More than a puddle?
｡ ﾟPyre is about as complex as they come. He holds very little interest in the world around him, nothing more beyond a passing glance. Yet he is polite, almost formal with how he treats people. He is extremely morally grey, with no true drive to help further either sides ambitions. His loyalty I suppose would be won by the highest bidder, but then again not exactly. Pyre is willing to help you for a price, the more you ask of him, the higher the price. There are rules to what he can and can not do. He is renowned for his 'ability to grant favors' which is in essence what he does. You may pay in whatever means you deem fit, souls, jewels, this that or the other, and he will grant you a favor equal to what you have given. You may hold onto that favor or you may ask him to grant it as soon as you pay. During these transactions he is straight to the point, he is formal, but he does not try to persuade you one way or the other. He tells you the price and you get to decide if it's worth it. In the end he seems not to care either way. Despite his disinterest in the world he is more than willing to hold a conversation. As a matter of fact he hold conversations with Iten the skull beside him all the time. It seems most people just don't have the want to stick around for very long. ﾟ ｡

｡ ﾟKaida is a fierce little narcissist. She thinks herself perfection walking and because of that she tries to live up to higher expectations. She doesn't like getting her fur dirty and she really does believe fully that she is the best of her siblings. However don't for one moment believe she can't take care of herself. She is a fierce lady when she has to be, she doesn't have a peridot gem for nothing. She can be fierce she just prefers not to be. She likes to be doted on even though she tends to look down on others. She is very judging and if you don't agree with her she can become extremely agitated. Her body is a temple, and she is it's goddess, you better learn to worship in the right way. ﾟ ｡

｡ ﾟTheir birth hadn’t been a pleasant thing, not exactly. Their mother had been grossly misled where their father was concerned. Though she herself was extremely pleased with the prospect of children, as their birth neared she became increasingly aware of the darker side of her lover. She tried, oh how she tried to bring him around, to stick it out, and to make her family work. It was for naught though, around the kits seventh birthday he vanished taking their daughter with him. She had awoken to her son screaming at the entrance to their den; once she had finally managed to calm him down she got the full story.
Their father, Ume, had picked Ela up in his mouth, but the moment his teeth had touched her Ela had thrashed about effectively waking her twin. Pharo had started away and grabbed for his sibling, they had clung to each other as Ume had drug Ela out. Ume threw his own son to the ground with a harsh swipe from his front paw as he dove off into the night with Elawin. Arina, their mother, had done her best to bring her daughter back, but as days turned into weeks, and weeks to months and eventually months to years she lost hope.
While Pharo was raised with the love and care a kit needs, Ela lived through a veritable hell. The years eventually blended together for her, and she became a hollow creature with the smallest remnants of her past self clinging like bits of fabric on a skeleton.
It would be some years later that things would take an unexpected turn. Pharolain sat by his mother’s bedside, her breathing shallow and the coughs wracking her body. She wiggled her tail slightly at him, a smile on her maw. “Do not be sorrowful Pharry. Look towards the future. It is bright, yours is a light that cannot be dimmed so easily.” Arina whispered softly, lifting a paw to pat the male’s head. Pharolain closed his eyes, blinking back tears as he rubbed his head against his mother’s. “But I will be alone.” He whispered, having never been on his own before it was a thought that terrified him. “No, one day, I know you will find her. Our sweet Elawin is out there and I know that one day you will see her again. You are never alone, for you are a twin. Twins are always connected.” Arina stated softly. She didn’t exactly mean for Pharolain to make it his life’s work to find his sister but that was how he took it. His mother’s dying wish was for him to find his twin, to find Ela and he would do that.
It would be several more years before he picked up on any sort of trail. He would change over that time, from the sweet, respectful, and dutiful Ulaya to be replaced by someone reckless and selfish. He, without really knowing it, turned into something like his father. He had a mission, and nothing and no one was going to stop him.
Pharo tracked the cult, for that was truly what his father was a part of, to the caves they resided in. Here he watched, and here he learned of just what had become of their darling Elawin. The softness that she once possessed was gone, the gentle tones, the love of life, the bright eyes all dulled and diluted; the female he watched hardly seemed like the Elawin he remembered at all. She was treated as some sort of dark sacrificial priestess; the abuse she had suffered evident in the way she moved and the matting in her fur. Her head hung low, her eyes glazed over and downcast; she walked with a perpetual limp on her front right leg and she was never left alone. In a way she seemed almost defeated, as if there was no light in her world anymore. It filled Pharo with a rage he hadn’t tasted before this.
That night, while most in the compound slept he snuck in, killing three guards on his way to release Ela from her captive state. What he was met with, however, wasn’t the open ended joy he had been expecting. When he burst forth into her sleeping area she started so violently that she cracked her shoulder off the rocks behind her. “Who are you?!” She asked her voice alarmed and terrified. “Get out of here! You aren’t supposed to be in here!” Her back was arched as she spoke, her head lowered and she had pressed herself into the wall behind her with such fervor that she was dislodging small stones.
“Ela… Ela it’s me. It’s Pharolain, your twin, don’t you remember me?” The bigger male asked, his chest and maw soaked with the blood of those he had slain on his way here. She started and slowly, so painfully slowly, lifted her gaze to his face. Her eyes were wary and frightened but something in them seemed to spark lightly. She sniffed at him, her ears pressed hard back against her head. “Pharry? Is this… is this real? Is it really you?” She asked softly, inching the smallest bit forward.
“Of course it is Elly, I’ve come to save you.” He stated as he stepped forward and was met with the feeling of his twin shoving her head up under his chin. It was then the first bellows of others could be heard down the hall. “We have to get out of here.” She whispered, poking her now blood streaked head around him to look at the entrance. “Well then come on.” He stated, rather jolly for the situation at hand.
They bolted from the confines of Elawin’s prison and ran. She was slower than he but he helped her along; they ran until it was impossible to draw anything but short, panting breaths into their lungs. Three days were spent in this fashion, until they were sure they were far enough away to slow the pace a bit.
Things are better now; a month spent together has healed old wounds but opened up new questions. Pharolain wonders at the person he has become, his twin’s fear causing him to wonder at the choices he has made. While she is skittish and scared, she is growing stronger by the day. She relies heavily on him, and hates herself for it. Things are better, but they are not perfect and it’s an open debate on if they ever will be. ﾟ ｡
