Rep took a bit to actually get up off the table this time, watching Melvin with a dopey sort of interest as he spoke, staring without even realising he was doing it. "I just slept with whores." he grunted. "I could get them to lie still and shut the ******** up. I couldn't do that with normal bitches. And I had money I could waste, it didn't mean s**t. I never had to share anything." He grinned stupidly. "I like my things. My stuff. I wouldn't want bitches touching it all and giving me their stupid ********' opinions." And then everything had changed here and he shared everything without complaint.
"And nah man, its not hard, its easy. It just works. They know what I'm like, I have a good idea with them what they are like. The only strain is like I guess the physical, but my libido can handle it."
He looked puzzled though at the idea of doing something to win Jordan over. "I don't know what I could do. I know what he likes but I'm not smart enough to do any of it. He likes to read, but I already tried to sort his books for him, and I think I did it all wrong."
He finally hefted himself off the desk, giving Melvin a sad look. "There's not much I could do that I'm not already doing now." The drugs were really starting to kick in as he found himself musing that maybe he could build him a ******** jenga tower and not knock it down every few minutes.

Melvin was rubbing a hand down his face, trying to wake himself up, and dropped his hand down to stare at the tower. Was it wobbling or was his eyes completey screwed over right now. Seeing as gravity wasn't knocking this down yet, he knew it was the drugs. Maybe they should have called the quits a while back. Then again, how long did he go with WIlson? How many rounds had it been now? What time was it?
As Rep's words just poured out, Melvin was focusing on just grabbing a Jenga piece. "Well Jordan isn't a whore, so you need to play the game." Was Melvin's hand straight? He hoped it was as he tried for a piece.
"You're not dumb, Rep. I'm not asking you to do rocket science. You were with this guy for nearly 6 months officially, and whatever unofficially you weren't. You know enough to come up with a good idea. Saying you're dumb is a excuse to not put any work into anything. I can't stand bs like that. You can't expect ..." It was hard to think clearly. "... to cross your arms and wiggle your nose and Poof! Things work out for you. If you can't think of something, just write a list of all the things Jordan likes. That helps to brainstorm." Melvin waved with his other hand. "Go on. Say stuff. List. No. Wait first." Melvin went for another piece just to make sure he didn't - oh good. He didn't knock it over.
"Okay, now list."

Rep was enjoying the weird fuzzy sort of buzz he felt, and was starting to assume Melvin's own shakiness was because he was totally warming up to him. Friendly people looked off their face right?
"M'not dumb? Really? You think that?" He took a deep breath and exhaled "Thanks man. Cause I was starting to doubt my own brain cause ..this game and s**t. Can't think straight, thinking in fuzzy wibblies."
"I'm not wiggling my nose right." He said matter of factly. "I'm trying, but fine I can brainstorm, I'm just ******** I'm no good at listing. I don't know what people like. Jordan likes well. He likes.." his gaze went unfocused as he thought about it. "Coffee." A memory of the sharp rich smell of caffeine in the laziest of mornings made him smile to himself. "He likes coffee cause it wakes him up. And like I said books, he's so ********' smart and clever, like you wouldn't even believe." Drumming his fingertips on his chin he added. "I don't know if its him or me who like showers." he mused aloud. "Both maybe."
"Both of us like to fight. Ferros is amazing." Tracey agreed. "But you can't gift someone a fight. Not easily. See? There's not much I can give him other than the things I do."
Tripping balls apparently made his hand steadier as he managed to take out another couple of bricks.

He just wanted to rest his head on the jacket he folded on the tabletop, but he was in the middle of talking, and there was still this damn tower in front of him. Mocking him. Melvin wanted to punch a architect for no reason other than this game, and he wasn't even the punching sort. It was just - THIS GAME!!
"This game isn't smarts. It's about concentration and dex...dex... Oh what is the word." He snapped his fingers a few times. "Dexterity!" That was it. He knew he'd find it. Damn tricky words.
As Rep listed off what Jordan liked, all Melvin could think of was a decent cup of coffee and a nice shoulder. No wonder Ro was going after Jordan, but then again, who didn't like showers and coffee? Somewhat dazed in a fantasy of drinking some hot coffee at a nice cafe, one arm propped on the table, head in his hand, and reaching out to take a few pieces, he thought of something.
"Breakfast in bed. You ever try that? He seems like a morning person. Make him a really good cup of coffee, make breakfast, take it to him before he wakes up. Not that s**t from the cafeteria either. That stuff is horrible. Take the stuff and use the kitchen." Bitches loved breakfast in bed.
Now he wanted breakfast. And Coffee. He gave a big sigh. " I miss Denny's."

Rep was entirely behind the architect punching plan without even realising he was on a parallel thought process to Melvin. He wanted anyone who had ever helped create this masterfully terrible game to get karmic justice for how long he felt like he had been at it.
"S'about luck." he offered vaguely. It certainly felt like luck to him wether or not his hand obeyed his brain at this point, neither were working in any sort of unison. "Not dexthingymajig."
"Breakfast in bed wouldn't work. For lots of reasons right man. Like. One, I'm not a morning person, I don't get up till he does right? And two, the most important thing. Kitchens are for bitches, women do stuff in kitchens, not guys. I can't even make anything man, I'd end up killing him. Also he's like. Not a morning person either. Not till coffee is involved."
He pouted. "It's hopeless man."
So hopeless was he in his despair he got really good at Jenga. Stacking that disappointment high.

Melvin was shaking his head. "Dexterity. It means how good you are with yours hands." He showed both hands as if Rep didn't know he had two, but also because Melvin was trying to express himself to someone he felt wasn't picking up as quickly as he had hoped. "And luck is dumb. People going on about luck all the time here. Unless you keep four leaf clovers on you, I don't want to hear luck." Luck had no place near him. He had bad luck anyways, so relying on it meant he was screwed to Pluto and back (yes, he still saw it as a planet).
"No. No. You're just lazy and don't want to put some effort into it. Wake up earlier for one damn day. Damn. It's not asking to severe your arm. Cook it, give it to him, then take a nap or whatever later. If you don't want to cook it, have someone else cook it for you and just SAY you cooked it. It's the thought, anyways. He'll eat it any way you make it." It was the law of the gift. If you made a bad dinner or gave a bad shirt, they still had to take it unless they were dicks. Jordan was the friendly sort who didn't seem like he'd be pissed off if everything wasn't perfect.
"And just make breakfast around when he wakes up. You can have breakfast whenever. It's why you can have breakfast at midnight at Denny's." DAMN! He really wanted some Denny's right now. He really needed to stop talking about it.
"If you can't even wake up a bit earlier than your boyfriend, they you really do have to worry about loosing him. Come on. You fight with some big a** axe thing, and you can't even put the effort into this guy. You spend ALLL this energy fighting guys off of him, yet you don't even want to do this? Seems you like fighting guys off than actually being for the guy you want to keep." Seemed like Rep just liked having an excuse to fight.
"Man up and make some damn toast." Melvin waved his hand out at Rep and just knocked the tower with his wide gesture.
So close.

"Oh I'm damn good with my hands." Rep said before tittering in an entirely unmanly way. "Just ask-"
He cut himself off solemnly.
<>
"Augh. That's so complex and ******** womanly. I don't want to be like hey Jordan, I've decided to be your ******** kitchen b***h. If he wanted a woman he'd have dated one. Its not a lack of effort its like, I dunno. I don't know how he'd take it. As for someone else making it and stealing the credit."
He looked Melvin over with a curl of a smirk. "How good a cook are you?"
It was a bit of bravado to cover up how terrified he was by the prospect of having to do these things to keep Jordan. He'd always thought that the relationship was just a matter of being himself, just being as loving as he could be and doing what thoughtful things he could manage. The idea there was a quota of gestures to be met if you didn't want to lose your other half deeply scared him, even through his groggy stupor. He was deeply distressed by this entire end of the conversation and couldn't talk his way around it to explain how he felt about it.
And then the tower fell. "Noooooooo"
He got up and staggered over to insistently shake Melvin till he got up.
"Wake up, wake up and let..let me win and stuff man. "
He leaned on the table at Melvin's side of the desk where he teetered unsteadily, the room spinning, stacking up the blocks in the most haphazard jenga tower ever created.
The minute Melvin woke up he whipped out the last couple of blocks and beamed. "I THINK I WON MAN." He nudged the life hunter with his hip. "You gotta do it now though."

Melvin was groggy, and just wanted to shove Rep away and sleep, but he got up, slowly, painfully slow, and set his hands down to just stare at this horrible tower. Rep whipped out the last blocks like a pro, or maybe Melvin was so drugged that even seeing simple actions seemed like magic to him, and he set his head down on his folded jacket and just softly hit his fist against the table - aware he didn't want to knock the tower over. "I hate this game." He whined. Yes. He was whining. ******** appearances now. He wanted to whine. If Rep could do it, he could too.
Finally sitting up more slanted than straight, he nodded. "Yeah, I think you won." A sun won the course over him, a life trainee. This world hated him.
"Okay. Okay. You don't have to do breakfast. Chefs are guys who do food you know? Whatever. Just....well, you don't know enough about him. Spend the next bit of time really getting to know him cause aside from coffee and showers, you know jack s**t. Make a list. Keep it hidden. Any stupid thing he likes. Then you could do something else. It's not like we're going anywhere." Hell, if it was a girl, he'd just say get something sparkly when on leave. That...might work.
"That or buy him a present during leave." He waved dismissively, reaching out and knocking the tower again. "Oh come o-"
Out again.

"Fine. I'll get to know him more. A list. That makes sense. Maybe I can ask Ace too. He can help. I'm sure he knows more than me about specifics and s**t." Still, he didn't feel too great about this conversation. Before he'd felt certain, like he knew things intuitively, now he was questioning how much he even knew about Jordan in the first place, and by extension Harrison. It wasn't a good feeling and was exactly what he didn't need to be feeling right now. He set it aside. "I'll do what I can and see how it goes I guess."
He turned his attention back to the matter at hand, gloating like a complete a*****e.
"So like-"
The tower fell again.
Still giddy with victory, Rep found Melvin getting knocked out again just about the funniest thing he'd ever seen and had a good long laugh for a few minutes before putting his hands on the man's shoulders and shaking him awake. "Again."
Great, now he had a personal jenga motivator.

He breathed deep, sound, and the accumulated was helping to make him stay down a little longer than before. It took a good shake for Melvin to wake up, and he blinked slowly as if wondering where he was before he saw that tower - and his face fell.
Taking both hands, he rubbed his face. "I wish I had a blowtorch as a weapon." He wanted to see this tower burn.
Sighing, he reached out, more on autopilot than concentration, and tried to piece the conversation from before he passed out.
"Yeah. Just list it. You'll have a nice, neat file at the end. Proof of work." He pulled out another piece, holding his breath. "It's rewarding." He liked having a nice, full, folder of work. It showed he had done something, and he could hold it in his hands and see it.
"Then you can just pull out the list whenever and think up something when they get pissed off at you." Essentially, ideas to bribe your way out of trouble. It was a age-old guy trick.
He breathed out when he managed 5 pieces.

Melvin couldn't help but let out a chuckle. "I'm surprised anyone would want 2 people to date. That sounds like such a pain." Too much drama between too people, and how did you juggle the attention. Then again, they weren't women and might b***h less.
Melvin looked at Rep, a man, and tossed that theory aside. Nope. Probably the same type of drama.
"Here you were all going my moon and now you can just say his name." What was the problem anyways?
Melvin reached out again, but he was seeing double and knocked over the tower again.

"It wasn't what I wanted, it just worked out that way on its own and we let it." he eyed the tower critically, it was looking just a bit unstable at this point. Or maybe it was him, he wasn't even sure.
"He is my moon. That's what he is. I ******** hate the word boyfriend. Its really ******** gay. And sometimes I don't feel like being what that word means. I'm something else." He was glad he didn't need to elaborate too much as Melvin knocked over the tower again, smirking toothily as he pinched him this time rather than shaking him.

Melvin whined when he was pinched, and turned his head from where it was resting on the table to reach over and rub his shoulder before glaring at Rep. "...ddoonn'tt" He huffed, rising up as he breathed out and worked on setting up the tower again. Was it this shape? No. That wasn't working. There it was. That was a square - he hoped.
"How long have you been with the other one?" He asked, making talk again, before working on taking some blocks out. Slowly. As slowly as he could as he was slightly swaying as he did so.

Melvin was counting under his breath, having a hard time just keeping up with how many blocks he was taking. His hand would rise up, uncertain of which block to take, before lowering back down. He had the look of someone who was playing Chess rather than playing Jenga.

Melvin breathed in deep, pinching the bridge of his nose as he tried to see more clearly, before licking his lips and reaching out again with the same shaking of the fingers as someone trying to deactivate a time bomb.
Sllllooowwwwlllyyy, he pulled pieces out, holding his breath until it looked like he might pass out. Then, he managed to take 5 more out.
