning close to talk quietly. "This may be inappropriate since you ARE my boss.. but perhaps you could save a dance for me?" he requested softly.

"She has been rather odd lately. Excellent costume by the way. Very elegant." Edward smiled at one of his best friends. The disturbing part was that this man's cousin was also his friend. But Ed would not dwell on these implications tonight. "Quite the popular place tonight. I feel a little out of place not surrounded by hay...or paperwork...or both."

Kyrielle's smile widened as as she was gripped in a hug by Thal. "You like it?" She said, twisting out of his arms and turning slowly for him to see, after all, he had paid for it. "Aila helped me with it a lot. I don't know what I would have done without her help." Taking Thalanir's hand, she went up to the guest book, scrawling Kyrielle Lian in an elegant script. "I wonder if Reoakee will be here again. Do you think so Thalanir?" Her voice was soft as it had been before, staying close to his side before they entered the actual festivities. "We'll have to try to keep an eye out for her, I don't know if we'd even be able to recognize her because of all the masks. But it would be nice to see her again!" Kyri took a few steps towards the entrance where Aila had gone. "We should probably keep an eye on Aila as well..."

"A lonely path, but a necessary one to balance out the joy one receives from the company of an Angel during the journey," Nick said as he bowed, taking her hand in his and pressing the lips of his mask to his thumb in a kiss as was the custom. A look from the King had told him to take a bit more of a break - enjoy himself - and what better way than to enjoy the view before him? Straightening, he lowered their hands and gave a bit of a flourish - silver bracelets at his wrist catching the light. "If you are lost, perchance I can help you find your way home again, though admittedly, it's hard to say yet if I'd not rather keep you beside me for as long as possible. It has been a long time since I've had the chance to bask in the light that you shine. In comparison, all others here pale before your beauty...." She really was quite a sight, few did truly compare, and her costume truly suited her. He didn't recognize her, but considering it was masquerade ball, it wasn't surprising.

With an internal snort, the Raven cast a half hearted glare back at the pompus bird and the blue gentleman before resigning himself to a sigh. Scratching just beneath the collar of his shirt, Zel nodded in understanding. "Ah, that seems to be the way of things lately. But it's better for her to be safe and out of the way. " It took him a few moments to register the compliment of his signature costume. Really, he was quite tickled that so many enjoyed the perfectly preened attire.
"Thanks. And try to relax. See, " Zel motioned towards one of the oddly placed decorations. A few haybales. Ta-daah! "There is hay here. You just need to relax. Oh, have you met that Ram fellow? Quite the chap. Sounds kinda like my late uncle... Ah well, ghosts and thin veil this time of season. " He rolled his shoulders, the impression was one of a bird settling into place, and gazed around the room once more.
So many seemed to be flittering in in all colors, it was a delight to see. Still, something could go wrong, but when did anything planned go correct? Especially when everyone on the island had been invited regardless of social status.

Taking the short bottle Reo nodded. “Thank you. I think it will be just what I’m looking for.” She looked at her full glass with distaste. It was full of the unpleasant liquor but she wasn’t about to just set it aside and waste the drink. Swallowing she grimaced and tipped the drink back and drank it swiftly. “eck.” It burned all the way down. Coughing once she blinked as tears formed at the corner of her eyes. She mentally figured it was a stupid mistake, but oh well only the cat was really paying attention if at all. With the old liquor out of the glass she took the squat cider and poured herself a drink she could take and savor. Holding it up to her lips she took a sip. It was much sweeter than the other kind and had a pleasant softer burn. It was much better. “Thanks so much. I’ll be headed out unless I need more help finding another drink, then fabulous feline I assure you, this fox will be hunting you down.” Nodding at the feline Reoakee moved a bit further down the drink line holding onto her glass in one hand and her bottle of cider in the other looking for a good spot to camp out. It was then that she noticed the pink vile for Azrein consumption, she figured she would take it home and give it to Alu-lote later since Luin had gotten the last treats Reoakee had gotten from the flower festival. Picking it up she slipped it in her inner pocket at her waistline before picking up and focusing on her cider dink. She was not going to let this gem go until it was all gone, good liquor was just to hard to find. Looking around she spotted an area that had sugary treats. Just the thing to go with a sweet drink she meandered over that way and ended up next to a little angel. "Hello there."(Thank you pudds) ---- She nodded to his comment. “Well festivities do perk the spirits of many people so it’s hardly a surprise that a festival or party of some kind is held a few times throughout the year. Especially with things the way they have been as of late.” She held onto her champagne flute feeling it’s texture and hardness wither fingertips. It was cool still which was somehow comforting with the way things were. She listened to the Ram’s words and was a bit surprised. She had thought that just keeping her ears still no one would really notice. “Well I do work at a shop where all kinds of things can be found. I made my outfit as well as that of my friend who looks like a fox tonight. Perhaps if you look you’ll see her.” Avoiding answering the question she figured she would send him on a looking expedition with that line, hopefully he wouldn’t see the blush that was dotting her cheeks. Nothing she said had been a lie per say, but it was odd to say something that wasn’t the clear truth. It was making her insides squirm very uncomfortably.

Athari quirked her mouth looking down at the male who called himself a jester. He really did seem to be perturbed that she wasn't laughing at his costume...was she supposed to be laughing. She felt momentarily put on the spot idly looking around from figure to figure as she collected her thoughts. "Mayhaps you should put on an act for those around us to witness your talents?" Her head tilted to one side as if speaking in thought more so to herself than to him, her fingertips thumbing her staff causing the skulls and bones to shake ominously together. "If you are indeed a...jester of a court, then entertainment would be...suited." She nodded as if to affirm her statement offering a well meaned toothy grin to the other. As if to urge him, she bowed holding her free hand out to him backing a little out of the way to give him room. "Please, kind Jester?" Athari requested as she righted herself, her fingertips brushing against her hair a little more out of habit than anything else. This would prove interesting if he could pull it off.

"You don't have to get all flustered," Manga reassured Eir gently. "Emotions happen. There's no reason to be embarrassed." She started sketching again, the charcoal flitting about the page to create majestic miniatures of the guests she saw. If she recognized one, she'd etch their name next to their portrait.

"Of course!" Tkal replied cheerfully. "I aim to please." He seemed to draw a wooden ball out of nowhere, a trick he'd spent some time mastering. He tossed it into the air and a minute later he was juggling five of them. He hummed quietly as he hopped around and juggled, his expression hidden behind his mask. Even so, he smiled when he heard comments and clapping sent his way. "I hear people like this sort of stuff, so I thought I'd try it," he said to Athari.

Eliana chuckled softly under her breath at the fox's reaction to her first drink. The elf liked her drinks strong, personally; the burn that reminded you that you were still alive, and yet, at the same time, helped to dull the pain. Sometimes, the stronger, the better, depending on her mood. This was a party atmosphere, so she was keeping it balanced tonight. Nothing too crazy, nothing too strong needed. Just a nice buzz to float through the festivities. As the fox made her leave, Eliana lifted her glass in mock salute, chuckling. "Of course. This kitty knows her drinks," she answered simply, surprisingly at ease with the exchange. She didn't seek out conversation very often, especially with strangers she hadn't at least observed from a distance first, but...around a well-stocked liquor table? She could let down her prickly wall, at least for a moment. Pleased with her latest creation, she was about to take some time away from the table to look around the rest of the party for a while, when an odd-colored glass vial caught her attention. Eyes narrowing, she stepped closer and picked up the green vial, then held it up to the light for inspection. For Azrein use only? Well, perhaps it was best it didn't go into her glass then. Still, she wasn't about to leave it lying about, as someone else had apparently done. She had few places to put the thing, at least, places on her person that were concealed...and not already concealing an 'emergency' blade or two...but a glance downward caused her to chuckle. With a practiced glance to see if anyone were watching, she slid the vial down into her ample cleavage. A slight adjustment, a smirk, and she was on her way to do some mingling. (Thanks, Pudds! <3) Fancy nobles, and some a little less well-off, like herself, all moving, speaking, cavorting about. You could genuinely tell from the quality of the costume where everyone had come from, but not always. She knew that she herself wouldn't likely be mistaken for any noble, but...she had taken care with what she had, so she would at least seem to appear above her own station. It was a nagging temptation at the back of her mind, this much coin casually flouncing about the room, but she wasn't here to pocket trinkets, no matter how much they might be worth. There were much more valuable things to be attained; like information. Knowledge was key. Her movements took her past a hooded Death, a glowing Angel, and an obnoxiously loud Devil of some sort, obviously set on carousing for women tonight. Ugh. Eliana's mask helped to hide any trace of disgust as she quickly moved on to much less unsavory sectors of the room. Her eyes were drawn to swift movement and she focused on a man dressed as a Jester, who had begun juggling. Well, at least he seemed able to fill the role he'd taken on tonight. Nearing the Jester and his female companion...and apparently a small growing crowd...Eliana lifted her glass in greeting, eyes glittering with amusement through her mask. "Cheers for a skilled fool!"
